The DC Penalty mechanic is something that this game has had for years and it's something that, as of at least 7.1.0, is a completely obsolete mechanic with too many exploits to go around.
Developers, I need you to consider the following reasons as to why we do not need the DC Penalty and why I think it should be completely removed for all players outright:
- A recent change made in the 7.1.0 PTB allows Survivors to become Bots upon disconnecting. This allows players that still want to play the match feel like they can still win as Survivor and gives the Killer a fairer match (and sometimes a better Survivor in the process). This comes without a removal of the disconnect penalty which is too much of a punishment since you can be replaced.
- Additionally, there is a new exploit to completely counter getting disconnect Bots into the match, which is to just sacrifice yourself on the hook. This exploit completely circumvents the new system and gives no chance for a fair or winnable match for Survivors, or a fair match for the Killer, and this exploit does not trigger a disconnection penalty.
- On top of that exploit, there is still an exploit in the game that completely circumvents the penalty as a whole. That exploit is when you disconnect during the offering screen or the pre-match loading screen. This does not do a DC penalty even though you have accepted to play the match out, leading to an inconsistency in the system.
- When a player disconnects, all other players in the match still cannot disconnect from the game or else they will also be punished for disconnecting from the match. This means that players will end up being stuck in a match they either feel is no longer winnable or will no longer be fun to play in. Even with the addition of bots, this feature still doesn't feel nice to have.
- At any point in the match that a player disconnects, they will still receive some sort of disconnect penalty. This can even occur at the very end of the match when all Generators are done or all Survivors are hooked or even if you're being sacrificed by the Killer. This flaw in the system means that you get punished even after the game is over for you, just because you didn't want to watch the 15 second long death animation or want to try and contest the gates. If people want to leave after they know they've lost the match, they should leave without any penalty.
All of these factors combined lead to a disconnect penalty system that is obsolete and shouldn't remain in the game. Players shouldn't feel like they should be obligated to play a match that someone disconnects from or that they aren't having fun in and not be able to find a match that they might actually enjoy playing.
Instead of keeping the current Disconnection Penalty, you need to look at alternatives to it in order to ensure that players have reason to keep playing without giving them a reason to play another game instead.
In fact, the best alternative that I could give you to a timer-based Disconnection Penalty is this:
- Upon disconnecting, you lose two Pips from your current Pip system. If you de-pip below 0 Pips on your current grade, you now regress back to the previous grade. This applies even in Max Grade.
- Continuously disconnecting after 3 matches will steadily increase the amount of pips lost, up to 6 Pips.
- Playing a match to its entirety will reset the system.
This would be a significantly fairer punishment for Survivors and Killers that want to disconnect, making it so that they could possibly lose out on getting the end-of-the-season Bloodpoint rewards because they felt inclined to disconnect, while also making it so that players who care more about getting into matches faster can still do so.
Anything can work so long as we just don't have the current system. The current system is both flawed in its utility and bad for the overall health of the game and even pointless considering all of the above factors.
Please just get rid of the timer or give us something to replace the timer.
I think the DC'ing penalty is to also give yourself a break, if you're rage quitting more than and more it just makes sense that it should increase. If apex did this a long time ago that game wouldn't be as bad as it is nowadays.

I've prestiged my Nea to 100 a while back, and have hundred and hundreds of items that I will never use. I think it would be helpful and effective to allow players to sell back their items that they won't use to earn back some bloodpoints, depending on the rarity. Thoughts? Has anyone else thought this or posted this discussion before? For example, I have over 1,000 brown med kits and toolboxes. I will probably be long gone before I use any of these up. I would like to sell some of these to rearn BP for the bloodweb. Really curious on everyones thoughts
We should be able to resell items for iri shards.

ok, im glad you see the potential design problem.
I think it would be better if the game had much less movement speed effecting perks etc. Because even if we gave powers longer cooldowns based on the killer's speed, if it got to the point one day where there were so many perks etc which were giving move speed buffs then the game would be chaos. You would not know how long you could run a loop or (assuming your suggestion came into play) how long the killer's power cooldown was going to be. And this scenario if we got to that point would suck for both new and experienced players. So I do hope that the devs start to create less haste effects.
Also I agree I love going against Bubba who goes for chases, he is far from OP though I have no idea what those people are talking about. If anything he needs his chilis to get nerfed and be added to his base kit because a bubba without those is rough.
From your last point, I think the reason why this game doesn't feel scary after you play it for a while is because everything is so expected now and threat is based off of radius mainly. Tinkerer for example, if you don't see the killer it can be one hell of a jump scare. This game definitely needs more random interactions to help mix things up.

Well yes but no; there is a lot of application for it though, since using that knowledge in conjunction with other stuff allows for a huge amount of skill expression, which is why I specifically included "...and..." when listing skillful things since it's more than a single moving part, it is multiple parts coming together.
I'd personally put learning lunge distance down with muscle memory. Just takes time to learn that's all.

Oh, well. Won’t derail the topic at hand dwelling on it.
I read yesterday there was a thread posted on here giving genuine feedback and that was deleted as well. It's currently still posted up on Reddit and that's a prime example of abuse of power because I read through it and the person said nothing wrong at all.
Don't even worry about derailing the topic at hand at this point.

that is one of biggest problems in dbd for a lot of killer at higher-level of play. Abilities need to be spammable and hyper effective because of generator efficiency in this game. The top 1-2% survivor are far too adept at looping m1 killers because loops are too safe and too strong. The ability of killer is only saving grace for killers to be competitively viable against strong teams.
Yeah I'd love to reply to that but breathing is an issue on this forum now, I'll probably get my oxygen taken away by a mod for typing a sentence.

My post was deleted too. I think I'm done with the forum. Took a week off and come back to the same old crap.
Exact same thing here. You and me are having a civilised conversation. I know from both sides we don't mean ill. Yet we can't even do that without being censored. I literally wrote 3 different posts and 1 was completely deleted and 2 were edited. This post is most likely going to get deleted or edited too and I'm probably going to get a ban on top of that. There's no point even making any posts at this point if you can't even say what's on your mind anymore, it goes from being your own words to someone else's entirely, I might as well not even waste my time posting at all.
I googled this issue as well, it seems there's a reddit post about it stating the EXACT SAME issue from 3 years ago and people have commented on it from time to time stating the exact same frustrations.

With 4 survivors gen time become 180 secs

The idea is buff surv speed doing gens when the less surv are in game.
This is too severe, there's definitely other ways to reduce tunnelling before going to extreme lengths.

It does remove from the experience though. It is like how ghost face's power by default took 30 whole seconds to come back, it felt so bad because you basically could not use your power. This suggestion can put killers in a similar spot and that is just a design nightmare and it just makes things super boring since you will use your power and then be on hold for however long. I am not bored of the game, but having long cooldowns for most powers would definitely make me bored.
"It does remove from the experience though" - this is the exact type of reply I want. I didn't think of it like that.
I'm not suggesting like 50s cd's etc, I just want certain killers who are really strong in a chase to have a bigger CD for the sheer power they have. Like leatherface for example, some people say he's OP, I say he's really fun to be chased by and it does get tense when he almost gets you, but at the same time when he has a stupid amount of movement speed it's almost impossible to win against that, then when the killer has clear speed hacks with that killer it's definitely impossible to win lmao
Maybe the solution could be the following; when a killer has faster movement speed they also receive a longer cooldown. What do you think?

This is a TAKEEE if I’ve ever seen one.
Right…. Me using blight’s rushes is no skill and brainless… but me just running around clicking m1 is skillful and requires maximum brain input.
Its not very often a thread baffles me..
Ok so let's go by your logic.
Apparently pressing the ability button and sprinting at a faster speed than all survivors and having such a high DPI takes skill?
The CONCEPT of M1'ing doesn't take skill, but outplaying a survivor with an M1 takes skill around pallets.
NOTHING about having high DPI and increased movement speed takes skill. You can argue that all you want but it's true.

"There's no skill" but there are Killer powers which are objectively difficult to learn/master.
Hillbilly is a prime example, curving is difficult, and most people dont even bother to play them because the trouble of learning how to curve is not even worth the payoff since curving is counterable.
When playing Demogorgan, I have to learn the distance at which I can hit my Shred, how far the Shred goes based on how long I hold my power (i.e. "Do I go for a Long Shred or Short Shred), and using map knowledge to use collision in conjunction with my Shred to gain distance or get into unique spots.
There is skill application with Killer powers, likewise you are punished for misusing your power in most cases (e.g. reloading as Huntress, missed-hit cooldowns for literally any power that has it like Pig, Blight, Demogorgan, Billy, etc.).
Learning the range of something isn't a skill mastery, its basic knowledge once you've done it for a few days.

This is the situation for majority of it. Standing in the middle of the hallway for both upstairs and downstairs isn't enough space to deploy it. As a result, flame turrets were deployed in low traffic areas or not at all, resulting in the Xenomorph having their ability for most of the match. For sure needs a killswitch.
Turrets just need better placement pathing that takes up less space in general to fix this issue. It would be cool to place a turret at a window so it can shoot through it as the killer is coming down the hallway too, this would also stop a survivor vaulting that window.

It doesn't technically need a reward. Remember some people will play it just because they like added difficulty. I mean we have people that absolutely love playing Singularity and Billy despite other killers being able to do the same thing ten times more easily. I certainly see myself running something like it if I wanted to play a five perk gimmick game or something similar.
I agree but the core player base would not bother with this change then. As for the reward aspect I was referring to "Rewarding to good players that carry major risks if you misplay.", or did you just mean the reward would be gratification?

Honestly I didn't read your other replies lmao, but if you're not suggesting the change for all killers and just some then we're basically agreeing haha, I have nothing against the idea of changing the cooldown of killers who need it, I was just worried about this idea seemingly applying to all killers.
Oh I knew you didn't read them lmao that's why I brought it up. I think some killers are in a good place already, others need nerfing and the rest need buffing. Maybe the next few patches can address this and hopefully freddy gets some much needed love sometime soon at the very least.

@TrueGuardian32 said:
I play both, and I will give my input.
I have always been a fan of risk/reward. It is why Billy is such a rewarding Killer if you can hit your attacks. But since then the design philosophy has changed from risk/reward to casual difficulties for killer powers. Killers like Knight for example, despite being a fun killer to play. It is what people would call braindead.
My thoughts is that there should be an addon or addon set for each killer that turns the killer from a casual killer to a risk/reward killer. Rewarding to good players that carry major risks if you misplay.
Killer abilities shouldn't be a complete replacement for m1 but in some cases it is.
Also one more perk slot would be so nice as killer. I could throw on four chase perks and then a gen regress for my fifth. Or five anti pallet perks. Enduring, Spirit Fury, Hubris, Dissolution, and the new Chucky blinding perk.
Say it was to be added as an addon, what would you suggest this reward be to entice killers to use it?
I can see killers avoiding this addon and continuing the flow of the game like normal.
I also feel as though this game should be more scary too.

The problem is encouraging killers to m1 more just makes things more boring. If I am having to m1 all the time then what is the difference between each killer? The whole point of each killer's identity is their power and making this worse just seems so counter intuitive.
Neither adding nor removing any particular features but adding a bigger cooldown to abilities in general does not remove the uniqueness of each killer. It does not do anything except reduce the availability of the ability in general. This is you more so you nit-picking about not being able to spam something that is easily abuseable in the game in it's current state.
"just makes things more boring" - this suggests you already find the game boring.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3590661#Comment_3590661
I'm having a hard time picturing how that would work for many killers. Would that mean trapper can't trap for some time, huntress can't reload etc ? And more generally for killers that are slower, are they still slower when they can't use their power or would they become 4.6 ?
Even without talking about balance I don't think the idea of making all killers M1 most of the time would be any fun, as I said it would tone down their individuality. As a consequence it's possible it would actually bring them closer in terms of strength but I'd personally rather keep more diverse killers at the cost of a slightly better balance.
And as a general rule I think power related changes should all be done in a case by case basis because they're all unique and at least somewhat different.
Using huntress and trapper as examples is horrible. I posted directly above yours that killers like huntress are fine. It's more for killers like blight who can run across the entire map in general, or sprint, hit you, you drop down off of high ground, before you've even had a chance to move 5 ft they've already got their sprinting ability back and rushing you.
Movement is a huge factor in this game but that shouldn't be affected, just the cooldown timers for most killers that are able to spam it. All killers would still be unique the only difference is killers wouldn't be able to spam the same ability all game long and they would actually have to strategize to get kills.
This could also pave the way for survivors having to do more gens in general or even another task entirely to escape.
"And as a general rule I think power related changes should all be done in a case by case basis because they're all unique and at least somewhat different." - I agree with this statement and that's also what I would expect from the dev's as well but decreasing the availability of spamming abilities would possibly reduce the amount of fun but it can still work. Look at call of duty for example, OG MW2 had "noobtubes" for example that you could spam all the time, nowadays you're not able to spam stuff like that but the game is still thriving as a whole. I really think nothing can be certain without physically testing it first.

Before anyone says that I just want to be toxic, that's not why I want it removed.
It's become very clear that this addition has achieved nothing. Killers who want to camp still camp, killers who didn't before still don't. The only difference is that they either
- Stand ever so slightly further away than they used to.
- Face-camp with tombstone to entirely bypass endurance.
A near-useless feature that adds yet-another bar new survivors have to ascertain the meaning of (and new killers have to learn the existence of) is the definiton of bloat. So remove it.
From my experience I have seen possibly 2 games where I have been clearly facecamped. Maybe roughly 30 games where the killer has camped the hook subtly. But there has been a clear decline in facecamping as a whole since the update.
I will say however that if a killer does want you dead then you won't be leaving that game alive regardless lol. I feel like it should stay as somewhat of a deterrent to stop the awful facecamping/tunnelling that was witnessed in the game before because let me tell you, it really was open season on survivors.
Edit: it's actually funny, not even an hour after posting this I did get a trapper face camping me. Maybe it's slowly on the rise once again.

This is the most used perk. It's not just a noob info perk. Its usage is extremely high in high mmr matches, to the point where almost every survivor has it. Stats from a few months ago show it was the most popular perk (all MMR).

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3504400#Comment_3504400
The strength of the perk is being able to avoid dead zones and immediately understand how to run a tile.
WOO sounds like it's OP but it really isn't. The survivor may know where the pallets are now but if they don't know how to loop then the perk is all but useless. Killers have perks that almost instantly destroy a pallet once it's dropped which makes it a disadvantage for a survivor to have WOO.
Running from pallet to pallet is also a good way to throw the entire game for the rest of your teammates because this game is mainly centred around attrition. I've seen this happen on multiple occasions too. I used this perk when I first started playing and it definitely helped understand the game and where pallets are but I was still hot trash at the time. Maybe this perk being the most used perk ATM could also mean the game is getting a huge influx of players.

It's difficult to not speculate when your suggestion is this vague. What does "be a luxury" means to you ?
Do you mean all cooldowns should be longer, doubled, all the same ? That killers should earn their power with some kind of new mechanic ? That their power grows stronger / weaker as the game progresses ?
What you're saying could mean a lot of different things, but if what you're suggesting is a significant change then I stand by my assumption that this would lessen killer individuality and render the role a lot more boring.
You're right my apologies. What I mean by it is that killer abilities should have much more of a cooldown in general to warrant having to use their basic ability as their main attack rather than as an attack that's not used for 90% of the game.

Obviously my post was towards killers who can spam it, huntress in general is fine minus her hitbox.

No ? Killer powers already have cooldowns. Whether or not these cooldowns are too much or not is an other discussion and a case by case thing, but making them a "luxury" makes no sense.
The killer is alone against 4 survivors, just giving them a 5th perk (and from a limited pool at that) wouldn't cut it.
It would also make killers just a bunch of boring M1 killers with no individuality most of the time.
I mean.. your post is merely speculation at this point. It's not been tried and tested so who knows until that actually happens in the PTB?
I made a post recently stating that killers should get Ruin as base kit because it gives so much more of a reason to do totems and not genrush as fast so believe me when I say I have this games best interest at heart.

Huntresses hatchets in general.. that hitbox is an entirely different post lol, I did make one about it stating that the further away you are from the killer the bigger the hitbox should be because getting hit over a loop when your body is completely hidden and being hit around corners is another joke in its entirety.

{Looks at Pyramid Head, looks at the community, looks back at Pyramid Head and wonders why nobody complains about him}
Seriously, it is kinda funny how many people complain about how "unfair the infection is if Wesker tunnels" but for some reason nobody complains about PH who can do the same as easily.
If you go against Wesker you have all the anti tunnel options you have basekit AND those you bring with you. If PH decides you go to the cage, you get nothing. No BT, no DS/OTR/DH, no Second Wind, no Deli, no We'll make it, nothing.
You just complain about Wesker because he is more popular than PH and therefore the chance of a Wesker who tunnels is higher than having a tunneling PH in that one out of 30 matches you see one.
Also: what do you define as tunneling? Was it reasonable for the killer to tunnel that survivor? How many gens were left? I can't condemn a killer who tunnels when 2 gens are left, but I can understand your frustration if that happened at 5 or 4 gens.
I think that reducing the infection to 1/100 charges after getting hooked is enough. Even with both infection addons you have about 60s until you get slowed down (this includes a M2 hit during endurance), which is the timer for DS, which is an anti tunnel perk. No need to remove it completely or make it stop in chase or what not.
I think PH should have the stupid animation for two attacks being joined together at the same time removed. You physically have 0.5s to react to it and if you're being hit dead on it's impossible to dodge.
I also don't want to hear the argument for "Oh he's a weak killer" OFCOURSE he ill be weak when no compared to something else but this stupid degen play (because it literally is low quality play) is physically impossible to counter, especially when he walks towards you while forcing you to a wall/pallet loop unless you can fake it and this will only work a limited amount of times.

For the more in depth reasoning behind my thoughts please read my additional comments thank you.
having the ONE killer with only FOUR perks total have to jump through multiple hoops with extremely specific requirements to activate a single perk once, while also having the FOUR survivors with FOUR PERKS EACH needing only one EXTREMELY easy requirement to activate multiple perks at a time makes no sense at all and is totally bs.
instead they should be reversed with survivors having to jump through multiple hoops and killer needing only simple tasks, this would make sense because this game is a GOD DAMN 4v1, with survivors already having an easier objective then killers this just seems like an obvious idea.
like come on with stuff like bbq and chilli being considered a strong aura reading perk for the killer while being useless on smaller maps and outright negated by certain survivor perks is saying something. While survivors also have ######### like MTF that only requires you to be injured to keep haste buff PERMANENTLY ACTIVE!!!
PLEASE BHVR FIX THIS
I mean... killers can finish games within 6 minutes too.. It's really not the perks, sorry.

I think ruin is a little under powered atm but its very easy to make it broken again. The only thing I would suggest would be increase regression by 10%-20%. Any more changes and it will easily be super oppressive again.

The only real change worth mentioning is the addon which increases the range of her tail, way too strong in loop situations (it can hit you across the range of 2-3 boxes which is almost double a pallet range. Apart from that she's fine how she is.

And it's clear from the almost 8 years of DBD existing on console that it will never be enabled.

I also played that game extensively at the start up until season 7. I've played almost every good game that's worth it to play over the years, I know my stuff dude. Just like I also know you can plug in your controller to COD Mobile and the skill gap is crazy.

OOOOHHHH so you don't want to use mouse and keyboard, no one else should be allowed to I understand now. Thank you.
I never said no one else should be allowed to, I said multiple times its considered an unfair advantage by almost every controller player because they understand the difference a keyboard and mouse bring Vs a Controller. My original point still stands, if you want to use a keyboard and mouse to play DBD go buy a PC.

if anyone can buy a mouse and keyboard why shouldn't they be allowed to use it? There isn't an advantage if anyone can use it. Mouse and keyboard gets enabled on consoles. Anyone can buy a mouse and keyboard and no one is at a disadvantage anymore when it comes to player input.
Say BHVR decided to enable it for PS5 Users so anyone could buy a mouse and keyboard plug them in then play DBD on PS5 with a mouse and keyboard. If anyone wants to use mouse and keyboard they now can. You're already playing with PC players so why would you be against Ps5 players being allowed to use the peripheral of their choosing when other platforms already let them choose?
The simplest decision is actually to just let people play with mouse and key on console it is already enabled for pc so that wouldn't be difficult.
Like I just don't understand how you think that letting console players use mouse and keyboard is a problem when you already play against pc players who use them. What is the problem with letting everyone use them?
There's a reason Console was made with controller in mind and not Mouse and Keyboard. People like myself will never use a keyboard when it comes to games and will always stick to controller.
Just because its enabled and you & OP use it doesn't mean it still won't become a crutch when against a controller players.
Just because there's crossplay doesn't mean the disadvantage is not there every single time you play against a MnK killer. Allowing MnK on console won't just magically make this skill crutch disappear, it will make it worse.
There are a lot of players use console and would prefer to play against console killers only but without queue times the console lobbies are ridiculously long.
The biggest reason here though is because there are more cheaters in general on PC. If its enabled then that paves the way for a cheater to modify the keyboard in a way where macros and other such types of stuff comes to play.
As for this particular argument, there are hundreds if not thousands of forums, reddits, etc etc all over the internet explaining why K&M should not be pit against controller players. I don't see many K&M killers but when I do they can do unnatural things, one being able to 360 around really tight loops out in the open. I've NEVER seen a controller killer do that.
Here is one such post, about the argument between Console vs K&M take a gander:

Without Cross Progression few players would slide over to a PC and start from scratch, rebuying everything and losing whatever accumulated limited stuff. I certainly won't, and those that have done so most likely did it because they lost hope in Cross Progression ever coming.
This is why just saying "get a PC then" is not a viable solution. It's punting and starting over, tossing away whatever hours and money. Kinda like don't want to stay but neatly boxed in.
There shouldn't be drastic differences in what platform a decently big game is played on, but for a multitude of reasons DBD is such a game. M&K support is not an unreasonable request.
The simplest solution which I mentioned earlier which both parties are happy with I'm sure is to allow cross progression, which I said I'm all for.
And you may not, but my friend did a few months ago and he's not been back on Console, he knows everything is 10X better on PC and he also knows it's a clear advantage.
"There shouldn't be drastic differences in what platform a decently big game is played on" - yes, there shouldn't be, but there is a huge skill gap between controller and K&M. If this were to happen then I'd also expect 360'ing to be adjusted to be a lot easier on Controller than it currently is.

Call of duty allows MnK on PS5 they don't consider it to be cheating. So does fortnite. These Dev companies enable it because it isn't cheating. Elden Ring and Dark souls are multiplayer and I pvp quite a bit in those games.
You playing dbd means you're already playing against players with MnK. Since cross play is a thing you should have zero issues with ps5 players also having MnK support enabled. After all COD and Fortnite both offer it. Those games are competitive and COD has better anti-cheat detection than microsoft does. What they do doesn't penalize the players by forcing them onto devices that do not feel comfortable for them
XIM once again remains unaffected with microsofts method.
Street fighter 6 has a million dollar prize pool for its grand finale tournament where all these fight sticks that can no longer be used on xbox are completely legal and not considered cheat devices. Some of these Controllers cost upwards of $400 usd that can no longer be used on xbox. TOURNAMENT LEGAL CONTROL DEVICES.
you should not be happy about this at all. you think it will stop cheat devices. It won't they will just finding away around msoft and everyone else who isn't cheating will now be punished.
At the end of the day If i want to use a DS5 controller on an XBOX I should be able to, and Vice Versa. You could with brooks wingman adapter. But you can't now on xbox. Nope forced to play with a controller you may not like.
With these devices are now blacklisted but the actual people in charge of making rules for their games okay them, that is not okay and you should not be okay with microsoft using a false narrative to line their pockets at the expense of legit players. All that will do is drive them off the platform.
What microsoft is doing/has done is not good for gamers on their platform. It will not prevent XIM, or other products like XIM.
I'm actually thankful that sony has decided to let players use MnK I hope more devs enable it. They absolutely should it would even the playing field a lot when it comes to games that are pc/console cross play. XBOX should do the same.
Yes but when they allow them peripherals on controller they also lock the players into PC only lobbies, because they know it's a clear crutch vs controller.
XBOX/Microsoft and PlayStation have been on bad terms for years. Even with exclusives alone so I doubt they'd come to similar terms in the way they limit the availability of devices, sadly.
The problem with wanting to use a DS5 controller on an Xbox is it's their product, they will always decide who uses what and regardless of what we think, we have no say in that unless enough people are against it and set up petitions etc, which I honestly haven't seen anything of the sort, yet.
The controller banning system is really new so I'm sure XIM is on their list of external devices to ban in the future and hopefully sometime soon because it is a device that cheaters do use almost regularly, they just need to figure out how to actually detect this first.
The "war" against cheaters will always be an ongoing one until companies like Microsoft look to get official government rules regulated, yet that will most likely never happen because it's legal for companies to create cheats etc. I think if gaming companies for single player games want cheats on their game then that should also be fine.
There will never been an even playing field until console can achieve at least 240 frames, which could also be sometime in the next 3 years since that's when the new xbox/PS6 is supposedly patented to be released.

Honestly idk. 1 year ago (so when I first started playing) it felt awful, but then again I was trash at the game lmao, it definitely feels like it's improved since then. You have good games, you have semi-decent games but then you have really bad games and you can kind of tell the bad players are just new.. so, maybe it's more to do with new players being put in really low MMR lobbies when they first come to play rather than actual MMR rating?
And no I'm not trying to have a dig at you or your MMR.
Maybe it's also time we had new ranks to climb as well? We should definitely have at least 2 more ranks after iri to climb.

if you look into it the real cheat devices already circumvent what microsoft has implemented. The only thing microsoft has done is allowed their wallets to get lined by 3rd parties having to pay for certification or selling more 1st party peripherals instead of 3d party.
those cheat devices plug into official devices completely crapping on microsofts supposed "anti cheat device counter measure". This measure is a gigantic slap in the face to people who use accessibility controllers, fight sticks, 3d party steering wheels or basically anything but official microsoft controllers. This is not good especially in communities like the Fighting Game Community. Some of whom pay hundreds of dollars for custom controllers that are 100% legal in the community.
I hope playstation never does this, and i hope microsoft reverses course on the matter but why would they, they stand to make bank off this. That is the only reason they're making this change. Its not for the players.
Playstation already allows players to use keyboard and mouse for gaming, its just up to the devs to enable the support for it. I play elden ring and dark souls on ps5 with mouse and keyboard. Just a regular old mouse and keyboard nothing fancy. So DBD should enable this for ps5 as well.
if you look into it the real cheat devices already circumvent what microsoft has implemented. - It's only a matter of time before Microsoft realise this and block that particular external device too though, this was their first attempt to stop cheaters and I'm sure it will be a long time until it will be the last.
I'm all for K&M support for a game that is single player, but when it comes to multiplayer games players will always go the easy route to cheat. XIM has been a HUGE issue of debate lately for shooters because it allows you to increase your fire rate faster than the base game allows as well as giving you no recoil for guns, that device alone plagued apex legends for years and still does to this day.
I'm more than happy for Microsoft to gain more monetary return if it reduces the chances of cheating in general and makes games much more enjoyable as a whole like they were 10 years ago as skill has gone completely out the window nowadays and its honestly shocking how bad it really is. If the device is legal within the community then I'm sure the governing party overseeing what is allowed and not allowed will eventually re-enable the ability to use them again after they've physically checked the device themselves.
The issue isn't the device, it's how the person intends to use the device. I can quickly see this going downhill even faster than it's currently doing. So for someone such as yourself using it for Single player games, I have no issue with that, but for games you play for tournaments and games of that nature, its always more common to find players who intend to cheat to the fullest extent. The more you limit their capabilities; the more future proof the game will be.

you knew what impression you were leaving when you said "Just buy a pc" like dont play dumb, a title is a quick summary but before you reply how about reading the explanation of it? Again, kinda the whole point of a post, theres a title, but also a actual fleshed out explanation. Don't act ignorant to it. Cheating? Really? What advantage could console have with mnk support? Pc/steam is miles better with a million advantages then console. Steam has controller support and cross play is enabled so again, whats REALLY your problem? If you just are bored and wanna argue then fine but it wont be with me. im not replying after this, have a good day...
Mate, if someone states the obvious, "if you want to play on M&K then buy a PC" and then you get offended by that statement, then again get offended by me replying to someone else in the thread, then I reply to your question and you call me "dumb", "ignorant", and then even to go as far as to assume I'm "bored" and I want to "argue" then it's clearly YOU that has the problem.
A title is a quick summary of the post. If that's not what you wanted the main point of the topic to be about then you should've stated that clearly in the title. (which you didn't), instead you decide to create this fake argument assuming it's me that has an issue.
The MAIN issue keyboard does better than a controller is movement, which is a good 95% of this game. Like I said in the first post, if you want to use Mouse and Keyboard then use a PC. Just because there's controller support on PC doesn't mean it feels just like it does on controller either because of how steam works with their controller tuning. The same can't be said about using M&K on Console because a keyboard is input based. (an example would be how easy it is to 360 vs on controller). Since we're also taking about acting ignorant, don't act ignorant to the movement capabilities a keyboard provides in this game.
You've stated the following: "Pc/steam is miles better with a million advantages then console", this explains why you want M&K on Console and don't want to move over to PC. Hey, it was your words not mine.
I will also reiterate, I stated this "Oh, and I'm all for Cross progression, I have no issues with that at all. I think if you changed the title to that this post would definitely gain a lot more traction on this forum." to which you blanked, so it's clearly not me who has an issue, it's you.

Couldn't tell you the numbers only the devs have those.
But any killer can focus on just a single surv for whatever reason. When most killers do it they can turn the tide in their favor, or early in the trial to make things much easier on themselves. Tunneling for example can often be stupidly effective, but of course it feels awful for the target though.
However in the case of my beloved Piggy doing what you describe in most cases will cost her the match. The other survs should all escape, and the Pig depip and get few bloodpoints too.
If it's solely to watch that one head pop, well... some people only wanna watch the world burn.
I'm happy for buffs to the pig as long as the I actually have a chance for my head to not "pop" lol. It doesn't happen to me every time I play agaisnt her but ofc but it definitely does happen to someone every time I play, Unless the killer has some morals and doesn't want to do that to survivors.
I will say though, something being super oppressive with hardly any counter play still can't stand just because a killer is weaker when compared to other killers. Buffing here is a whole other thread but this particular way of getting free kills is way too cheap and if done early and effectively enough can easily win you the game.
-
My problem is I don't want M&K support on console because it is usually the reason for gaining a clear advantage against others along with other issues, like cheating for example. Over the past 10 years or so cheating on games has started to become a huge issue. Microsoft's Xbox are taking their first step towards stopping cheating by only allowing official controllers to be useable. Hopefully PlayStation starts to do the same and who knows, maybe even somehow on PC they'll start cracking down on it.
Oh, and I'm all for Cross progression, I have no issues with that at all. I think if you changed the title to that this post would definitely gain a lot more traction on this forum.

Oh no, you got me, hm lol.
I was responding to a thread that wants matchmaking to be changed so PC users (most of the playerbase) can be excluded because their advantages are too great. I never said there wasn't a difference. Simply that the difference isn't enough to warrant changing matchmaking.
"People need to stop acting like playing killer/survivor on console is like having your kneecaps broken prior to the match starting"
And I was responding to this exact statement of yours because it simply isn't true, there is a huge difference between PC and Console. This particular discussion has been ongoing for years across multiple games, nothing will change the argument until Console can achieve 240+ frames at the bear minimum. Specs alone are just the easiest to point out. I do wish there were more Console killers but I know that will never happen with how easy it is on PC, a simple example of differentiation is 360'ing.
Also, if most of the playerbase is on PC then there would literally be no difference at all in queue times, maybe a few seconds at the most. I for one wouldn't be turning off crossplay even if the change was added (despite how much more challenging it is), I'm also sure the casual player wouldn't care to either. I will say though, I have a hell of a lot easier time when it comes to playing against console players vs PC players and it's usually a lot easier to spot a Console player too.
I would also like to add, I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of in-game/post game chat to be added on console so we can communicate with PC players. Even an external app for both platforms to download on their phones & PC and communicate with each other would be cool. It could also be used to monitor the toxicity of players easily too.
