Legion can't down people with their power. It's basically a M1 killer.
Not the point. Just because things are vastly different in terms of strength doesn't mean there are no similarities.

Worth it for cute hair.

Legion is very similiar to spirit 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Chase music gets dulled in Frenzy, footsteps and breathing get intensified, and there's really no counterplay. I think that's the comparison that was being made.
-
I'm all for people running strong, even broken things to win. I just hate it when they try to justify themselves by downplaying said broken things, or pretend it's their opponents fault.
If you wanna win, win. I get it, it's not like I never play with broken toys. My acceptable skill as Nurse and Spirit is proof of that. Hell, I ran Ruin/Undying for two months after it came out. I even run stacked medkits - suck it, killers, you ain't got pressure on me. But I'm fully aware that those toys ARE broken and I suffer no illusions about what I'm doing.
-
I hate toxicity. If players are throwing the game to be toxic, their deaths don't give them a pass. They were toxic.
If players throw games by being overly altruistic and constantly going for (and getting) saves, but aren't being wankers about the whole thing, then it's more am annoyance. Which means I don't like going against them, but I don't hold it against them either.

coordination + good teammates lead to efficiency and time which leads to cleansing totems easier and faster. do you have a grudge for noed?
NOED activates no matter what the killer does. That means it often gets used as facecamping insurance. To be honest, I don't have much of a problem with NOED when the killer using it isn't camping and tunneling. I rarely go against killers that use it while not camping and tunneling. Therefore the perks design is flawed, since it is a burden of the opponent to deactivate it (something that will throw the game unless you have a very good team and/or a very bad killer) instead of the burden being on the killer to earn it.

Both.

I'm trying to remain neutral and understand where you are coming from.
200% regression is only HALF the speed at which Survivors repair gens. So if you think that regression is too fast, surely you must understand why Killer's feel that gens go too fast.
I do, I play as much killer as survivor. That's how I know how BS it is, I used it religiously for the firs two months after Blight's release. I've seen it from both sides and I'm not impressed. As survivor I've tried dedicated anti-totem builds, casual anti-totem builds, none of them matter. My knowledge of totem spawns and DS/UB/DH does better than any of that, but I think we can agree that BS doesn't fix BS.
I mostly play Blight and Legion. Maybe run one slowdown perk on each. And I win about half my trials, and the ones I lose I lose to meta perks and/or actual genrushing more than anything else, which Ruin/Undying doesn't solve. Which leads to it existing purely to help me get 12-hook trials with 2 gens left. Fair, balanced gameplay.

For people struggling with Noed. I suggest not to cleanse every single totem.
Cleanse the difficult to find ones and remember where the easy ones are.
Cleanse one totem and remember 2 and you already have a 50/50 to find noed even when the rest of your team does nothing and it only delayes the gens for 16 seconds
And that's the closest thing NOED has to proper counterplay. Though I would go one further and say to try and see how good your teammates are and try to judge how safe it would be to do the totems. Most of the time it's too dangerous, too likely the killer will get off a snowball, but sometimes you can risk trying to cleanse all 5 before the last gen goes.

All you have to do is pretend its rocket science and expect the devs to nerf it so you can keep being lazy, right?
It really is awful that you have no interest in any sort of proper discussion. Not that I came in here expecting you to, your post clearly spoke for itself. You would rather trade petty insults and pretend that everything is your opponents fault.
-
The regressing stalk is not a good idea. Ghostface has been getting steadily weaker and weaker with each update, because survivors have been doing gens faster and faster on average. The only saving grace Ghostface has is the ability to have multiple people 99'd. Forcing Ghostface to commit to one person like that would make snowballing impossible.

no, im painting the ones who don't do the easy counter while complaining about it the whole time
if you personally do not search and cleanse totems while ruin + undying is up or cleanse a dull totem when you see it while you have some time, that does make you a bit of a lazy survivor though
What easy counter? Cleansing totems? There's nothing easy about that. But you don't care, all you have to do is pretend it's easy and suddenly everyone who disagrees with you is a scrub, right?

Should we have perks that enable tunneling?
Also, your example of how when you equip these perks you win more isn't great. Of course you win more with good gen regression perks.
Let me try a different approach, how would you like Ruin/Undying to be changed?
I think it's a great example. The fact that they are the strongest regression build in the game overrides everything else, and given that things like PGTW, Corrupt Intervention and Sloppy Butcher were already steamrolling most teams before Ruin/Undying... Well, clearly it's not exactly a healthy combo. And it doesn't at all prevent killers from camping it tunneling, it rewards it because no-one wants to watch their teammate get bullied. Health, healthy gameplay.
And yes I want to know how I would nerf it? Nerf Ruin. 200% regression is too much, it's too punishing and survivors have no realistic way of avoiding it thanks to Undying, because there's no realistic way to cleanse all 5 totems and it's unfair to look at the lucky few that knock out Undying immediately and claim that that makes it balanced.
But who cares. Everyone gets points, right? So long as the killer wins?

I never brought game balance into the discussion
I brought the gameplay loop of survivors refuse to do easy counters to remove killers ENTIRE PERKS
then complain that the perks punish their laziness
Heres a very short example of what survivors sound like doing this
you have to press a button 5 times before pressing this other button, even though the other button gives you a reward
survivors but I don't want to push the other button 5 times (complains up a storm)
thats what they sound like
You are trying to paint every NOED/RuinUndying opponent as lazy.

That's healthy gameplay.
Everyone gets to play the game and earn points.
Have you considered that you might be facing bad Survivors? Generally, when I equip Ruin/Undying, it's gone within 2 minutes. There are odd games where its gone in 30 seconds or it never gets cleansed, but generally its up for about 2 minutes.
That's not healthy gameplay and I'm not facing bad survivors. Healthy gameplay isn't camping generators. My survivors don't mysteriously go form borderline deathsquads with all the good stuff and decent looping skills when I don't have Ruin/Undying to mediocre morons when I do that also have all the goods stuff and decent looping skills but mysteriously the gens get massively slowed.
If you want to run perks, run perks. But don't try to come up with justifications for it, just go "I wanna win." There's nothing wrong with that, it's a videogame. When I want to win, I run broken perks and adodns and items. And I accept how broken they are and that, at the end of the day, no amount of justification changes the fact that I win a lot more when I equip them.
-
I'm also seeing an unhealthy gameplay loop. Killers want to win easily, they run NOED for a free kill or Ruin/Undying for a free win, then use the sweaty 4-person or lucky not-sweaty-4-person as an excuse for how totems are perfectly balanced and that it's everyone else whose wrong. Then they start insulting people and talking about "lazy survivors" to attempt to discredit opposing opinions because they can't admit they run these perks because of how strong they are, which is a whole other issue that hurts to see and is identical to the second-chance meta defenders.
And when a killer player comes along and says these perks are broken, they either get ignored or whattabouted.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1848586#Comment_1848586
How isn't it healthy?
It encourages the Killer to spread pressure out over multiple Survivors, instead of tunneling or camping. Would you prefer a perk combo that encourages the latter?
When I slap it on, I 4k constantly with little effort. That's not healthy. And that's ignoring all the times I've gone agaisnt killers that just chase people off of gens with Tinkerer or Discordance and win that way.
-
Ruin is disgustingly strong. The only thing holding it back, making it weaker than old ruin, was the fact that it was usually gone before it could become effective. Now there's this genuinely disgusting combo it gets slapped on to with zero thought that people insist promotes healthy gameplay as they destroy all but the most organised SWF or luckiest randoms.
Seriously, Ruin/Undying is my "I wanna win" combo. I've never had an "I wanna win" combo on killers before, only survivor. It's wierd how much difference there is between the two roles BS.

I would absolutely love it but only when it's raining.

The Devs shot down any chance of DS being paused in a chase. They want chases to only ever benefit the killer and are unwilling to rework the mechanics so that moonwalking doesn't drop the chase.
Otherwise, solid ideas. I especially like the OoO one, but I would make it so that both the survivor and killer can see each other when the survivor leaves the TR.

You’re glossing over it if you say something like that. There’s a difference between making something sexual (“that’s what she said uh derrr”) and underlying sexual themes, such as S&M.
None of which are actually in DbD.
That point of view has to accept that everything turns someone on or else it's extremely hypocritical. What exactly about DbD is sexual? What did the Devs put in to turn people on? Anything? Or is it just a byproduct, a side effect of the fact that humans are inherently horny as #########? That people try to draw similarities to completely different situations?
I gloss over nothing. Its just arrogant to pretend anything other than original intent is important, whether that intent is open and understood or closeted behind layers of "you're just not adult enough."

Please do, it's a nice reminder that you expect NOED to hand the killer a free kill for equipping it and then blame it all on the survivors for not performing an action that throws more games than it saves.
-
If you find someone else to heal you, the two of you can then go pop a gen together in almost half the time it would normally take, avoiding any regression perks in the process. If you run away and self care, you're probably going to screw over your team unless you are willing to interrupt your heal to go be productive.
Self care is hated because people use it to stay healthy. That's a bad idea, especially if you don't have something extra like Botany Knowledge, Desperate Measures, or even Solidarity. Trying to stay healthy when it takes 32 seconds to heal is a really, really bad idea in so many situations. If you're bringing self care, be prepared to not use it.
Edit: What I mean by "trying to stay healthy" is when someone literally stops everything to self care despite it being a bad idea. In a corner or in the middle of the map, it doesn't really matter.

DBD contains lots of sexual connotations.
It´s a game of chase and desire, obsession, submission and dominance, tease and denial. Survivors often sound like they enjoy getting hit, picked up and hooked way too much, most prominent examples being Jane, Feng and Adam.
We have moved away from classic slasher Survivor outfits and got a wide variety of silly, goofy, sexy and cute outfits to make the characters more visually appealing.
It´s no coincidence that this community is the thirstiest of them all, no matter if they´re straight, gay or other.
Everything has sexual connotations if you look for five minutes. Nothing in DbD feels like it qualifies as anything special.
-
No. I would like an AI mode option where you could jump into a KYF and populate the trial with them, but I don't want killer to be removed from the game.
And that's ignoring the moral implications of basically stealing people's money by deleting the thing they bought.

As for the Killer, since Legion is bugged I switched to Blight, my other main.
I don't know if Legion is bugged any more, I've been playing them a fair bit recently and I'm definitely moving more than 115 in FF. Hard to tell if it's back to the normal 130, and if it's just my game being mysteriously unbugged or an actual patch I didn't notice

I actually main Trapper and Myers, but I´ve played tons of Oni recently, ngl he´s leagues above them in power which makes me kinda sad. I´m still kinda clunky but I´m getting better.
I´m using the BP I´m farming with him (he seems to be an insane bp generator) to p3 more Survivors. Kate will be done soon, Feng is next, and I think I´ll leave it at 5. Prestiging is so tedious.
What made you switch to Zarina?
Honestly, pretty much everything. I like her outfits better, I like her look better, she's a lot rarer to see, and I resonate a lot with her lore, at least the childhood part of it.

Wow, that is a lot of bloodpoints to sink into characters

Yes, try to cleanse all 5 totems whilst hoping the killer has the perk and also sucks. That is the counterplay to NOED.
-
Honestly, using a macro seems a little detrimental, or else pointless. Detrimental to have it constantly active, since you're definitely going to get teleports you didn't want that will throw games. Pointless because if you don't have it permanently on you could just mash the button or bind it to a mouse's scroll wheel.

All of Legion's members are dicks tbh..Most the other killers are hopeless, dead and or dying..Or in a sense mind controlled (A deathslinger theory people have).
Legion is up there with the Doctor as "Big jerk who became bigger jerk"...That and well, mugging people and pumping up by playing murder music as you stab people is not very..nice.
Not sure what their musical choice has to do with it, so far as I'm aware they just listen to metal.
-
I don't see how it could be enjoyable to go against. Anything to do with reversing time basicly just means undoing your opponents success. Fine for a single player title, not so much for a game like dbd
-
If it makes you feel any better, you're about 15 hours late for me.
Have a good year!
-
Spirit, Hag, Wraith, Billy, Nurse and The Twins were all victims. Same could be said for Plague and Huntress. Even Blight isn't inherently evil.
A lot of people also say Suzie of The Legion is a victim, and her lore hints at a bad family life, but she literally chased someone down, stabbed him, stole his wallet and left them to bleed out. Crying while commiting group murder doesn't erase that.
-
No, he definitely is. Strong tracking, strong chase power, a little game slowdown and overbuffing add-ons?
-
Yes. Ghostface. I want to see if he's got the sheer murderness of Billy and Stu. Get knocked down, get right back to slashing no matter how many times it happens.
-
The Devs are going to bring in Jason, but instead of putting him in the game they're going to send him out to hunt us all down as the Entities new survivors.

Personal challenge means more learning and makes me a better player, just saying that challenging yourself increases rate of improvement.
So in other words, yes.
-
This has been a giant issue with her ever since dedicated servers got released, and the truly sad part is that the first round of hit validation actually fixed it while it was active. And it also effects her corrupt purge, so... Yeah.
It is honestly the only reason I stopped maining her. Nothing is worse than being in a tense situation where you need to land a shot you aren't going to get a second chance at, only for the survivor to scream in agony as they casually do absolutely nothing else and don't get injured or downed because Git Gud Scrub.
Seriously, I've had trials where I unload a full corrupt purge into someone's face as they're standing still, they do the scream thing, and then for the rest of the corrupt purge instance they are invulnerable because something registered it as hitting them but it didn't actually hit them.

Consistent 4ks yes, easy not always
though you might just be playing him in an easy way instead of challenging yourself to use your power 24/7 or in creative ways, still effective but arguably less fun of a playstyle
So your answer to ridiculously strong killers is to make it harder on yourself and attempt to shame others into doing the same?

It wouldn't make sense to make DS an exhaustion perk, as there's no speed etc attached to DS...so they'd have to give DS another ability as well as the original one, which will make the perk even stronger as a result. Imagine it having the ability to stun the killer and get a speed boost when dropped - that would make the perk even stronger even if you got exhaustion as a result, it's 2 abilities in one perk slot and gives the opportunity to have 3 other perks instead of 2.
Head On gives exhaustion for jumping out of a locker in a somewhat more intense fashion. I can imagine getting pretty tired after stabbing a killer with an invisible stabby thing that totally exists and isn't just the survivor hitting the killer really, really hard in the shoulder. And also getting dropped on the ground at what should be an extremely awkward angle but somehow still landing on your feet and immediately kicking off into a normal sprint. Gotta take some effort, surely?
Not that I'm a fan of the concept - in the strange alternate reality where DS is an exhaustion perk, it would probably just be old DS but on a 40 second cooldown. No, thank you.
-
Nurse. I hate going against Nurse. I'm not lucky enough to only get the incompetent 99% that everyone insists exists.
-
If someone manages to unhook themsleves, whatever. You don't get the benefit of my perks and you've only hurt yourself. Other than that, I don't really care except for when some absolute genius tries it when the killer is nearby and the unhook is urgent. Double congrats if you manages to Kobe, you absolute muffin that now doesn't have BT.
-
First, you had Kindred. Second, the significant majority of players would rather throw the game than sit on gens, which is why certain extremely pleasant and wholesome individuals like to camp basements - they think they good, when in reality the survivors are deliberately killing themselves because it's a casual game so why bother putting your nose to the beltsander when you could just, well, leave via the second route.
-
Blight: BBQ (BP and maybe some tracking if survivors aren't hiding), PGTW (actually disgusting on Blight, you never have to choose between a Pop or a chase), MYC (because who needs extra slowdown when you can speed the trial up) and Enduring (because ######### pallets in this age of survivor-sided stuns). My favourite add-ons are Plague Bile and Umbra Salts, but I'm also liking the new Soul Chemical.
Legion: BBQ (same as above), Spirit Fury/Enduring (because brute force is fun and also Legion Instadown) and either Thanatophobia or PGTW. Add-ons: You're joking, right?
Hag: Literally anything I feel like, it's Hag. I'd have to put in effort to lose in most of my trials. Usually have Sloppy/Thanatophobia for slowdown and BBQ for bloodpoints.
Spirit: Four hexes. Usually Haunted Grounds, TOTH, Devour Hope and either Retribution or Ruin.
-
It sounds like you're a good m1 chaser, which is a far more valuable skill than being good at specifically Nurse or specifically Spirit - their skills don't translate to other killers, but if you're good in a basic chase that's a skill you can take and apply it to other killers.
-

yea but its still on the survivors for putting in effort to only find one thing and leaving behind the other totems so
still a tossup
Not sure I'd call that a toss up, one side is putting in all the effort and the other is using tracking perks to know which generators to camp.
-
Freddy. Draws out the the gens quite a lot with just a few simple perks (not even forever Freddy, just something like Pop/Thrilling does the job). But he has to draw out the gens because no good survivor would ever try to loop him.
