I have noticed that. I'm returning after some time away and the maps seem to have more notable foggy effects. Even the fog offerings have some (albeit still mild) meaning to them now.
This is only a gopd thing, from my perspective. Get some spooky back
-
Whilst I love seeing licenses in the game, alongside all the possibilities of future options, sometimes I'll be looking at fanmade ideas and there are so many good possibilities.
Amongst them, I've seen takes on mythological creatures, military, futuristic killers, ghosts and spirits, Entity-kissed beasts and original creations I cannot begin to describe accurately enough. All of them could be amazing ideas, and it would be great to see more of them.
Of course, licenses can bring in the big money, so it's understandable. However, as shown by some chapters such as Cursed Legacy and All Things Wicked, original titles can very profitable, given the right build-up and design. If anything, bringing the excitement back of new chapter build-ups, rather than spoiling in advance, can be just as good for the pockets.
-
I do like the fact survivors get a new tool into their arsenal. Some may love it, and others may choose what works for them already, but variety is important Glad they included it.
The star for me was Pyramid Head's add-on revamp. It's now more varied and interesting - good job.
-
Pretty much the same as OP: that a killer will target a specific survivor and heavily prioritise that one survivor to eliminate as quickly as possible, even if better options exist.
Reasons for tunnelling can vary from: identifying a weak player, being unconfident in their abilities, finding one survivor is being as arse, a survivor getting into their head, needing pressure, or as simple as they want to finish the game quickly. There are possibly a few other reasons too.
I play 50/50, and don't tunnel.
-
Unfortunately, all that's happened is they've knocked a second off each tier. It still acts the same, so it's not really any major upgrade. Bit disappointed with that, as I'd rather it gives a few seconds Undetectable when moving again.
-
I'd go for stranger, sillier or item-related perks. Some brief examples:
A killer perk that causes survivors to trip over vaults, causibg them to fall for a second or two, yet will make a killer slip a metre in a random direction if they vault it to (although they don't fall).
A survivor perk which allows them to gather herbs around the map, with which to forge into status-buffs.
A killer perk that acts like an add-on one killer has, such as having a pallet stun cause the survivor to lose a health state.
A survivor perk which perhaps allows the survivor to use Vigo's knowledge to spawn a hatch, albeit it just teleports the survivor to the basement or another hatch.
A killer perk which allows elemental damage.
A survivor perk which can allow them to find and decipher runes on the map, which in turn can help them with map or killer knowledge.
Other perks could include: Memes; offers additional BP or EXP (they need to bring those back); spawn various items of objects that can be used to gain an advantage; shares killer powers and so on.
-
It would be nice to have a killer tutorial which allows players to test any killer against 1 survivor in a small arena. Having that could allow people who wish to play survivor to still dip into killers to understand how their power works, understand them a little, and then use that knowledge to survive better against those killers.
-
I don't have any strict rules, so it can be arbitrary what I choose to do with the last survivor. It depends on challenges, any goals I want to achieve, feeling, how the trial went and so on.
However, during the trial I do aim to hook every survivor once each at the beginning, then never hook the same survivor twice in a row afterwards. If it feels like MMR gave them a harsh turn of fate and I somehow end up facing newer players, I'll most likely 2 hook each then assist them with either the escape or practice. I remember being new and some killers were great with me in that regard, so I wish to keep that tradition alive.
-
Killer: "You call that a knife? This .. is a knife" (Crocodile Dundee quote)
Survivor: He designs ads that "transcend humanity"
-
I nearly always use a completely random set up of perks, add-ons, offerings and items, which has basically kept me interested in the game (bar the long break when my Xbox got broken) and does so now as well. Some can be pretty fun, and bizarrely entertaining.
One today was as Wraith with Unnerving Presence, Distressing, the "Beast" add-on and a Bone Clapper - the latter of which was so out of place, yet somehow it confused the survivors so much they were panicking! Fun as heck, though.
Also, worth looking at making completely useless builds that are way too protective over stupid stuff. I had a "Don't Boon My S***", which was: Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt, Shattered Hope, Hex: Haunted Grounds, Dominance. Is this a good build? Hell no! Does it stop Booners on the 1 in 30 trials I may come across? Oh yes! ... Mini-stonks.
Anyway, it's worth playing about with. Also, "No Mither" barely doesn't come up, or I choose to ignore it. Chaos Shuffle, but more enjoyable!
-
I'd be happy to get somenvoicelines for the Silent Hill survivors. Granted, hearing James bang on about Mary may get tiresome after a while, but that's his problem.
Also, since Cheryl got her Princess Heart costume, it's only right we should get the first Legendary double-skin by bringing in Douglas Cartland in both detective and "underpant detective" flavours.
-
If this were to be true, and I cannot think why because it goes entirely against what was done to map offerings (and the reason why), this would be a bad move by BHVR. Voting for map spawns can be annoying too, but this would damage all they did to address this.
This could also be deliberately false information by the person who disclosed it, or from the devs to root out any further leakers in their midst.
Plus, the 2 licensed survivors are on the roadmap as a licensed chapter, which to me implies they won't be released as a midchapter, but get their own.
Of course, anything could happen. I hope it's wrong though.

I'm gonna assume it's cos in the endgame chat OP is complaining to the other survivors about how their haste stacking wasnt fun for him. Yet it doesn't look like he cared much for Taurie's fun lol
Yeah, it's that exactly. I just enjoyed the change in mood. It's a type of humour I like.

That axe is Wraiths weapon for his new oufit
After I wrote what I did, it did come to my attention afterwards - from the clue of the mask and the figure in the mirror - that it was the Wraith, so my error. I just kept quiet, hoping nobody would notice. :D

I mean, comparing the BP of Taurie vs everyone else (7k vs 30k+) it pretty much means that Taurie spent basically just as much time playing the game as she spent in lobby while the others, even if they died eventually, played an almost full match.
And people say this game isn't 50/50 split! :D

Really goes to show where this community's priorities are
Because why have a discussion about the fact that Survivors can outrun Killers with minimal effort when we can instead make jokes about what happened to the one person I was able to chase normally lmaoYou were harshly voted down for this comment, I thought! I gave you an upvote, because I do see what you mean genuinely and it must be frustrating in those circumstances.
But I do like the lighter side of things at times.

Taurie didn't bring an item for Springtrap to eat. She should have seen this coming.
That's fair. Taurie is still holding her grudge against the Entity, just because it put her on the team she didn't want to be on.
-
As a side, I love the direction of this post. What started as a fair question about haste stacking has quickly turned into: "What did you do to Taurie, you monster!".
-
I wonder if she will one day. If you look at the loading screen, set on the vanity table is a strange, mask-like object that appears to have a larger Viking bladed axehead. Perhaps she may fashion that ornamental object into a weapon if she chooses to enter the trials in future.
Afterall, we're still on the lookout for Benedict Baker and Vigo, amongst others. At some point it would be terrific to see those two (and maybe even some of the survivors who provided quotes for the original, free-for-all perks).

Arguing about gaslighting is irrelevant to the point I made. Also, I explained my reasoning, so everyone can post their POV about reliability of stats.
However, if we you wish to scrutinize my terminology, my POV is that devs create stats and use it as a guidance for "balance", i.e., 60/40. But they are aware that huge chunk of DC matches would anyway end up in 3k or 4k, i.e., snowballing Nurse, Oni , Blight and many other situations
without disclosing it, makes SoloQ survivors question their sanity when their stat sheet shows over 40% escape rate, when actually I would barely escape once every 6-7 matches. That is gaslighting. The example given isn't gaslighting; it's omission of data, and the point stands that the devs have been crystal clear about what makes the stats.
As you say, "gaslighting" isn't relevant to the point being made, but it is relevant when falsely accusing others in a post. It's misleading. Anyway, other than that I was in agreeance with you that more info was ideal, so if the "gaslighting" aspect was irrelevant, then why focus on that instead of noting I supported the general idea? You have the positive point, so why focus on the "irrelevant" negative?
-
It would be nice to see 2 separate stats: 1 without disconnections and 1 including the disconnections to see how great a difference disconnecting does make to the game. Without that we can only make assumptions, since people's perspectives vary wildly from barely seeing any to seeing a disconnect every other match. I do agree with OP that it would be useful to have an idea of how much of a percentage of trials are affected by players leaving, because then we can have an actual figure to base things on.
However, I don't agree with OP's use of the word "gaslight". Whilst it is true the results don't include these, the very fact BHVR have made it evidently clear that this is a total minus the disconnects shows they are transparent in what the figures are in relation to and therefore no gaslighting is happening in this respect. Gaslighting would be if they refused to say whether disconnects counted or not, or even lied and said the total includes disconnects.
Maybe it is better reword this as why BHVR refuse to show - or at least offer a separate set of results - disconnects to be seen by all. It would be nice to give this info.
-
Shame the poll didn't work, but I'd be for it as skins you could earn with Shards. I'm not sure the effort would be worth their time to give that option as a base given as it costs, but skins sure!
-
It's good overall. The last 4 trials I put a random Map Offering on and it only went there once, so on this incredibly minor test it seems that the reduced chance is doing its work.
-
Perhaps create an Iridescent shade of clothing.
-
It definitely was. Saying it's not, just because of an unrelated thing not having something, is nonsensical at best. The fact it also can be a benefit to others has nothing to do with it.
It's like saying subtitles is only for people who may have missed part of what was being said and not for people who can't hear the talking.
This is definitely one of the more unusual troll posts, but well done for originality.

Pyramid Head has a baby with Spirit, who becomes known as the "Extra-Cute-tioner".
Slightly overpowered, as her powers are the Executioners, but invisible so survivors can see bugger all.
Perks:
1. Forced Fury: When pallets are broken 4/3/2 times, Forced Fury activates. The next time the killer is stunned, the survivor becomes Injured (if healthy) and Broken for 60 seconds (if injured).
2. Hex: Haunted Torment: At the start of the trial, one Toten becomes Hexed. When the Totem is cleansed, the killer becomes Undetectable until 10/20/30 seconds after the next generator is completed.
3. Deathcore: When a survivor is healed more than 40m away from you, the healer will scream, revealing their location, and become Exposed for 60 seconds. This perk cannot activate whilst a survivor is affected by the perk, and has a cooldown of 80/70/60 seconds.
-
Recently I just started 2 other games: "Coral Island" - a cosy farming and village life simulator based on a rather lovely island, and "Post Trauma" - an older man finds himself in some Silent Hill world and looking to escape.
Ying and Yang.
-
I like to listen to the music the games provide me. Unless it's a mobile game, anything else takes me out of the immersion.
-
Those who harass and threaten anybody, just because of some simple comment, are quite simply fecal matter. Cowards who wouldn't say "boo" to a goose if face-to-face.
If the best thing in life they've got to do is threaten somebody over something so trivial, it's no wonder humanity is falling into the void.
-
As said by @MechWarrior3, all emotions are food for the Entity.
The reason why the trials exist is because "fear" is perhaps the strongest emotion there is, and it ties in not just with other negative emotions like "anger" and "despair", but it can also cause strong, positive emotions to arise such as "hope" and "excitement". Technically, it could make a lovey-dovey paradise where everybody is happy, but then it misses out on a complete buffet of strong emotions.
-
The Unknown has the most terrifying appearance, and the build up was the best for any original chapter BHVR have done.
Granted, the power seemed at odds with the promotion (looked like it was to be some leaping power with mimicry), so it was closer to Spirit in terms of whom I'd choose for this poll.
Ultimately though, it's freaky, weird and still has scare value in the teleportation ability. An original concept.
-
Mainly because headcannon. It's fine for people to believe their own interpretation or imagined view of this game multiverse. It's when people try to force their opinions as fact upon others when it becomes a problem, because people like to see different facets and interpretations in spite of what evidence the devs provided.
If somebody admits it's their headcannon and not true to lore, but likes it as they wish to see it for them alone, only the most retentive of back passages would be upset by this. It's just important to state whether someone is discussing actual lore based upon the evidence we have, or a fun headcannon idea.
-
With so many universes, it is highly possible currently a clan of Belmonts trained up by the Greybeards as the new Dragonborns have taken over the Death Star, and currently arriving to liberate the planet Keplar-22b from Mecha-Dracula and an army of Xenomorph/ Stay Puft Marshmallow Men hybrids.
So yes, anything is potentially possible with such logic.
-
The lore could be whatever you'd like it to be, so maybe they are. On the other hand, with so many multiverses out there, there's room for so many powerful beings, some of which could make the Entity look like a kitten. They could be separate or the same, depending on which multiverse(s) they originated one.
As an example, there's a podcast called "The Magnus Archives" which also features similar entities which can warp reality, travel multiverses (albeit with some assistance) and feed on fear. In fact, the trials could very well be a realm of one or more of these Fears.
Basically, every big entity from IT, to Cthulu, to the Entity, to the Fears, to numerous gods and more probably have similar powers. If the multiverses are infinite, then anything is possible and - as you pointed out - every idea, dream, story, game, etc.. could exist in many different forms.
-
We're talking millions - both survivor and killer. It's rumoured by some that the very first killer was a failure and thrown into the void, with the Trapper being the first successful killer, although some strong coercion was required.
The Entity has managed to get its claws into numerous dimensions, numerous worlds, and taken in trillions of souls. The origin of the Void I don't know about, nor sure if this has been discussed, but it's meant to exist way above all the other realms (of which we only play a tiny portion of. Whatever you imagine could be a realm, survivor or killer, there is probably likely to be at least one iteration, somewhere).
-
I would bring the HUD changes as the main thing. It has improved my SoloQ experience exponentially, but more than that I feel if it was introduced much earlier on, then survivors may be much more confident and aware than they are now.
HUD is definitely the top choice, but honourable mentions go to: Basekit Borrowed Time, Alternative game modes, FOV slider, and the visible heartbeat and colourblind systems. Those would have made the game healthier in its earlier stages.
-
It's hardly a legal matter, and "compensation" has no place in a scenario where balance is considered for a particular perk.
The problem lies with how it works alongside certain perks, making it a tedious and unbalanced perk. Honestly, BHVR would be better off reverting the perk and adding the BP bonus back.
-
If any topic is meant to generate a decent discussion, starting it with excuses for any argument in advance of what you are about to talk about instantly makes the whole conversational side mute and irrelevant. Your view of reality is not the only possible reality, and it may be surprising to know that people may disagree because what they experience is completely different.
Before anything can be debated, you need to rethink how you start a discussion, because basically saying: "I'm right, and if you disagree then you are wrong" is an unhelpful claim to make. It just goes to show that a) you aren't willing to be open to challenges, and b) it's not a statement to be taken with any seriousness.
-
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt is overtuned. The cleansing, mixed with anything which can disrupt conspicuous actions (such as Hex: Face the Darkness) is an unenjoyable experience.
Hopefully, the numbers will be downgraded in the upcoming patch.
-
I've always wanted a survivor to be someone who worships the Entity, yet somehow gets thrown into the least desireable role. Whilst she's not a part of the fabled Black Veil, it appears she's in a cult equivalent which still recognises the Entity.
Whilst I somehow occasionally get confused between Black Talon and Mortal Kombat's Black Dragon (which makes me wonder how Kano would be as a killer), I like the twist. It shows that praying to this universe-sized amoeba doesn't secure anything.
Hopefully, a Black Veil member will also appear in the fog - as well as some more of the Pariahs - to add more depth into the lore. Maybe, a Black Veil member who wants to be a survivor for some unknown purpose.
-
I like the fact that you've stuck to your guns with this list. I do have one question though:
You mention that this is based more on SoloQ and the usefulness it has for the team. I also noted you've put Bond at F-tier.
Obviously it's all down to personal preference, yet Bond I would say is a really good SoloQ perk, which gives so much information that can be beneficial for the team. I'm just wondering why you feel it's so low.

Whilst BHVR has made big steps to improve the experience, the same cannot be said for the maturity levels of some players. I feel that needs to be changed first because a vast majority of those I've seen or experienced don't DC or end themselves on hook because of the game, but mostly because they messed up and cannot blame themselves.
-
I've experienced that moreso in relation to the killer. Some players just have an allergic reaction to some killers which triggers an irrational response.
As survivor, I've only noted it when one has Object of Obsession and when that comes up in my randomizer I am fully aware of what is most likely to happen. Escaping those trials are the most rewarding, because they really want me dead (understandably!).
-
Revert it amd increase the BP you could get from it.
Yes, I know they want to remove BP bonuses from perks for some pointless and fickle reason, but if I could choose I'd return it to the original strength and increase the BP bonus to 100% for the Hunter category for as long as the Totem exists.
A bit like Distressing when it used to have 100% bonus for Deviousness category actions. They ought to revert the BP bonuses for that and other perks too.
-
Nicely done! He's a tough one to play, so hats off to you!
-
Definitely not a griefing issue when survivors do that to distract the killer or cause confusion. It can be used as a good tactic to move killers away from survivors who are in serious trouble, or used to anger or annoy the killer into making a mistake. It's not something I do, but there is definitely a purpose to it.
It's more annoying if a survivor has seperation anxiety at the end of the trial from the killer and really needs them to see them cross the exit gate, but that's more along the lines of being a bad winner (and in some ways, it can even be reassuring that you may have lost the trial, but you didn't lose at life like they did!).
The time it does get to me - regardless which side I'm playing - are the ones who spam vault because they want to die, or have crows due to not playing. I am perfectly fine with reporting them (and has resulted in action with respect to the spam vaults). T
-
If they change this back t9 how it was and stop removing BP from perks, that would be nice. If anything, return it to how it was and increase the BP reward by a significant amount.
I know they won't add the BP bonus back, but it's depressing this was even considered an issue.
-
They targetted Taurie on release because she's the only one guaranteed to use it early on. This will fade after a few days. These post-release spurts of tactics have happened before, such as when Mikaela was released, or the increase in Territorial Imperative when Sable was released. It'll go.
As for whether it's griefing, the answer is "No". Were this the case, anybody could accuse Killers of griefing over flashlights, perks, etc. It's just a tactic.
