The key is for you to take the chase against the Legion since you know how to face him. His frenzy hits are free be cause your team gives him free hits by camping pallets and dropping it in his face every time.

Legion needs to snowball past the first frenzy but when Legions come against people who play the killer they'll have to change targets or commit to a bad chase, or even better, call their friend for help.

Sure but the problem is I have no control over my 7 other team mates, who of course choose to bunch up, repeatedly heal then all get free hit with frenzy again.

Oh and of course, it is no surprise that the combo I see is…. Legion and Oni.

Again, I cant believe they thought this was a good idea.

i mean all it did was force survivors out but not the survivor toxicity so it only solved 1/2 the problem

Well that is a psychology and maturity problem, unfortunately that is not something an in game mechanic can address in any online game.

However the same toxicity and immaturity applied on the killer side, with the bleeding out and humping for 4 minutes. So they added in game mechanics to removed the ability for immature/toxic killers to grief others.

Okay so having to push out survivors is annoying I agree, however I think it is a far lesser evil than giving killers the ability to bleed a lobby out for 4 minutes

??? you do realize that egc was made because survivors wouldn't leave until you push them out right?

this has been a problem for years also the slugging meta started because of the constant nerfs to gen regression and killers realizing that hooking survivors makes them stronger (which never was addressed the devs just decided to remove it btw)

your probably way more likely to run into toxic survivors than a toxic killer since there are more survivors

I absolutely know why the EGC was added, I was playing before it was a thing and toxic survivors did indeed hold killers hostage. Now we have the EGC, so that took care of that problem.

You can stun him out of his power if you’re patient at a pallet. If that is something you struggle with you can really mess with his FOV making him whiff.

I wouldn’t say he breaks 2v8. He’s just a boring killer to face.

I am getting up to 7k hours in this game, I know how to verse Legion.

If you are able to avoid every frenzy hit and the Legions you face fall for FOV techs (do any fall for this other than completely new players?) then you are facing really stupid or really baby Legions, or you are the best player I have ever encountered in this game.

I am not sure you're understanding the problem to be honest.

    in 2v8? Comment by MaTtRoSiTy
  • I do get the argument but killers can at least push survivors out and EGC sure is not as long as being humped on the ground for 4 minutes. Blame the killers who could not play normally and decided it was a good idea to encourage a slugging meta.

Most people aren't like this of course but it is always the small minority who ruin it for the normal majority.

2v8 makes it so much more obvious how many survivors flat out refuse to do gens. With another 2v8 round starting, pay attention to how often you see this:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/X4GVTYFYWNEH/img-4317.png

Yep, this is one reason 2v8 absolutely does my head in as an exclusively solo queue player.

Not only that but people open chests constantly over doing gens… like, what is the point in doing that if you're never going to get out anyway because nobody is doing gens?!

I did enjoy previous 2v8 versions but I think I far prefer normal matches or Chaos Shuffle

  • BHVR have obviously learned a lot in the last near decade since DBD came out.

The game has been refined and technically is in the best state it has ever been in. Of course, as with any other artistic project, the more refined it becomes the more it loses the character and soul it originally had.

So of course BHVR are far more experienced at better at what they do but they are also far more efficient at pushing you towards the store at every opportunity possible.

Why wouldn’t he be in it? They added him to the roster.

I don't follow announcements very much.

I just assumed because they added Oni and for how much Legion breaks this mode, they would have realised that perhaps adding a killer that gets cheap free hits back to back and combining them with Oni is a really bad idea?

    in 2v8? Comment by MaTtRoSiTy
  • It is… and Legion is still in it :(

Well that ruins that for me, back to normal queues I guess

    in 2v8? Comment by MaTtRoSiTy
  • I dunno, it really depends on the day for me.

I do get days where every toxic person seems to crawl out from under whatever rock they came from but I have to say most matches everyone is normal and not at all toxic.

I very rarely see threats like I used to back when I started DBD 6 years ago

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

    As killer, yes.

    As survivor, no.

I am the literal opposite, killer stressed me out too much and after years of trying to enjoy it I just cant, so I stopped playing killer almost completely.

  • I do, otherwise I would not do it.

But I do get burned out and start to not have fun and I find myself going next or rage quitting, so at that point I will stop playing altogether and take weeks/months off the game. Once I am ruining matches for others and getting tilted, it is time to walk away.

Some days can be rough though and back to back matches are awful… but then you have those few matches where the stars align and you play perfectly, the map RNG is great and your team are all high IQ gamers. Those matches (and a HUGE dose of nostalgia) keep me playing

  • I love RPD and I HATE, I mean HATE Hawkins and cursed its return lol

  • I am nearly at tier 40 but I don't think I will get this ones premium pass as I don't like flowery cosmetics or many of the survivors they are on and I don't care about killer cosmetics at all anymore.

  • I didn't have too much trouble with this and I never play like a rat, I would rather fun chases and die than to hide and rat it out for a meaningless escape. But as above, it seems the sheer number required is too high for normal people and I guess I am not the typical player. Someone who can only play a few hours every weekend is probably going to have more problem with getting 55 escapes over concerns of rat plays

  • Same thing appears to happen with Unknown too when he teleports, I just got hit by and taken to last hook by an unknown that was completely invisible

  • @Xyphus said:

Thanks for the info that the total is 55 - didn't know that. 21 more to go and finish the last milestone - starting tomorrow. Survivor is pain during weekends

Yeah I hear you, weekends can be a real mixed bag, I don't often get to play the weekends due my weird shifts

    @Hex_Ignored said:

55 escapes is no easy task for casual players, doubly so for those that only play on the weekends.

Definitely needs to be reduced to a more manageable number.

In fairness, maybe it is too much for most people, seems to be the general consensus here. I guess if enough people say it is too much then they will reduce it, I am not against that either as it just means I get there even faster I suppose. It just didn't feel that difficult for me but I guess if the hours you can play are very limited, it is probably excessive I guess.

    55 Trials?!

I am genuinely confused on how did you manage to play that much in just 5 days. It would take me a month.

Lol well my weekend is Thurs/Fri as I don't work normal shifts and I did actually play until dawn both nights. I binge then I cant stand the sight of DBD for months… then repeat the cycle

  • I feel that while I am experienced, I am nothing special at DBD and I only play solo. So if I can do it, most people can imo

    image.png
  • I personally stopped playing killer completely because it stresses me out. I tried various techniques to reduce anxiety to no avail, as the second I hit ready and enter that lobby my anxiety shoots up. My longest main killer was Nurse, who I mained from about 2019 - 2023 and in that time I obviously won a lot of matches but I rarely left them feeling good.

So I figured what is the point in gaming if you're not having fun, so I switched to 100% solo survivor and while that has its own problems, it doesn't give me any anxiety like killer did.

  • Well sometimes I don't escape for hours but even then in the last few days I think I passed the 55 escapes challenge, which would be from Wednesday if I am not mistaken. I only play solo queue too and while it is tough, it isn't impossible and I am not playing like a rat either

  • What? No, this is an absolutely terrible idea.

So many valid reasons people might leave a lobby, I do it all the time from phone calls, Amazon deliveries to I just don't like the look of my team mates (they look like a toxic SWF) or I have played with them before and know they are hopeless etc.

Penalising people for leaving a match that has not even started is absolutely crazy.

  • Well, I just cant help but come out and say it - this abandon mechanic was something that killers made necessary. Not all of course, however far too often in recent times, I was facing killers who bled me out for just under 4 minutes to hump me and mori me because they got tilted in game (I am not toxic at all btw).

EGC is an annoying thing to wait out for sure, however you can push survivors out and it still isn't as unfair as the potential to bleed an entire lobby out for 4 minutes. Something that was also becoming more common, I suspect in small part due to content creators who thought this was a great solution to their in game woes.

Well… you wanted this toxic killers, as this is what you were asking for when you decided to bleed out lobby after lobby. I find it hard to feel too bad in all honesty. Except for the decent people playing killer, as it is a nasty minority that ruined it for the majority.

  • I do wish the classic M1 killers were more frequent, they are by far the most fun to play against imo

  • Yeah I like to watch these old vids and No0b3 too, brings back the nostalgia. It is really the main thing that keeps me coming back - nostalgia is a hell of a drug lol

  • Yeah they need to kill switch this for sure, unfortunately if there is anything that can be abused you can be sure some will take full advantage

  • Some days I have rough matches back to back and it feels like I will never escape, then I will have an escape streak of a dozen or more, so it does swing either way.

I do think overall my average escape rate would be less than 50% too but I only play solo survivor

  • @DigitalisObscura said:

Instead of focusing on Botany specifically, I think they need to rework the UI a little to make perks and status effects more apparent. They could spread the survivor names out further to give space for perk and status icons to appear when they are active. Being able to review perks and status effects in the pause screen with a mouse-over the same way you currently can for your own perks would also be a great move.

Hey, the more info solo survivors can get the better so I am all for that.

Survivors have more info than ever before thankfully but I do think some status effects like Botany (which I mentioned simply because it is one perk I use frequently), would be a very helpful addition for us solo queue veterans

  • @lazerlight said:

This should be present for a lot of other perks too, like Resurgence, solidarity, for the people, wake up, Leader (i know you get notified by leader but only after you start doing an action it affects, it should be present at all times when nearby so teammates get the hint and do the actions instead of letting you do them).

Yeah I am down with all of this!

  • @R1ch4rd_N1x0n_ said:

It would be better if we could just see what perks other survivors have equipped in the pause menu…

Yeah either way I don't care, I just want team mates to be aware of Botany when its effect will be present

  • Oh thanks, I don't really follow their social media but good to see they are aware and working on it.

That is all we can ask

  • The problem will always be, you cant make people play matches they don't want to play

    @Jadelysta said:

I wish they would look into WHY theres a "Go Next Epidemic" and make changes based on that. Nobody really knows exactly what is ahead for the go next prevention, but i know player counts will suffer on the survivor side even more than they are now.

I agree, I feel like if someone really wants out of a match, you cant make them have the will and to participate in a match they just want out of ASAP.

There must be some commonality with at least some significant portion of the survivors going next. I have my own suspicions but I think if the causes are ignored, no preventative measure can stop people from not having the motivation and will to continue playing a certain match.

And still they haven't done anything about this. I still see threads being opened about this :D

Yeah still seeing that it is going on and nothing has been said yet. They must be aware at this point but who knows what is going on?!

  • I really hope they remove Legion then, as Legions ability to get cheap free hits with Frenzy is going to be downright unfair combined with Oni.

  • Yeah this has happened to me several times in the past few days and my friends who stream have been targeted too. They make your FPS drop until the only way you can get out of the game is to hard shut down.

Also, they are spamming friend requests in game with obscene names and from people who you are already friends with

it's not even people, it's AI bots just programmed to queue into the match with cheats on and usually advertise cheats in postgame chat. They are getting banned sometimes when players actually report them, but there are way too many burner accounts for those for anticheat to rely purely on player reports.

Yep and a fact that will be of no surprise to most people here, they are almost exclusively Epic accounts as the free on Epic promotion still comes back to haunt years later. I have an Epic DBD account too but I never play on it and certainly don't cheat!

But bots signed up for tens of thousands or more free accounts and they are still being sold with cheats to this day from what I can tell.

  • It isn't the same guy, unless he was also playing in Australia too lol

  • I would think that because it takes a lot of work and it is not a priority. Many maps have become very killer sided and it is okay to have some that aren't in the same way not every killer or perk has to be meta

  • Rarely, if the match was particularly memorable and the players were too

  • I think the problem really lies in the fact there are just so many killers in the game they ran out of ideas so they have to either reinvent abilities or come up with increasingly convoluted designs to make them distinct from others. This has resulted in some of the most obnoxiously unfun killers from a survivor perspective too.

As far as the complexity from a killer side, that is what bot matches are for and I have always played a few bot matches so I can at least understand powers before I go into a live match.

I do think the quarterly DLC model is unsustainable, there are already too many perks and addons in the game now and adding more every DLC is making the problem worse. It will also result in more overly complex and obnoxious killer designs too imo

Except it doesn't make the medic role useless. This was the same argument made to defend CoH/attack Sloppy, or defend Adrenaline/defend NOED, Schrodinger's perk: the survivor perk is useless because the killer perk counters it, but simultaneously it's a needed perk because it counters the killer perk. And the justification always makes more sense the other way around, the one that takes the killer POV into account. Sloppy was used to slow down ridiculously fast heals because killers injuring people, and then leaving them, no longer mattered. NOED is used to counter the newly healed Adrenaline survivors, because the gens keep getting done no matter what due to injured gen rushers.

So now I'm arguing the same, that Legion counters the medic class, not the other way around. Have you seen how fast people heal when there's no Legion in play? There's like 6 people healthy at all times. If you want to remove Legion, you'd better expect for them to make injuring easier otherwise. But I don't think it will come to that because Legion does not in fact ruin 2v8.

You can say that all you want but I very much doubt Legion will be in the next 2v8, thank god. As they ruin the whole thing and as a medic Legion does render that role redundant. I cannot heal everyone instantly as it is obviously on cooldown and Legion can immediately negate every single heal I did in a matter of seconds since they get essentially free injures.

My opinion isn't an outlier, Legion seems to be almost universally despised (I am sure there are a few who don't care) in this mode and I doubt BHVR will self sabotage the success of this mode in the future, just to include Legion again.

This guy nails it. Legion by themselves isn't all that bad. But adding another strong killer to a game where everyone is pretty much permanently injured or no gens getting done breaks it. Everything else was incredible. Sans the legion they did great with this mode. But I've moved to other games because this got old real fast. Hopefully next run of it is without them or plague

    Exactly, you get it.

Legion needs to go, for me it is the thing that completely ruined this mode and it was so disappointing as I was looking forward to 2v8 for months :(

  • Legion was my problem in this mode and I have not played it since the first day.

Legion is not OP by themselves but in 2v8 the continual free injures with frenzy are a BIG problem with a second killer in play. I also play the medic role all the time and that role is pretty much hard countered by Legion.

I almost feel bad for BHVR as the RE theme was a big potential draw but I honestly feel this was the worst 2v8 and entirely due to Legion.

  • Yep, Legion in 1v4 is fine, annoying with the mending and cheap free hits via frenzy but after that Legion has nothing and becomes an M1 killer with an irritating slowdown (mending).

In 2v8 they are a massive problem, especially if you only play medic as I do. We all know healing is mostly redundant against Legion and having a medkit in normal matches against Legion feels about as much use as having one against Plague.

Being constantly injured is a massive problem when another killer is in play and I honestly don't know what BHVR was thinking putting Legion in this mode. I stopped playing it for this main reason (they corrected the bot problem for the most part from what I hear).

  • I have not been playing DBD and I was waiting to come back for this mode… but I got a few rude surprises that have kept me away.

Firstly Legion: I play the medic role every time if I can and Legion hard counters so my entire role is effectively useless. Plus free injures are far more consequential in 2v8 where another killer is in play.

Secondly: yeah the bots too, I know killer queues are long but if people refuse to switch to surv to get a faster match… well, sucks to be them I guess.

  • Lol yep I had this too, I would not have cared and just moved on (after reporting of course) but I was shocked to find that I had a DC ban lol. The fact the anti cheat cannot detect this movement as being slightly out of the normal range of movement is staggering to me!

That being said, when I logged in the next day I got a message action was taken, so it was less than 24 hours for them to get banned which is pretty good

  • I only play survivor, so I don't have to wait long thankfully.
