I didn't see the date. Still I said what I said. Steve does sound like a girl when he gets hooked

I agree but the way to solve this isn't by not doing anything because 2 problems exist.
Just like keys and moris either you leave them in the game unchanged or they both have to go, you can't just say ok well we'll buff survivors so that every player can play like a full swf and then totally leave killers in the dark they need to buff solo Q and killers to account.
If you only break one of the negatives then the other side feels cheated and i'm sure survivors would feel just as cheated as killers when they gutted moris into BP wasters and left keys.
Right now at this point the only thing stopping the game from being a stomp house is Solo Q's existence and swfs not wanting to make killers die.
If the game was casually balanced then nothiong ould change and stomping would still exist on both sides
If it was balanced around serious play then the game would be a lot more fair and feel like a true game of skill not rng and who can bring the most ######### things into the match for free kills or escapes.
Also, dude, yes I always get left behind by key users but in all defense you're complaining about not getting something you didn't deserve.
Maybe sometimes you did but in my opinion I count every hatch escape as a kill because they had to rely on had holding mechanics bc they're complete trash at the game.
If you have more than 10 hours in the game in Solo Q, you'd know this isn't just 2 problems.
This discussion isn't a mori bad key bad discussion. I don't agree with moris and I dont agree with keys. What is the point?
So you just admitted that solo q get stomped. Proves my point.

kindred alone doesnt really help solos if you start buffing killers to the point to be competitive.
I think most killers wouldnt mind that, but having kindred in exhange for SWF balance would lead to even more punishment for solos, since it doesnt replace voicecomms at all.
Kindred was just one example. I'd rather have kindred base kit than having some kid screaming at me in voice chat.
-
I'll give killers a kill if they played fair, I'm sure I'll blackpip or it was a farming match

Recently I've been talking about this (about 10 mins ago) and this guy is saying about how you should buff things so that communication doesn't affect them, and has now idea how. I said my thing would be implementing in game chat and then balancing killers around that, making it a level playing field. But he's adamant that wouldn't work, what's your opinion?
Voice chat isn't the way to go imo.
There's a lot of information perks that can do the same thing as voice chat. Making some of those base and then buffing killers would be better imo

I mean balancing around SWF is the only logical solution.
When you play competitive teamgames for example, you always can choose to play with friends for example, or go solo... and solo you are always in a disadvantage, thats just the nature of things.
You go in solo, and play vs a premade team you are in a disadvantage, That doesnt mean the balancing evolves around solo players in any form.
I mean you want to buff solo survivors, but thats simply not possible... you can give tools for qol, but what else are you going to do to improve solo without buffing SWF even further?
you can have a build in voicecomm yes, but that simply doesnt fit into the idea of the game. The balancing evolves somewhere in between solo and SWF currently. If you implement voicecomm today, playing killer becomes literally impossible task, since they usually get stomped by swf just to have an easy compensation win against solos...
And there is the problem with the game, the devs don´t go the entire way because they are too scared.
A simple thing would just make kindred base kit, so I can actually use other build like every SWF is able to.
I don't want voice commons and never did. Most of Solo Survivors don't want either.

Well, people that are participating in the forum usually don´t belong to the casual players. They usually play at higher ranks and go against Swf´s way more often.
The problem is, the game already gets balanced around casual survivors, and high rank killers can feel that very well. Imo the game should actually be balanced around SWF.
Instead of solo q survivor you can still play the solo role, killer. and if killers are properly balanced, it should even be way more fun for solo players to play killer isntead of survivor.
What does being casual even have to do with this tho? A lot of people who are casual players only get to red ranks because of SWF. Another reason why Solo Q at red ranks isn't good, because it doesn't matter if you are good at the game, you cannot win if the rest of the team isnt.
The game should only be balanced around SWF is Solo gets put at the same level, which it isn't at all.
I shouldn't have to play killer because Solo Q is a miserable experience. Like I shouldn't have to play in SWF so I can actually know my team aren't rank 20s who got carried to red ranks because they were in a SWF.

wow, farming traps, wanting more BP is so bad, that's literally so toxic /s
Hooking gives you more points than setting traps and letting someone bleedout tho. So it seems like they were just being petty

i got like 500 reports for camping, tunneling, slugging... ofc they will report and ban you... somebody even put a video of me farming traps next to him while letting him bleed out.
95% of the survivor playerbase are salty, and they do everything they can to get you banned.
funny you say that because I get quite a few killers saying they're going to report me.
I even had one saying he was going to report me because I didn't STRUGGLE when he was carrying me and that meant i was hacking lol #########

For me it's worth it because I like to complete things, and having that message show up to prestige on every bloodweb is really annoying.
Also because I main Quentin and he has no cosmetics.

Because not everyone is that good at playing survivor. Yes some of us know these things but a lot just simply don't and the problem is dbd loses just as many old players as new ones that start playing which means you're always going to be paired with newer solo survivors at most ranks ( I got rank 5 by day 3 when I started).
The sad reality is solo life is painful and no matter what we're always going to get paired with survivors less experienced than us so we either play SWF or we just have to deal with it and accept that it is what it is.
New MMR soon though I mean last time they tried it was not good at all but we can only keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.
Last time with MMR me as a red rank solo surv was getting rank 10-20 team mates. No thanks.

Is it worth cleansing dull totems? I have been doing it, because some hex’s can transfer or don’t start until the end game.
A lot of people here seem to think it’s a waste of time.
It's always worth to cleanse them. You don't want to be that guy that looked at a dull totem and didn't feel like cleansing it even tho it's a free 1k points, and then the killer have noed.

Most common killers for me at red ranks: Huntress, Pyramid Head and Spirit. I sometimes see a Deathslinger or too.

I would like to add "Why do you immediately sabotage the hook we spawed next to?" Or am I the only one who has been stuck with someone like that?
As for the others:
1. I don't, but I will curse my luck if I hear that heartbeat within the first 10 seconds.
2. I can't loop for #########.
3. Unless I have a friend in the match, I'm concerned about getting my tail out, the rest if you are fair game.
4. Priorities and convenience, if I find one better to cleanse it now than risk NOED, but I'm not scouring the map for them unless it's something like Ruin or Huntress'.
5. It's always the person I save that triggers it.
6. Nope, keep running and try to break LoS, unless I am certain I can get the stun.
7. I don't, I find a corner or at least decent cover.
8. I see no sense in walking around injured any longer than necessary unless you're running perks that benefit from it. Always better to be at full health, even against instant down/expose killers. You're easier to find when you're injured.
I totally forgot that one. I think some don't know the killer gets notified by it?

Any build with iron maiden because I love to spam the screams, it just looks hilarious to me I don't care if I get 1 hit.
-
Killers already get way more BP for that reason though. I dont think making it x1.5 would improve it too much
-
Around 250-350$ easily with cosmetics, rifts etc
-
I see way more killers complaining to be honest.
Only survivors I see complaining play solo and we have our reasons to, since this game is balanced around SWF and not the solo experience.
-
SWF is more powerful than killers right now
^ fixed it for you. Solo Q is still the worst experience.

Because not everyone wants to use a boring point farming build, nor would one work on every single killer...
It's just silly
It is boring to use point farming builds, but with the low BP you get as survivor is almost necessary.

After reading this post. I went to queue up as killer. Right now is 822am. Prime time for survivors and longest wait time for killers. I put a timer on, on my phone, and hit ready at the same time. I got into a game exactly at 4 mins 20 seconds.
So why don't YOU speak for urself.
I did, I didn't generalize, I said MY times.

What about perks like Proove Thyself or the killer addons that give bonus points during the match? With those you max out the points in a category in no time. Proove Thyself 1 1/2 gens = maxed out objective points. Little incentive to keep doing gens from there on.
Wraith with Distressing and the Beast addon = 3 hits until he maxed out points.
Shouldn´t those perks/addons incentivise getting more points? With the current layout, they are useless.
One of the reasons I stopped using prove thyself. You max out so fast I don't want to do more gens for literally no reward.

Yea but killer wait times are never more than 5 mins at the peak. Survivor wait time can be 10-20 mins at night.
Also killer wait times are morning to the afternoon. Survivor wait times starts in the late afternoon all evening, and all night, into the early morning.
Speak for yourself. My Killer Q times are more than 5 mins in the morning. And they used to be wayyyy longer months ago.
-
I have to agree. It's annoying to run the killer for almost the whole game and at some point not even getting points. Same with doing gens.
-
@Mandy said:
I have absolutely no problems with queue times. My survivor ones are pretty much instant and my killer ones are currently taking a minute or two.
Queue times seem to be very dependent on your rank/location/time of day so the majority of people are not having an issue with their queues.
This. Survivor Q times for me is instant in the morning, and for killer takes longer. The opposite at night.

Yeah the end game collapse was supposed to at least help with that problem, but all it did was make the end game boring. Personally, I enjoyed fighting for hatch at the end. I wish they'd put it back the way it was.
Said like someone who knows nothing what they're talking about lol.
I really do not to go back to hatch standoffs and waiting there for 10mins + until someone just lets the other win.
Also the endgame collapse did help. I remember playing before and having survivors at the gate with crows already for minutes on end waiting for me. That doesn't happen anymore unless they want to die.
-
Me. I've gotten penalties before because every update they push out is corrupted and has to be verified.
-
Hopefully yea. It's already annoying going against a huntress without it and their bus sized hatchets, even worse with the iri head addon.
-
If someone farms me from the hook in front of the killer, i just let myself get downed again so they don't get a safe unhook and dont get a wglf stack.
-
Pebble.
Pebble is really situational but in end game when you're the last survivor and need to open a gate, it is quite good to bait the killer into going to the wrong place, giving you time to open yours.
-
Rank 1 solo survivor here. My rank is usually between 1-3. I'm also devotion 17 and I rarely play SWF.
It doesn't make solo less frustrating tho. A lot of survivors at red ranks got carried there by SWF and it shows.

To be fair I do this but more with survivors, which is kind of silly since they're just skins (besides blendette).

Yes if your team mates aren't potatos

I never stream snipe because I always dodge streamers. Not because of the "streamer bad" stereotype people have on here sometimes, but because it makes me really nervous knowing I'm being watched by outside people when I'm playing.

Calling it game breaking may be a bit much. Unfair? Yes, but it doesn't break the game.
The fact that so many totem spots like that made it through is quite embarressing for BHVR. Given that they've been attempting to fix all the bugs from the last chapter release.
Which I made a list for, and the total amount of bugs it came out to was roughly 150 if I remember correctly.
Not being able to cleanse an hex totem is game breaking tho. You can give the argument that you can still win the game, sure. But you can still win the game without hooking people and just slugging all four, making not being able to hook also not game breaking. It is.

How is that related to survivors still being able to stay under the hook?
-
Nothing annoys me more than going to unhook a survivor and being unable to because there's another one downed under the hook and it makes me heal them instead.
