It was abused instead of being a way to say "I disagree" it turned into "I don't like you so have a downvote" Also people would use it instead of actually discussing.
Why are humans so petty....like damn.

Plus anyone who goes by Post counts is likely people who can't comprehend both logic and understanding since my posts to "Dylan" (who I see now is basically Wahara) aren't capable of using comprehension but want to believe they are so right that they are wrong and won't ever accept it and as anyone here who argued with both can see they want to twist things around to suit their ego of always wanting to be right.

Ignoring MichaelMyers would make this conversation much healthier. He's reduced himself to the role of cheerleader at this point and regardless of whether you think LGBTQ characters should be included or not, you have to admit that's really unhelpful to the discussion. This is how you lose arguments people lol this "Child" calls people a cheerleader because we aren't on his little side and he believes this conversation was ever healthy (when it hasn't for maaaany given pages.)
Whats unhelpful is your lack of reading comprehension skills when people have brought up not just valid but reasonable given debates where you literally have been shown to lack any logical refutes or arguments where me and others here have actually brought up something factual as you ignore me which im happy because I don't discuss or associate myself with ignorance but just then you try to call me a cheerleader because I agree with people on a far superior intelligence than yours? yet you are on Dylan's side acting as a support cheerleader because so many even LGBT/Non-LGBT is against you both isn't just sad but hypocritical.
Now you can excuse yourself from this discussion since you want others too because you proving this ######### to be toxic and off-topic I haven't mentioned you in any negative light of any kind and I won't tolerate some ignorant kid to try to belittle me because Im not on their little side when clearly they are in the wrong.

Those are some dense paragraphs, Shrimp. I'll wait a little bit to actually try dissecting all of that, because the thoughts expressed appear a bit disjointed to me and I'm not sure how I'm going to structure my response without it looking really disorganized.Though, I will say on the subject of arrogance, you were the one who misrepresented what I said and used it as a basis for accusing me of arrogance, so I showed you what real arrogance looks like. For what it's worth, for you in particular, I will return to base line. Your post appears to contain what seems like back pedaling, but I can genuinely see that you are trying, and see no indication that you're being intentionally obtuse. (Which is what triggers the ever living [BAD WORD] out of me) I see no reason to punish you for that. The tone is sincere. That's not to guarantee anyone else is safe from me turning the ######### switch back on. I will bring it right back up to ten once I start noticing weasel tactics.
A full response will be given tonight or tomorrow. I'm not sure yet.
You can say that I'm arrogant if you want, but I'm not the one trying to speak for a whole group of people. To make things more organized, I'll shorten my points.
1.) You said that it's harder for gay people to imagine these character's as gay compared to straight people. You don't speak for everyone.
2.) This is a visual game. Therefore, that's the median the devs chose to include more groups of people. It's more convenient that way, because this is a visual game. The lore isn't necessary, therefor, less time will be dedicated to it and the devs will drop unnecessary pieces. Sexuality isn't something that can be seen visually, so it's less likely to be put in the game. If this game were a dating simulator, that information would be more relevant.
3.) When I repeated what you said in my other post, it wasn't with the intent of being rude. It was to clarify the points I was addressing.
4.) My point of addressing race and gender compared to sexuality still stands. None of the characters in DBD are confirmed straight, so there's no exclusion. If you see them as straight, that's on you.
5.) The devs could very well not have included sexuality because they didn't want to. If they don't want to confirm that, they shouldn't be pressured to do so. And what if someone who is gay was trying to relate to a character that was confirmed straight? Wouldn't that make the problem worse?
At the end of the day, this isn't your work. If the devs don't want to confirm a character's preferences, they don't have to. It's not a big issue if there's no answer to a character's sexuality.
This ended the discussion by far.

- So you want confirmation over something that is trivial?
- It's not hard for them to answer they just dont care.
- If you want Nea to be gay then think it while you play just don't be trying to demand or ask for them to confirm something that doesn't really matter at all even other LGBTQ here don't care for this stuff.
- how is it trivial if its something that exists.
- didnt know know you worked on the dev team and know everyone thier individually
- i never said Nea i said someone. and it does matter when you say it doesnt with no facts.
- By definition of Trivial "of little value or importance." so yes it's trivial and something that only exists for your bias.
- Trust me I do and even then you being a child and dismissing everyone who disagrees is the reason why they don't care.
- LMAO! the facts is no one is really caring my dude stick to OBVIOUS fanfic and your imagination we in the horror community dont care for this trivial non-sense this is a HORROR VIDEO GAME not a DATING SIM and you also have absolute 0 facts vs the many who brought more argument you cant even refute.

Fair, you're more than free to embarrass yourself by indicating you haven't bothered to follow the conversation properly before spewing your opinion. You're entitled to that and nobody can take it away from you.
When I warned the gloves are off, I meant it. Nobody gets wiggle room anymore. Nobody gets to run away from a point. No distractions, no red herrings, no BS. You will be a faithful and honest participant in the discussion or I will go out of my way to make you look like an idiot, and I'll succeed.
You're going to ask me to "show myself out" on a public forum and claim that I'm the one embarrassing myself? And I read the post. It doesn't change much.
Your comparison of gender and race to sexuality holds little ground. If you made all the characters explicitly white men, that directly excludes others. Whereas none of the character's sexualities are confirmed in DBD, therefor no one is excluded. It's just not confirmed. If all the characters were confirmed as heterosexual, you comparison would make more sense. We would have a reason to ask why some of the characters aren't gay. But, since some of the characters could very well be gay, they aren't excluded. The comparison falls flat.
"Why should I have to play pretend?"
Both sides do, because nothing is confirmed. The characters can be either gay or straight.
"It's like people are saying heterosexuality isn't naturally assumed to be the default or something."
This is a you issue. A lot of people have no issue imagining some of the characters as gay. You even stated it in your own words. "Assumed." You can assume the characters are gay all you want, just as someone else can assume they're not. No one is right or wrong. Nothing is explicitly confirmed.
"Why is race and gender okay to portray but sexuality isn't?"
No one said it wasn't okay, but race and gender are much easier to show visually without having to include it in a bio. Since the characters have to be visual in this game, it's easy to include people in this way. I personally think it's better that the characters sexuality is left to the audience's imagination. Makes it seem like their ships and fics hold more weight. Again, if you want the character's sexualities to be shown visually, I doubt it'll be received well. At the end, it's the dev's choice. There are some things I can agree with. I think saying it's not necessary isn't a good argument. Because at the end of the day, no lore in this game is necessary. But that only makes this post all the more ridiculous, because it's essentially an argument over things that don't matter.
I can also agree that representation is a good thing. However, that doesn't mean we should pressure the devs into including it, nor does it make it explicitly necessary in DBD.
Now do us both a favor and drop this attitude you've got going on. You want representation and acceptance, yet your first reaction to my opinion was to "show myself out." You're a complete hypocrite.
The ######### savagery is uncanny and I love it lmao these guys won't comprehend basic arguments and refutes to the fact they trying to force something that isn't really a 100% relevance.

In this thread, there are more people against it than there are for it, and a large portion of the ones against it are LGBT themselves. Stop trying to frame your position as the morally correct one or even the popular one, because it's simply not true. Having LGBT characters in a game isn't going to help LGBT teenagers who become homeless due to their homophobic parents kicking them out. It's not going to help the high suicide rate due to bullying. Don't need to be constructive in a topic discussion such as this where a 17 yr old believes everyone is wrong for sharing objective opinions and saying we are derailing a discussion that is on-topic.

I really don't understand this need to have something like this defined i really don't, and before we go any further, yes i am a bisexual female, so i don't consider my view to be biased in any way shape or form. The LGBTQ society have been pushing for acceptance for a long time, its slowly been happening and gained great momentum over the years which is awesome. But guess what, with acceptance eventually comes the mundane, the normal. Aside from the hardcore objectors that scream 'Nope!' it's become a normal enough part of society that nobody cares if you are gay, bi, trans and so on.Personally i think that is a way healthier state of mind than applying some stigma to it. As for asking for 'someone' in this games roster to be labelled as LGBTQ, i just don't agree, it is not an important piece of information and it certainly has no bearing on the game itself, especially when the characters are pretty much interchangeable with everybody being able to learn everyone else's perks.
Lastly, and I'm going to try and say this as nicely as possible because i try to be a decent person and i do not know you enough to dislike you.....You are not a mod, you do not get to decide who is and isn't allowed to reply to a post you put up on a public forum. Anybody who puts up a post in any forum has to understand that in doing so, there are going to be opposing opinions. You are asking about a subject that many people have differing views on, and people are allowed to have those views as much as you are allowed yours.
Disagreeing with you is not derailing the thread or bullying you, and if you feel that way, the simplest reaction is to flag the post that offends you, just be aware flagging is not a guarantee that the post will be removed. Being the author of a thread does not give you the right to moderate it beyond requesting it be closed if you think it has gone too far awry. a reason for being here is not to just post it states in the rules of the fourm you are not aloud to de-rail the post which you are by not even participating in the question i asked, also yes you said we shouldnt add a LGBTQ character since it isnt necessary. and yes you are bothering me and i am not playing the victim card since multiple people on here agreed with me and want this, i am 17, you can state your opinion all you want but you dont need to contantly post on this thread because of the sake of posting and the majority is not just agreeing with you its about 50/50 and not everyone has posted here. just because one gay person agreed with not adding this its probably because they dont like labels and i understand that but if your like me you take the label Gay and you make it you, it enpowers you and you say it with pride. if you dont say that your gay because you dont like labels then you probably arent sure that your gay or you went threw some kind of trauma that caused you not to want to label yourself. so again for like the 4th time just go, there is no reason for you to be here if your not going to participate in the thread and basically say no im not when i say you are. i say your bothering me and you sau no your not. i say you have no reason for posting here and you say your reason is to post. I say you stated that this is wrong and you say no you didnt.
You are the only one derailing it and I don't care for the rest of the things you said here now like I said no one really cares for a trivial concept such as "sexuality" for characters in such a video game if you care so much write a fanfic or something because I said "it doesn't really matter."
then if you dont care about it go away from my post theirs no reason for you to de-rail it any longer. and yes multiple people care about the concept of sexuality for characters in video games. look again i say he is de-railing it and he provides on proof and says i am. also i say there are people who care about a LGBTQ+ character being added and he says no one does. see guys? this is the exact definition of a internet troll. and i will just be igrnoring his posts for now on until they add the block feature to the fourms
YOU ARE THE ONE DERAILING IT! Stop quoting me back here! I'm not even trolling you just butthurt because everyone isn't agreeing with your "I need to force my sexuality to feel empowered!" Concept and yes block me! Jeeez for a 17 yr old you act like a 5 yr old.
this poster has plenty of people supporting their desire to talk about queer characters being in the game.

Not really.

Since I knew that that statement is bullshit, I had a look at every single comment in this thread again and noted down if the people who posted them were pro OP, contra OP or either undecided or had an "off-topic" comment.
Excluding OP, there are only 4 people so far who support OP's request for an LGBTQ character to be added to the game.
9 people were undecided or didn't contribute to that question.
But a big fat majority of 15 people are against adding an LGBTQ character for the sake of having one. That's almost 4 times as many as are for adding one. Of at least 3 of those people, I know that they are gay or bisexual themselves.
Stop talking crap and don't call 4 people "plenty".
Thabk you!

I think it ultimately doesn't matter to most people. People choose their survivors differently. You want to choose a survivor you can relate to, which is fine. For me, I choose based on appearance, so I don't think I would ever play Nea or Quentin (aside from getting their teachable perks and to use up all their offerings and add-ons) because quite frankly, they are ugly survivors. I main David King, mostly because he looks better than Dwight with a beard (even though I wear glasses, I am not bald, which is part of Dwight's beard cosmetic), but I definitely don't relate to David K at all because he can be violent, but I am not. If they ever decided to include sexuality into someone's backstory, that wouldn't make me want to play them any more or less than normal. In my opinion, their backstory only needs to explain their disappearance and why they have the unique perks they do. Nothing else is important because it doesn't affect game play at all. There is nothing truly special about each survivor, because they are just cosmetic. They can discuss sexuality if they want, but I think it would make little difference in the long run.Agreed
