The strongest altruism is to slam those gens to get those 4 adrens activated fr no cap
But yeah I'l love to see the bonuses brought back as basekit. 12.5% per stack for a total of 50% maybe? Or 10% per stack if that's too much?
-
It's nice. It's also motivating when there are only 3 or 2 survs left, and I see my allies actually doing gens. Big respect, so then I play to win. That will to not give up inspires me to not give up too, or play selfishly.
-
Don't mind it, good change.
Now please, buff some older killers like you buffed GF, Plague and Legion. Hillbilly and Pig just need number tweaks to feel way better to play.
-
Dead Hard is bad for the game.
-
People talked about 4 man Sprint Burst death juicer squads last time too, but what really happened was that we got actual variety in exhaustion perks for a while.
Just make it not counter instant attacks. So you can still counter abilities, and Nurse and Blight too. You can still counter lunges.
But if the killer catches you off guard and gets right next to you, you're dead, no more stupid "baiting it out" or waiting. They could even buff the speedboost for all I care, I'm just sick of waiting.
-
Post gamechat is a waste of time, keep it closed if it upsets you. As for meeting stronger players, handle your expectations going in and stop feeling like not getting any kills is a failure. You can set your own win condition. You'll be surprised at how the expectations we have change how we respond to things.
Look at Otz during a streak vs doing a fun build. Completely different reactions to similar situations due to expectations he has put on himself.
As for BM, swap targets if someone simply isn't fun to chase, either because of BM or because they feel uncatchable.

Even with eruption out there showing people what an uncounterable combo looks like, people still manage to complain about a combo that literally warns you when it will proc, idk if people are legitimally trolling at this point.
Not trolling, it's just lame and completely pointless gameplay that requires no though other than "better let go any time the killer hooks". What's the point? Either force anyone within 8m of the gen to scream, or remove it entirely.
But it wouldn't be as obnoxious if they'd fix skillchecks right before letting go of a gen.

Like i said if your gonna remove depips then just turn it into the participation trophy that it is, play 100 games and get iri 1.
I dislike your idea because you can pip without escaping, so at best your actually making it harder, and at worst your creating even worse hatch standoff situations because the in entive to hide when its the final 2 will be even worse than it is now
That's fair. Honestly even though the system is flawed, as long as you remove depips, we could keep it the way it already is.

@Deathstroke said:
Pain res is like killers dead hard you have to always expect it and let go off gen and wait before it hits.
That and Eruption. These perk changes can't come soon enough but probably won't happen until the next chapter in like 3 months. What a shame.
-
Can't we just simplify it? For killer, 3k can give 1 pip, for survivor, escaping gives 1 pip. No more double pips because depips are gone. If it takes too long for survs to pip up through escapes only, cut down on the amount of pips needed to reach Iri 1 total.
Remove depips.
It would be less confusing for newer players and less punishing. Plus it would make it less rewarding to slug for hatch because you won't get robbed of a merciless in gold/red ranks if you don't get a 4k.
-
I'm serious when I say this, make basic, non lunge attacks pierce Dead Hard. The thing I hate the most of all about Dead Hard, isn't actually that it's a free counter to any lunge near an undropped pallet. That's lame, but fair enough. You're not always going to be within lunge distance near an undropped pallet.
My issue is how every single time you are going to down a survivor now, you have to wait. And if you look at high MMR, it gets ridiculous. Killers breathing down survivors neck for 5+ seconds every single time they're injured, just to wait out a Dead Hard. Sometimes you swing immediately, but hey, the survivor just used Dead Hard immediately.
This stupid waiting game is making it less fun to play killer as a whole.
Making Dead Hard only counter lunges, but NOT counter instant-swings would fix so many stupid flaws with this perk, while still letting it have its niche of preserving pallets. If you're walking directly behind an injured survivor, even if they're just 3m from a pallet, they should be dead. No more spins, no more waiting.

Im sure the FoV people talking about is Horizon one, not Vertical.
I dont think add 2 numbers and divide by 2 saying its the FoV though.
Make me wonder, does ShadowBorne increase Vertical FoV?
No, most people have no idea there's a distinction between the two. They say that "since DBD has 87 FOV, this is good enough" when in practice, it's not actually a comfortable FOV for most players since it's closer to 70 actual FOV.
And yes, Shadowborn increases vertical FOV as well. With it, you get 85 actual FOV.
-
Pips are outdated anyway, as is depipping. Might as well just make it "1 pip if you escape as survivor, 1 pip if you 3k or more as killer" and be done with it. And remove depipping.
-
Hey, Beast of Prey is useful.
For Bloodpoints. And nothing else.
If they wanted to make it niche instead of useless, they could make it activate after 15s in chase regardless of Bloodlust, and persist till the chase ends.
Would be useless against SWF though.
-
I was once reported for stream sniping after a long game against a streamer. I quickly enter their stream as the last surv is sacrificed to see their reaction and here they're reporting me before even seeing my perks.
I ran 4 aura reading perks. After hovering over them, they didn't even mention it, got real quiet and quickly moved on to the next screen.
Hackusations tend to be made by sore losers. Take them as you will, they just mean the player felt the game was unfair somehow.
-
Same. But next perk changes will likely be in 3 months. I'll probably just play this event and then take a break.

Don't forget the challenges have to be in a single match. :)
Dying 8 times in a single match is still more doable than the slew of bugged challenges lmao
-
Huntress Terror Radius is only 20m. The perk works fine against most killers, use it some more and you'll see.
-
For killer, it includes things like: Hook a survivor on a Lunar Hook (any hook) 3 times.
For survivor, we have challenges such as: Throw the game and die times while staying within 8m of the killer, 8 times.
As usual.

Can it just insta kill me please so I can move on to the next match? It's genuinely making me not want to play the game, like whatsoever. What am I supposed to do in solo queue? Great job!
This is a great suggestion and should be implemented immediately.

I went against several Eruptions yesterday. One of my counters was to let the generator go before a hook. (And generally trying to be aware of the match and when a teammate is about to get downed. Keeping an eye on things helps.)
I've been bitten a few times but it's nothing special.
I don't get the drama.
Letting go before a hook counters Pain Res, not Eruption.

Distressing + Beast of Prey + Thrill. Last perk is whatever perk is most fun in chase on the killer, or good in general. No regression perks.

And you, apparently. Also you didn't mention anything when another guy asked why you found Shadowborn to be "OP" as basekit. So what do you really think about Shadowborn being basekit?

Tfw you can't understand sarcasm unless there's a /s somewhere.
Hard to spot when half of survivor mains genuinely think an FOV increase would be OP. I don't know you, and if it was supposed to be funny, it wasn't.
Also lowering chase music is a completely pointless change. At least Shadowborn is complained about frequently, unlike chase music.

I've always found it odd how BHVR made unique killer music that reveal what killer you play and chase themes ranging between "good" to "masks survivor noise"
And you think this reply to my reply is any better?
You said Shadowborn basekit would be OP and that's wrong.
-
Slap on Enduring, disrespect everything and enjoy the free pallets.

Game health and QoL updates. Stuff like FOV slider, hook count for killers, removing unhook grabs, forcing survs out of gates if they're all there, or giving the killer an option to end the game after the gates are open, preventing 4 minute slugs. Stuff like that is long overdue.
And cakes.
-
I'd love to have it as a perk, would be a fun adept. Not even an option, JUST a perk. It'd be a hell of a flex in the post game screen. Like No Mither makes you weaker.

It is relevant to the concept of skill and strategy. I am not saying every single scenario fits into what is warranted as "The right thing to do" because sometimes it is also "The lazy thing to do" , and that is the path of willingly just using easy/free pressure because the game allows you to regardless of it's unbalance core problems.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really DO NOT care whether people fall into the "Goes back to hook immediately" "Idles at hook" "Insta tunnels the minute someone gets pulled off" categories, I really don't. I am just arguing the piece where people think this is SKILL. Exactly how many braincells does it take to actually pull that off? Balance camping out and then I'll agree with being the "right" thing to do. Until then survivors get scraps like 7% speed and 5s BT which can easily be baited, and reliance on perks in order to soft counter this core problem.
You realize that this same scenario you think killers have "The right thing to do", survivors don't have that, at least not the hooked person. They don't get to decide if they can just take advantage of a "core game design" to counter Camping or Tunneling, they have to bring the same perks in order to have a chance. I'll just leave it at that.
There's lots of ways to deal with a camping killer. The most effective is slamming gens for 100 seconds to finish them. If it's early, get 1 or 2 gens done, do a trade, then do it all over again. I agree it's unfun mechanically, but I think we're too deep to rework hooks, hook stages, etc entirely to remove camping and tunneling.
4 living survivors that aren't pressured to heal to stay alive can complete generators very quickly, that's why high mmr revolves around tunneling and camping. It's too tall of an order to rework hooks completely to remove this.
What's the solution? When you hook a survivor, they get teleported to a random hook on the map, which you can't see? When they get unhooked, they gain basekit Off the Record and Decisive? If you dislike getting tunneled, bring Deli/DS/OtR/DH, if you dislike people camping, bring Reassurance. Almost none of these perks require skill to use, but they counter tunneling and camping to an extent.
Also the BT is 10 seconds and 10% now if you aren't aware.
-
Cause of SWF. Would be nice to be able to see it as a solo though, but what if you joined the same lobby as your friend as a solo?
-
I think Prove Thyself should stack with itself.
-
Gentlemen, there's a solution you're not seeing.
*last second swaps from P0 to P100 surv and gets hard tunneled*
It would be good if prestige was hidden in the lobby though. Less dodging from killers, maybe even survs. Or if you could hide your own prestige to show 0.
-
I wish they'd increase the base BP gains of doing gens and remove Proves BP bonus so I could unequip it. But I can't give the free BP up.
-
20% vault speed lets goooo
-
I've thought the same things and I completely agree.
The aura that swirls around objects when you're "within range" absolutely indicate that you could press a button to instantly send a guard to break them. Would make Knight feel far less clunky, especially if they're not going to change the "needed distance from wall" thing
-
Agree that it would be really cool and a fun experience. But this is the one thing where I think it actually should be a perk instead of a setting. If you're gonna gimp yourself, what's the point if you can't show it off?
Would also make for a fun adept.

I'd argue this is good information as steam you have to purchase the game while xbox beta gives it for free.
Epic gives better discounts but I hardly see an epic user in my lobbies.
2 years ago there was a peak of 100k players now we are around 30k..
Peak 100k players due to anniversary, yeah. This anniversary had 96k players. Come on now.
But I do hope the upcoming chapters are interesting and good. Also I hope they make more changes to outdated killers, perks and addons.
But DBD is getting a little stale right now imo. And if balance changes really are like 3 months from now, that really sucks.

BHVR have stated that they're following a "wait and see" attitude. I can understand that.
However, given their past history (COH is still broken AF and nothing in the pipeline to fix it etc) I'm not holding my breath.
"Wait and see, unless we've already made up our minds"
-
How my last killer games went has no impacton how I treat the survivors in new games, and taking out previous games frustration on players that had nothing to do with it is immature.
Other than that, pretty good points.

Basekit Shadowborn would be too OP.
Lowering the Chase theme volume, now that´s a QoL change especially if BHVR keeps the crappy Nurse theme.
I disagree with both of your statements.

This post is from before the PTB patch notes. Nice timing on it though.
-
"Sharp decline" while hovering consistently between 39 and 33k average players, that's just poor wording. It's a little lower than last year and about the same as 2 years ago.
Not sure how they can help it grow into an even bigger stable playerbase than we have now though.
Making the game run better on older hardware would be smart when considering GPU prices and console players.
-
Sometimes, but not often, even against strong teams. A lot of stress comes from expectations. Remove them and the game becomes less stressful.

Why because I don’t support easy braindead
playstyles?
Tell me you camp without telling me you camp.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3314852#Comment_3314852
Telling me your “survivor version” or equivalent to camping does not take away the fact that it takes 0 skill to idle at a hook. Which is what it is.
I never brought up generators nor attempted to make a comparison. I am merely saying that saying you out-gamed a survivor because you had so much skill as to let go of your mouse button in order to stand still is not a skill. That’s just a fact.
Whether or not camping and tunneling requires "skill" is irrelevant. Sometimes it's just the right thing to do if you want to win a game, strategically.
What I will say is that players who find a survivor who is weaker than them in chase and immediately hook them, proxy them, head directly for them after unhooks and give zero wiggle room even at 5 gens are extremely boring to face. Sometimes they'll hit as the survivor gets unhooked to trigger Deep Wounds and deny DH.
I just don't see how that is fun. Solo teams don't have the communication and efficiency to counter that.

How to reduce Tunnelling (From a Killers perspective): Dance, monkey, dance!

Define "spicy".

Hmm, a few ideas myself:
Kickback - Pressing the Active Ability Button X will cause you to Vault but turn around mid-vault, preventing you from vaulting over.
Phantom Step - Pressing the Active Ability Button X will cause you Footsteps to become silent, and prevent you from leaving Scratch Marks for 3s.
Final Push - Pressing the Active Ability Button X will cause you to move the Killer 2m in the direction of your camera. (Boil Over is dependent on not having Exhaustion)
False Allegiance - Pressing the Active Ability Button X will cause the next Vault you perform to be blocked by the Entity for 8s (Window or Pallet), blocking the Killer from Vaulting or Breaking it in addition to yourself.
Kickback and Phantom Step seem fun.
