The "ridiculous agenda" of not treating LGBT people differently?

What causes the "bitterness" is bad faith actors and outspoken homophobes. Wanting equal treatment isn't a good reason for this.

Both you and Mooks are cut from the same cloth. You both think that if gay people aren't seen everywhere, despite being a significantly small % of the population, that everyone is homophobic. You seriously are both blights on the lgbt community.

  • @Mooks said:

no, ‚gay people‘ need to be included everywhere to the point where it really feels normal if a gay character is introduced somewhere.

as long as inclusion will make People scream things like ‚woke‘ there is work needed to be done. You don’t view gay people as normal people. Or any other LGBT people for that matter. And that is a problem.

It's people like you that have to shove your ridiculous agendas down everyone's throats that causes the bitterness with the LGBT community.

The mori change was easier to make, since it's basically just a change of a condition. I believe nerfing the keys requires animation changes and/or addon changes, that require much more time.

How about you remove them from the chest spawn rates for a start? It wouldn't take more than an hour to adjust the code for this.

In my opinion, here are the changes they could make to the key:

1- You can only bring 1 key for lobby

2- Survivors must take a skill check to open the hatch

3- The hatch closes as soon as the survivor escapes

Done, we found a solution, now do it. Ps Surv can't swap in lobby like killer

Appraisal single handedly negates this unless they make it so that keys only appear in the bloodweb. Which is a change that should've happened a long time ago.

  • @Mandy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1803974#Comment_1803974

Keys account for approximately 2% of escapes only and have a lot of conditions met before more than one survivor can escape with a key due to the hatch conditions - a good portion of the game has to be completed before the hatch even spawns. That was completely different to mori's which were one hook and then mori'd.

Those statistics are meaningless now with appraisal and swfs in red ranks.

  • @Mandy said:

Keys are much more complicated to be changed, a change will come but not for some time in the future.

Mori's were much easier as this is just a "tweak" really to the conditions of the mori.

Genius change. Now with the inclusion of Appraisal we have keys in every game. Just keep pissing off killers until there are none left.

Excluding LGBT chars will not prevent bullying. People use names that include anything LGBT and get tunneled and harassed for it. Those bullies will get banned.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1803819#Comment_1803819

the devs admitted their inclusion of straight relations but exclusion of anything LGBT was pretty much a broken state that they WANT to fix. Let the devs do what they want, it won’t harm you in any way.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1803816#Comment_1803816

if you really want it specifically excluded but everything else shall be included nontheless (like hetero relationships) it kind of says gay people/lgbt people are not normal.

they should just be treated normally and that’s it. No special attention or anything. And up to this point they didn’t get any special attention in DbD. There was just this one short Twitter statement that they won’t get excluded anymore.

I'm not saying gay people should be excluded from all things, just not the opposite either. This push by the very vocal, woke types to have gay people in everything pulp culture is only going to cause the gay community to become more polarized. Stop.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1803755#Comment_1803755

No. One sole inclusion won’t change anything. Never said that. But inclusion in media generally does help! That’s why I have stated that I am not only referring to DbD.

But there is still literally no reason to exclude LGBT from DbD lore.

And this is precisely why people don't want a gay character in DBD, we don't need gay people in every aspect of everything in order for it to be 'normal'. Gay people are overly represented in mainstream media now as it stands.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1803743#Comment_1803743

It’s important because it will definitely help in showing that LGBT+ people are not any different than straight people. It actually could make people think about it, help people that are unsure about themselves or others in their lives to see that it doesn’t define who they are. I am not only talking about representation in DbD of course, but since DbD represents characters with heterosexual relationships it should only be normal to also include LGBT.

no one said they should add a character with the only trait being LGBT. Literally nobody wants that.

If you think a videogame character is going to change anyone's perception on reality you are living in a fantasy land.

  • @alaenyia said:

I think it is because representation in important. The same reason the game has Black, Asian and Latin characters.

Why is representation so important? I find it to be classless and obnoxious. To add a character for the sole purpose of them being of a minority doesn't do anything for anyone. Do you think people who are anti-LGBT are going to go "wow, they added a DBD character who is transgender, I really need to re-think my position on this..."? Do you think most normal minded gay people are going to be 'proud' that they added a gay character just so they can now 'fit in'?

Diversity for sake of diversity is pandering and I don't know why this topic gets brought up so much around here but I really wish it would just die on the hook.

    1. It's not for little reason, it's to justify the pricing of the DLCs. On the other hand, if the DLCs were cheaper, they'd have to fire some people.
    2. It is achievable. I have all the perks I want on my main survivor. You don't have to go for P3-50 on everyone while also unlocking every single perk. That's your choice.
    3. There is no social commentary in this game, you must be thinking of something else.
    1. BHVR made 100 million dollars last year. I don't think shaving off a few survivors released here and there is going to cost the firing of some people.
    2. It's only achievable if you don't play killer much and you have a very low limit of what you want.
    3. All this talk about inclusion, every single type of person needs to be represented otherwise the game isn't progressive enough for some people to feel like 'they finally belong' is within social commentary.

Look, we clearly aren't going to find any common ground, you simply want to argue for arguments sake so best of luck to you.

I said global statistics. As in, number of people around the world.

And I said it's of no relevance. More so, you are missing the larger points. 1. Don't make an over abundance of survivors for little reason. 2. Keep the grind to a realistic, achievable pace. 3. Social commentary doesn't belong here(in the game).

  • @Orion said:

You're right, race shouldn't be a big deal. That's why the devs have been adding characters as they pleased, without concern for quotas. You think one black woman was enough because that's your quota. The devs don't have a quota, so they added more.

Games are still about fun. You're the one choosing to pay attention to the characters' skin tone instead of the gameplay.

PS: White people are the minority, when taking global statistics into account. Signed, a white person.

What does global statistics have to do with anything? If you think white people, more specifically, white males are in the minority in video gaming you are highly delusional.

Yes, that link shows what everyone already knows: it takes a long ass time to get everything, so if you choose to go down that path, you'd better be ready to spend a ridiculous amount of time playing the game.

While I agree that I don't want to see a video game I enjoy fall down the rabbit hole of wokeness I am far more concerned with the grind that this involves.

So DbD is "[falling] down the rabbit hole of wokeness" because they're adding black characters? Please, explain.

DBD already has several black characters. I think this whole concept of adding (insert minority here) just to have diversity that the vast majority of the community could care less about is insidious in nature. Race shouldn't be a big deal. Do you think all us white people care that the majority of the roster on EA sports games is minorities? No, we could care less. It's realistic to the rosters in reality. Leads in Tell tales walking dead are black? Nope, not one bit. The bigger a deal you make about race and this forced inclusiveness the more people recoil to the notion.

I miss when games were about having fun and not about having some form of social commentary.

Imagine saying this with such a flippant disregard for other people, particularly minorities who are wildly underrepresented to begin with, when we have how many white characters? Why did we need Ace, or David? Isn't one white man in Dwight enough? What about Laurie, Nea, Kate? Isn't Meg enough?

Why not just have only one character of every single race while we're at it?

If you don't care about this, that's fine, but it LITERALLY does not affect you at all. You're choosing to argue a stance for no reason whatsoever. It makes other people happy to see themselves in media they love - deal with it.

Please spare me your righteous indignations about characters in video games. I shouldn't have to grind 500 more hours just to complete a character for the simple fact that their skin tone is a shade different in order to have everything unlocked. You want to have 5000 survivors? fine, make the grind actually reasonable.

"It makes other people happy to see themselves in media they love - deal with it."

And people are going to have a difference of opinion to your ideals, deal with it as well.

Isn't it a little shallow and strange to have so much of an emotional reaction to playing as someone who 'looks' like you in a videogame?

Not if you've never had that, no.

The grind to P3 and get all the perks for each and every character is beyond the scope of any normal person.

Nobody's forcing you to P3 all characters and unlock every perk on everyone.

I guarantee there are at least 100 completionists for every black woman playing this game.

I guarantee there aren't. Even if there were, I thought completionists got their enjoyment from having to work for completion, not just getting everything handed to them.

There has been plenty of black characters in a large amount of video games now adays, including this one. And you are forcing me to if I want to complete everything. Do you have any idea on how long it takes to p3 with all perks? Even a modicum of knowledge on the subject? We are talking thousands upon thousands of hours of grinding billions of blood points.

  • @Mandy said:

I think representation plays a massive part of it. Honestly the video of Friskk when she saw the new survivor, Elodie and how she felt about it nearly reduced me to tears as her happiness and what it meant for her, was so clearly visible.

It's fine if you don't feel the need to be represented in a game, but not everyone feels the same - and there's no reason why people's wants/needs/desires/ should be excluded in that matter.

So much I disagree with here. I don't know who Friskk is, I'm assuming a black woman. I guess the question is, with the grind being so outrageous, is diversity really the most important thing? Was one black woman not enough? What is the acceptable number of each and every mix of people? Isn't it a little shallow and strange to have so much of an emotional reaction to playing as someone who 'looks' like you in a videogame?

There are way too many survivors in the game. The grind to P3 and get all the perks for each and every character is beyond the scope of any normal person. At the very least, can BHVR ease off on the survivors until the number reaches up to killers please? I guarantee there are at least 100 completionists for every black woman playing this game. So for the love of god, let's pull the brakes on the woke train.... just for a little bit eh?

  • This is a pointless read, other than they are planning on ######### up Huntresses addons. Nothing BHVR say has legitimacy anymore because every answer is 'we're looking into' or 'this is something we are considering' or 'there still are things to review first' ..... it's all meaningless drivel. Unless they can provide an actual time table for things the way they can on PAID DLC they are just stringing you along. They've been doing this for years.

  • @azame said:

Twins needs a nerf. Its day one but hear me out. For some stupid reason victor has an extended horizontal hitbox. This allows him to get so many undeserving hits and making dodging near impossible.

You have to cush him to get him away but how can you even dodge him? Nothings safe against victor it feels like another deathslinger to be completely honest.

I had Hope's for this chapter but twins is pretty boring. They camp really well so its hag, deathslinger, and a little of t1 myers.

I'll give it another shot though. I could be wrong but as of this moment I fully believe they need to reduce Victor's hitbox dodging is scuffed.

Why is it that people use the term 'boring' incorrectly all of a sudden? If the killer is OP the last thing it should be is boring.

  • Can I add a few?

*Shack pallet sometimes can only be broken by one side

*Plagues wells can sometimes be drank from when corrupted, turning the wells pure.

*Very poor desyncs with the dedicated server

*When all Plagues wells are corrupted she will gain her power and open up a well, cannot corrupt all wells (might be working as intended)

keys and moris are already being reworked together, the perk was an idea devs had to use now that they needed perks for new character

That's foolish reasoning. To say 'hey we have this massive balancing issue with our game, why don't we make it worse?' because, we need new content. This games been out for over 4 years now and nothing has been done about keys. How long are we to wait? Another four years? It's apologists like yourself who make things worse by being apathetic to the issue.

  • And I'm of the opinion that content shouldn't have made it into the game because of the slippery slope it creates. Thanks to ST you now have kids asking for FNAF, Slenderman etc.

  • @Unknowninsanity said:

We ask for him because he fits well for both lores. He will be one of the best selling dlc more then stranger things.

If you say it’s a kids game we ask for him because he fits. A kids thing is something 90% of the players are kids like a Mario character or hello neighbor. And yeah there is still some kids in the franchise but not enough to say it’s full of kids most of the fnaf community has aged now plus kids will be to scared of someone like twins or oni.

You are in a very vocal, very small minority. No, FNAF does not fit. Just from a decency standpoint you really shouldn't mix TEEN content with MATURE content.

  • You guys are getting off-topic, the real question is why the hell would they make these changes too chests prior to fixing keys?

  • For me a 'fun' killer to play is someone who feels rewarding when you win and not too underpowered where you are constantly having to go tryhard in order to catch up to survivors.

It sounds to me you are a horror movie fan, I would first recommend Michael Myers. He's pretty well balanced and the jump scares he produces make him really worth it. He is not very addon dependent but his add-ons are the best (most interesting/balanced) in the game.

Next, I would really suggest putting some time into Hag. Go look up videos of Michi or Space Coconut. I'll be humble and not link my own :P. She is very fun once you have a solid understanding of trap placement. Michi has a tutorial video that you should watch start to finish beforehand.

  • @freddymybae said:

  • It is not on, if it is for you please provide proof. doesn't make sense that it would be on for some and not others. I can tell you it is not on for PC right now.

So the solution is to remove it altogether? BHVR should be closing the gap between solos and swf, thats the first step to improving balance

I agree they should close the gap, the easiest way to do that would be a two-step process.

    1. Add VOIP to the game (very easy and costs next to nothing)
    2. Hire an outside company who specializes in matchmaking (could be pricey, but when you're making over 100 million per year I think you can afford it)
  • I used to play by the unwritten rules in the survivors handbook for years. It wasn't until this halloween 'event' that I decided I'd start entertaining myself by tunneling the first person I hook in every match.

Even though it's caused me to 4k less, my bps stay pretty much the same and I'm far more entertained then if I played the match straight.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

“Don't allow survivors to play in a SWF and force people to try and play solo game against random ranks of killers.”

so prevent people from playing with their friends, effectively kill the survivor pop for a month

“I'm just wanting to play against at least a mix of 1 toxic, 1 casual, 1 beginner, and 1 chill player in the same team against a killer of any of the 4 categories.”

    so an unbalanced match

“Encourage players to try and play the game for fun and not for competition since this game is too off balanced to ever be an Esport.”

your definition of fun is not the same as everyone, I personally would like to game to be more competitive and skillful

Some hipocracy here, the game isn't balanced for swf. Yet you say you want a skillful and competitive game. So which is it?

  • So if we are being generous with the numbers it should be 640k BP's 13,750 IS every day logged in. Which is kinda meh, and a weird number to come up to total wise. It certainly beats nothing though. Now with the skin sale going on with 75% off the older Halloween skins if they made them purchasable with IS and marked those down to 75% as well (making them around 5,250 IS each) then I think people would have a lot loss to complain about.

  • So.. I'm a little confused on Oct 30th do you get 20k | 500 + 100k | 2750? Because that's the way it's kinda phrased but seems strange.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

  • That the game would be in a better state now than it currently is? People are always going to complain, there's no doubt about that. But there is a lot of justified anger at the developers for the current state of the game.

  • We understand your pain. Hopefully the dev's will get back on track at some point. It's a great game that's just a bit misguided. Hopefully it gets back on track and you give it another chance.

Your right it is almost everyone but id say it's different.

In that case their just waiting to taunt you. In my case I'd say he took out a part of the round where survivors can very commonly escape but made it so he wins. Which sure as a killer main I can get behind. But at the same time I see it as getting sweaty for a 4k.

Also everyone else for context I did walk over to him and he didn't do anything so I walked up to get the hatch he closed it on me and initiated a chase. Then proceeded to not pick me up. So I think it was more a taunt and less a show of already winning.

    Edit: Grammar again

Yeah I mean it's the same principle though of standing at the exit gate. It's basically the player saying "I win and there's nothing you can do to stop me". Unlike survivors waiting at the exit gates there is a counter to it if you're smart. As someone else pointed out if you can observe the killer from afar and see that they aren't moving off of the hatch simply 99 the remaining gens you need so you can get a door attempt. I've actually been in this exact situation several times in the past and when it works out it's such a beautiful moment of vengeance!

Also, I had a few times where when I saw this taking place I ran to all the chests looking for a key. If you manage to find one bait the killer to close the hatch and open it up again. That'll teach him!

  • What I want to know is what causes this to occur? I've been very lucky with not having it happen to me.

  • I don't think gen times are as much of the problem as the matchmaking being what it is. They don't seem to have an answer for it.

  • I have to agree that legion & clown being the 'hard mode' killers has now been replaced by blight. I can see him being a really fun killer but his learning curve needs to be amended by amping up his powers.

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 11
