I was thinking of a sort of “Freddy” power, or what Freddy should have been, but the condition is changed, idk. The upgrades would be your choice during the trial and would go from lunge range to extra Bp, mori’ng survivors, and everything else in between. Obviously the more powerful ones would require an higher price of some sort. Again this is just an idea but I’m glad that there is someone interested.
A Skill tree Killer: Everytime the killer hooks a survivor he gains a permanent stack for the remainder of the trial each stack he gains Can be slotted into the following (Breaking, Vaulting, lunge range, Movement speed, stun cooldown and attack cooldown) for 10% each stack each category can have a max 5 stacks

Singularity - who? They pretty much don't exist. Singu is decent killer but you need to tryhard him to play him ans Survivors counterplay on their side is very simple compare to the killer. So this one is out of the picture.
Xeno - Strong but Huntress is way better. You don't play much different againts him than a Nemesis and I hope you don't think Nemesis is oppresive I hope. You can slow him down and force him out his power with well placed turrets. So I wouldn't agree Xeno is too strong at all so this one is also out of the picture.
Chucky - Without power he is useless. He has good chase power but if you manage to dodge him (there are some ways) or make him waste his power then he is kinda useless. I would agree he is strong but not overpowered but okay I will give you 1 point here.
Unknown - Worse Huntress. You can juke his grenades. You can disable his tp. Don't hug walls and he can't hit you behind them. You can predic where he will prob shot. He is solid but worse than Huntress for sure and more difficult than her. So this one is also out of picture.
So if I am being kind, 1 out of 4 killers are "oppresive". Wow, crazy I know.
pretty much agree
Singularity- very rare cause he requires so much setup and then has to infect and then teleport to have a chance to damage only to then be hard countered by a 1 press emp with a very long down time.
Xeno- literally just nemesis except no infection
chucky- juke his dash hes a 110 killer slow af
unknown- has to infect first to damage miss 1 shot you have to reinfect. Only has 4 TPs max that can be cleansed in 5 seconds

Now this might seem like a crazy post to say. "SURVIVOR MAIN!" you shout. And yes I am. (Sadly because survivor is the only role where I have 75% of the perks but anyways) I mean it when I say that killers are too strong. RECENT killers are too strong. Now they might have some decent counterplay but when it comes to their arsenal, especially compared to earlier killers, they are just too strong compared to what survivors have in theirs. Power creep essentially.
Let's take a look at one of the most loved killers in the game, Huntress. Her power? Throw Hatchet. That's it. But the versatility of her power (throw hatchet) is what makes her even viable in today's games despite her releasing YEARS ago. Let's look the most recent killer, unknown. He's a pretty decent and fair killer…sometimes. But nonetheless, fair.
It can shoot essentially a pink glorp bomb like a grenade launcher that can shoot over loops and explode with AOE splash damage. This glorp bomb can also bounce off walls. It also leaves random versions of itself it can teleport too. It has Anti-loop so it'll be hard to loop. It can deal splash damage so even if you loop you can't hug walls. If you try to evade it's bomb it can shoot it towards a wall to bounce off and get you regardless. It can also teleport so it has map traversal. You see my point? Compared to Huntress, who is comparison a pistol, Unknown is like a grenade launcher, and many of them scattered randomly in the battlefield that it can fly to on a helicopter at fast speeds anytime. Now Unknown is more fair than the other I shall name to further my point.
Let's take a look at Xeno. She has a tunnel system, 2 modes, one giving her a tail with little to no windup time, which she can also fake her tailwhip and not be severely punished if she misses and even then, she can ALSO instantly M1 too, which the very same mode can only be stopped by flamethrowers which also do little to nothing as she can swat them away with her tail in no time. Those very same Flamethrowers can only be received near those same tunnels. Once you get those flamethrowers, it slows you down. And even then, they only are useful if near a loop, which takes even more time to set. So, Xeno has map traversal via tunnels, anti-loop via her tail which you cann't outplay due to little wind-up time to dodge which she can also just M1 instantly and slowdown via the flamethrowers which is kinda the only counterplay.
You see what I mean? With older killers their powers were mode simple but effective, meaning most killers will have to make up for what they lack in skill, knowledge and/or perks meaning there's room for many strategies and gameplay styles. But now killers have anti-loop, slowdown, map traversal, stealth or any sort of combination all in 1 kit, no add-ons. I understand that being a killer is hard having to make up for what you lack, but thats what made killers fair but also really skillful. Now killers have everything in their kit that as a survivor, theres no room for error when facing them besides their won knowledge and skill which is a gamble of in itself.
Survivors have also been receiving lackluster perks and horrible map/pallet/loop designs to even run these killers. It's like being in an empty battlefield with nothing but a knife but your enemy has cover along with loads of weapons. What can I do besides lose?
If the game is becoming alot more hard for killers, they should make up for it in base game changes, not making killers strong in every aspect to make up for the lack of strength they have. Power Creep is never good…
While i do agree survivor gameplay is stale and needs new mechanics instead of relying on killers with a new gimmick to have fun however i disagree you thinking survivors are just weak they can be strong especially in coordinated groups and Devs can't make regular m1 killers anymore cause both sides would be bored and poor map balance would make them the weakest killer in the game

At least the second thread where someone posts a video of Otz about this.
And IMO it is fair. A Plague who got hit by DS was most likely tunneling anyway, good riddance that her power is gone then.
if you think thats fair then i think its fair every other killer should lose their power when stunned by any means
-
im tunneling anyway whats 2 more secs on Ds i got slowdowns eating 60 secs of time
-
its been proven multiple times with DC penalties turned off in the past Survivors Dc rates massively rise survivors dc at any inconvenience

Nurse is one of the most unique Killers in the game, like it or not.
She is the ONLY killer from ALL 35+ killers that you have to play differently againts and as her. You have to change your playstyle.
She was nerfed like X times in row, like almost every year she gets nerfed. How much you people want? Do you want to make her just bad killer to play? She is one of the few killers if not the only one who even the most skilled Survivors have to respect (her power).
Nurse is extremely unfun to go against even more than Skullmerchant her "Uniqueness" is just ignoring every mechanic and counterplay survivors have against normal killers. Imagine if Devs made a map that had No pallets No vaults the map was a complete deadzone thats what its like going against a Nurse there is no playstyle and people don't respect her

be lucky we get it fixed in a month

Dont get your hopes up. A "Meta Shake Up" for Killer will just mean that they switch from Slowdown-Perks A, B, C and D to Slowdown-Perks E, F, G and H.
Remember, during the 6.1.0 Patch Eruption was buffed into being insufferable for a few months. If they would do another Meta-Shake Up you will probably see PGTW and Pain Res nerfed only to
a) being replaced by other Slowdown-Perks which are at least as equally strong and
b) being buffed again a few months afterwards
Theres not much you can do to shake up the killer meta i rather take Slowdown meta over Regression Meta or maybe chase meta? Buff chase perks
-
Unfortunately Devs are adamant on sticking to the roadmap and SM changes arent planned on for this year. Not to mention the unreal engine 5 update this patch basically made the game a lagging rubberbanding buggy mess which will take multiple months to fix so SM changes is even further down now

She didn't have Distressing but overall even we stopped moving after being chased and she stood still and it didn't gave me any points for being chased it constantly acted like I was just in her terror radius.
TBH everything is so buggy and broken rn might be a bug

So, I've been playing this game for a while, and I've really been enjoying playing wesker! I've been playing with only corrupt and deadlock for passive slowdown, and trying to focus on getting chases on every survivor. I've been having a good amount of fun, but I haven't won a single game in the last 10 games. The MMR the game has put me in, essentially has made it impossible to stop all the gens from being completed because of how many chases I'm taking. I don't really want to run pop and pain res, and I don't want to start slugging or tunneling, so what can I realistically do here? It feels like the strategy to have as much fun by chasing survivors is obsolete, as even with 8 hooks the emblem system only counts that as "bronze" so I'm not ranking up at all.
I feel completely powerless and my matches seem meaningless
What are your thoughts?
Give Pain res a Try its healthy and fair and rewards you for going after different survivors

Two ways people who dissect and experiment every possibility to find a bug or People who discover it by accident

Trickster has to hit you 8 times.
Slinger can't hit over pallets and has limited range.
The hitboxes of their weapons are a LOT smaller than Huntress' hatchets.
That's why. They reverted it because it led to a lose-lose situation for the survivor whenever the Huntress pulled up her hatchet. If they drop the pallet, they got hit. If they didn't she lost no distance and just hit them anyway. It was too much.
Hot take its time they refine hatchets hitboxes

Latest patch updated the games engine to Unreal engine 5 causing mass rubberbanding Fps drops and broken animatyions

I really do enjoy the Unknown, everything they can do is great… But they feel ineffective, powerless at times.
It feels like the UVX projectile is unusable at many tiles, and at tiles where it's only usable because of ricochet, then it's entirely luck-based as the bounce physics are unreliable when applied to anything but a straight, flat wall.
Beyond that, it feels like weakness is cleansed SO FAST, and the killer doesn't actually have any good to stay out of sight. Maybe that'd be a good place to put the crawl it has in the lobby and mori animations, so it can actually play that sort of in-chase stealth game?
The hallucinations are the most reliable part of his power, and they rely on survivors not getting rid of them, so that's really not a good thing to have as the most stable function you have.
Do you think they should increase the time it takes to cleanse weakness? I'm not going to suggest increasing the blast radius of the UVX, but maybe the Hindered duration could get increased?
The buffer for cleansing weakness is ridiculous you can break Los and it will keep cleansing for 3-4 seconds they need to tune that and also Hallucinations are very easy to cleanse Unknown only gets 4 and 1 survivor can cleanse 3 in under 15 seconds

It is because the bug doesn't just apply to off the record, it affects any perk that gives survivors the endurance status effect. OFR is the most aggregious lasting so long, but that is why I assume they haven't adjusted it yet.
Yeah might because Endurance as a whole might be the issue

I'll never understand why everyone says Knight NEEDS map of the realm. I'm aware of what it does, but I've always felt its a crutch to be used when your starting as KNight, but should be taken off when you get better then him.
As a Knight Main, my addons of choice are Call to Arms and Dried Horsemeat, and I'd sooner take a bullet to the head then use anything else. They're just that damn goodi run the same too but map of the realm is such a difference maker for short vision guards like the big guy and assassin it should be basekit along with the others mandatory addons

I'm not sure what's going on. On one hand I have had a lot of instances where my hits were validated today (to the point where I try not to grab survivors anymore) but on the other I also got a hit on a Claudette that should have never connected.
I had also never seen hatchets being validated before.
yeah its gotten worse and alot more frequent
-
@Xernoton said:
Now, I'm not mad it happened (though it's weird when it happens 3 times in 1 game with my ping being fine) but lately I've seen a lot more instances of hit validation. Especially on Huntress. I try to go for long distance shots and sometimes I hear and even see the hatchet connect but they don't lose a health state.
There have also been some instances on windows where I think I'd get the hit normally but then I don't hit them. I can't recall the devs mentioning anything in that regard though.
Alot of people are having the same issue me included hits not connecting even though it should have even with good ping

Double Deathslinger on comms would be some wild stuff, I bet.
Myers's Evil Within might only apply to himself, but Pinhead could work nicely with him with the chains keeping a survivor in place to get either free stalk or a free down.
knowing bhvr they would make it so you cant have duplicate killers in matches
-
pain res, grim are so fair and healthy they reward spread pressure to different survivors like cmon
-
Yes Techs need to be removed these "Techs" are Exploits that are not intended design dont care if its fun or has a skill element your not supposed to be able to do that. For example Oni 180 flicks your only supposed turn 90 degrees during demon dash
-
Saying 4mins is a timely manner is wild its slow and boring cut the time in half and it'll make the game interesting
-
Completely denied maybe with old plague that's true but now with over 2 mins infection time and you have can a free blood pool now its not the case at all
-

It can't down faster because the survivor gets a speed boost after a hit to get to any sort of cover, and she can't catch up to down as fast because, unlike your Twins comparison, she does not have 150% movement speed basekit. PTB Victor eats through health states faster than a Nurse and the only temporary reprieve is a god window. There are no comparisons to be made here.
You obviously haven't faced against enough plagues the speed boost you get is nothing she has plenty range and duration to 2 tap you while your running away
-
@Depressedlegion said:

This doesn't apply the same way you think it does. All of those killers, except for maybe oni's depending on survivors, which is why they've got less long power durations.
Giving plague a 30 second duration red vomit duration boost who can down faster then new PTB Twins that everyone is calling OP busted is insane
-
Gates should regress and Egc time should be 2 minutes max
-
@Chordyceps said:
The devs have stated multiple times that the point of the EGC was never to put additional pressure on survivors during the end game. It was put in as a way to force matches to end. It currently accomplishes that goal, so it's fine as is.
Meanwhile cheaters have ways to bypass the Egc holding games hostage forever yeah that sure did accomplish nothing
-
Sounds like a great idea
-
Aight then give the same duration add-on boosts with no downsides to Oni, Trickster, legion, singularity you'll change your tune real quick
-
increase the distance he can chain someone increase reel speed increase chain durability and rework his addons like hellshire iron and the status effect addons the longer he can chain someone the more chances another survivor can try to break the chain
-
hes not the worst but he is the worst ranged killer
-
its shouldn't be counted as a hit just like unknowns
