I feel like Thompsons House in its current state is more bearable than it was before. I hope that either the Coldwind maps or the Asylum maps are up next for a rework though because Rotten Fields, Asylum and Fractured Cowshed really are poorly designed imo.
Well I can tell you that most M1 Killers hate Crotus Penn because it is seriously a pain. :) Rotten Fields is rough (but still hate Crotus more). Oddly enough I do ok at the Fractured Cowshed. Everyone says how strong it is, but I guess I've gotten poor Survivors when I pull it.

I really understand your point of view, but I hope you understand mine as well:
In a certain way I like the game. But as with everything, there is something that bothers me:
This exaggerated killing with your own hand. There are people on both sides who find this cool. I find it repulsive.
For me, the suicide on the hook is a compromise. The killer player gets his kill checked in, and I'm ruining a chance to do that kind of violence. It happens in anticipation of a mori.
Further, I can tell you this:
It's not just about dodging a mori. You can tell with a high degree of accuracy what your opponent's goal is by the way he plays. And let's not fool ourselves: If the killer has you in his crosshairs, you need a lot of skill and incredible luck so that your opponent makes a mistake and gives you a chance to escape and/or you have the right loadout. For me, as a survivor, these situations are almost always predictable.
Logical conclusion:
Expecting to be killed by the hand of the killer(player), he gets only a very small chance. If he spots me, he gets the kill checked in on the hook. And I do my best to stay undetected for a long time.
The view that I'm ruining the round for the other players is tenable for me, but not correct and therefore not my problem. I don't see DBD as a sporting game and also not as a championship. It is a game. What is preventing the rest of the players from adjusting to the new situation?
I had once made a suggestion to the devs to make the game less violent by implementing a checkbox in the settings that would allow the survivor player to automatically skip the corresponding animation in case of a mori.
That would satisfy everyone, I would think.
The killer player can get off on it and my one will immediately stop with the suicide on the hook. It couldn't be simpler.
However, I must add the following:
Habit!
Much of what happens in the game seems to happen out of habit.
I very often observe that killers hang me on the back hook in the basement.
I like to interpret something into that:
"I want a kill." OK. Wish is fulfilled.
So why stay in the game when the killer player sends an understandable message? I do that, too! I don't fight my way out of the killer's grip most of the time.
If your opponent makes it very difficult or even impossible for you to escape from the hook, then there is no point in trying. Especially not if the remaining survivors do not use the time to repair generators, but make an insane rescue attempt.
I've been playing the game long enough to know the following:
A rescue attempt made difficult by the killer no matter how usually ends with all survivors massively weakened, and either for the one off the hook, the fun repeats, or one of the others is on it, or worse.
If you want to understand how I see things, I recommend this:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1269022860
I once wrote this guide a few years ago. Even if there are exceptions, I can proudly say that I consider it durable and applicable.
As a killer player, I had really exciting and fun rounds that brought both me and my opponents a lot of points and fun. But you know what else?
We had respect for each other!
Thank you for your time!
I wish you a happy new year 2021!
Except it isn't the Killer that you are leaving to rot. They don't care if you suicide on the hook or not really (at least I don't when I play Killer). It is the 3v1 (or worse) that you just hung out to dry. Everything you just wrote spotlights that you see this suicide on the hook as a thing that is between you and the Killer, when it isn't. You don't know what would have happened, or if those other Survivors would have gotten you or gotten more Generators done, or whatever because you are "gone" the second you check out.
You have unbalanced the game by your actions. The designers assume, calculate in fact that people will be on the hook (probably multiple times) and stay on those hooks for a bit. All you are doing is freeing the Killer up to hunt the others down faster.

Skins require an artist to design them. Those don't come free. It is new content and costs money. It doesn't surprise me at all that a custom Skin of Krampus is hefty.

I'm almost certain this is a fad some streamer started, but recently I get a ton of survivors vaulting at me after they stun me.
Since I run enduring this pretty much gives me a free down, so I'm curious to know what its trying to achieve, and whom to blame in my solo queue games for when my teammates decide to kill themselves attempting this nonsense.
Perhaps they think you are a hunka hunk of burning love? :)

I don't care if people dodge lobbies. That is far better than disconnecting or early, unwarranted suicides on the Hook. Nobody wastes too much time, Gear, Add-On(s), or Offerings that way. Do I dodge lobbies? No, as a general rule not. Sometimes I back out for a phone call or a bathroom run I didn't expect, but I don't avoid any particular gathering of players unless I recognize a name from my Hacker list.

Blood Favor is pretty.... well... useless. If I were to change it I would give it a flat cooldown of 30 seconds, and the range would be set by level.
20 Meters at level-1, 25 Meters at level-2, and 30 Meters at Level-3.,

I want to quit every single time i get him. I block every single Doctor user. Playing against the Doctor is not only the worse experience in DbD but also a bad gaming experience overall. Just f'ng people running around using their power making everyone scream. No skill. I'm not a pro gamer i'm sure he's easy for pro gamers but for 90% of the players out there is the worse.
Even if you lose him he finds you with that damn power. I've lost him sometimes like 6-7 times only for him to keep finding me. Unless you run then he can just find you with the scratch marks.
Hide in the closets you say? When most doctor users know to check every damn closet.
I don't mind any other perk, killer, survivor or mechanic in the game but this is the worst killer ever. Baby mode. Super auto aim. Machine gun with a grenade launcher added.
The Doctor is a pushover. You just need to adapt to his style of hunting. I run Calm Spirit almost 100% of the time (and not just for the Doctor). You will find your matches with him much easier.
-
The primary issue of this game is it is a 4v1. That means that Survivors need each other and suffer based on how poorly any weak links perform. A lot of time is spent blaming Killers, game balance, Perks, Builds, etc. but 99 time out of a 100, the reason a game goes south is based entirely on Survivor choices. People who disconnect or suicide on the hook are just two of the most glaring failures for the Survivor group. It means that time, the most precious resource in the game, has been squandered.
There will always be poor sports and bad players. I don't think the Tutorial does well by the Survivors in that it doesn't stress the fact that they need TEAMWORK to win, nor does it cover any of even the most basic good habits.
-
Who knows, to spite themselves? Self-loathing? :) It only hurts the person doing it. The Killer got their hooks so now they are getting bonus Quitter points too.

Whether it's Killer or Survivor( s), how would you define them playing sweaty compared to other playstyles?
I define being sweaty as being covered in sweat, perhaps just in from a run or a trip to the gym. In regards to this game, there is no such thing as "sweaty" anymore than there is a "toxic" or "try-hard" or whatever the passive aggressive, manipulative term of the day happens to be. This is a game, a PvP game to be exact, where you play within the rules to win. That's it. Nothing anyone does within the rules is out of the ordinary, excessive, or problematic. The only terms that matter (which are real) are good sportsmanship and bad sportsmanship. All you have to do to be a good sport is:
- Don't cheat, either by hack or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.
There are no other so-called playstyles. You are either playing the game or not. Some people might play better. Some people may simply not be trying that hard. Some people might just be terrible. It doesn't matter. It is all the same game. People make up these idiotic slang terms to try to apply to players and thus try to grief or shame them. This is cowardly, whiny kind of act. It is a type of scapegoating, wherein someone tries to blame their own inadequacies and failures on someone else.

I know the title of this thread is going to attract a lot of hate and that’s ok because everyone has their own point of view, but as a new player I feel I’m not faced with enough challenge in terms of testing my ability as a killer. And to the point of “low ranks are easy and high ranks are hard for killers”, I mostly get matched with red and purple ranks, I don’t use hex perks (I personally find them to be training wheels and I like to stand on my own) and I still find it way to easy to find and down survivors. That’s not to say that I always sacrifice all survivors, there are some games where I might not get any sacrifices, but far to often the game ends in my favor without me putting in much effort and I find it so boring. I want a challenge development team, let’s see what you’ve got.

What a novel suggestion. I'm guessing you suggest it on every forum on this site. If you read the comments from the devs, they want feedback. Some feedback is gonna be bad. However the devs have also stated they want to hear about ways to improve the game. Whether or not they actually mean that is up for debate. With that said. As for ok letting my wallet do the talking, it already has by purchasing every character in the game on top of the initial purchase price.
I have a suggestion. Why care about my opinion? Ignore me and walk away. If it's good enough for you to tell me to do it I'm guessing you're not against the notion. Of course you could be like Donald Trump and say you don't have to do as you tell people they should do... which would not surprise me either.
I don't care about your opinion; it is a bunch of passive aggressive nonsense. Your problems in the game are just that, i.e. YOUR problems. Nobody is going to solve them for you. We all play the same game and run into the same issues. For better or worse, most of us keep on trucking and don't try to scapegoat others for our personal failures or lack of fun. Games (all games) give back only what you put into them. Not only is it entitled to demand the DEV fix your problems, it is foolish. The problems originate inside you, not from the game. This game is PvP and full of countless variables. It is one big social contract on wheels, and your inability to function within said contract happily says far more about you than it does their product.

The rules are wrong. The devs can fix them. They don't. In doing so they passively encourage toxic behaviour. Same as when lawmakers ignore flaws in law they passively encourage harmful activity like tax evasion. In fact they participate I said activity.
Now there's a cynical statement - imagine if the reason the devs encourage irresponsible gameplay is because they love to be toxic players themselves...
Are they now? Well here is an even simpler suggestion. If you aren't happy with the game and not having fun, vote with your wallet and move on. I can assure you that what you are doing right here in the Forum is redundant and pointless.
-
I play Myers as my main Killer; more specifically I play Spooky Myers (Cracked Mirror+Boyfriend's Memo) as often as I can. Spine Chill is the best defense against me. Am I crying to get it nerfed? No. I simply learned to play around it and/or live with it. I feel the same about DS and all the other Perks that seem to rile people up. Do I have opinions on how I would love to see things tweaked? Sure. Everyone has opinions. But I don't get upset playing against the versions we have now, nor do I think the world will end if things are altered.

As a Killer, I always run Play With Your Food. As a Survivor I always run Calm Spirit.

So I'm one of these guys who always tries to play the game the right way. I prefer builds that are not antagonistic. As a survivor I try to be a team player (unless a rift challenge encourages me to be selfish which is inevitable). As a killer I avoid tunnelling (although sometimes being a chaser type of killer it happens naturally) and never facecamp or slug.
This game is obviously not targeted towards people like me.
More and more lately I'm coming up against players not interested in using skill. As a survivor I get a slugger or facecamper at least 50-60% of the time. As a killer I constantly get over-aggressive survivors or worse I get DCs and teabaggers if I'm playing well.
The culture of this game SUCKS. The toxicity is born of poor character design, devs saturating the game with underdeveloped killers who I swear go through zero beta testing and bugs galore. It is then promoted by people who get frustrated by the design of the game. Survivor vs Killer arguments on this forum are mute - the real issue here is the lack of developmental oversight.
Don't get me wrong - Dead By Daylight can be hugely satisfying and I massively enjoy the fun rounds. However for a game that generates massive profits I find the lack of investment shocking. Why am I paying to get constantly dunked on?
Pull your heads in devs. The players may add to the crap but it starts and ends with you guys.
I had to laugh when I read your post. I know that statement needs some context. Your post sounded to me just like those obnoxious creeper guys who spend all their time complaining about how they are a "Nice Guy" and deserve to get the girl. They are angry and upset that the girls just don't see how "nice" they are and make the only sensible choice.
Of course the truth is that guys who get angry about girls not choosing them aren't that nice in the first place. The "Nice Guy" is just their act. Nice isn't real if it is really just an act with an ulterior motive. Nice that can do a 180 when one doesn't get what one wants was never genuine. Calling yourself an "Honest Player" just brought that involuntary snorty laugh from me.
All that being said, I'm going to clue you in on a stark, simple reality. There is just the game, and what is within the rules and what is not. "Nice" is a subjective, worthless term that is not in the rules. All you need to do to be a good sport is:
- Don't cheat, either by hacks or lag spikes.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.

Meat Packing Plant is one of the worst maps in this game. I want to agree with everything you said, but you lost me at "I went out of my way for meat packing plant" I have to go with quitter bro.
I also do not care if people DC or suicide out of my matches. I play mostly survivor and could care less if people stay or go. People in the forum always state it is such a huge inconvenience for everyone to have a member leave, well not me. You wanna go, go. I played in the good ol' days when it did not boot the team if someone did not make it through loading. I have played hundreds of games with 3,2 or just me. It is just a different kind of match, you adjust and move on. I don't think people should be forced into matches they don't want to play.
On a more sympathetic note I do hate it when I bring a map token (since they are kinda hard to get) and the match gets screwed up and you lose it, that sucks balls. I have probably 20 Meat Packing Plant tokens because I would never burn one. I wish we could trade them or sell them back to the store or something, I would have given you all of mine for cheap. I would pay you to take the Midwichs.
And yet, you never see me complain or even comment on getting sent regularly to the old Ormond, Haddonfield, Rotten Fields, etc. Survivors choose the maps for me quite frequently. If I had to guess, I'd say I see them put in a map about 40% of my matches. The maps I see are almost always the SAME ones. I don't quit. I don't complain. I play them. Why? Because they earned those maps, spending their BP on them. They are valid choices and and in the game to be used. So let me ask you, are you inferring that I have less right than Survivors to select the maps I want to use? Are you suggesting Killers should just quit whenever the Survivor friendly maps come up?

Actually no. I'm embarrassed for you. Go ahead and look back through my 2000 or so posts and see if you can find a single one that ever judges any Surivor or Killer's build. You won't find one because I don't think the builds or selection of add-on(s) other people choose are any of my business. Legal options in the game are fair and valid. There is nothing wrong with them.

It's not about winning or losing. I don't really care about surviving that much, but I wanna have some fun in the matches I have (I still have to complete missions that require escapes, but I'll eventually complete them).
The last fun match I can remember I had against Myers was like 3 or so months ago (and I stopped loading into matches with indoor map offerings from like 2 weeks ago, when I was wall hack camped last... so maybe later I will try them again, but I'm taking a break from them now because since these last 2 months the killers seem to be camping and tunneling harder with those kind of add ons equipped (that's my perception), and I wanna chill in these last days of the year, not get mad over a game. So it's best to avoid it for now.
I had a game that a Pig camped and tunneled me like that for about 4 gens and everyone but me escaped. I won't say I didn't have any fun, because I was testing the new perk Deception and it worked sometimes with her, but... it was frustrating I couldn't do anything else and it wasn't even fun because I knew she would just ignore everyone else to go after me, even if it meant losing the game for her (what happened in the end).
I didn't get points, I didn't get any progress over my cleansing totens mission andI also depipped, because no heals + no gens + just chases, since I was the first one she found, means no rewards, but i don't really care about this part that much.
So... yeah. But I really hope you can have fun sometimes with your build and I hope next year I am able to face someone who's looking for a fun match too, not just stand there admiring auras next to a hook.
Happy holidays for you and good games.
I appreciate the seasonal good wishes; the same back to you. I do want to say that tunneling and camping isn't always (or even often) a preference of the Killer. When you mention you were the only one to die, and the other three got out, it made me think of how many times I, when playing Killer, have seen Tunneling/Camping created by the Survivors themselves. In short, the people that unhook you only take the first step, but not the rest. A true safe rescue requires more than pulling you off a hook. It sometimes means making sure that the returning Killer goes after them, and/or taking protection hits. This is very well explained in this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noLG0TucFGsThis is a new one and bears directly on our conversation, so I figured I'd post it up. I play Killer a great deal and I can tell you without hesitation that I rarely camp or tunnel because I want to do it. I simply go for the possible targets. If the only available target is the one I recently hooked, I'm not just going to shrug and say, "rats." If I have an equal choice, I'll go for the new target. I think that serves all parties better. But if only one option is presenting itself, I'm going to take what fate has placed in my path.

The game should "blacklist" people that regularly disconnect, suicide or afk and match them preferably with people that also do those things.
Oh I agree with this 100%. Rather than the current DC penalty, I think there should be the DC Que where people who DC a certain number of times get routed. There they only play against other people who, you guessed it, are of the same bad habit. They can suffer the long waits and get into games with the same kind of people. Only by playing a certain number of games to the end can you once again get back into the normal Ques. Be good, or right back you go to the loser league. Every time you get sent there it takes longer and longer to get back out.

Dude, are you seriously comparing this video game to human rights violations? You have serious issues and a profound lack of context. If you are unhappy with the game, don't play it. Don't compare your freedom to choose which games you play to the actual suffering of people who do not have a choice.

At this point, I don't really judge anyone.
I used to love going against scarejump Myers or Pig, even if I died. But after going twice against Myers that used the wall hacks just to camp me from somewhere away from my field of view and many camping and tunneling Pigs, I just don't load in matches with map offerings like these.
Games that were supposed to be fun scary times turned into me just waiting for death on the hooks with a wall hack jerk. I don't even see the point, so I don't take the risk anymore... But at least you get to keep your offering to use on someone else.
I do think preventing the load so others don't lose their offerings and add-on(s) is more polite. However, I will say that I don't think you should avoid those games. I play both Killer and Survivor and I can tell you that as a Survivor I have beaten those odds, and as the Killer I have been beaten. A Spooky Myers on an indoor map is NOT a certain victory, nor is a Spooky Myers on a big outdoor map an automatic loss. I think you are cheating yourself of potentially really fun games.

Nice hypocrisy right there. So you can do things that ruin the fun for others because it’s in the game but others can’t do the same. The leave button is in the game and so is the matchmaking ban
Again, and I'm truly concerned for you that I have to explain this, it isn't hypocrisy at all. There is what is legal in the game and what is not legal in the game. Disconnecting is against the rules. Using the tools the DEV have designed and put in for use is not. They are apples an oranges. How is it you cannot understand this?

So have you ever tunnelled or camped as a killer, used the old mori, iri hatchets, tombstone plus many more? Because from your explanation you have to give everyone a chance of having fun and being killed or facing any of these is not usually fun for any of the survivors. Which makes you entitled and selfish by your own defenition
I have been tunneled, camped, slugged, and been dispatched by a Mori. I have likewise, in my time, done those same things if/when a specific match called for them. They are valid, legal tactics. Do I do them often? No. Those things are niche tools. I have never used the Iridescent Hatchets because I don't play the Huntress. Would I use them? I'm sure I would from time to time as they are currently part of her legal options. Have I used the Tombstone? Yes, obviously. I'm a Myers player. Do I use it often? No. By in large the Tombstone is counterproductive to BP and emblem advancement. I have a massive stockpile of them because I generally only take one out if I get a Daily telling me to kill by my own hand.
Using those things is not selfish because they are part of the game. Quitting the game is not. Disconnecting is an offense which is against the rules and will draw a ban. People who come in to play the game KNOW what is legal and what isn't. The accept that the Tombstone Piece and all the rest exist, and make a choice to play anyway. The social contract is that they understand the rules of the game, what is legal, and that they will complete the game. For the same reason, you will never hear me say a single thing about Survivors and their builds. Their builds and add-on(s) are their business, not mine. Do you follow?
Your inability to understand basic good sportsmanship is disturbing to me. Let me break it down very simply. A game has rules. When you agree to play a game you are agreeing to play by its rules. As long as you and your opponent remain within the rules, neither you nor the opponent has the right to say diddly squat.
- Don't cheat, either by lag spike or hacks.
- Don't disconnect; if you start a game, finish it.
- Be humble in victory, and gracious in defeat.
That's it. That is something we all learned in Kindergarten.

Imagine DS actually become something that completely stopped tunnelling but you couldn’t use it offensively. Every killer in the game would be crying
I wouldn't be. I would be just fine with it. While there are Killers who whine, most don't. The Forum here is a like a Funhouse Mirror, skewing perception of Killers and Survivors alike. Let me lay something out:
- The Forum is NOT the DbD community.
- At best the folks at the Forum are a tiny minority of the people who actually play the game.
- Most people who play the game don't post here, come here, nor will they ever post anything on social media.
- The people who come here to vent a spleen are simply more motivated by angst than most people who are content.
- If you do an experiment (I did) and count every game, salt at the end, who does it, etc. you will find most people don't.
- In fact, you will find that more of your games are populated by decent or at least neutral people by a large margin.
So let me correct you on something, not every Killer in the game is crying, nor is every Survivor whining. It is a very vocal minority that makes it seem that way if you give undo weight to this Forum.

This is basically old DS with a very minor limit that makes the killer literally unable to hook you after any given hook, but STRONGER. Absolutely not. DS was nerfed in the way it was nerfed for a reason, and while it is still not ideal it is MUCH better with a timing window limitation that lets killers avoid DS if they play cleverly.
You need to understand this version of DS you are proposing was the lowest point of DBD like... ever... and was one of the direct causes of the 2017 killer strike that nearly killed the game.
I'm not sure you read my post very carefully as I did not remove the timer. The only thing I changed from the current design is that the Survivor isn't allowed to interact with the environment aside from running away and hiding. And I made it function one more time. This not the original design; I know because I looked.

I mean, they don't have to, you know. Either that, or they will simply kill themselves on hook, because dc penalty is obviously works, preventing leavers.
You can't force them to play a game they for some reason don't enjoy. And yeah, you just did a huge bet, hoping to force people to play on one of the worst maps out there.
I could not have better illustrated the problem, i.e. the mindset of a quitter, than you did for me with your post. If they don't enjoy the game, they shouldn't have started it. Where is your disconnect? I play Survivor too; I get that map just as often as anyone else. I don't quit the game because of it, or the Killer I see. I don't quit just because I get caught early. I play the game, and even on that map I can prevail with help from the other Survivors.
Your entitled, selfish mindset, i.e. if I'm not having fun I leave anytime I want is exactly the problem. It means you only care about you. You blew off all the other players in the match. If you don't have fun playing this game, you shouldn't play this game. Only a screaming, whining brat upends the table and storms out when things aren't going their way.
In regards to the DC penalty, it does work. Prior to them implementing it we saw brats in almost every single match. Now I see them far less frequently. Good riddance. About the only thing you said with any validity is that I gambled when I put in a match offering. That is true; someone else could also have put in a map offering, or blocked mine. That is the expected bet. What is not supposed to part of the equation is spoiled, whining brats who dump the match.

Hooking a Survivor on "Shrine" Hooks grants the following bonuses:

- Gain 50/75/100% more Bloodpoints for actions in the Sacrifice category.
The bonus Bloodpoints are only awarded post-Trial.
What do you think?
Personally, I think Monstrous Shrine should work more like the Trapper's Add-on(s), i.e. it can injure the Unhooker. See below:
- The Broken Status is applied to the unhooked Survivor for 30/45/60 depending on Level.
- The Unhooker must go through a Skill Check to unhook the Survivor. A Great success means unhook as normal, a Good success means you unhook them but are injured in the process. A failed Skill check means you are injured, and they are not unhooked, and must try again.
-
Yay. Another thread wanting to lament something and remove the agency of Killers. I sometimes wonder if "some" Survivors aren't going to be happy until they are playing Bots.

Yeah, that's why I suggested for receiving healing (either from teammates or yourself) have DS turn off once you become healthy. If you've managed to heal back up, you probably aren't being tunneled. Then again... there are a lot of insta down killers who could take advantage of that... so maybe not. Honestly I don't know about that one.
I'm down with the healing from others, but not the Self-Care. That would have to disable it because that isn't an accidental being pushed out of DS, it would be a choice.

I think that healing other people should turn off your DS. If you feel safe enough to heal someone else then bye DS. However... sometimes you get unhooked and your teammate instantly goes for the heal even if it is a really dumb idea. You straight up can't control your teammate doing something like that. You shouldn't just straight up lose access to your perk if your rescuer taps M1 on you for a fraction of a second.
I don't think the person who got unhooked should be punished for their teammate doing something dumb. Or at the very least we should attempt to minimize situations where that happens.
This is a fair point.

Why would it be anything else? As a solo queued survivor whether or not you pip personally is basically a roll of the dice and just like a real casino the house always wins thanks for bad matchmaking. Imo you have more control over whether or not the killer pips than you do, so why not exercise that control instead of flipping a coin?
Hardly. I play Solo que as Survivor too (I play Killer and Survivor) and I pip up regularly. It isn't random.

@Snipertan said:
It's really the adversarial climate of the game right now, exacerbated by a lack of purpose and good matchmaking. As a killer main the objective in my head is to pip (usually) meanwhile I've noticed when I play survivor the objective as the survivor isn't to pip but rather to deny the killer the pip. When that becomes the objective DCing is not only a valid strategy its a good one as it denies hooks (iirc you need 9 hooks for iridescent devout).
Hrm. I'm not quite sure I know what to say to that. When did the Survivor objective become making sure the Killer doesn't (or loses) Pip? That has never been the objective; who put that in your head? Was there a meeting, or did you just come to feel that way? That is disturbing.

I don't think getting healed should turn it off. Or at least not instantly. If it did, then you'll have moments where you get tunneled and can't use DS because your well meaninged but dumb teammate healed you for half a second. I could see an argument for not turning off for self healing as well. Like say, you get unhooked vs a stealth killer, you don't think they're still nearby so you start healing yourself, then they come around the corner and stab you. Maybe it turns off if you go back to the healthy?
It wasn't in your list but I would also assume that dropping a pallet wouldn't turn it off.
Agreed... Pallet dropping should have been on the exception list. However, I'm firm in my opinion that healing is OUT. No healing in the Killer's face. If you feel comfortable enough to stop and heal, then you have waived your right to minimum safe distance.

This game has a serious problem in that solos are too easy for killer and SWF are too hard. That's why, when I play killer, I'm gonna dodge if I see all survivors are my platform or all of them are from another platform. I have to assume they're a 4-man SWF, which is a very miserable experience playing against. If there's 3 and 1, I'll humor it because it might be hard but is almost close to a fair match. But I don't care if I have to lobby dodge 5 times or more, because I don't want to be a 4-man's plaything. Maybe with Spirit or one of my better killers, I'll break away from this strat, but not with Trapper or anything weak like that.
While I firmly believe Solo and Team Ques should be different, I don't think I would suggest Lobby dodging as a solution. For the time being, at least, we are stuck with the current situation. It is better simply to embrace the problem and take it on full throttle. I assure you, that you can face and fight a SWF. Will it be harder? Absolutely. Will it be sweaty? You bet your sweet patootie. It is also very satisfying to 3-4K them. The SWF (even the Tournament Squads) do have some weaknesses you can exploit.
- If you can mind game one, you have mind gamed all of them. They feed each other info constantly. If you get one to believe something, the others will be told what that Survivor believes.
- They are vulnerable to unconventional builds, like my favorite Spooky Myers (but he is just one). Anything which disrupts their flow of information is more effective against them. Stealth Killers, at least in my experience, all do well against a SWF if pains are taken to fully realize the stealth potential. This bears on my point about mind games.
- They tend to be really altruistic, more than is advised. This means you can turn any Survivor you down into a very lucrative honey-pot. They will milk hooks for maximum time on Generators, but they will come for that person too. Remember, these guys are friends and have the expectation that they are all going to try to get everyone out. *This is NOT true of Tournament Squads, however, so I'll talk about them next.
A Tournament Squad is a bunch of cold, calculating fish that only measure success by the overall win. Each member is ready, willing, and able to sacrifice the rest. None of them have a problem with dying in the match and if they think it is heading that way are going to do their level best to make sure that the sacrifice gets everyone else out. You cannot count on altruism with these Squads. They don't care about individual success, only the team. So don't bet on altruism like a normal SWF.
Getting back to my original point, I want to stress that since we don't know if or when Solo and SWF will ever be in their own Ques, you are going to be facing an ever increasing number of SWF. Studying Lobbies might give you a clue or it might not. I think you will be better served just getting better to kill them regardless.

I'm gonna use NOED because Monto uses NOED and he is a top tier player, this is my justification :P
Correction, he "sometimes" uses it. Monto uses all the Perks. Hell, he has a Perk Wheel which he will spin and let fate decide what he uses. Monto is Monto. :) The only reason YOU should use NOED is because you "want" to use NOED. Don't make the assumption that he is a top tier player because of that Perk. That has nothing to do with it. I watched his recent Santa video where he was directly hitting people with a clown bottles from half a map away. Monto is top tier because he is Monto. :)
-
Me personally, I think DS should be changed as follows:
- DS activates every time you are unhooked and can be used multiple times in a game.
- The timer, which never pauses for anything, is 30/45/60 depending on the level of the Perk.
- DS deactivates the moment you do anything other than run, vault, or go in/out of a locker.
- Thus you cannot self-care, heal, be healed, repair, open gates, etc. without turning it off.
- DS will not activate during the ECG, but if activated prior the timer will run normally.
That's it. This compromise prevents the Perk from being used to do "other" things and makes it entirely for gaining some ground and counter the tunneling tactic a bit. The trade off is you get to use it more than once.

@Yamaoka said:
What's his reasoning behind that idea ?
I can tell you his reasoning. It is a matter of timing. Some Red Rank Survivors sit on their DS for the end game specifically. I've seen and experienced it first hand. It is why I tend to force them to use the Perk early. If a DS goes off during ECG, pretty much everyone left will get out of the match. In fact, the tactic of NOT using the DS early game when you can is quite common. I do that myself. Consider the value:
- After my first hook I get caught again and purposely don't use it and take my hook with the end game in mind.
- In fact, I'm planning on taking a protection hit at the right end game time and going down so I can trigger it then.
- Because I didn't use it earlier, the Killer simply assumes I don't have it (which is often a safe assumption).
As a SWF we all know exactly, using the 5th Perk: Comms, when all the Generators are coming up. Some of us are already getting to gates to start powering them. The person who kept the DS on tap all game is ready to run interference if need be. This sounds like an elaborate tactic and I know some of you are saying this clearly isn't happening. I assure you that it is happening. :)
The timing trick, which tournament squads know how to do, is getting that 2nd Hook RIGHT before they turn on the Generators. Thus the timer won't run out and when unhooked you are there to take the 3rd down and DS at the clutch moment.

This idea came from Otz when I watched his stream yesterday. What do you think of it?
I'm of the opinion, 100% that it should not activate during the End Game Collapse, although I'm not sure I would go so far as to say it won't activate at all when all five Generators are done. If they got all five Generators done and were able to 99 the gates without being stopped, just to setup a DS to then get everyone out, it would be overkill. Do you see where I'm going with this? If they had the time to do all that, they sure as heck didn't need the DS to make the trick work.
But I agree with him that it should be prevented from resulting in an easy 4 escape just by saving one for the EGC.

So I just had a match with a legion I am purple rank and he was red rank. I finally got caught downed and he just nodded at me and hooked then hooked me. I wasn't bothered much but then as soon as I got saved he tunnelled me down. He then downed me and then nodded at me again like to say "got you".
This is annoying I wouldn't be bothered but to nod after they tunnel you down. Honestly as well I play both sides I never nod only if I am saying yes to allow someone to take the hatch. I honestly don't really have a problem with it just to tunnel off the hook each time and to be nodded at it can be annoying. I also don't teabag and I didn't flashlight or BM.
No, it doesn't really bother me. I wish we had MORE options as the Killer to communicate. We can whack things with our weapon or we can nod; that's it. I personally wish we could draw our hand across our throats while staring at someone to indicate the classic, "you are dead."

I'm too new to have an opinion on this. When this game first came out I tried it briefly as I'm a horror fan. However, when this game first came out it didn't look that good and seemed to have all sorts of problems. I played it like three times as a Survivor and then moved on to other things. That is not enough for me to have known what it was like back then. And now, my only REAL experience with the game is now, as I've only been in since about August or September.
What I can say is this:
- In ranks 12-20 the game is definitely (assuming no Smurfs) weighted toward the Killer. This is because it is a 4v1 and none of the four Survivors work well, coordinate, or know what they should be doing to maximize time and rescues. It makes it seem very Killer-sided. The game isn't, but when you are all potatoes, the Killer certainly profits because they don't rely on anyone.
- The games are the most even between 11-5 in my experience, and this is assuming the matchmaking is doing a decent job of putting like Ranks with like Ranks. I find it does work best in the MIDDLE rather than the two extremes. I suspect the Bell Curve of statistics is what is screwy with the Matchmaking. Regardless, here is where the Killer and the Survivors are pretty evenly matched and where I had my hardest fights.
- The Red Ranks, which some say are impossible for the Killer, are definitely weighted slightly to the Survivors. Everyone there knows (or should know) what they are doing, how to maximize time and get Generators up wicked fast. They know how to loop like no tomorrow and you encounter a lot more SWF, and the rarer and more powerful Tournament Squads. That being said, you also run into the Superstar Killers now and then. Please bear in mind that while I say the Red Ranks are leaning toward Survivors now, it isn't impossible to overcome. The Superstars just don't care. Many of them can't tell the difference between Red Rank Survivors and potatoes anymore because they have simply gotten so good.
This game is nothing but crazy variables. Luck will always play a factor, but over the course of matches and time, skill does win out. That is why certain people like Otz can go on crazy streaks wiping the floor with all Red Rank Survivors, or I can watch Monto bullseye someone with a clown bottle on the other side of the map. It is also why there are Survivors who can still go 1v1 with me in endless loops when I'm no longer a slouch. :) *Please note I'm no where NEAR the league of the Superstars. I am "competent" now and win my games far more often than I lose them. But I digress, so let's get back to the point. Some people say this isn't a competitive game. That is nonsense. Of course it is competitive; it is a PvP game. Will the game ever be perfectly balanced? No, of course not. You can't have this many variables and have perfect balance. This isn't Chess. This is more like a "sport" because you never know what you are going to get. Some people are just better inclined, have better equipment, had better training and so on. That doesn't mean you don't play the game. You don't take your ball and go home. What it means is that you have to accept that no matter how much you practice, no matter how well you play, there are always going to be people better than you by no fault of your own. We play for love of the game, not the outcome. Sure we all want to win, but wins alone are NOT why we are here. If that were the case, we all would have been gone long before we got good enough to win more than we lose.

I feel like 30% of all those killers I see are running afk bot software because they don't move, don't chase, do nothing at all. And there is like nothing you can do. Saying "finish the match and move on" is a sh*t move too because most players burn bloodpoint offerings to increase the value of the match throught specific actions like Altruism for example, or Boldness, but you simply can't do that and when you face these killers like in every 3-4 match on a regular basis.
Doesn't matter if they have perks or don't have any, it feels like this game turned into an afk bot simulator.
I call them Santa Killers. Some of them are doing it out of some weird sense of generosity. Some of them don't like the map or real life literally took them AFK and they don't want to disconnect and register a ban. Sometimes they are Venus Flytraps, i.e. acting like they are Santa Killers and working to juice up in some way. Never trust a Myers that just stands there. There is a good chance they have a the Fragrant Tuft of hair and are just waiting for you to charge him up to infinite Tier-3. Combined with Blood Warden and a few other end game Perks this is hilarious to do... once... but overall tedious.
I don't tend to report them because the Survivors "can" earn a bunch of free points, stay as little or as long as they want, and it is really only the Killer that loses out. I don't report the Venus Flytraps because that is a valid, if hilariously weird strategy.

Well, as the DEV has stated, DS is not an Anti-Tunnel Perk. The fact that many of insist on calling it that has little to no bearing on reality. DS is just something they came up with for Strode originally to fit the first Halloween movie where she does in fact stab the Shape with improvised weapons.
DS does need changes, but they are very simple.
- DS activates after every unhook, i.e. yes it can be used more than once.
- It lasts for 30, 45, 60 seconds depending on Level.
- Nothing pauses the timer.
- Interacting with your environment in any way other than running, vaulting, and/or entering or exiting lockers deactivates it.
- It will not activate during the EGC but if already started it will continue until deactivated by the end of the timer or interacting with the environment.
That's it. That is all it would take to keep the flavor of the Perk and make it focused on being an anti-Tunnel Perk. You can use it more than once, but you cannot abuse it to do other things. It is for getting away, period.

Aw people didn't want to stick around for the crappy party you threw for them? Go figure.
You are missing the point, and proving mine at the same time. You get that right? Every match is one where the Killer means the Survivor's harm. Putting them on hooks is the entire point of the Killer's existence. Thus, the crappy party is a given, i.e. a KNOWN thing. The question is why are people choosing to play this game if they lack the skills or spine to finish it? Why did they show up in the first place? By your attitude, am I to take it you are one of these people? I don't want to assume.
More to the point, the person who disconnected didn't know I was a Spooky Myers yet. It was twenty-five seconds in and he/she just got a peek at me standing above. This person quit because they knew they were in a dead zone and were going to get hit. They quit because they are the kind of sniveling worm that quits the second they don't get a good start. My challenge to you is to explain your attempt at humor in your statement. Explain the logic of it.

What program do you use to record?
I use a Nvidia Graphics card so there is built in recording for it. I just hit Alt-Z and it springs into action via a Geoforce app.
