  • Matchmaking has always been trash in this game and probably always will be. They make the game ridiculously difficult for new players so they don't stick around. They also deliberately try to inflate kill rates so they can be around 60%..

Everyone's obsession with SWF doesn't help either. For every good or even decent SWF group playing together is that many less Survivors for the Solo Queue talent pool as well.

  • Because it's "Us" against "Them" and it's just not fair! And blah, blah, blee, blue! Other people make me sad..

  • @[Deleted User] said:

It feels like BHVR does it by design regarding solo queue matchmaking. There is almost always one player who is significantly worse than the other 3 players. It stops feeling like a random quirk of matchmaking when most losses are the result of one player being significantly worse than their teammates. It makes outcomes feel contrived and frustrating.

This is what it feels like to me as well. I've noticed the matchmaking will usually pair me with at least 1 or 2 low prestige survivors and 1 survivor like me with a high or mid tier prestige.

Most likely this is by design to keep the kill rates where BHVR wants them to be because they know 4 good solo players can perform just as well as a good SWF with no comms needed.

  • It also helps to constantly report all his content on whatever platform he posts to. Don't watch it, just keep reporting it. After the platform gets so many reports about the hacking and hate speech/harassment they will shut down the videos/streams.

Honestly it's just sad that person gets any views at all. Granted most of them probably come from bots anyway. Imagine being so lonely and desperate for attention that you would make such "content".

  • Another fine example of the trash matchmaking system at work

  • Same problem for me on Xbox Series S too. Error code 502..

The lobbies are fine, it shows the offerings, the game loading bar fills up and then it crashes right before the trial is supposed to start.

Have the killer be Charles Lee Ray "The Lakeshore Strangler"

He can transfer his soul into random Good Guy Dolls scattered throughout the map.

I like that idea. Or maybe if he downs you as the Good Guy doll he can swap bodies with Survivors and make them be the doll for some random amount of time?

Lots of fun memes and pranks to be had there! You wouldn't know right away if the doll approaching you was Chucky or a temporarily trapped Survivor.

Yeah I was considering doing that. Disabling chat, but I thought we had a nice casual match, and wanted to say gg to them, and then they just started talking smack to me. I just ended up saying glhf, but I guess this ain't the type of game where you can just say gg if one side loses.

Your heart is in the right place. There are still Killer and survivor players out there that have fun with each other and are nice about it but it's kind of rare these days honestly.

I disabled chat long ago but if you do and have a nice match with someone you can always send them a friend request in DbD too. Odds are they will accept it if they had fun too.

  • People will say anything to get under your skin, especially if you outplay them a couple of times. I play on Xbox so I rarely play killer on public games because the controls feel clunky and slow.

I say play whatever you want to play and just disable chatting. People rarely message you nice things in DbD anyway.

You can also try out killers with bots in custom games to find your desired play style. Give the bots builds you normally see Survivors using in public games and play a few warm up custom games before going back to public games.

  • I used to feel this way after the 6.1 update. I have around 1850 hours in DbD, 90% of that time has been spent playing only Solo Q Survivor. Sure, I've experienced plenty of bad trials but also had plenty of fun or really close ones too.

I recently started keeping track of the results of my trials just out of curiosity. In my past 37 games I have escaped 62% of the time.(23/37)

That is all purely Solo Survivor. A few games I got teammates with poor coordination but overall I had pretty good teammates that tried their best. A few games I saved or helped someone early on in the trial and they sacrificed themselves end game for me to escape.

There are good Solo players out there. Just keep practicing, trying your best, and being helpful to the team when you can and your teammates will eventually start to notice it.

This is the truth. I am pretty good in chase but sometimes I can waste just as much if not more of the killer's time if I can hide effectively and have them continue searching because they know I'm nearby.

Exactly! Or better yet, you waste some of their time with the searching and then also get their attention and start a chase too. Very efficient for gaining the maximum amount of time possible for your teammates to work on other gens.

  • Stealth as a Survivor is generally pretty fun and tense at times. It's incredibly underrated these days and is also where new players will naturally start their learning progression.

Stealth is just another tool/skill in the Survivor Toolbox. When used correctly in certain key moments, it can positively effect the outcome of the trial. If not used properly or at the correct time, you just lose overall gen pressure.

I still occasionally enjoy Stealthing around and I have 1800 hours. I find it hilarious watching Killers searching lockers while I'm really in a nearby bush or behind a wall.

I can also see the Predator angle. What's not discussed a lot though is this: everyone says the skull merchants power is clunky and weak, so if she were replaced with the predator, wouldn't peeps hate on him, too?

I agree that it's supposed to be Predator. I even requested them on that survey about licenses too. I would have been a lot happier just seeing the iconic Predator cloaking and uncloaking even if it is just like Wraith.

What we got just feels kind of forced, awkward, and a little too safe visually. The drones could use some more polish too.. I wish they could be controlled manually in First Person view. Maybe smash into Survivors and deal a single health State hit? Just something a little more interactive maybe?

  • If you are going to camp, tunnel, bring annoying or overpowered builds, and play a OP killer in a obnoxious way then don't queue up. See how easy that solves the problem?

  • And why do people play killer more often than survivor now? Why is the incentive almost always on Survivor? Or why do people feel the need to only play "Survivor with their friends?" It's not a difficult conclusion, playing Survivor is not very fun most of the time and is mostly extremely boring and tedious.

  • No really!? You need 4 survivors for 1 killer!? Wow thanks, who would have guessed!? Maybe ask yourselves why there are not enough survivors or why you don't play it more often..

Lol. A 4 game streak is hardly indicative of the game's health. Play 400 games and you can draw some conclusions.

I play Survivor 90% of the time and can 4k with a low tier killer multiple times in a row against people with more experience than me without even trying. Pretty sad it takes a full 4 person SWF with comms to even have a chance at win streaks

  • If only they spent as much time balancing the game as they do with useless cosmetics.

  • I know it's shocking for you but killer players lose too eventually. Can't win every single game!

Oh no, killers can't win 100% percent of the time!! Survivors are OP! Nerf, nerf, nerf!! SWF is OP! Boo hoo, now I'm sad and angry.

  • ArrayGaming, Vulpixia, Dookmo, TheGhostieShow, Ohmwrecker

Ran into OnepumpWillie during his current Sadako win streak. (I almost legit got the hatch escape but he downed me and gave me mercy hatch anyway.)

The one really big one that stands out was SpookyLoopz. He was playing Oni.

I play against or with many small/newer TTVers every single DbD session but we're obviously not counting those. So many people stream DbD these days.

As a killer my thinking has been that solo players should get a slight buff, not that swf players should get a nerf. 🤷‍♂️

I agree, thank you for being civil and reasonable. As a mostly Solo player I don't want SWFs to get buffed either.

I've seen plenty of streamers playing with their chat or friends and all they do is talk trash and try to show off and then complain so hard when it backfires or they get outplayed. I can totally see that being the majority of SWFs too.

I really wish there were more decent human beings playing this game but people have always been vile, especially when they can hide behind a screen and not have to face any consequences for their actions.

Playing both killer and solo survivor, your bias is showing.

Killer games can be that miserable, facing SWF after SWF where you get barely any hooks.

Meanwhile my solo survivor games lately have been fine. Decent amount of escapes, and even if I don't someone usually does.

That's not to say solo survivor isn't desperately in need to QoL improvements, but the situation isn't as dire as people like to claim, and if it is, you're probably not a very good solo survivor.

Latest stats showed that solo survivors escaped about 15% less than SWF, which is still within the "2K average" bracket.

Playing solo survivor requires a different attitude to SWF, you need to play more cautiously and strategically, and be aware of how the killer might find you, because you don't have team mates to fall back on if you get yourself caught.

Decent killer players make better solo survivors, because they know how 'they' would find someone.

That is hilarious you say my bias is showing while clearly showing your own. Killers are not facing SWF after SWF and barely getting hooks.

I have 1,400 hours in the game and regularly get prestige 80 to 100 teammates in my solo Q games and more often than not the team still gets 4ked.

Get off your high horse and quit trying to hide that you clearly play more killer than survivor and have no idea what you're talking about.

  • I'm so sick of seeing killer mains acting like this game isn't completely in their favor! Even if you do run into a SWF it's one damn match you lost!

Playing Survivor is beyond miserable and you can literally lose 10 or more games in a row. No killer player is losing that much and it's so disgusting seeing them all complain constantly about SWF!

If Solo wasn't such a miserable experience people wouldn't be forming so many SWFs just to have a chance at a fair match up!

  • True! 😄 There never seems to be a shortage of trolls here. This game attracts them apparently.

  • First survivor game of the night trying to do the new tome challenges. Got tunneled and chased the whole time by a PoS Slinger player just because I had a toolbox.

So much fun! So glad they make people just trying to do survivor challenges targets for salty sweatlord killer players. What an awesome idea!

Not really, i am getting stomped by SWF's teams every 10th game or something and it is far from FUN.

I do play survivor as well, just very low mmr and i chill, i don't care if i die or escape and most of the time we lose because teammates in solo quee are just selifsh most of the time.

I complain for High Elo SWF being busted not "ALL survivors"

Well news flash friend, it's also "Not fun" for the people that you "stomp" on your way to meet the SWF teams.. Also by the way, how do you even know they are SWFs to begin with? There are good Solo players out there too and I'm sick of hearing how only good players are SWFs which is completely untrue.

  • Two of your poor Nurse victims are so new they have tier 2 common perks in their builds. And you had the audacity to complain about SWFs in previous posts!

It's shameful that you run those builds on Nurse and Spirit and then wonder why players DC and often send you salty end game messages. Try having a bit of empathy for the people you play against!

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

I see how much 'fun' these people had playing against you with the points they got - and this during an event that basically doubles the BP's...

Midwich offering, range and recharge addon + that build screams "I need all the training wheels I can get and gonna sweat as hard as possible on top and then act upset if people don't want to play against me"

YOU are the prime example of why people DC against Nurse.

I wish I could upvote your comment twice! 100% agree with all of it. Sadly I think OP is too new to Dbd to even realize the problem.

Onepumpwillie got bodied by Hens. Is the 200+ win streak after that? I'm curious; I honestly don't know the timing.

He is streaming right now and at 239 wins with 394 Moris in the streak as I'm writing this. And still going!

The fact that you still think Spirit is a problem kind of proves his point.

The fact that you don't shows how ridiculously biased you are. All it takes is getting injured and you can't get away from her because they nerfed Iron Will.

There is a reason she is always in the top 3 of tier lists but sure guy go ahead and keep believing killers are not OP. You're delusional just like every other killer main that thinks killers being able to win 100+ games in a row is ok and balanced.

  • I agree, The Arcane Dowsing Rod offerings will be useless after the event is over. I'm using them every game too and trying to avoid getting new ones but sometimes we are forced to buy more to progress in the bloodweb.

I think they should compensate us the full 2,000 for each unused Dowsing Rod left in our inventories after the event is done but I'd settle for half that too. Just as long as they don't just killswitch them and leave them there!

I am considering some points regarding some issues and inconsistencies regarding PIP.

When it was a matching system by rank and when it worked.

Developers used rank as a measure of competence.

But as time went on, everyone became Red Rank and Rank 1. I think the matchmaking of ranks has been broken since then.

The developers abandoned the rank system, which no longer worked, and developed a matchmaking system based on rates, which are masked data. The ranks were then reshaped into the grades we have today. At that point, I remember the developers saying about grades that they were an indicator of how much you had played recently.

But here is where the contradiction arises.

If the grade is to be an indicator of how much you have played recently, then everyone should get a grade of red 1 if they play a lot. Oddly enough, just like when I was at that rank.

But both ranks and grades use the exact same emblem system. Anyone else find this odd?

If it reinforces the OP's opinion, I agree that PIP for grades need not be reduced. Because the grade should only be an indicator of how recently it was played.

I am not sure if I am getting my point across well since I am speaking through an automated translation. But I am trying to say that the grading system itself is flawed.

Your comment is well written and easy to understand. I completely agree with you!

Thank you for sharing your opinion on reduced pips and the grading system.

in what way is that saying im better than you? I told you you need to work on your skill. How the hell does that have anything to do with my skill? It's an objective comment, you're getting tunneled and camped so find a way to not get tunneled and camped. My god are you projecting hard right now.

Again, read your own first post on this thread. You're implying I'm bad at looping for being camped and then tunneled the moment I get unhooked. Then you spout out stupid things like I should practice looping and hiding when those are not an issue for me and go on about how looping is used to waste a killers time.

I ALREADY know what looping and stealthing are and why they are used! I don't need to be told about basic things that don't apply to being camped and then tunneled directly off the hook before I even have a chance to heal and reset. How are you not understanding what YOU wrote and why that would be annoying to an experienced player?

how often do you de-pip? It happens very rarely to me, even in solo queue, maybe once every 12~13 survivor matches... and it was never a problem for me... maybe you just got unlucky with a few lobbies?

It happens often enough to make getting to Iri 1 more of a hassle than it needs to be. I don't play in a SWF very often and the few times I do it's without comms because I'm not a fan of comms with people I don't personally know in real life and all my friends in real life are not interested in playing DbD.

sounds like you need to get better at looping and/or sneaking. As much as I hate getting looped as a killer, the survivor in most cases isn't looping me just to screw with me. They're doing it to buy time for others to sneak away and do gens. If you're getting tunneled, the killer has found his weak link.

Read what you posted. You came in here saying "Sounds like you need to get better at looping" and "If you're getting tunneled looks like the killer found their weak link" did you somehow already forget that?

  • @zHypnotism said:

Annoying scenarios aren't actually a balance problem. I didnt say Locker Techs were OP or hiding was an unbalanced strategy. Just as pips don't determine wins. I just said they are equally annoying as getting camped or tunneled. Balance is a whole different thing.

That I can agree with, this thread isn't about survivor vs killer and what's more annoying though. It's about losing pips on either side for things out of your control. It's just a lot easier to lose a pip as a Survivor multiple games in a row because of bad matchmaking, poor teammates, or killers that won't let people play the game.

Sounds like you're just mad. As a killer, if I'm going after someone it's usually because they are the weak link of the team. Ask yourself why you're getting camped/tunneled and work towards fixing that.

You wonder why I'm angry when you spout out dumb assumptions and think you're good at the game and everyone else on the forums are bad and can somehow learn something from your stereotypical advice that I don't need and certainly didn't ask for.

  • I just love all the killer biased comments. You just cant help yourselves can you? It's people like you that ruin these forums always assuming players are bad and thinking you deserve to win every single game.

Never even admitting that killers have the upper hand. You have to come into every neutral or survivor sided topic and spout out all your theories and nonsense about how the game is so unfair for Killers.

Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about bud. There is no looping when you are being camped and hard tunneled off the hook. Did you even consider maybe I'm being camped and tunneled BECAUSE I looped the killer for a long time prior to that?

Just wrong in 2 out of 5 matches the last 2 survivors hide till you find then just to waste you time often like 10-20min if that dosent stop you from playing idk what does

You are free to roam the map and do whatever you want. Stop acting like that is worse than being camped or tunneled to death and literally not being able to move on a hook. Or being slugged twice (assuming you have unbreakable and use it once) and then being left to bleed out for 4 minutes on the ground while the killer looks for the last Survivor..

  • @Sleem said:

Your OP was just about survivor stuff, so I added my side. Sorry you don't like what I said but I think I can speak for a lot of killers out there that we are tired of seeing annoying things coming from survivor players too.

There is stuff wrong with both sides that can be fixed. However on the killer side nothing the survivors do stops you from playing the game like camping, tunneling, and slugging does for survivors. You are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want, when playing killer.

  • @Sleem said:

How do you think we feel when we have to deal with loops, flashlights, exhaustion perks, etc?

And what about the broken and underpowered killers in C and D tier? Nurse and Blight aren't the only killers in the game.

The weaker M1 killers certainly do need buffs for sure! They are my favorite ones to play and it makes me sad they don't get much attention.

  • I can't believe you think all these threads will somehow get BHVR and other people to agree to you and other killers getting free wins every game. Like other people have suggested, play only solo Survivor for a while and then really consider what you are asking..

You've even admitted to camping and tunneling. There are 4 other people playing in your trials that are already not having fun! Stop complaining about SWFs if you are not going to even try to stop playing as sweaty and Try hard for the 4k every single game...

  • That's pretty funny coming from someone who apparently can't read. Person I replied to said it was ok to DC if a person switched items last second and was really petty about it. Care to actually contribute to the subject and learn to read before responding?

Yeah just use the broken 4 man swfs, I see them go on 200+ win streaks. The stats genuinely mean nothing with the current mmr gain/loss for survivor's. But I'm sure you are just baiting people anyway.

For any 1 video you can find of a good SWF going on that kind of win streak after 6.1 you can find 3 Nurse or Blight videos doing the same thing.

S tier killers AND top tier swf are both problems on opposite sides. Funny how you don't acknowledge that and just want to nerf all survivors even more because of SWFs while leaving Nurse, Blight and Spirit alone.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3239154#Comment_3239154

The intentionally messing up with stats is kinda like people suiciding on first hook, isn´t it? Since dc matches are not counted. Which, going from the amount of threads about afk nurses seem to be a bigger issue. Since there are none. Or at least i haven´t seen anyone complain about that afk nurse.

In regard of those SWF teams. They might not be interested in streaming for whatever reason. But you can´t be serious, when you say that there are none. Or is it, that whenever a SWF group shows how unbalanced the game for SWF is, the results are ignored because "not everyone plays like that!"?

Where did I say there was none? I said not that many, because there are not that many. Maybe learn how to read before you tag someone. 👍

Nope, you probably don't even play killer if you say that, or you're stuck in solo quee at low mmr and you lose a lot.

Your assumptions are pretty entertaining. So there are no good killers at high MMR? Sounds more like you lose a lot and that's why you are here crying about survivors being too OP on the forums.

  • If you're playing Solo put Kindred in your build and make sure to be a useful team player. I almost always play Solo and I get teammates that save me when I need it more often than ones who don't.

If you are being a team player and helping out and not just hiding while they do all the work the team will notice it and often try to return the favor.
