Hey, I'll take it. Just had a game where I brought ruin and it WASNT found by the survivors. The fact that it self cleanses is dumb.
-
Ruin does not count

They just did not see the real issue with this perk.
Like why i would make killer run around progressing gens? My goal will be take him away from gens. 5% speed is not worth it, even 10% speed is not worth it. Because killer just can leave me and pressure on gens.
This perk is just bad and have no use. I wish they would just rework it. But instead of reworking, they nerfed it.
With the increased range, you can still be plenty out of a killer's range of being able to hear a generator being worked on. Unless the killer can SEE another survivor or you are bringing the killer WAY closer than you have to to get the perk value... it's unlikely that the killer is gonna peel off you to check on a random gen.
-
I feel like the people complaining will go quiet once they can actually try it out and realize how much of a non-issue the limit is.

@CrypticGirl said:
I really wonder how this will affect Ruin. If a Survivor keeps short repairs on it and leaves it eight times, does the regression stop even if the hex is still active?
Otherwise, I like the changes.
It only counts regression events where a 2.5% chunk is lost at once...so ruin isn't affected at all. It's also not gonna affect those 1% kicks to trigger NWTH.
-
With the exception of dedicated 3-genners, this change is a killer buff. I doubt it'll affect anyone who ISNT holding a 3 gen strat, but if it is an issue that affects normal gameplay... they can always tweak the number after PTB.

I wonder why this rule isn’t made so that it kicks in when there’s one generator left? It’s odd that it’s being implemented from the start of the match.
Probably so it affects the people it was intended to affect. Realistically, the people affected by this are going to be the people who hang around the same 3 gens the entire game whittling away at nearby pallets. Those people won't have any gen kicks left while people that DONT do that...will.
They'll probably tweek the number abit if need be.

Regression events can happen super fast. Prime example.

In about 30 seconds, nearly half of my charges would be eaten up AND if I was using any kick perks such as Nowhere To Hide, I have that many times less that I could use them.
I highly doubt a game like this one is going to last long enough for the 8 regressions to matter. You just took out the majority of the team, so they'd need some SERIOUS luck to be able to not only turn this game around but put you in a situation where you'll need to defend the gens in that area after 5 more surges.

Billy is great though I’m not sure how hard it’ll be to achieve overdrive. Currently overheat is a non factor with how hard it is to get so they might have changed the numbers
The base speed increase is crazy though meaning curving around loops will be much stronger now
It's a non factor if you're playing normal, but you can overheat on purpose pretty easy by revving. Wouldn't surprise me to see Billys do that for 20 seconds of Super Billy mode.

All of them are. At a high level only nurse and blight are viable, and maybe spirit in some cases. But one ONE of these is low tier?
- Pig
- Legion
- Demogorgon
- Deathslinger
- Pyramid Head
- Nemesis
- Knight
Pig, legion, demo, deathslinger, nemesis, knight? Arguably PH maybe is the only one there that isn't "low tier" but that is only because he can hard tunnel super effectively. If he isn't playing scummy then he is also low tier.
You also have SM since her drone can remove 1 health state

Ill take the occasional plot twist since it means I dont need to worry about losing any to endurance but will still gain them from it.
Feel like this might increase tunneling if the obsession is the unhooker. Now rather than chasing the obsession with M2 hits, ppl will ACTUALLY save them for last.

Again I feel like as a killer this goes back to my trapper thought. If the obsession wants to use plot twist to take 2 stacks away like thats their full perk except during end game. If they want to use it with a second person that is 16 seconds of time from two survivors where they are not doing gens or working on objectives in addition to the perk slot. Also I would have had to injure them at one point unless they use FTP which again is more time and perks. Like I know I am cool with it. The only time this might be a problem is end game with someone on hook but if thats the case damn they dedicated resources and respect.
Or... here me out. The completely normal use of plot twist shouldn't also hit STBFL stacks.

Please be sure to give it a try and let us know how it feels. In the meantime, I see gen spawns mentioned often, so I want to take a second to add some context behind this change and why we didn't simply adjust spawn locations instead. Moving generators further apart is a bit trickier than it seems for a couple reasons.
The short version is that it's a double edged sword. Even perfectly spaced generators can be fairly close. In order to spread generators further apart, many maps would need to be made larger. This comes with its own gameplay issues (making it take longer to cross the map, harder to find survivors, etc.) Making the map larger may help with a 3 gen scenario, but it would have a negative impact elsewhere. It gets extra tricky because Killers with extra mobility or powers that may help them defend a 3 gen can still guard those generators fairly easily even if others have a harder time.
Does perk effects like Surge count towards the 8, or is it specifically kicking?

Does your controller have messed up triggers?
It's the aim-assist, or aim-dressing as Bhvr calls it. It has a tendency of screwing up an attack that would've otherwise hit.
-
Keep in mind, that COULD be an alternate account. I myself have a Switch account, along with steam and PS5. It could also be a baby survivor/killer... but they might surprise you with game sense that surpasses what their shown gametime would otherwise indicate.
-
You won't get in trouble. The devs can detect that you didn't have anything special running.
-
I'm gonna disagree on Xeno and Nemesis' placement. Xeno feels like the easier of the 2, with both of them having similar abilities.

SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT ABLE TO PLAY KILLER DUE TO ACCESSIBILITY ISSUES OR JUST A SIMPLE DESIRE NOT TO PLAY AS THE KILLER. THESE PLAYERS ARE VALID, AND SURVIVOR COSMETICS SHOULD NOT BE LOCKED BEHIND A WALL FORCING THEM TO PLAY A ROLE THEY ARE UNCOMFORTABLE PLAYING. THAT SHOULD BE THE END OF THE STORY, AND IT IS FOR ME.
Look at the left of your keyboard, there should be a caps lock key. Cosmetics are not required to play the game, and it's perfectly acceptable for the developers to reward people for playing both roles in their game. Ultimately, the challenges are completely optional, as are the purely cosmetic and non-game altering rewards. I might be inclined to agree with you if the rewards DID provide an actual effect...but they don't.

@AbsolutGrndZer0 said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3621662#Comment_3621662
Yes, it is? I never said it wasn't. I did however say that a player should not be required to unlock and play something they have no desire to actually play. If someone has reasons they do not ever want to touch Killer, they shouldn't have survivor content locked behind killer gameplay, and that seems to be how the events are going forward.
I feel even worse for Jeff mains that have no desire or ability (due to accessibility) to play killer are being locked out of one of Jeff's cosmetics because they are not able (no matter what you think, their reasons are legitimate) to play Killer
Your not forced to unlock anything to get those cosmetics. There are characters on both sides you can play. You can argue about not having to play killer to unlock survivor cosmetics, but for most cases people would argue BHVR incentives to promote people playing both sides is a good thing.

Yesterday, I was playing Freddy on Gas Heaven and at the end of the game there was a 3 gen created by the survivors. I didn't plan on it from the start.
I don't think I did anything to deserve a punishment, which I am guessing the "3-gen solution" will be.
Depending on how they handle it, it might not affect you at all. If they do something like limit how many times you can kick any particular gen, it would only really affect ppl who've been kicking the same gens since the start of the match.

Because you need a lot of preparation to deal with Hex perks compared with the whole build the killer should bring to make them somewhat viable just for things like this to happen anyway, of course:
So yeah, bring Hex builds people, Hex are great. Perfectly designed and implemented.
That was painful to watch

If you see someone suiciding on hook, let survivors save, down that player and leave them on the floor, with the mutual understanding of letting them bleed out. Let them get crows, then report them for AFKI don't think that would really do anything.
1: If BHVR really cared about AFKs, they could handle it themselves. The game already detects AFKs, if they deeply cared about it they could just program some type of X amount crow time in Y amount of hours results in a DC penalty.
2: I don't think the AFK rule is meant to apply to situations were you cannot progress. More for players who AFK from the very beginning and do so repeatedly.
So why not a Forfeit option? There's a few things that could be done to address most of your concerns.
1: The forfeit could have conditions. The most obvious would be a time limit, but if the worry was people would just wait to that point it could be based on something in the game. Say if a survivor is killed and there are still 3+ gens to go survivors get the option to say they have no chance.
2: Spamming could be addressed by never showing what the other survivors have put in.
3: No games go to completion: this could partly be addressed by given a countdown timer of 30 seconds. So the killer can't forfeit to deprive the survivors of getting out the exit (however, the forfeit does stop the idea of survivors just hanging around the exit gates forever).
Additionally, not going to completion is not a huge deal. One of downsides of DbD is that the end game can be long and pointless. Yes, DbD has exciting ends were you are rushing to the gate with the killer on your heels (or rushing at the survivors trying to get them before the line), but also times you're just lying on the ground bleeding out.
I highly doubt DbD would give serious thought to a forfeit issue, it would mess with pips, probably MMR, and the games theme. But I don't think the problems you mention are big deals especially given that people will throw a game when its not going well already, this would just speed up the process.
I've been playing video games over 30 years, online games for 20.You young kids with your new fangled ideas and gadgets. It sounds like you didn't even have the joy of an Atari or trying to play an FPS on a 33.6 K modem. 😋
30 years ago is around when the first Playstation was released, not the Atari... 20 years ago, most ppl had decent enough internet to game off of. Heck, you had games like WoW being released.
-
Unlike old SM, the drones next to gens don't pick up everything. They don't scan stationary targets, so you can run up to a gen in-between beams and work on it. If they are using their drones on gens, this also means they don't have those drones for chases and for activating their 8 seconds of stealth.

You took away deja vu from the others, lol

It wouldn't.
Just by size and length of the legs alone, a big spider with massive legs wouldn't be able to fit through door frames or crawl through windows.
Could make it the size of Xeno. Maybe make it made of a bunch of little spiders that scurry over separately for the window vault animation.

I am not the one you quoted, but I can say based on those players I know myself, considering he's a licensed killer, probably not. They should not have to purchase the one killer that is actually usable in order to unlock survivor content.
Dude... it's completely OK to unlock something you think you'd enjoy playing. All the characters are usable, but not every character will be tailored to everyone.

I do agree, most of these are effortless and easily obtainable. There are ppl (I actually have a few friends who suffer from this) who can’t play Killer because first person makes them sick, so they only can play Survivor.
Some of the Tomes were set up with routes that promoted play on both sides to advance. That much was somewhat unfair to certain people.
But yeah, for sure, it’s important for DBD to thrive that it’s players are playing both roles.
Your friends try playing Chucky?

Clutter: It would be more. That amount of teleport locations would always be up. It's very rare other than the very start of the match for Sadako to have all of her TVs up.
She still is able to teleport to locations where gens are finished though, that's the point I'm making. The clutter you're talking about is just the same exact locations Freddy has to choose from at the start of the trial.

It's not a color issue. Talking about killer displays, all killers have the same display in that the code shows them unfinished gens. All killers have access to the same perks, so the code doesn't need to change the display whether it is a Xeno or a Bubba, so a perk like surveillance acts the same on both of them.
If Freddy had access to finished gens, then there would be need to be unique code for Freddy.
Additionally it would likely be a clutter issue for many players. Even if the ability existed most of the time the killer would want to teleport to the unfinished gens. I can imagine a situation where I want to teleport across map in a hurry and I have to waste time moving around to get the teleport past a finished gen that is in the middle.
Add to this when he was coded the idea of teleporting was new. Things like Sadako adding in her own teleport to device was probably influenced by what they learned from Freddy. When/if they rework him they may think of a better/different way to approach it.
You asked why it is the way it is, that's my guess, some combination of the above. I highly doubt its just because BHVR hates Freddy.
The clutter issue as you put it would just be the same amount as Sadako. TVs are generally in the same area as generators, and they dont self destruct when the generator finishes. As for coding... ALL killers have some unique coding. Having part of Freddy's unique coding to show finished gens as purple shouldn't be that weird.
-
Easiest answer will be Franklin's. People don't like it when they can't flashlight click ya, really ruins their fun. Also works well against medkits since wasting charges will result in them not healing themselves, even if they go fetch it.
Bonus points if you smack the item out of their hand mid pallet stun. Now they can't get their item until you break the pallet.

Yeah, but it followed the LNs so can't really complain. I feel like most people just didn't like the fact that it covered so many differ POVs. Either way though... Scary Kumoko in DBD would be cool.

I don't recall him going into stealth as being a map-wide trigger. I certainly didn't hear it.
Also, you say that as if it's not on a short cooldown lol.
His stealth activates fake footsteps around survivors, basically telling you to look around. The cooldown is 18 seconds, which is pretty punishing for a slow killer. That's a longer cooldown than Spirit's, even if she uses all her gauge. Spirit can also use hers to close the distance alot better.
-
@Pulsar said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3621101#Comment_3621101
He already has a stealth factor built into his power.
I don't think he needs both no vision and no TR.
His TR trick is on a timer and is the SAME timer as his chase ability, and announces to the entire map when hes using it. It would work out as a weaker Ghostface.
-
If by anti-tunnel system, you mean the basekit endurance... only reason I'd see of it causing more tunneling is if ppl bodyblock with it. If you won't let me hit your healthy teammate without hitting you first... I'm better off just chasing you now.
-
You kinda just listed the reason. Some perks are universally helpful, while other perks are weaker depending on the killer. The universally helpful ones are naturally gonna show higher average pick rates while the killer specific perks might show high usage for those killers, but low usage overall.
-
This is one of those things where his size is part of the balancing. He's the same speed as Spirit, but his power doesn't let him cover nearly as much distance. Would take too long to finish out a chase if he didn't have that stealth factor letting him get close.
