  • Skill issue. If killers can't win a game after 6.1 then that is on you. The killers I see in games have no trouble winning and it shows in the stats too. I do enjoy seeing killers crying about SWFs on the forums though.

Use the broken over powered S and A tier killers since they can go on 50+ win streaks so often. You all have it easy enough already! Guess survivors should just start out on hooks, stay injured permanently, and also have their auras revealed the whole game too right?

  • It will literally say "Treat" in the top right corner instead of just the basic "Haste" when you get one. I imagine it probably helps your chances of finding one if you work on some objectives too instead of just running around smashing every pumpkin you see. No offense, just a theory I have.

Also try logging back in from the main menu. Sometimes the game glitches, like with the incentive bonuses for each side being hidden sometimes after a game.

Usually high prestige level survivors are at least decent teammates but once I had P100 steve turning my 5 gen chase to lose. I went down when last gen was 90% done and steve and other came to take hits for me when the hook was right in front of me. I got hooked and they went down soon after. Last one was my friend tried to fix the gen but was grapped when it was 99,9% done...

People for sure make mistakes every now and then no matter how experienced they are. It is especially frustrating to see teammates you know have experience playing DbD to throw the game or hook suicide after a play didn't work out like they planned. Sadly it happens on most MMR ranges for various personal reasons though, I agree.

But if people want to balance Nurse around the top 1% or less of her players why can't we balance survivors around the same benchmarks?

That's why I'm against nerfs (not to be confused with tweaking and other minor changes) to Nurse and SWFs and call for buffs to solos. The 'god tier Nurse' is not typical but a very rare exception. Teams of survivors like the Hardcore Survivor team are an exception. Neither of them should be used for balancing purposes.

What should be used is how each side actually plays out in the majority of instances. Nurse doesn't need changes; if she did then her kill rates wouldn't be so normal for so much of the MMR. SWFs don't need changes; with the exception of groups like Hens or the hardcore survivor teams the escape rates are not crazy good. Solo does have a discrepancy between solos and SWFs so it needs buffs.

If we're going to call for changes based on the very top level for Nurse why can't we say the same for survivor? If we did that, both Nurse and survivors would get nerfed and solo shouldnt get buffs. That would make the game unplayable for a large portion of the player base and would only work if the game were a spectator sport meant to be played by the very best in the field. It's not; it's meant to be a game where everyone participates and should consider everyone.

Nerfing Nurse or survivors due to the top tier SWFs would not be fair to the vast majority of players. But if people are going to call for nerfs due to the top 1% or less of players in that role it should apply across the board. Doing so, however, would be unfair to 99% of the playerbase.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying but even players with a lot of experience on both sides all say the same thing. That Nurse is broken and they prefer not to use her with the strongest possible perks and add-ons because it's far too easy to absolutely crush average players in pub games once you learn how to play her and it feels disgusting and unfair.

The only people defending Nurse not being broken are the killer players that use her a lot because they can abuse her power for easy win streaks against average survivor teams and don't want to lose that dominance factor.

I agree that SWFs are also a big problem. Icons on portraits won't be enough to put solos on par with SWF comms though. Icons can't tell you the killer's location and where they are going. Icons can't tell you what gen is at what percent complete and if it's safe to go finish that gen or not. Icons can't call out the killer's perks and habits that they are showing.

It's all kind of a lose/lose situation with solo queue unless they add voice chat. Voice chat wouldn't really help either because then people will still rage and say the most vile things to each other to harass players even more than they already do right now.

That's probably why they have been dragging their feet on fixing the solo issue. They just don't know how to buff it to SWF comms level without making a bunch of perks basekit.

How many actual god nurses that down everyone within 60 seconds are out there?

People claim to face god nurses all the time. Despite the fact that her kill rate is no where exceptional. If there were really so many out there, then it would show on the stats.

Now on regard of the SWF teams with tens of thousands of hours under their belt. No one has an actual number, BUT there are enough out there that their escape rate is reflected in the stats. The 15% higher escape rate might not sound like a lot. But that percentage more than the difference between a top 5% nurse kill rate and a normal nurse kill rate.

Good job using the stats the Devs said "Don't use these for arguments because they don't tell the whole story." I've personally seen the same Nurse prestige 82 twice that was afk the entire time both games until the gens were done and then they opened the gate and went afk again until the EGC ran out. They probably did that every game for days!

People are intentionally messing with her stats so she doesn't get nerfed.

And again with more of your stats. I never said normal SWFs couldn't escape a lot. You asked why Otz and Dowsey's hardcore survivor SWF wasn't a normal swf and I gave you an answer. Not very many teams have that much combined time in the game or they would be in tournaments and more well known.

"Killers are strong enough to deal with swf"

You should really sit down and watch Dowsey, Otz and their team play hardcore survivor.

A team of streamers that play DbD for a living with around 30,000-40,000 hours of combined experience is not a normal swf by any means.

  • The way you worded your title and your initial post was pretty confusing. Sure hook suicides are annoying but so is broken matchmaking that pairs you with a killer that is clearly more experienced than you and your team that also use disgusting OP builds and strategies to win.

Sometimes people just need to end the trial early for whatever reason or are not enjoying it and not having fun. It's going to keep happening and raging about it on the forums isn't going to make them magically stop doing it.

  • @hex_uwu said:

Prestige means nothing in terms of matchmaking. It literally just means they put all their eggs in one basket and potentially have no life outside of dbd (I wish I understood the p100 brag).

Guess you missed the whole part where I said it doesn't always translate to skill but it definitely does show how much time a player has put in the game.

Sorry if you're new and took offense to my comment.

  • Matchmaking can be very strange at times. I just dodge lobbies with teammates that are prestige 6 or lower to avoid bad games. Next lobby I get usually has higher prestiges or I just repeat the process until I find one that does.

Prestige levels don't always directly translate to skill and knowledge of game mechanics but from what I've seen in my games, it's a good enough indicator of a teammate's experience level before entering the actual trial.

  • I've done that before too playing Survivor when a chill, funny killer tries to let me go. If they won fairly and also were chill, I'll resist their attempts to let me go. Sometimes I'll wiggle off and point at them and point at the hatch until they close it.

Nothing more funny than a killer that keeps trying to let me go and me just running back into the map to sacrifice myself for them. A lot of Survivors know what it's like to play Killer and some of us don't take advantage or BM killers when they are struggling.

Can be so much fun when both sides are chill and just want to have some laughs together!

    I think that

    1. Nurse blink attacks should be M2 attacks - > fixes Exposed combos as well as continuous use of perks like Sloppy Butcher or Jolt. They are not necessary on Nurse.

    2. Removing range and cooldown reduction addons (anti fatigue is fine I think)

    would be enough.

Removing her ability to go through walls would just destroy her (that's why the 3 blink addon was so bad). And the 1 blink addon which increases her speed to 105% is also quite bad tbh.

Those two things sound like a good start. Any potential nerf is better than just leaving her how she is now.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3236284#Comment_3236284

I don't know if your suggestion for Nurse would work. Imagine her on The Game, Midwich or RPD (and maybe Springwood). That would be a nightmare for her with her slow speed.

For Blight they just need to fix his op addons (mainly C33 and Alc Ring, speed is barely OK though). And Hug Tech is said to be a bug and will get fixed.

For Wesker, he's OK besides some of the things you said. But even then PH can also easily tunnel and Nurse can also abuse exposed + aura. And the best killer for TR based builds besides Wesker is Doc. So basically there is no problem with that.

Maybe if they removed Nurse's ability to blink through floors on multi leveled maps and through pallet loops but left her ability to go through walls and also gave her a boost to her movement speed then? Kind of like a similar but almost reverse Wesker power?

Or just increasing her cool down between blinks? Or only being able to blink once but she got a movement speed increase to compensate?

I'm just spit balling ideas here but she is just too broken how she is right now being able to ignore every obstacle and have a massive lunge attack coming out of her blinks too.

  • Beautiful moment, thanks for sharing it! The tribalistic nature of this game sometimes leads to unwarranted aggression and anger at the opposing side. Most players just want to have a fun, competitive experience when they are trying their best.

Unfortunately the players that are lacking empathy, respect, and good sportsmanship tend to ruin the fun for other players in their goal to win. Learning to win and to lose with grace is a difficult but rewarding journey.

  • I feel split on this issue. On one side, I agree that knowing everyone's numbers would cause some players to trash talk others and brag about their own numbers, like they already do with their assumptions on these forums and in streams.

But it would also be nice to be able to actually call out BHVR for such a loose matchmaking system with actual proof too.

Some people just have no empathy or respect for people just trying to learn and get better at things. As long as someone is trying their best to help out the team and not just trolling players and throwing everyone else under the bus to save their own skin, I'm ok with them not being on my exact skill level in my trials.

  • Are you surprised? People don't like playing video games to be on the side that loses more often than wins. Survivor mains are tired of not being able to play in a fair contest because of BHVR's handicaps to make it easier for Killers to win.

Until Survivors get actual useful buffs, better perks, better matchmaking, and QoL changes you can expect this to be the norm.

  • They are still out there playing, just not all day anymore as they are, understandably, probably burnt out on the game a bit. Also there are constant waves of new players coming in from watching DbD Streamers.

I watch a lot of Streamers and always see people asking them in their chats.

"What game is this!? This looks like fun!" or typical new player questions about perks, strategies, and the characters.

I'd say it probably depends mostly on what time/desire the veterans have available to play while also dealing with work/family/friends/life. I still see really high prestige players in my games every now and then. I see their plays in-game so I know they are legit too.

Based off what I've seen, I'm guessing you are just going through an unlucky match making spell or are just not playing at the same time they are playing.

  • Nurse's power has always been a major problem since they removed infinite loops. She should not still be able to blink between floors and through every defensive obstacle anymore.

Only issues I have with Blight are his OP add ons (c33, alc ring, double speed combo) and also the hug tech that lets him quickly slide around corners while sticking to walls at the same time.

I think Wesker is ok aside from players abusing his power and terror radius by tunneling and using exposed perks + aura combos. (Using his power to get multiple Devour stacks quickly and coming right back to tunnel unhooked survivors and repeating the process. Starstruck + aura reading combos)

  • @Gandor said:

Agreed. And yet there are killers that just do that (same as there are survivors that hide and don't do objectives)

100% I can't stand killers that just HAVE to slug for the 4k! I'm ok with Aura reading for a few seconds every so often but only if the killer actually puts the downed survivor on a hook first!

  • I came here to make this exact post too. Thanks for being a step ahead of me!

I too am afraid that they will just killswitch them and leave them in our inventories without compensating us for the BPs we were forced to spend on them.

  • Slugging is an unacceptable tactic, especially if it's happening all game long or for a 4k. Killer players don't seem to get that for whatever reason. Slugged players can't do anything or play the game!!!

How about a DS strike that disabled you, as the killer, for the rest of the game and there was nothing you could do about it unless you happened to have the 1 perk that unstunned you once per trial after 30 seconds? Does that sound fair?

  • That's fine if you find it interesting. Myself and others that can actually see what this person is really doing with these posts and with the forums in general are just annoyed by it.

No need to tag me in this thread anymore. It's been going on way longer than it ever should have. Have fun with the reading and enjoy the show.

I wish I were, this would be much more amusing. You've wasted enough of my time with this thread. Enter some tournaments, or stream to back up your statements of 99% wins against everyone that plays DbD.

Until you provide some proof people won't believe you. Even if it's true, what's your point here? That killers are OP and should be nerfed since it's too easy for them to win?

There are no prizes in this game for being in the top 1% of pub games. Congrats on being good, pat yourself on the back champ.

If you took the time to read through OP's response posts you would see this is trolling. I would love to see the match too if they would actually do it but conveniently OP has many excuses to not back up the statements made.

This dude made this exact same thread about this same subject/bait a few days ago. Only that one was much more obvious with the trolling and trying to make people angry. Look at other previous posts of theirs in other threads and see the pattern.

I think the OP would be better off figuring out why so much of their ego is tied up in a form of recreation that costs money and whose only benefit is personal entertainment instead of something that actually provides a tangible benefit in their life. There's nothing wrong in being proud of one's skill in a form of entertainment but you have to keep in mind that's all it is.

Agreed. Truly good players don't need to brag and make outrageous claims without proof to back it up. This is the 2nd time they have made this same post to troll people for attention. That's what this is. They just want attention from the forum users.

I was just giving the idea that if what they say is true, that they should play in tournaments sometime. Maybe make some money from their time investment while also having a way to back up these claims. They won't do that though because they are just trolling for attention.

  • Not even close bro, it's mildly entertaining at best and just plain sad that you think I'm mad about anything you are saying πŸ˜‚

  • Here we go again.. I'd love to watch you face a good squad just to see you humiliated and have to eat your own words in front of everyone. Maybe you could learn to be a bit more humble from it too.

It's just sad that you think this is cool or tough or whatever it is you're trying to do here. Even if what you're saying is true, who cares?

Congrats on being good at a video game that your opponents play just for fun and not making any money from it. Brilliant πŸ‘

  • People love to assume that everyone playing Solo Survivor is bad at the game. Most people are just not as good at this game as they think they are regardless if they are playing killer, swfing, or playing solo.

I play mostly Solo Survivor and I can do well just by using Kindred. SWF is extremely overrated and usually comms are just super annoying and distracting anyway.

Yes, and I do those challenges without having to try to psych out the killer. In fact, I do them without a flashlight at all. Think on that one.

Think on how you just tried to defend DCing because someone switched an item last second. You should probably just take a break for a while.

  • @AbsolutGrndZer0 said:

The one time I will DC is when survivors do that swap to a flashlight at 6 seconds to try to throw one over on me. I run Franklin's. I always run Franklin's lately. But when you do that last second swap so the killer can't change their perks even with the new quick and easy changing they have now with 3 different builds, that's a big red flag as to the type of player you are and what you're here to do, and you can go do it to someone else, not me.

You do realise there are Tome challenges for blinding the killer too right? If you don't swap to a flashlight at the last second the killer will just put on Lightborn or Franklin's and make those challenges impossible to do. Not everyone with a Flashlight is out to make your games miserable.

  • Too many people take this game way too seriously! I agree, some more emotes would be fun.

  • I have an unhealthy crush on Kate for sure but it would be way more interesting to see this same kind of thread about the Killers. πŸ˜‚

Yeah, it's definitely only killers doing this. I had two games tonight on Garden of Joy/Fractured Cowshed where I got 3 hooks and 0k/1k and no one seemed to care about my fun. Gens were done in 5 minutes

I've played for 6 hours last night/today and had 4 killers DC because two gens got done faster than they wanted. It's not just survivors DCing.

The Survivor DC's I've seen in my games were mostly because the killer went out of their way to target one player early before any gens could be completed and had a disgusting tryhard build on too.

As soon as someone gets off the hook the killer runs straight back to the injured person and doesn't let them heal or let them put void energy into the rifts either. Survivors are tired of being punching bags for the entertainment of tryhard killers ever since 6.1 and with no penalty they don't have to suffer through it if they don't want to anymore.

  • Pretty easy to understand why. Killers are not letting anyone have fun and feel entitled to curbstomp the 4 survivor players and get 4ks every single game. Try taking your foot off the gas pedal and having fun instead of tunneling and camping with OP builds.

  • It is pretty bad sportsmanship honestly. I play mostly Survivor and I have t-bagged before if the killer was grieving myself or others but it's usually just not worth it honestly.

Lately I've been giving my item to the killer at the exit if I think they played well or played fairly. I usually just bring in a brown or yellow item anyway.

Just wait till day 3 when nearly everyone has all their cosmetics and the game will revert back to its old self ^^

But I am really enjoying myself so far and like it. But one thing:

BHVR, pleeeeese! From next event on give us a simple page where we see all the rewards of the event summarized and what ever item we already optained lit up. Gosh, I hate to click through all my characters just the check if they got something new.

That's a valid point. I agree with the unlocked cosmetics being on a page so it's easier to track which ones you have! So annoying scrolling through every character to figure it out! Lol

  • This event is interesting sure but flat out terrible for teamwork. They have now made the game a selfish race to these voids. People get left to hang or die on hooks while everyone slams gens to get points or run around trying to get to a void before they are downed and camped to death

  • @Jago said:

Bold of you to think there is an MMR system.

πŸ˜‚ I often wonder if there really is one too based off what I experience in my games as well.

  • For the people not understanding my point. There needs to be something to account for individual plays that contribute to the overall success of the team. Like how the emblems work..

Basing MMR off of your own personal escapes or being killed has way too many variables involved to properly match players together and rewards selfish or toxic play. Like sandbagging or selling survivors out to the killer for the hatch or the gate.

It's all pointless anyway as this current matchmaking system obviously sucks. Players who have thousands of hours more experience get paired with people that have way less experience than them. Creating the lopsided mess we have currently.

Experienced survivors get paired up with new players that drag them down or get a new killer player that doesn't fully understand how to play killer. On the other side, killers with thousands of hours on their A or S tier killers face survivors with way less experience than them and get slaughtered. Something needs to be done about it.

Maybe have matchmaking based off hours played in the game instead? Or base MMR gains/losses off of emblems gained in the match?

A lot of team plays in a match directly influence whether or not you or your teammates escape or die and should be rewarded if you have to make the sacrifice so someone else can escape. As of right now there is no benefit to save someone else when the gens are completed.

  • @foodie said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3227083#Comment_3227083

Most play in SWF and those same SWF groups will have no trouble leaving the solo player instead of helping when they're able to. SWF don't show team play to anyone else other than their buddies. There are exceptions to this, but if you're a solo player and you can leave, you leave.

If you think you can save without going down yourself, ok, but otherwise, it's best to leave.

You have a very valid point too. Sometimes being too altruistic can turn a 1k or a 2k into a 4k pretty easily. All depends on the situation I suppose.

  • πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Thank you for sharing that! I'm laughing so hard even though I'm dying inside because it's probably way too true.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Team based MMR should be a major priority. This game needs to push survivors into working as a team, instead of rewarding them for playing selfishly.

This is more important than giving solo q buffs, because selfish players would just use the solo q buffs to play more selfishly.

    Exactly! You get it πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘

  • Honestly the situation isn't much different right now playing in the mid or high MMR.

I've been playing in pub trials with really high prestige players on my team that clearly have a lot of hours playing the game and they are so entitled. They feel they don't have to work on gens because "It's boring"

  • As a Solo Q main, things like the stories you all have shared have happened to me so often that I can't even list just one.

One thing that really makes me mad though is when the killer slugs the other remaining survivor and tries to find me and can't. Then gets the slug to rat on me and they both BM me.

What kind of idiot goes exactly where the killer set the bait? Also what kind of idiot blames the last survivor for not picking them up when they are the bait, instead of being mad at the killer for slugging them for the 4k and not hooking them?

  • Thank you for real! I needed a good laugh today πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

  • @foodie said:

    if you're solo, play selfishy

While I agree with you that situation is annoying. If everyone only plays selfishly all the time the escape rate will be even lower than it is right now.

Too many people already play selfishly instead of playing smart as a team. It's pretty mind blowing how there are so many people playing DbD that don't understand some basic strategy or the game.

It really shows in the stats too.
