I said it as a reply to what you said, not a reply to the topic, that is why i quoted you and not OP.
You are aware of how quotes work right?
That ALSO makes no sense since I was talking about car loops and how BL3 shouldn't be used on them. This is another point that bringing up god pallets is random. God pallets has nothing to do with car loops, OR bloodlust 3.

What are you on about?

Yes... you said "God pallets exist :)" when the topic of the thread is "Should bloodlust be removed". Are you saying you bringing up god pallets was completely random and had nothing to do with the topic?

Again, you are turning my arguments around..
I did not use that as an argument to WHY BL should exist, i only said that "Good pallets counters BL" while i still think BL is needed for the game.
An argument to WHY i think BL should exist, was in the post you just quoted
And still there are infinite loops in the game where slow moving killers cant catch up, Autohaven Wreckers main building is a good example
So you brought up god pallets for 0 reason when asked why BL should exist... thanks... Having a pallet to reset BL does NOT mean BL should exist to begin with.
Strong windows ARE a legit reason for BL, but those have been continuously altered by adding things like doorways directly next to windows. There's only a handful of killers who's power wouldn't help them get a hit on just about every existing window loop in the game, and most of THOSE are because their power is already applied to get a down rather than just a hit (Myers, Ghostface, Plague, Legion). Every other killer would be actively using their power, therefore not gaining bloodlust. What's that leave... Pig? Maybe just tie bloodlust to Pig and remove it from every other killer.
I welcome you to screenshot a windows loop that is unplayable without bloodlust. You mentioned Autohaven, but that's a whole realm and not a map. I don't know what building you're refering to.

I never claimed that BL was a help on god pallets, you are turning my argument around..
God pallets counter BL, thats a whole other thing
And still there are infinite loops in the game where slow moving killers cant catch up, Autohaven Wreckers main building is a good example, and this is with out any pallets
You used godpallets as the reason BL should exist. That's why I was talking about them. I'm sorry for talking about the point YOU made. If we're talking about window loops...sure. Lead with that. Why bringing up god pallets at all?

That is exactly what im trying to say, and the killer looses BL by kicking it
Yes, if the killer had bloodlust... they'd lose it. Bloodlust does not help on God pallets. This is why bringing up godpallets as the reason we need bloodlust makes 0 sense. No amount of bloodlust would help you get a hit once any of these pallets are used.
Bloodlust was meant to counter overly strong WINDOW loops, which have mostly been eliminated at this point. Even THEN though, BL1 could accomplish that. A killer hitting BL3 is just someone who is getting outplayed and is too stubborn to kick the pallet. Not talking about God pallets here because... no one is looping these once they're tossed.

I dont think i understand your argument?
Chase is going on, killer gets bloodlust after 15 / 25 / 35 seconds, but in reality it takes longer to get, as often when the survivor breaks vision the chase resets.
And Bloodlust resets after the killer is forced to break a pallet, so in an optimal scenaio it takes the killer 35 seconds to get bloodlust again. so thats more than 70 seconds of chase to get bloodlust tier 3 twice. But thats on paper, in reality it takes longer. On top of that there are often chases where the game takes forever to even register it as a chase, so thats extra time added to the bloodlust chase timer.
Further more, a lot of survivors use "sprint perks" aswell, should they go aswell then?? or is it only unfair when the killers have it??
Ok, all true statements statements that have 0 to do with God pallets. Imagine THIS situation for a second. Your on Lerys chasing a survivor. The survivor throws a pallet that blocks the entire hallway, also known as a god pallet. The only way to get to the other side of the pallet is by going through a separate room which wouldn't ever catch ANY survivor unless they were blind and deaf.
Even if it were possible to keep building BL in this situation, BL 1000 is not going to let you phase through that wood. You have now stopped running though and the survivor is 100% safe so they have no reason to run except to make distance until you do the only move you have... which is to kick the pallet.

I also don't agree with their mentality. In my opinion, both sides can snowball pretty heavily and that is ok. However, when I did this post I tried to wear their shoes and adopt their way of thinking. In that way, they aim to make the survivor experience more "enjoyable", but such a feature it would do the total opposite because it would incentivize tunneling more than anything.
It would incentive SLUGGING more than anything. You can kill everyone without hooking AND the gens slow down.
-

If both sides wanted to win and were on comms, it was more balanced than 1v4 at least.
WWith the people I queued up with, I saw a lot of "wow double teaming this is so lame" but for me that was where the magic happened. Looping a killer tag team meant that you had generators uncontested for 7 survivors by sheer efficiency that should just be the position survivors would WANT to be in.
Not saying it's easy, especially when you get pincered at a pallet by a Wraith and Billy but when you did it was legendary.
I find survivors just didn't....grasp the game mode? Like, you know in advance that every killer has Nowhere to Hide, so why heal an unhook survivor near a Generator? Little things like that.
The amount of survivors that would hide behind a tree, WATCH me kick a gen and not immediately start running...

People can move from loop to loop, you know? - And even from a loop to a god pallet
And as soon as said God pallet is thrown, you either break it or the chase ends. There's no time in that scenario where bloodlust gets built. That's why mentioning God pallets as a reason for bloodlust makes 0 sense. You can't build bloodlust after a godpallet is thrown.

What exactly do you think should happen at that loop if you don't want to leave it but also don't want to get hit?
Without a chase power or bloodlust, there is no mindgaming this loop because you have full visibility, so a survivor with sufficiently fast reflexes is just going to instantly mirror your movements and keep themselves on the opposite side of the loop the entire time.
How is this not asking for infinites?
Unsafe pallets are supposed to exist. You're supposed to use them to chain other loops and to have a resource to stun the killer with. Not run around it a thousand times while 5 gens pop.
Were still talking about the car loops, right? It's perfectly possible to get a hit WITHOUT bloodlust on those loops, and if you arnt confident... kick the pallet and move on. The idea of a killer completely removing counterplay in exchange for a fixed amount of time is why original Legion was hated. It's not that its too strong, but that the survivor skill isn't allowed to be expressed.
These middle ground pallet loops where it's neither a guaranteed hit unless you can get a stun or 100% safe is ideally what the game should have more of. Those getting screwed over by a mechanic meant to bandaid fix window loops that were too strong and have mostly been changed already... is not were we should be.

God Pallets have no place in any discussions about Bloodlust, since God Pallets need to be kicked. Very poor argument.
You can't even BUILD BL at those pallets since it would involve chasing a survivor around them.

god pallets exist :)
Yes, which are called such because someone like Freddy who can't hit over a pallet has to break them. Even at BL37, that pallet is getting kicked. That's not a reason for BL spoiling every other pallet that is perfectly playable. A Killer BLing the 2 car pallets outside the preschool shouldn't be a thing.

Only if the survivor play poorly as well, as any pallet the killer is forced to break, removes the bloodlust effect.
The killer refusing to break a pallet has nothing to do with survivor gameplay. If a survivor is at a simple car loop, it feels bad being caught because the killer was stubborn. Loops that can be played by both sides become increasingly unsafe depending solely off killer stubbornness until they're BL3.

I don't think it would be an issue nescesarily, but they have made it clear they want this to be a fast paced game mode. Hag and Doctor or not that. It makes sense that killers like Blight and Spirit would make it in before Hag or Doctor.
Can you explain that one? Please remember Trapper is one of the options for 2v8.

Just predrop pallets against Nurse and ran TOWARD blight while he's using his power... Maybe that's the other way around... GOODLUCK, lol

Was expecting to hear about how refusing to leave prevents the hatch from spawning. If the killer is chasing someone and you have 0 intention of taking a bodyblock or anything... THAT is truly screwing over your teammate.
-
@TragicSolitude said:
Yup, have had this happen a bunch recently. Specifically the hatch thing, since there's no timer forcing them out they will absolutely wait there even if the killer has stopped at 3 kills and gone AFK they will wait and wait and wait… C'mon man, I just wanna see the killer's perks. The killer really does not care about someone getting the hatch, it's just annoying for everyone who wants the match to end, killer and waiting teammates alike.
In 2v8 I saw a cloaked Wraith close a hatch under one of those teabagging survivors, securing the kill. I loved that.
I actually did just that as a cloaked Wraith in 2v8.

They gave him a bit of a rework that makes him easier to play/more accessible and EMPs/Printers were nerfed in the rework so that they wouldn't be nearly as oppressive as they was before due to how abundant they were so survivors just never bother with EMPs anymore since they're too lazy to finish the last 10% progress on a Printer for their EMPs.
Wouldn't say survivors don't bother with EMPs, they just can't grab one from a printer mid chase.

Yeah there are definitely some good hiding spots, but I would say a vast majority of the spawns are not great to downright terrible (e.g. the ones that spawn right next to gens). Seems there could be some easy fixes to at least prevent totems from spawning close to generators or way out in the open away from any walls/obstacles.
I'd at least not make this visible from the gen. The totem in the picture for example is only visible from one side. Can do similar sight blockers so someone on a gen can't see it.
-
@ObsidianButterfly said:
I feel like 75% of the problems with Hex perks could be solved if they weren't active right away and killers could choose which Dull totem becomes the Hex totem during the match. All Dull totems are highlighted to the killer until they active the Hex on one. Also allows some additional strategy as to when to use it.
It's not a perfect solution, but it would help deal with the problem of hexes spawning in right next to survivors or in really bad spots, effectively making the Killer run with only 3 perks.
That works if your playing Wraith and can quickly pick one while invisible. Doesn't work so great on Clown when the survivors just watch you go to a random spot with no gens for seemingly no reason.

If the perks were not effective, they would not be considered "best builds." Besides, you cannot tell me with a straight face that running corrupt + pain res on any killer doesn't yield results.
We can debate perk strength all day long, my point stands. You didn't get an average perk usage, you got a list of 1 person's usual perks used. That doesnt mean all other perks that they didn't use sucks, just that he does what MOST people do and tends to have person favorites. Personally, I have corrupt and pain rez on exactly 0 of my builds. I do like to use surge and gearhead though. This doesn't mean pain rez and corrupt are garbage just because 1 person doesn't use them. It just shows personal preference.
-
You got 1 persons opinion on what the best builds were and noticed they use the same perks alot for each build... Did it not occur to you that was going to happen? My own builds ALSO use alot of the same perks from each other. That's going to be the case with most people.

What?!! Unbelievable, BHVR has "UNSPORTSMANLIKE" in their report categories after every single match, but truly they prevent people from reporting tunneling or camping or hooking (source: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/139-game-rules), so why were you being warned like that?!! Hope your account is still safe, sorry to hear that.
Despite having collected surveys from players many times, despite having millions of comments mentioning these UNSPORTSMANLIKE issues, it seems that BHVR has been ignoring them for many years, which is why their ratings are dropping on Steam, and their new games are not well-received by the community because the community has lost faith.
Oh, I have 0 worry that a message from a salty survivor will result in a ban, lol.

if I remember correctly though at the end the Great Child and the Dire Mother (I think this was her title?) were the only ghosts who did not attempt to kill the man who trapped them. Maybe the child ghost with the arrow in his head and the dead wife weren’t there either, though.
Alot of the Ghosts didn't have much action in the movie and were just there to look intimidating. The Great Child though DID massacre the various members of the freak show him and his mother were apart of BEFORE he died. Seeing him sprinting with an Ax would be neat.

We can dismiss the idea that 110%= good killer. I'm fairly sure old Trickster was never considered top tier either (not that he's top tier NOW).

Yea IK the company has done that to OTHER people but that isn't Homelander. Were talking specifically about Homelander and Wesker.
Also Butcher in the comics, turns out to be the omega villain (which I think the show is leaning towards in the final season). By the end, Butcher has Kimiko, Frenchie and Mother's Milk killed. The only one he spares is Hughie, and Homelander is long dead by this point (thanks to Black Noir). If anything, I'd argue Butcher as fitting a lot more into DbD since he literally lets the parasite/worm in him (on the show) take over essentially and you can see his humanity is near gone (where as its completely gone in the comics by the end-game). But we aren't there yet in the story so a lot of people do and will believe (at least till then) that Homelander is the big bad.
Cmon man, Teddy Bear is a cosmetic that only came out last year. I'm talking about the character, the backstory/personality, the powers they have, etc.. not a cute comedic cosmetic that just came out not too long ago. As for Trickster, a lot of people criticized him as well at launch, whether it was for his throwing knives or the color scheme being too vibrant. It wasn't like Trickster came out and everyone only had nice things to say.
IDK man, I just don't see him fitting in. How is he going to chase people? Just like every other killer, when he can fly at near supersonic speed? A pallet's going to stop him? It just …seems odd and silly.
There's so many better choices to pick from IMO.
A pallet is going to stop him the same way a pallet stops every other killer in the game. The entity nerfs killers to make things "fair". You arnt arguing that Freddy couldn't possibly be in the realm when he can do THIS...
https://youtu.be/XWPq9Hb81aM?si=8gtfmgbv_xZgxIZkNo one is arguing over how Dwight would die from Freddy twitching his finger and being tossed across the map to land on a hook.
Sadako also fits in just fine even though most matches last 10-15 minutes rather than 7 days. The entity tweeks the rules to make a killer and their power set fit.

While Wesker started as a human character, his actions and transformations throughout the series blur the lines between humanity and monstrosity. He can no longer be considered fully human, as his physical and biological makeup have been significantly altered by the Uroboros virus and his own experiments. His humanity is compromised, and he exists in a gray area between human and monster.
Show me a scene from either the comics or the show with Homelander using these 'tentacles'. Oh wait..
Homelander is like someone else stated, just an insecure egocentric bully who happens to fly. An evil superman w/ dumbed down powers (Superman would kick his butt). He's already in MK, he fits into a fighting game much more than a 'horror' genre like this.
And Trickster is an OG killer, its a lot harder to criticize a character w/ no base to draw from (and even then, he was criticized quite a bit @ launch).
I never said Homelander himself had tentacles, just that the shady company that made the pharmaceuticals resulted in MANY different transformations...including tentacles.
DBD has characters from basically ALL range of the killer spectrum. How can you say that Homelander doesn't fit, but a murderous Teddy bear and a K-pop idol fit just fine?
