During my three month break, I played Dark Souls 1-3, Sekiro, Nier Automata, Code Vein, and I also finished up Witcher 3.
I recommend every game I just listed.
-
I picked a bad time to take a three month break lol. The Ruin + Undying combo seems really awesome.
That said, the Undying nerf should have only been reduced to two transfers. I don't think two transfers is unreasonable.
-
That article was nice and all, but sometimes game developers are just bad at their jobs.
The DbD devs are constantly facing a lot of scrutiny because many people feel their balance decisions are biased.
Sure, the devs nerf both killers and survivors, but you have to keep in mind the power balance of each side. In other words, the devs can nerf survivors, but overall the survivor side is still stronger.
I think a lot of people feel the devs aren't moving quick enough to make the game more enjoyable for the average killer. DS + Unbreakable hasn't been changed. One player in a SWF squad can use OOO to give the others aura info. Keys haven't been nerfed properly. There are still certain maps with abysmal design. The list goes on and on.
These are all really important game balance issues. And yet nothing has been done (despite tons of feedback over the years from expert players who know the game really well).
Don't get me wrong, I'm not condemning the devs. I just wish they would change their priorities.
-
I just came back after a three month break. The latest changes seem alright to me for the most part.
The new UI needs some work. Right now it looks like a mobile game.
In terms of game balance overall, DbD is still survivor sided (generally speaking). DS+Unbreakble is still a combo, SWF can still use OOO, the map design is still abysmal. The list goes on and on.
To be honest, I was hoping the game would be in better shape. At least the Blight is fun to play. Right now Blight and Huntress are my two favorite killers.

I can only imagine that they want to do more with him in his own spotlight later on.
It was Clown's turn, and this small addition was simple & QoL enough to be added now.
Again, that's how i think it is.
Wraith already had his spotlight. And we all know what happened there.
Face it, if the devs really wanted to, they could have easily increased his cloaked movement speed.
-
Those of us who have played DbD for a few years know how these devs operate. Survivors have always been the stronger side (generally speaking).
-
And it won't be the last one either.
-
Not a fan. The new UI looks like a mobile game.
-
I prefer this...
-
You don't have to loop optimally against most killers. Depending on the map, you can just keep throwing down pallets and that will waste enough time for the gens to get done.
-
I'm all for supporting the FPS fix for console players.
But there's one thing I need to point out. PC players will have an advantage against console players because of superior hardware.
-
Hard to say.
After the Billy fiasco, part of me believes no killer is safe from unwarranted nerfs.
But at the same time the devs seem to really like Huntress (mostly because she is beloved by streamers).
-
I guess Haddonfield. That map is long overdue.

You gotta play 3 if you haven't! I've only played 3, so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really loved it and it was better received than 2.
I'm taking a short break from Dark Souls. I have Dark Souls 3 already installed and ready to play.

Paranoia Agent. I found the show on Adult Swim late at night one night when I was like 11, and that opening... I still randomly think about it from time to time because of how atmospheric it is.
Paranoia Agent has a great opening as well. Surprised to see someone mention it.
I heard the theme song is a little eccentric because when the show was first airing in Japan, it was given a late time slot. So the creator of the show wanted something to help wake up the people watching.
-
Hard for me to decide. There are a lot of great ones.
I'll go with HxH opening 5 because I think this opening has the best visuals.
https://youtu.be/a-Jttwd1ipIBut again, for me there's no clear winner.

Shirtless Julie skin first.

I just finished Dark Souls 2 on PC. Fantastic game. Not as good as Dark Souls 1, but still very good.
Aside from that, Diabolical is an arena FPS that is hot on my radar. I've been participating in the betas, and so far the game is looking good. Very high skill ceiling though. Most of the people playing are Quake veterans, which means if your aim isn't on point you're going to get wrecked fast.
I also enjoy building games like Fallout 4 and Cities Skylines. Building is a passion of mine. I'm even thinking of trying to create some stuff with the Unreal Engine (that involves a steep learning curve tho).
-
It really depends.
My initial reaction is to choose Pokemon because that universe is relatively peaceful.
There are video games worlds that are more interesting than Pokemon, but living there might not be a good idea. Take DBZ for example. If I was just a regular human, then living in the DBZ universe would mean potential annihilation (considering how much fighting there is). But if I had powers to match the other characters, then that would be different scenario (because I could protect myself).
Just depends on the context.
-
Yeah, sometimes I do.

Except Ruin didn't make a difference to the kind of survivors you mentioned. They just powered through and hit their skill checks. Or someone ran the totem down and it was gone in the first minute or two of the match. Literally all Ruin did was make me get better at hitting greats.

So, you don't like DH. And your plan is to make maps even more unsafe. So that you force survivors to use it to stand a chance?
You completely misunderstand.
Many of the maps are survivor-sided. Taking away some of the strong loops won't make DH a requirement.
Good survivors are very efficient at looping and thus don't need numerous strong loops to win.
One of the complaints killers have with the perk has to do with survivors using it to correct for mistakes (or recklessness). A survivor will use DH to reach a safe pallet and throw it down. Now the killer has effectively lost that chase.
It wouldn't be a huge problem if the maps weren't so safe survivors.
If maps were less safe then survivors couldn't rely on DH as much to cheese an easy escape. Instead, there would be more emphasis placed on skillful chases.

Personally, I would be fine with a shitload of unsafe Pallets (which are still useable, not stuff like Hawkins-Pallets or Temple of Purgation-Pallets) and a few safe Pallets per Map.
That's what I would like too. Instead of nerfing DH, just update the maps.
But you have to understand why people strongly dislike DH. There are still quite a few pallet heavy maps that make DH users a nightmare to play against.

Ok, you consider Badham Maps as safe? Oof. I guess you have bigger problems than Dead Hard then, Mate.
The other Maps mentioned (except maybe for The Game, I dont know) dont have that many Pallets. Let alone that Azarovs Resting Place is pretty good for Killer.
There are still numerous map variations that can spawn quite a few safe pallets (which is too many safe pallets). And of course, some maps are just naturally strong for survivors due to the number of safe pallets that usually spawn.
If you get a strong survivor map against survivors with DH, you're going to have a bad time as killer.
-
DH is only a problem because of bad map design.
I don't personally have a problem with DH, but for the perk to remain untouched, the devs need to replace some of the safe pallets with unsafe pallets or just remove some of the safe pallets entirely (depending on the map).
-
Dead Hard is the main reason I think more safe pallets should be replaced with unsafe pallets.
Survivors using DH to reach a safe pallet is very frustrating as killer.

-
BHVR excels at nerfing killers that don't need it. And even when nerfs are justified, they go overboard.
-
Try Huntress. The devs are somewhat biased in favor of Huntress. So, it's possible Huntress won't receive any major reworks.
But in light of recent events, I don't think even Huntress is safe anymore.
-
The only change Billy needed was his charge add ons being toned down π

Awww man that's a difficult choice. There are so many terrific options.
Hunter x Hunter has a lot of great characters. So maybe something from that series?
Guts from Berserk would also be pretty sweet. But knowing Guts, he'd devour and defecate the survivors within two minutes of the match starting lol.

Ok well my job as a killer is not to be a "good sport" I don't know where this mentality came from, survivors are not entitled to an escape just because they played well.
You're entitled to that opinion.
I don't share it because I thinking camping the last guy is pretty lazy.
I've played a lot of survivor, so I know what it feels like to watch the killer camp someone during the end game. It's quite boring.
But I should point out there are different levels of camping. If you stay near the hook with the hope of trying to catch someone else, then that's alright. Luckily, many killers try and do that to make the match a little more interesting. But if you simply face camp, well... that's admitting you've run out of options.
I've actually had a number of matches where I managed to safety pip by not not camping the last survivor. If you try and chase survivors at the end, the game usually rewards you. But if you hard camp, chances are you'll depip.
-
Because it's a desperate attempt to salvage a lost game.
But I can somewhat understand why killers do it. When you get beaten really badly, you might as well park yourself in front of the hooked survivor.
Personally, I try not to closely camp the hooked survivor. Because for me it's sporting to give the hooked person a chance. I'll usually wait for one of the survivors to get close enough and then chase after them. But it really depends on the game. If it was a fairly clean match, I usually don't camp. They won, so I'm okay with letting them escape. If the survivors tilted the match heavily in their favor then I don't feel so bad about camping. Just depends on the circumstances.

I play with controller on PC and hit most of my shots. He's pretty good.
Also all killers have to abide by the add on set rule. Surprised nobody mentioned this. He can't have 3 URs lol.
You play with a controller on PC? I would not recommend that.
You should definitely invest in a M&K.
-
I'm guessing because map reworks involve a lot more work?

Killers can't actually snowball in the endgame because of a weak link, it's only when the team decides to go with the gorilla strategy (Stack second chance perks, refuse to just leave, intentionally take hits over and over to try to secure a 4k) that killers turn losses into 3-4k's.
People should watch Showstopper's weekend showdown streams sometimes. Even with DS banned, survivors limited to two perks, and killer getting to choose a perk to ban, the SWF groups often make a complete mockery of every killer in the showdown. Because they just play to win the match, which is EXTREMELY easy for an organized group to do if they choose to.
Killers can definitely snowball off weak links. It happens all the time. I've done it myself as well.
With that said, it mostly happens when randoms are involved.

Yeah, and then he gets a 4k after survivors do everything in their power, every perk used every method in action and they still lost.
Point being? If you complain about getting gen rushed and still manage to get a 4k, just don't open your mouth.
You can certainly open your mouth about gen rushing even while getting a 4k. I've had plenty of games where the survivors were on track to win, but a few mistakes cost them the whole match. Usually when that happens it's because one of the weak links on the team made a huge blunder, which allowed the killer to snowball.
-
If I knew ahead of time they were a depip squad, there's a good chance I'd probably avoid them because teams like that aren't fun to play against (they'd probably win anyway).
But if I was feeling extra competitive, then I guess I would go with Iri Head Huntress. I've been playing a lot of Huntress lately, so she's probably my most practiced killer at the moment.
Back in the good ol' days when you were faced with sweaty survivor teams, you could bring out the big guns: Omegablink Nurse.

i already have the party crasher skin
and, how do i put a crosshair on huntress?
There are a number of ways. If you're on PC, you can buy a monitor with built in crosshair overlay (they are worth the investment imo).
Or, just load up whatever FPS game you have and stick something over the crosshair (like a sticker or a piece of tape). Whatever you stick over the crosshair needs to be bright so it contrasts with the dark background.
-
Nurse isn't a rewarding killer anymore imo. So I would avoid Nurse.
For Legion, I'd definitely get Julie's Party Crasher Skin (best skin in the game by far). In terms of a build, try Corrupt Intervention, Pop Goes The Weasel, Thanatophobia, and Discordance.
For Huntress, put a crosshair on your screen so you can actually aim. The perks I like running are Corrupt Intervention, Nurse's Calling, BBQ, and Shadowborn.
-
Damn, Jeff is getting a mad max skin. Might actually have to buy that.
Also, I have a strong feeling the new skin will be a set.

That wasn't a dream, it was a premonition
You might be right π€
-
I've only had nightmares.
The scariest nightmare I had was when the devs nerfed every killer straight down to dumpster tier.
-
The answer should be obvious...
-
LOL Not good at all.π
The only that I've seen who was decent was Not Queen. She plays an okay Nurse (and is a pretty good survivor). Haven't seen her play in a LONG time though.
-
Heaven forbid a survivor loses their precious item during the trial.
-
I guess those chainsaws just land themselves? No skill required from the killer, huh?
And I suppose survivors that can quickly 180 with a keyboard don't exist either, am I right?
If we're talking about skill, why not put a overheat mechanic on all killers that can spam their power? Let's put a cooldown on Plague's puke.
Face it, this is another dumb excuse by the devs.
-
Probably Freddy or Huntress I'd say.
-
It shouldn't be honestly.
The devs need to implement a ranking system that can keep the bad players out of red ranks.
