  • No Survivor of mine ever goes into a trial without a full belt of charms. What charms these are depends on the character and are subject to change, with one exception. In Slot 1 I have one particular charm that's present on everyone, regardless of who they are. Yes, even Legendaries. The Broken Mill charm never leaves my Survivors' side (well, one exception being that secret Soma Cruz badge).

    DBD-CharmWindmill.png

On some characters I have dedicated charm setups.

    1) My two mains have charms referencing each other as well as their own lore:

Claudette: Broken Mill, Jonah Figurine, Ficus Elastica Plant
Jonah: Broken Mill, Claudette Figurine, Stuffed Crow

    2) Alan Wake, Rose Marigold and Saga Andersson each have their own set of charms:

Alan: Broken Mill, Typewriter, Entity-Covered Flashlight
Rose: Broken Mill, Alan Figurine, Oh Deer Diner Thermos
Saga: Broken Mill, Alex Casey Lunchbox, Mr. Drippy

    3) Trevor Belmont, Alucard and Soma Cruz equally have their own charm setups:

Trevor: Broken Mill, Vampire Killer, Wall Chicken
Alucard: Broken Mill, Alucard's Shield, Gothic Lantern
Soma: Broken Mill, Giant Bat Soul, Foreboding Map

    Other fixed charm setups:

    4) Lara Croft:
Broken Mill, Skeletal Crow, Climbing Axe [bloody prestige outfit]
Broken Mill, Skeletal Crow, Mimic Chest [other outfits]

    5) Nicolas Cage:
Broken Mill, Dramaturgy Perk Charm, Cursed Videotape [bloody prestige outfit]
Broken Mill, Dramaturgy Perk Charm, Wrathful Well [other outfits]
Broken Mill, two Reign of Kaiju charms [specifically for the cosmetic where he has as Reign of Kaiju shirt]

    6) The Troupe:
Broken Mill & Kate's Guitar are standard. Depending on the cosmetic loadout slot they can have the following D&D themed charms as well:
    - Owlbear plush
    - D20 Dice
    - Bag of Holding

I dont bother with Charms in general anymore, simply because the menu for them is really clunky. You cannot even see what you type when you search for them. The last Survivor who got charms was Soma, but only because of the Badge which can be unlocked when using the 3 Soul-Charms.

I usually used a Pride-Charm and the highest Rift- and Tome-Charm on all of my characters. But overall, I think two changes should be made to Charms (on top of making searching and equipping them less awkard… But this goes for the whole customization, sadly BHVR likes to commit to things which make the game worse by adding extra steps…):

    • Survivor Charms should be bigger to be more noticeable
    • Charms should not be locked to either Survivor or Killer. Yes, it might be out of place if a Killer has a cute charm on their Hook or the Survivor a gruesome one, but this is not really an argument anymore if we get Neon-Skins, BDSM-Skins or things like Mr. Puddles…

You can still see what you're typing, you just need to click on the charm icon again to remove the overview of the three charms you have equipped to reveal the search bar below it.

  • This may be a result of the 2v8 feature that allows the Scout class to rebuild broken pallets. You see their aura even when they're gone, so you know where to go and rebuild them. Somehow it made its way into the regular 1v4 too. Same with hatch closing and triggering EGC after escaping through it, that was also not a thing before the first iteration of 2v8. Because in 2v8, a hatch can only be used once and has to close if it's used, causing the same to happen in 1v4.

Wooow those all look great 🤩

    1. Celebratory very nice
    2. My favorite one. The blood is great. 🩸
    3. This is for when you’re playing nice huh? Love it.

The theming on all of them is great. Plus I love the charms you’re using for the standard Artist.

I’m so curious, what charms are you using for Miss Fuchi?

    Thanks 😍!

The nice thing about Artist is that most of her weapons are pitch black, just with different shapes. This means you have a lot of mixing and matching options because you don't have to worry about colours not matching. I haven't tried it yet, but the weapon from her Dominus rift cosmetic (which has a red tip) might also go well with loadout #2. A golden weapon would be awesome for #1.

Right now I have no specific charm setup for Miss Fuchi, she just 'borrowed' the charm setup already assigned to #3 (Inkwell, Pentimento, Winged Troublemaker). I was thinking about using the Fancy Crow charm from the current rift for her, but I am nowhere near that tier yet :D.

Before the candy weapon, I used the Lethal Creeper weapon for #3. And no, that is not my 'nice guy' fit 😂. I can and will 4K with it just as with any other combo.

  • On Artist I have 3 primary cosmetic combos, each with their own Crow charm. Although right now I am playing as Miss Fuchi Artist, whose outfit I have in Slot 3. My two standard Artist charms are the Inkwell and the Hex: Pentimento perk charms.

I noticed this too. There's the Alan Wake typewriter one that's not animated as well. If they're not animated, I don't understand what makes them Ultra Rare. There's a lot of inconsistencies with their rariry system in general.

The Typewriter charm actually does have animation, but it's very subtle. The keys will glow and highlight several letters, spelling a word (I think it's Wake or Wake Up). Which is why I left it out of the examples above :).

All the OG character's halloween heads are currently locked :(

  • To add to this, it does not seem to be permanent. I closed the game after taking these screenshots and upon relaunching, the Artifact cosmetics were locked once more. I don't know if that meant it was fixed already.

  • Yeah, there's a bunch of free cosmetics missing right now :(.

It's called the Lunar New Year collection with a small event to celebrate the year of the snake.

Oh you mean that Community challenge. Yeah, that's just a minor celebratory event but unfortunately not the full LNY we had until 2023, after which we got Blood Moon.

  • There is no Lunar New Year event, it's just a cosmetic.

LNY was retired in favour of Blood Moon.

  • 20250128194802_1.jpg

Tome 22 unfortunately did not fix this break from tradition!

  • 20250128194820_1.jpg

It looks like, unfortunately, have to add another charm to this list! Unless the preview in the Archives does not correspond to how it's actually in-game, we have another un-animated Ultra Rare charm :(.

  • I ran into that same issue recently as well, and was able to record it happening:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0djvKG9feME

You can see on the HUD that the Claudette bot is spamming the interaction with a Jigsaw box, but never committing to it. Then she dies in front of the box.

  • Also not picked up yet. Still present in the most recent patch.

  • Still not picked up yet, this issue is still present in the current patch. Another example, this time when hooking Alucard:

    https://youtu.be/2oqbPMJgtXw
  • Hasn't been picked up yet, still present in the most recent patch.

  • That sounds like a weird interaction. To clear things up:

    - Were there any teammates close to the hook? Even when downed, the proximity of teammates slows down the timer or stops it completely.
    - Was this in endgame (all gens completed / hatch closed / End Game Collapse in progress? If so, the anticamp meter is disabled in these situations.

  • Chiming in.

With the release of the Dungeons & Dragons chapter, the order in which prestige cosmetics are assigned was changed for a then unknown reason. On Survivor, the order should be Torso, Legs, Head but was changed to Head, Torso, Legs. The same happened on Killer (with the intended order being Weapon, Torso, Head).

Funnily enough this did not work retroactively, so prestiging any character from before the D&D chapter would give you the bloody cosmetics in the correct order.

However, this turned out to be a bug and was fixed in the 8.4.0. patch: "Fixed an issue that caused Aestri Yazar, Lara Croft, Trevor Belmont, The Lich and The Dark Lord Prestige outfits unlock in wrong order."

It looks like they didn't take away the wrong prestige item, causing you to now have 2 of them while still on P4.

  • @Feneroe said:

Random addons would be fun, with some exceptions. The ones that just purposely make a killer worse shouldn't be a chance to get.

Also, they should remove No Mither from the survivor list. It's so painful to get in Chaos Shuffle.

Well, removing bad add-ons would defeat the purpose of the Chaos Shuffle imo. You can equally get a bad build with perks that don't synergise at all with each other. That's the whole point. So having that same risk with your add-ons only makes sense imo.

  • Well, let them stand there at the exit gate all day if that's what they want. They are wasting their own time too, and for nothing if you never show up to watch them leave.

Go around the map, break any walls you can find, any dropped pallet that's still lying around, or just find a nice, comfy spot to afk in until the timer is up.

  • @100PercentBPMain said:

Is he bugged again? Or is this now a feature?

It's a feature implemented in the rework. His dream pallets now function similarly to party pallets from the anniversary event, on top of acting like landmines.

  • Custom Game is a sandbox mode with unlimited access to add-ons and perks. It's meant to allow people to quickly test various things, explore maps, try out killer powers.

What this mode needs most of all is at least one killer bot (Trapper), so that you can also play Survivor without the need of a buddy.

But making any sort of progress available completely defeats the point, because why would anyone bother with the live queue?

  • It is worth noting that in the current Bone Chill event, both roles have a 100% incentive by default to make up for the bugged Mistle Toe offerings. This can go up to 125 or 150 but won't drop below 100.

  • They should make it so that anon mode players can't type in chat (both before and after a match), similar to console players. That would mitigate most of the problems with it.

Would it stop people from excessively BM'ing during the match? Not really, most of the time it's not even anons who do that. I've come across individuals who do it for the sole purpose of collecting -reps on their profiles and reveling in it.

But yeah, anon mode yapping in end game chat should stop. Or people need to grow a pair and actually have the decency to talk smack with their usernames visible. Cowardly hiding behind anon mode is just sad.

Clicking on the Charms icon will remove the pop-up window and reveal the search bar below.

i just started playing this game recently and realized that the holiday chests are not in the bloodweb and currently its the bone chill holiday event. Is there any way to unlock this achievement or is it unobtainable?

This achievement dates from a time when 'mystery boxes' existed in the Bloodweb at all times, which made it relatively easy to get.

However, they removed these a while ago and now they only appear during select events, such as the Anniversary, Haunted by Daylight and Bone Chill. Just keep leveling up your characters, you'll get the mystery boxes.

No achievement in Dead by Daylight is unobtainable. Some of them have become quite difficult to do over the years, but you can get them.

  • I have recorded two instances of the Winter Party Starter making no sound at all when dropped. Once out of a chase, and once in a chase.

    https://youtu.be/kkRhQHRcFvc https://youtu.be/mPph9dpleJE
  • I'm noticing in your screenshots that all displayed cosmetics are of Very Rare quality. Could it be that you have a filter set to only display those? You can change the filters using the icon to the right of the Search bar.

Yeah, I just finished a match where I threw snowskulls at every snowman that screamed and jumpscare me and nothing…so I dont know what Im doing wrong here at all. I honestly think the challenge is bugged.

If you trigger the jumpscare it's already too late. You have to hit them before they get a chance to do that.

Just chuck snowballs at every snowman you find and you should get it no problem.

  • Can confirm as well, though without footage.

When playing Survivor and dropping a Winter Party Starter, it makes no sound at all (it should make some kind of sizzling sound before exploding). I'll try to record some footage tomorrow and add it here.

  • 20241213204942_1.jpg

Screenshot to clarify my above post.

  • That's not a bug, but an intended effect of the perk Weave Attunement:

"Whenever an Item is depleted for the first time, it is automatically dropped."

In your clip, you used up your toolbox so it dropped immediately after it ran out of charges.

  • Make sure to select the event queue, instead of the normal one.

  • Second week in a row that the BP icon does not have that particle effect anymore :(.

I’m convinced this rise in cheating is in protest to the AFK penalty.

I had a killer yesterday who just ran up the stairs and off the balcony of Eyrie until all the gens were done - it’s not going to make any difference.

That player was most likely just farming the Deadly Plunge achievement, which requires you to fall a total of 1000 meters. It's an achievement that was added with the Doomed Course chapter.

I've done the same thing at least twice, Eyrie main building is a really nice spot for that.

The AFK penalty can stay imo. Don't queue up for an online game if you're not actually ready to play.

  • I ran into the same cheater twice yesterday but never suffered a DC penalty.

This is maybe because I was able to move a bit before being caught. I believe that if you get grabbed and hooked immediately, before pressing any buttons or doing anything, the game thinks you were AFK and applies a penalty.

Just report the account, with video evidence. This hacker is not-Steam and probably has tons of accounts on Epic so it's an uphill battle, but every account that gets shut down is a win.

  • 20241130132919_1.jpg

    Still present in patch 8.4.0.

  • Did you or your friend use the perk Shoulder The Burden at any point in the match, and accidentally took a hook state from another survivor and transferred it to yourself?

  • This is not a bug.

The Nurse blinked at least once before hitting you, and her blink attacks are considered Special Attacks. This was a nerf that was implemented a long time ago, and it seems the Nurse player didn't get the memo.

Sloppy Butcher, Surge, anything that applies exposed, are all examples of perks that require a Basic Attack to trigger, which the Nurse can still do, but only if she does not blink before hitting. Any attack after a blink is a Special Attack and will not trigger the effects of these perks.

  • Alright, thanks everyone for your explanation :)

We've had so few original survivors lately (Gabriel and Sable are the only ones these past couple of chapters) that I must have forgotten how this works.

Now I know. So, I just have to be patient, is all!

  • ddcharms.png

When they mentioned the D&D-themed Chaos Shuffle in today's livestream, I was hoping to see them finally release the D20 charm.

Unfortunately, no mention of that, BUT I do love the red dragon charm :D.

  • AFAIK it shouldn't matter which cosmetic you equip, even if it's Legendary, because as far as the game is concerned you are still playing the base character. You can do daily rituals and archive challenges as a Legendary character as well because of this.

So this warrants a few questions:

Did you get the Merciless Killer score at the end?
    - This end game result can only be obtained by getting 4 kills and is required for the Adept.

Was at least one of those 4 kills a bleedout?
    - If so, this does not count as a kill towards the 4k. Only hook sacrifices and moris are allowed.

Are you 100% sure you equipped the following perks?
    - Batteries Included
    - Friends Till The End
    - Hex: Two Can Play

1 … 9 10 11 12 13 … 18
