lol I just don’t stress the game at all because well, it’s just a game, but seriously try going against a very skilled killer, they can easily wipe a whole team out in a few minutes, you’ll probably see that as you rank up.

Killer's don't control the pace of the match, it's on the survivors, if you're good but your team is doo doo then you're gonna probably lose but if at least 2 survivors are good then you have a way easier time. The way I see it when I play solo survivor is I'm more afraid of the survivors I get matched with rather than the killer, honestly bad teammates are the real killers in this game.

  • Probably so they can practice a new killer without getting obliterated by red rank survivors or maybe they just want chill matches and not try hard games. I can understand using a smurf for killer but using a smurf for survivor makes no sense since all survivors are just skins with different voices and don't have a unique skill that needs to be acquired to play them efficiently.

  • Depends on a lot of variables I don't think any killer is hard to face but given the right circumstances and the right map any Killer can be hard to face, but for the most part map Rng is favored towards survivors. Imagine getting rotten fields vs a Myers, that match is gonna be super easy but now if you get Myers on a map like the game or coal tower it's gonna change drastically. As I said it depends on a lot of factors such as perks add-ons and items that are brought in to the game.

  • I agree remove that text lmao

  • Any game can be competitive just look at people speed running story games.

  • @Almo said:

The Killer Instinct addons aren't "useless". Maybe you don't like them, and that's totally cool! But some people do like them. :)

No one that I know of uses those add-ons, i have over 100 of them and i don't plan on using one ever until it gets reworked with something useful. As it stands now legion's only viable add-ons are the duration and mending add-ons but the blades have been nerfed 3 times already that they're not even worth running anymore so that only leaves Legion players with iridescent button and sketchbook add-on, how is it possible that out of so many add-ons only 3 are useful.

  • DBD this year in a Nutshell

Releases OP survivor perk MoM which didn't get fixed till 2 months later.

Releases Ghost face and proceeds to get nerfed the following week after he was complete trash in the PTB.

NO Summer Event at all, only thing we get is summer themed cosmetics.

Halloween Event sucked, tied to the rift and no secondary objective added just some lazy hook and gen designs.

Bugs more than ever before after archive's

Oni released and get's eviscerated overall the following week.

More bugs added in Cursed Legacy Chapter and no fix.

No Christmas Event but we get sweaters.

No firecrackers for New Years and still more bugs.

Hello Darkness my old friend :(

  • Fungoose for me he's on a level of his own compared to every other content creator, the dude is so informative and interactive with his chat and community he answers every question that comes his way, his Survivor and Killer gameplay are insane. If you haven't checked him out you should IMO he's one of if not the best killer player in DBD.

  • I didn't buy this one and I'm certainly not buying the next or the next one after that.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

Billy without addons? Nah. I agree on huntress tho. Her addons are mostly QoL for good huntress players.

Billy isn't add-on dependent, anyone who plays Billy a lot can do very good without any add-ons. Good example of this is Fungoose, if you don't know who he is you should check him out he's really good with Killer and Survivor, he has an insane Billy and Plague

"About the stance change, switching stances was part of the skill gap you had to learn to be a great Doctor player. Knowing when to switch, shock them then switch back to punishment was a testiment of the work you put in to be skillful with him at loops, getting rid of the stance change nerfs him in so many aspects as I explained in another reply."

This reads to me like you are trying to spin a buff to sound like a nerf.

Nah, read my other replies and you'll find my explanation.

  • @Hex_KillerMainBTW said:

I'm confused as to how people are already calling this a nerf to doctor. Imagine having counter clockwise skill checks with huntress lullaby (assuming it isn't cleansed right off the bat.) Doctor was already a weak killer. If anything this seems more like a plus to me. I hated having to switch stances a lot to shock people. Now I get a 60 second cool down? Nice. I'm sure the range add ons will be changed to other things. This is basically about a nurse level change which might actually make him better. Don't cry nerf until we see the final product.

Counter clockwise skillchecks is a purple add-on and it's a gimmick, that's not enough to call that a buff and most people including me rate the killers off base kit, they're removing so many things from him base kit and replacing it with weaker versions of it, call it what you will or as the devs like to say it the nice way "soft rework" but there's no covering it that this is a straight up nerf and devs don't want to address it as such.

About the stance change, switching stances was part of the skill gap you had to learn to be a great Doctor player. Knowing when to switch, shock them then switch back to punishment was a testiment of the work you put in to be skillful with him at loops, getting rid of the stance change nerfs him in so many aspects as I explained in another reply.

Also his "Power" static blast does absolutely nothing for him because of the immense cool down duration and the fact that the Calm Add-ons were leaked and seen to be nerfed so the only way to increase his TR is by wasting a perk slot on distressing and for what? A 40 meter blast that people might or might not be in? If you waste it then you have to wait a whole minute before you can try again.

So BHVR removes the ability for solo survivors to see the ranks of who they are playing with to prevent lobby dodging.

So so let’s make it fair. Killers can no longer see survivors while in lobby. Why? Because lots of killers out there will lobby dodge if they see the same group of toxic survivors.

Or they might lobby dodge if they see the following:

    4 toolboxes

    4 blendettes with flashlights

1 key, a map and tool boxes together

multiple survivors with the same clan tag

this lobby dodging increases the wait time for everyone and should be remedied ASAP!

But seriously, just let us see the ranks again, or prevent killers from seeing the fact that me and my friends brought 3 keys. They may use that as an excuse to lobby dodge.

plz BHVR lemme see the ranks again.

What does Killer have to do with a survivor feature "bug"? It got fixed so what now you want an eye for an eye? Even though None of the killer's complained about the feature.

  • @thesuicidefox said:

I've been a rank 1 survivor for a while and I find Doc seriously annoying to play against. Keyword ANNOYING. He's not hard to play against. I want to make that clear. But just because I can escape from Doc doesn't mean I find him in any way fun to play against.

IMO these changes are welcome. The only other thing I'd like to see is that they remove the vault stopping power of his ability since he no longer needs to change his stance AND he is always moving at 115 speed. Honestly the most annoying thing to deal with against Doc. Just make it a slow vault. It would be so much better.

Also you shouldn't be blocked from healing a survivor off the ground. It gives him free slugs and it's super annoying to deal with. Normal healing sure, but healing off the ground hell no. Also also Mend should take priority over Snap Out.

Do these things and make his add-ons stronger and I'd have no problem with Doc moving forward.

Dude have you even ever played killer? Do you have any idea what that would do to the killer? As if maps in this game weren't awful enough you want to get rid of his only niche he has.

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:

Who's been asking for him to be nerfed???

Hexy, everytime I pop in his streams he's always talking about how "OP" Billy is and begs for nerfs everytime someone brings up the best killer in dbd.

  • it's safe to say that he'll be left to dust on the shelf with all the things going on currently.

  • @arslaN said:

This is definitely a buff, not sure why you think this is a nerf.

    It's a overall nerf and here's why.

Static Blast has a cool down of 60 seconds from what was said in the live stream. During the time that the Doc changes were leaked it said in the description that the static blast was equivalent to his TR which is 32 m. Now question is that if you use the blast and no one is around or maybe just 1 you have to wait another whole 60 seconds to try and tier up a survivor, not to mention how much counterplay survivors have towards tiering up they can simply hide in a lock or move away from his blast effect. This seemingly makes tiers of madness irrelevant and not very useful since it's tied to 32m near him.

Another thing is that there's no more treatment mode this means that you can no longer fake shocks to get the survivor to drop the pallets early as once you initiate the shock the survivor will know to run another loop on you, doc will no longer be able to pull survivors off hook rescues or gens consistently since there will be no treatment mode.I'm also very disappointed in the change to the "no stance" because this was a huge part to the skill gap in Doctor you had you alternate between the two stances to be skillful with him at loops, all this change does is make it more frustrating for survivors and lower the skill gap between the good docs and the mediocre ones.

  • @Peanits said:

I'd say try it first. You've only heard part of the changes, jumping to a conclusion now is silly.

    For those who missed it:

    • Treatment mode is gone. You no longer need to switch modes to shock survivors. (Shock and then hit people quicker.)
    • The Static Field has been replaced with a Static Blast. This shocks your full terror radius and gives any survivor hit by it a full tier's worth of madness. Cooldown of 60 seconds.
    • Various add-on improvements.
    • Backwards skill checks in madness.

And there will be a PTB first, of course, which means it could change before going live.

Also he'll be getting his own unique chase music. That doesn't really affect balance, but it's cool and I figured I should mention it.

Wil he start off with his static blast or will it be on cool down at the start of a trial? Because getting people into madness 1 is very crucial at the start of a trial.

  • It's actually quite bad, the power will be on a 60 second cool down when you already have that as a passive by simply walking around this change alone hurts his tracking by a lot.

  • @TAG said:

Are we just basing this on the leaked text, or was something just announced that I missed?

They announced the changes that they're going to do to his therapy mode in the live Q&A.

  • @The_Second_Coming said:

To be fair - we should wait to see how it plays out. They did say it wasn't final.

Everyone thought Freddy's rework was trash when they revealed it to us. He's literally one of the strongest killers in the game now.

I'm not referring to the Freddy "rework" I'm referring to how survivors complained about Freddy when he was barley released into the game and he got nerfed within the same week.

  • I don't feel like It's needed as solo survivor but it definitely does help, I usually use iron will, DH, adrenaline and quick and quiet but if I do decide to use kindred I'll swap out Q&Q for it.

because DeathGarden the game was PC exclusive at the time that the masks came out, and since the game will never come to console, neither will the cosmetics.

You do know that BHVR still owns DG right? If they please they can just port over the cosmetics not a big deal for them.

  • @Deltin said:

no. stop asking. This is just like people begging for Legacy. just stop.

How does a DG cosmetic compare to legacy? Anyone on pc gets DG masks for free without any work meanwhile legacy had to be earned through work.Doesn't seem similar to me.

Look FriendlyGuy I get that you dislike me because I attack tru3s opinions a lot, but literally the only nerfs I have ever asked for on the killer side were for Nurse (which nearly everyone agreed needed a nerf), and PTB Oni (which again was bustedly strong). I said Spirit needed a change to introduce some counterplay and then should be buffed accordingly, not a net nerf. (Except for Prayer Beads which was b.s and you know it)

That's literally it. I ######### about the map design and bugs WAY WAY more and im not sure why you ignore all of that and focus on the three things in the history of DBD I wanted nerfed on the killer side.

Who mentioned Tru3? I don't think anyone said anything about him in this thread just curious why streamers always feel the need to put others on blast.

  • Level 4 of the tomes are gonna be so busted it doesn't even matter if they release it on time because they won't be around to fix their ridiculous challenges till next year.

Mobile is run by a different team - it's basically a completely different game, just with a lot of characters and mechanics in common. Anything that the Dead By Daylight devs tell us about the game doesn't necessarily apply to DBD Mobile.

So when it comes to the skins, if the mobile devs want to give out exclusives to their beta testers, that's their business. It has nothing to do with us.

They're still owned by BHVR so it does have to do with the game.

  • @SpookyJeff said:

My problem with considering Kindred/NoLB a buff to solo survivors is you're sacrificing a perk slot that SWF don't have to, so it's still a huge disadvantage to be only running 3/4 of the perks a SWF group can. There isn't really a solution to this balance-wise because the devs aren't going to start banning people for running discord, so we just have to accept that solo survivor has and always will suck.

Solo in any multiplayer game always sucks just look at games like Apex, GTA and MHW if you aren't playing with people you know you're gonna get a bunch trolls and noobs not doing anything to benefit you.

  • @Usui said:

Get better at the game. The fact you just admitted you had to rely on a mori for entertainment is saying a lot.

He isn't saying that he needs a mori to win, where did you come up with that conclusion?? He's saying that he shouldn't have to be stressed playing as the "power role" killer vs weak human survivors. The roles should be reversed as Killers should be stronger than 1 survivor.

  • @Waffleyumboy said:

If playing red mori makes you feel good no change in the game can help you. Dbd is a horror game and horror games are meant to be stressful. Am I wrong?

Should be stressful for the weaker side NOT the KILLER in a traditional sense but DBD has the roles switched so killers suffer.

  • Level 50 right now, I only play 4 hours a day except on weekends. I remember the devs saying that the average casual should be able to finish the rift before it's closed but there's no way in hell that's the case. I consider myself a pretty hardcore dbd player but even I'm not finished with the rift. Pretty much the only people who'd be able to finish the rift are Streamers and people who have no life's.

  • @Aztreonam78 said:

The main issue is information feedback for Survivors, the same thing with the Spirit.

When his shroud is active, and you ran to Jungle Gym, T-L wall, other types of wall loops, you literally have nothing to determine where he his, for some reason my skill is nothing and I have to do blind decisions and to be LUCKY to escape him. Is it okay?

And his reveal mechanic is very weird sometimes.

Welcome to playing Killer, as killer you have to make blind decisions every game, it's called making an educated guess. Killer's don't have the advantage of a 3rd person view so why complain about a killer that can hide his light?

  • Camping isn't Toxic, it happens in a lot of games, it can be annoying but there's a lot of counterplay for it, such as doing the gens it takes about 2 minutes for a fresh hooked person to die, if 3 people are on gens that's 3 gens done and a potential 4th if they have toolboxes and hit greats.

  • It's hilarious the amount of survivor mains on this thread that are so mad people are discussing their OP perk because it might get nerfed just like how back when people were asking for MoM nerfs the survivors came in and denied all good reasons why it should be but they just want to be the keep being the power role so I geuss BHVR won't do anything and keep the survivors happy untill mass amounts of killers boycott and queues suffer.

  • @not_Queen said:

@SpaceCoconut Since Stranger Things, we have released known issues, and sometimes even future hotfix notes the day of the release of the new chapter to make sure players knew some changes will be coming.

As many people mentioned in this thread, the information was offered to players the day of the release. This change shouldn't impact PC as much, depending on how you are steering (mouse or rebinded keys).

    Hope that helps.

So basically you're saying that only Oni on consoles will be worse? Nice

  • Imagine being a Samurai who's trained years mastered the Art, killed plenty of other skillful samurai and their Grandmaster only not to be able to control a club and react accordingly to a moving target. LUL

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

Because survivors are more and if they don't find the game fun, BHVR will lose money

Without Killers there is no game, just wait till the game gets so bad that all the killers switch to survivor and the queue times for survivor Triple then only will BHVR realise they ######### up.

  • @KrazyKat1011123 said:

Yes. There really needs to be more controller settins and more key binds. Trying to heal at a pallet put then putting it down because every action is rb.

Switch your action to X then instead or R1 or A instead of RB if on Xbox

  • Pallet vaccums still exist, not to the extent that they used to teleport you in front of the pallet but instead now delaying a pallet drop can vaccum you back into the pallet giving the killer the illusion that you made an unsafe play and ran past the pallet, which in some instances this can be sorta BS because I've seen players delay this to the max range.

Exactly, any smart survivor who sees bamboozle is going to the next loop of which there's plenty,

It's so painfully obvious when people are speaking from low rank perspectives

Funny part is I bet my bottom dollar that it's mostly Survivor mains who say the same quotes "jUsT aPPLiY gEn PrEssUrE" "JuSt Leave Survivors alive at 2 gens" "don't tunnel" etc. These are the people who Solely play one perspective and don't play the other side to experience what it's like to be in that position. Like I said I've been playing this game a long time both sides as equally as possible and the maps in this game are by far the most broken thing in this game beside to Decisive Strike.

  • @Jukenobi said:

    Bamboozle.

Ok?? Guess what ima do if killer has bamboozle? Ima run to another loop and wait out 15 seconds then rotate back to that loop untill he hits me then I get a sprint burst and run to another loop, btw i play both sides so I understand every aspect to the game and I can tell you right now that bamboozle does absolutely nothing it's a wasted slot.

Don't forget there are many new players and ranking up is laughably easy as survivor. I've seen red rank survivors with as little as 7 days of playtime. Those people probably fall for (Insidious) campers pretty easily.

This is true I got to red rank solo with only megs within my first week of playing, I had been watching people play the game 4 months prior so I had some knowledge but yes getting to red ranks is easy if not easier now because survivors just get awarded points and emblems so much easier than killers do.
