Yeah, it's a nice little tool to sometimes have. Not particularly useful in most trials, but still very nice when it does become useful.

ok so undying allows the killer to see auras when you are within a certain radius of the totem. if the gen is right next to the totem as some are then the killer will have a visual while you are there. simple logic, now you add that it takes you 80 seconds to do a gen alone provided no buff or debuff to that time and you've got what i said.
Undying doesn't reproc unless you leave the AOE, and I wasn't talking about that situation in the first place. Undying allows mobility killers to easily interrupt cleansing, unless two people are cleansing two totems at the same time. Cleansing progress isn't saved so the survivor getting interrupted just wasted all that time looking for and starting the cleanse and now they're a free chase and probably started off by giving the killer a free hit.

so the totem you are ignoring for 80 seconds lets the killer know exactly which gen you are on for that time frame. so why not take it out in 16 seconds then do the gen in relative peace since freddy won't know where to find you. lol
Dunno where this logic is coming from, could you explain in a little more detail?

its got no use but it doesnt make the game feel way worse to play against
Monstrous Shrine is literally a basement camping perk. It is a perk that makes the killer basement camp. It has no other potential utility. If someone has Monstrous Shrine, basement is getting camped. Unless you're twisted AF and enjoy getting basement camped, it is a perk that makes the killer behave in a miserable way. And as we all know, camping is far more effective against solo's than SWF because without Kindred there's no way to see from a distance what is going on, so you have to wander over and get in harm's way just to find out that the killer is, and I cannot repeat this enough, camping the basement. And that time you spend not doing generators, assuming you don't get caught and hooked down there as well, is probably going to be the difference between a 1k and a 2-3k, or even a full-on 4k if you get caught scouting the basement while the killer is camping it. Something easily avoided with comms.
Except it's so poorly designed that it doesn't even make basement camping more effective - it is an almost purely psychological effect. It is a perk that exists to make miserable BMimg killers feel like their BM is more effective.
I'd say that makes it even worse than Knockout. Knockout encourages snowballing, the healthy way to 4k. Monstrous Shrine encourages basement camping, which the Devs have left in the game purely out of spite.
-
Not gonna happen. Dull totems have been a stupid objective to do for years that will get you and your team killed attempting to do, adding Undying won't break habits stretching back to Hag.
Especially since the killer can see you cleansing dulls with Undying and is probably a Spirit, Blight or Freddy that can pop over and ######### up your day, thus wasting the time you just spent trying to cleanse a dull totem.

I don't think the point from op is the effectiveness for the user but the impact on the victims increasing the gap from solo to swf even more.
But I feel this is already a void discussion about buffing solo to swf in hindsight to information given to the group (praise be to the almighty 5th perk known as coms -.-).
And we're not going to mention how voice chat affects basement camping?
-
Monstrous Shrine has no value unless you camp the basement, and even then it's value is so negligible that literally any other perk is better.
-
It literally wins trials just by existing and requires either extreme luck or co-ordination to disable before the killer has snowballed so much the game is unwinnable. It is extremely easy to defend generators using these two perks, and mobility killers can slap on a gen info perk and make it a complete breeze to 4k.
If that's OP, it's OP. Personally, I think so. But it's not like survivors don't also have their own small pp build, so my only hope is that the two get magnetically drawn to one another and let me have fun in peace.
-
I always cleanse agaisnt Plague and I'm always fine for pips. More fun for everyone.

Well right now it´s the other way around. No one wants to play as killer. Its a mystery on why. Since killers are "so OP".
Not a mystery. Killer's harder. Not weaker, just harder.
-
So, the game should be a miserable slog where no-one wants to play anything but killer because there's no way to win as survivor?
-
Magically do all totems in the first minute of the trial. If you're a scrub like me and can't pull off a miracle, then stack 2 to a gen and hope for the best (spreading out gives a better chance for the killer to interrupt both gens and have them regress below the 70% mark again). When the killer comes to harass you they have 2 options: camp the generator and let the other two do gens, or chase one of you off while the other finishes.
-
I get jumpscares all the time. My most memorable was this one time, as Pig on Father Campbell's Chapel, I hit a Bill and left him to run into the chapel, crouched, walked around the outside looking for someone else, and was just charging a dash to chase someone else when Bill yeeted out of the window onto my head and I died a little as my screen freaked out and did a 720 and I missed everyone.
-
Make him a 110 killer with a normal lunge. Potentially perma-stealth is very strong, but as a 105 killer with no lunge it's a little too far in the opposite direction
-
Probably Blight. His mobility is off the charts and he's damn good in a chase once you put in the time to learn him. Freddy, Billy and Pyramid Head are all decent contenders for second.

Never forget the Pigs that put on an activated trap and tunnel, or the clowns that proxy camp by throwing bottles near hooked survivors to listen for screams... so fun!
And let's never forget the killers that get handed free downs on a silver platter with sprinkles on top and still tunnel.
Those sprinkles are expensive, dammit
Edit: Also, so's silverware.

He is saying that you cannot cherry pick to use dev statistics when it fits your agenda. Either we use stats to buff or nerf killer or we don't. Freddy is getting nerf hammer just because he has high kill ratio, which is also inflated cuz large portion of survivors just die on hook against him and not even trying to survive. Sure you can use "fun factor" as reason to nerf him, but i never heard devs nerfing anything from survivor side cuz of "fun factor"
And now I'm getting blamed for other people's ######### ups. Great.

@Tsulan said:

So what is it then? Either the stats are solid and she needs a buff or the stats are rubbish. If the stats are rubbish, then why should they be used as basis to nerf the other killers?
Not sure where that second half of the reply came from
-
Let's see, high skill + strong killers... Hag, Huntress, Blight, Billy. I think that's a decent list to learn
-
Not entirely sure what mori's and facecamping have to do with one another aside from being extremely toxic to the game and genuinely being some of the biggest reasons people quit playing.
Edit: seriously, don't see a big link. It's easier to compare mori's and actual genrushing.
-
Infectious Fright works, and maybe Forced Penance. Trail of Torment and Zanshin Tactics are deactivated by both special and basic attacks. PWYF is also lost by basic and special attacks, but I believe that Plague avoids stack loss with her regular Vile Purge.

40% kill rate on red ranks is the strongest?
Yes. Yes she is. She is the killer I play to 4k with relative ease and no slowdown. Not my problem that the stats are massively skewed in all directions because of a crapload of factors that they don't take into account, such as skill floors and opponents, making them so inaccurate that the Devs themselves came out and said to not use them as fact or evidence.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1824507#Comment_1824507
Then her low kill rate should be actually accurate (unlike the pigs one) and she deservers a buff.
Wait, you want to buff the strongest killer in the game by far?
-
I only ever get the precise opposite - as killer, I close the hatch only for the animation to get interrupted as the survivor yeets out. Haven't once been interrupted as a survivor, though that could just be the rarity of being in hatch situations.
-
Not until the last two updates rolled out. And I also had to verify my files a few days ago because EAC thought I was hacking.
-
Probably the Oni, right? He's a disgraced warrior with exceptional fighting skills, and just look at his Mori animation

I used to think that before, but now I'm not so sure. She was good before, but with the way the game is played now, and the newer killers they've released, her power isn't really a threat at all. And if your fountain spawns in the corner of the map? Welp, you have no chance to use your power anymore unless they cleanse, which they likely won't because good survivors aren't afraid of being constantly injured anymore. Same deal with Myers, their powers were good, but are now outdated and aren't that effective anymore. They're still fine in your average games obviously, any killer is fine at red ranks, but I don't consider them high tier anymore.
I played a couple of Plague trials last night and the only ones I lost... Well, let's just say they took about 4 minutes for all the gens to pop and everyone was on each others friend's lists. You know the drill, split up and slam the first 3 then gather with Prove Thyself. I wouldn't have bet on me if I were playing Nurse.
Plague has a very, very slow start, but she accelerates faster than anyone but Oni. As for the fountain thing, as I said RNG holds her back.

So, to respond the original question.
No, apparently only killers want/have to adapt. Survivor mains don´t seem to want to adapt.
"Adapt" and "get forced to run specific perks" are two very different things.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1821990#Comment_1821990
Then don´t take it and count cleansed totems when you see them.
Detectives Hunch just makes finding those totems easier.
Remember, it shouldn´t be to easy, because you are permanently removing a killers perk. Imagine the killer could do the same thing.
And you've both gone wildly off topic and are pretending you can easily track totems.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1821968#Comment_1821968
The game was designed to be played alone, with a complete lack of information.
Take Detectives Hunch if you want to know how many totems are still active.
The game isn't designed to be played alone, or I wouldn't consider solo que opponents free wins. And if you want to talk about the rest... See my original comment. You shouldn't ever have to take one thing to counter a other, not in a casual game.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1821958#Comment_1821958
Well, you are not alone. There are supposed to be 3 other survivors. When everyone cleanses 1 totem and looks for another, hex perks are not a problem.
Don´t blame the killer for useless teammates.
Who said anything about useless teammates? I'm talking about a complete lack of information.

When i play solo, i see a totem, i cleanse a totem. Costs me 10 seconds and gives me 1000 bloodpoints (1500 for lit totems).
So, where is the problem?
Cleansing all 5 of them in solo que.
-
Bubba was easily my favourite rework. My favourite all-new killer was Blight, definitely. And my favourite change was... Were toolboxes this year? Wait, no, almsot forgot about Mori's. Mori's are my favourite change.

What is unfair about holding m1 for a few seconds to get a ton of points?
Like... really?
Please elaborate.
-
AFK or semi-AFK builds are ######### miserable to deal with. It's understandable that people get upset by someone refusing to play the game til they have their powerspike.
Not trying to justify anything, just giving perspective.
-
What you call adaptation I call straight-up unfair. Imagine if DS got buffed to be an 10 second stun, but Enduring worked with it again. Imagine if Unbreakable was hard-countered specifically by chainsaw killers. Imagine if Dead Hard was disabled by brown meme-addons that make your power worse for a Bloodpoint bonus. Imagine if OoO was permanently disabled by Knockout.
What are you complaining about survivor meta perks for? Just run Billy or Bubba with Enduring/Knockout and their non-instadown saw add-ons while makin sure to only ever down with an m1. Sheesh, killers. Complaining with no adaptation. Git Gud.
And let's not get into the fact that doing bones in solo que is a ######### death sentence if I've ever seen one. Doesn't matter your build, too much can go wrong completly outside of your control, to the point that it's actually better to just slam gens and hope for the best.
-
"You can get rid of both of them with relative ease."
... not how Ruin/Undying works. And judging by your next statement about Ruin/Undying you seem to assume that everyone is a co-ordinated SWF.
-
It's just to patch their wounded ego. I wouldn't worry about it too much, they just need to make you feel small because they made themselves feel bad by massively underperforming.
I hope you have a nicer day moving forward with nicer opponents than that.
-
I personally think Plague is one of the most underestimated killers in the game. It may be because I'm a former Plague main, but from my experience the only thing holding her back are robbed hits and RNG. If a good Plague gets her fountain in a centralised area? That's a recipe for an uncounterable snowball if I've ever seen one.
-
Ruin's 200% regression is what makes it ridiculously oppressive for as long as it is up. Giving other perks the same ability is an extremely bad idea bordering on buffing toolboxes to have their old charge counts while keeping the current speed boost.
-
I just hate the camping and mega slugging. The fact that Victor can down someone and zoom all the way across the map to down someone else, go back to the first person and down a third, then sit under the nearest hook while you hook them and go play M1 killer for a bit? Sure, a SWF can do something about that by just sticking in pairs, but solo's?
Edit: You know, props to all the twins that don't do that.
-
I will have to remember this one...
-
He can feel the pain of his chain. He and The Redeemer are one.
-
I find a fellow survivor and stick to them.

It's not that solo que is bad, it's just that you're good compared to them, red ranks is a hodgepodge of a lot of different skill levels. You happen to be on the upper end of that scale.
Plus I think you missed the part where I say the terrible ranking and matchmaking are a huge part of why solo que sucks.
I didn't. That's why I qualified my comment with "Right now."
-
Right now, I consider a solo lobby a free 4k. That really should tell you everything you need to know about solo que.
-
Absolutely. Right up until you're working on the generator with someone else and they won't let go.
-
Yeah, a couple of times. Nothing recent, though, and I can't remember any details. I think on one I was Pig and I kept landing moondashes along cars?
-
No. The regression speed from Ruin is ridiculously oppressive. It is the sole reason it's so damn strong. Having that be base kit? Imagine it with just a single other slowdown perk.
-
Make it so that when I equip it someone comes to my house with coffee and doughnuts.
