My dad thinks it's this beautiful live song because "They're learning new things about each other!" and my mum and I are like:
-_- "You're an idiot. They tried to CHEAT ON EACH OTHER."
and when they realized they both talked things out, that's what the song implies. aka they both realized a relationship need communication

Newest Chapter is up. Be warned, there's is a reason the fic is rated E.

Is this the right moment to shamelessly self-promote a fanfic concerning exactly that for Deathslinger? (it's rated E for reasons, though (violence and such))

But how?!
It simply doesn’t make any sense. You still need to be looking at a survivor in order to hit them.
you can scare survivors off generators. it's a bit of a gamble, but it can work (especially when you have perks that work with what gens being worked on/being stopped being worked on).
also, and this is absurd: even when running spinechill i have witnessed people just not looking around for the killer, cause they only use it for the boost, not to actually... not getting knocked down. (like, sorry, but i don't even run M&A on slinger, if you have spinechill AND i'm able to walk up to you, you are doing something wrong)
-
The idea of breakable walls are good, but as they are they don't pan out. the only one I can thing of giving some advantage would be the one in midwich's bathroom.
honestly: to have them be worthwhile they should be 'breakable' only for killers, like, once you break them, they open a new path for you, but now for the survivors.
i mean, killers can't drop pallets or hide in lockers, so why should survivors use break-paths?

I see quite a lot of spinechill. I use it in some of my builds.
I agree with OP, spine chill gives you waaaaay too much for so little.
it can still be played around if you suspect it to be in play and even be used to an advantage
-
how many people DO run spinechill?
usually I'm (and maybe some new players) the only one with it when playing survivor...

Well it's not nice but it's at least decent. I didn't hook camp or tunnel really at all just getting rid of a weak link, hell they got gens done respectably fast but they repay me by hiding then using key bc they can't escape otherwise
very skewy.
-
your definition of 'nice' is a bit skewy.

Oh with Spirit and PH the complaints are completely valid, PH slightly less because of his lack of movement but he makes up for it by being 115. Spirit just nyooms around the map, when using M/D ring at the speed of Billy just she's invisible, meaning good luck hiding against her or rushing through gens. Deathslingers I can consistently escape against because I can hold M1 (provided I'm not being tunneled, which many slingers seem to like to do to me) and PHs I can usually read successfully since I main him, but Spirit can perish in several pits.
spirit would be easily fixed by giving her an optical cue similar to wraith and slowing her down once out of phasing... (lbr, spirit is a knock-off of wraith in the long run, with superficial set-backs)
-
you know, the saddest thing about tunneling and facecamping is (mentioned before) that there already ARE mechanics in the game to counter it directly. no 'anti-tunnel perks' etc needed.
The game can already tell who is being chased, looked at, who has been hooked, what happened since that person was unhooked etc.
All these things could easily be used to result in a debuff (less BP/slowdown/etc) for the killer. An 'anti-bloodlust' so to speak.

@GoodBoyKaru said:
I think the ironic part is that the best counter to deathslinger is to just genrush since his 1v1 is so oppressive but his 1v4 is so bad, so it actually encourages it more than it dissuades it.
tell that to the survivors that cry bloody murder when they apparently collectively forget how to repair gens and instead swarm the hook the moment DeS/spirit/ph hook the first person

I'm very late to this but I must say that 'mick' is a term used for Irish people. it like when people call the french 'frogs'. I hope this helps clear up any misconceptions about caleb's backstory being wrong, since mad mick really is caleb, the outlaw that lead the hellshire gang. it was like his nickname, the deathslinger. that was not his name, but one given by people.
see my post above yours. given that hellshire's a privatized prison, thus meant for money making, closing down what would probably be most of it in the day instead of tearing it down and rebuilding would make a loss.
so unless the devs confirm anything, i'm saying it was another irish inmate 'bout 100 years after caleb...
-
Taking the opportunity to shamelessly self-promote:
Anyone here who wants to see the Deathslinger sorta-blight skin I've designed? I mean we'll never get it ingame, but anyone wanna see?
-
On the sidenote of people complaining about deathslinger and his TR:
it's always people running the same second chance builds and not using their effing eyes apparently. Like, I main Caleb, do you know how often I've been able to walk up to survivors (without M&A) and stand behind them for several seconds and they do nothing? whether on a gen or just hiding somewhere, simply because they do not look around?
and surprise of surprises, guess which perks they ran...
-
Also, whenever people complain 'bout Deathslinger they always whine about the instant shots.
To everyone crying bloody murder about it:
Have you tried it yourself?
People being able to pull those off have practice, be it through fps or playing deathslinger for quite some time. You are literally complaining that it's unfair to face a player who knows what they are doing.
-
I hope they'll also find some way to block VPNs, as those are the main issue causing massive pings for everyone (and are usually a sign of hackers)

-
Change the title to 'surv tier list based on how much i want them to die in a trap'? maybe
-
different suggestion:
if using UB to recover into the injured state, your aura will be revealed to the killer depending on how many other survivors are alive but downed. like, if you are the only one left, no reveal, if three are alive and downed, no reveal. if three are alive and none downed, 30 seconds reveal.
-
It's another of those challenges that seem to depends on rank AND on which killer you play.
especially with the latter:
if you play with a killer not known for hexs, I've seen a lot of survivors just outright ignore them, unless they are out in the open.
-
Pushing this up, cause c'mon, it is a good idea and it probably would stop at least some brats from being obnoxious.
-
I want the games OP is having if they think bubba and myers don't camp...

It's possible his final placement might change a bit (which is admittedly shaky where it is, due to his age being impossible to decipher). The first monitors like them were invented around 1950ish.
As the maps are taken from the minds of the characters, it's possible that Evan was taken a decade later than I originally thought, or there could (unlikely) be another Killer on the MacMillan Estate that we'll never see, hunting in the realms.
alternatively, the entity puts maps together from memories of various characters, survivors and killers alike. Like, we had the discussion about where Glenvale is, and I maintain the point that the 'real' one was in nebraska, but the entity put it into an arizona like desert, because it's more desolate.
Likewise the MacMillan estate could be thrown together from evan's emories and that of others, even earlier victims of the entity.
-
Make it 35-40 seconds, and have the timer tick down.
the average match lasts between 5-9 minutes. if we are ignoring moris and go with 3 hooks per kill, a killer has averagely 25-45 seconds to find, chase, down and hook a survivor.
see where DS eats up the mathematics here?
having the timer stop in a chase doesn't make it anti tunnel, it makes it (as stated before) pro-facecamp
-
DS's duration would not be an issue if it wouldn't be abused in combo with other perks like unbreakable.
I have witnessed it on both sides that someone running the obnoxious build will scurry around a killer after getting unhooked when the killer is carrying someone else, bodyblocking or insta unhooking. cue the freshly hooked surv running off with borrowed time, and the a-hole survivor using DS and running off as well.
It's not an anti-tunnel perk, it's a perk that punishes a killer for playing fair.
if anything, DS is a pro-facecamp perk the way it is.

I don't even think you need to alter the Entity. It's sense of humor is rotten enough to just snatch the roleswap versions from their respective timelines and through them into the mix for s--ts and giggles.
As for the roleswaps (I had a thread like that somewhere, maybe we should have the mods merge things?)
I'd always see Jake become 'the raven king', an avian humanoid bestowed by the entity with power over the crows on the map, using them to move around (teleport) and attack...
-
You'll get there. It's all practice, but damn, he can be one of the scariest killers on the game.

Just had an utterly obnoxious toxic duo to face.
They had the match in the bag. one more gen to go, last 3 gens far apart, and yet they and the other two (a console swf, perhabs, not certain) kept focusing on this one gen in the shack, all the while flashlight clicking and teabagging me. it was so obvious they tried to get me to DC, but i'm stubborn.
It ended with a 4k, and yet these two went all 'ez'... and then didn't take to kindly when I wasn't biting. They complained I suck because there were no long chases, and I was just 'mate, you lost a match you had 100% in the bag, and you blew it for the sake of being obnoxious. Good riddance'
they proceeded to hurl slurs at me.
Guess some people don't take kindly to being unable to annoy others.
-
What's your budget?
Maybe we can put something together for you that won't be high end, but more than enough to run dbd smoothly (bugs not withstanding)
-
I can't see clown or doctor as being civil at all.
If we assume the entity let's their human mind come through, these two have been complete a-holes IRL.
Dunno bout Blight, but he's leaning towards that too to me.
Deathslinger might be one of the most civil. still an a-hole, but not in the same sense.
-
Something similar to OP happened to me, and I'm still having a laugh about it.
New player (a dwight), crouching round the area, obviously looking around for me (the killer). I shuffle after him for a bit, to the point where another survivor (meg i think?) gets up from the gen, frantically pointing at me. I just nodded at her, and let her go back to her gen, still following the dwight around.
I was playing as Deathslinger...
-
one possible solution: more add-ons that affect the infection time and severity, AND you get a notfication if someone gets infected by repairing/vaulting
-
Very much my experience as killer, too.
It's always refreshing to see survivors that start 'behaving' when they realize you are trying your best to not accidentally tunnel etc. I dunno how often I had survivors shuffle up to me after they saw I looked at them after running into them when they just got unhooked and just went on my way.
Usually this ends in farming, which, tbh, is great. I know I'll never get some challenges done, but I'd rather play to have fun than stress myself out.
-
naw, making a 'game name 2' for the sake of new gameplay elements is... not a good thing. other games have shown that, unfortunately.
sure, it sounds like the most logical way, but lbr:
it'd make more sense to develop a couple of ideas, and then put it up to the community to say which of these they'd like to see the most and then put on a long PTB to let people test things out proper.
For example: If the devs were to make a chapter that introduces roleswaps of killers and survivors (so, killer versions of survs, and the other way round) a mode akin to Among Us and similar games would be possible. (i mean, the idea is a pretty old concept that was played long before computers were a thing)

Killer Interactions, yes.
Progress not appearing for a second or two at the start of the match due to some funny latency, yes.
Phantom Skill Checks, yes.
This I have not experienced in any way, shape, or form.
it's not so much 'phantom skillchecks' it's the game not registering your are holding m1, acting as if you failed the check. had that happen on heals and gens to me, with two different mice (logitech and razer)
-
And still people complain about any and all suggestions to encourage shaking up builds on either side...
-
Toxicity on either side being portrayed as true/good/only valid playstyle
-
I thiiiiink the offerings that increase the bp for sacrifice to add a little to the counter?
but yeah, compared to the iri emblems on survivors side this is bull.
