  • Same thing just happened to me on Xbox Series S too! Typical update b.s! Every time they do an update they break something else and add 10 new bugs.. πŸ™„

"and the killer doesn't let up on the people that stay in game because they have to kill everyone or they feel insecure about themselves for whatever reason."

Is this projection? Do you feel insecure about yourself if you don't pip?

Btw, did you know if the killer doesn't get enough hooks and kills they can lose a pip too? Crazy I know.

This is not a survivors vs killer topic, we're all in the same boat.

That's a fair point. I was just angry at the time of my initial post.

I don't think anyone should be losing pips on either side.

Mostly for those teammates who do absolutely nothing all match but hide and play for hatch from the beginning, they get some gen progress and hide in a locker anytime they hear the terror radius, they dont go for unhooks they never take chase, essentially they dont play as art of the team and deserve every depip they get

That's pretty poor reasoning for everyone playing DbD to continue to lose pips. Those kind of players wouldn't be gaining pips in the first place and often times they are the ones that cost everyone else on the team to safety or depip too.

DCing should 100% remain a depip situation but other than that there is no reason for losing pips

Yes please, it's especially annoying when you're so close to the next grade and you're on a winning streak, then mmr catches up with you and you end up right at the beginning of the grade and have to do it all over again.

That happened to me today and was the reason I made this thread! It is a very annoying thing indeed!

I was at 4 pips on Iri 3 and then went against a strong Blight. Right after that it was a Nurse that was clearly mad about something from their previous games.

Next 2 games I got paired with weak teams against strong killers. I lost all 4 of my pips in 4 games and I was so mad! lol

  • I agree, it's very difficult to get pips in the Iridescent grades without being in a SWF with comms. I struggle to get them there too even when I play well, take part in doing all the objectives, and even escape the trial on top of all that.

Even worse is getting up to 4 pips and then getting stuck with a few bad matches in a row and losing those pips that you just worked so hard for hours to get. It's pretty unfair actually.

I don't really have any advice though. I'm trying to figure out why it's not working out for me too.

  • @Laluzi said:

Please. I would wager that most depips as survivor are mostly out of your control and the result of your teammates throwing/quitting, your teammates just not being good at the game and the killer snowballing way too quickly for you to fill up objective categories as a result of that weakness, or the killer playing in a way that makes gaining emblems near-impossible for you (afk, tunneling, Bubba camping, speedrun Nurse, cheating, etc.)

There's no reasons for depips to exist anymore now that grade only measures playtime.

Well said! I think you are right and I agree.

  • @yobuddd said:

simple fix is get rid of depip. Safety, 1 or 2. I agree and think this needs to happen.

Exactly yes! Just remove the depip! A very simple thing to do that doesn't require any changes to perks or balance of the game. Thank you, that's much better title for this post.

  • @CoDismylife said:

    No, pips are meaningless.

I rather have bhvr actually buff solo Q

Pips by themselves are meaningless, yes but the difference between the grades are more BPs... I 100% agree they should buff Solo Q but it appears they are not going to do that anytime soon.

Yeah, sureeee. My poor killer fellows would stop tunnel if we nerf CoH...

Oh wait, they said same thing for Dead Hard too. They exactly said same words for old DS too. But i never saw anyone stopped tunnelling.

61% killrate and killers are still asking for more nerfs. CoH is unfair!!!!

What about camper Bubba? What about CoB + Overcharge combo? What about Plaything + Pentimento combo? What about Nurse? What about Blight with his busted addons?

Nahhhh, they are just alright. They are killer stuffs, they don't need nerfs. Just nerf survivors more, so we can get our 99% killrate.

Completely agree with this! They are the power role that controls how the game plays out and they win more often than they lose already and they still complain and complain and complain about things that have already been nerfed several times..

If you killer mains want CoH completely gone then I want old Iron Will back, a massive buff to Self Care healing speed, and DS to have a 10 second stun and work after both hook states. That's how absurd this CoH idea is..

  • I agree, being on the receiving end of a bully squad that you know is also talking major trash about you and your gameplay on their comms is a lot to handle at first.

It makes my heart sink when I see people BMing players on either side. Sometimes karma comes by and teaches valuable lessons in humility and empathy though!

Wish this game had more fun interactions between the two sides. It is wonderful how there can still be funny/fun bonding moments in this game but they are becoming increasingly rare the more competitive players become.

Residual manifest is fine but even for flashlight users it’s effect is pretty negligible except maybe against I’m all ears but at that point just run distortion

Overzealuos needs a hex to actually be significant which are already rare in this meta. Even then 1 injure and it’s gone completely

Almost all the perks on both sides are situational but in my experience hex perks are pretty common actually. Also Pentimento is a common enough killer perk that also respawns the hex. To each their own though I suppose.

  • Ahh yes the typical Ada and Wesker combo teaming up to be scumbag trolls together. I see this happen with these 2 characters more than anyone else in this game.

  • 2 out of 3 of Haddie's perks are not bad at all! Overzealous grants repair speed boosts for as long as you play safely. Making it a great addition to a gen jockey build!

Residual Manifest guarantees flashlights from chests and removes killers aura reading for 30 seconds with each blind. Great for flashlight warriors!

Inner focus is the useless perk because it is just simply not as good as other more useful perks like Bond, Empathy, Alert, or Kindred.

It all boils down to her not having enough cosmetic options. Her very limited cosmetic options are simply boring and very bland compared to the other female characters.

  • Not going to lie, I would strongly consider buying a Shaggy skin. Especially if it had the goofy run he does too just so I could have some laughs in this game again.

  • Can't say I blame them. People bring in ridiculously OP builds and play dirty with them like they are trying to set some kind of speed run record.

Matchmaking is extremely unbalanced and they probably won't fix that for years. What's the point of playing it out if it's not a fun match to play?

  • The human ego is a funny thing. It's pretty comical to see the "I'm so good at this game! I have to be high MMR because of this!" posts.

Some people love stroking their ego publicly and are not ashamed to flaunt it to anyone who will listen to them. I can't take those people seriously. Truly great people are the humble ones that have nothing to prove to anyone else and do what they enjoy because they love doing it, not for recognition or for pats on the back from strangers.

You can always disable chat features on PC, or private your account so people cannot message you for Console platforms.

I get that the DbD community is horrible, but there are many ways to opt out of facing toxic or malicious players, it unfortunately comes at the cost of not being able to interact with the good people in the community.

Exactly this! I set my Xbox settings to private a while ago to avoid the messages from sore losers or trolls. There are other ways of communicating in the game.

Emotes, nods, or dropping items can translate a (GG) well enough to get the point across without needing to put yourself through the stress of rage messages from people just trying to make you feel bad because things didn't go their way.

    Hello.

because a lot here conplained about the Balancing of the game, talking about OP Killers and Survivors who cant win, I decided to test it out on myself. For my surprise, I played a lot more survivor than killer in the past ~60 days. Lets take a look:

    1. SURVIVOR

After recording almost 100 games in this role, I cannot agree with the panic I can read sometimes here. In this stats, there is 2Man, 3Man and SoloQ included. Please forgive me, I dont have every option seperately recorded. I have to admit, that I forgot sometimes to press the F12 from Steam at the end-screen, but this happened on both situations, Escape and Death.

Well, here are my Survivor-Stats in the last 60 days:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/USCCH4DYJKWB/screenshot-20221004-193813-opera.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ABU7M9P8DIJT/screenshot-20221004-194409-opera.jpg

As u can see, I had 50% Escape-Quote. My builds were Prove Thyself, Lithe, Off the Record and Windows of Opportunity in most 2+Man-Trials, Lithe, Off the Record, Clairvoyance and Wake-Up in SoloQ.

Now u can say, your MMR is bad or whatever, but I doubt it. I could feel that SoloQ-MMR is lower than SWF tho. After this experiment, I, for me, cannot see the OP Killers till now. BUT: Its harder to get out, 100% sure.

    2. KILLER

On the other side, I have only 50+ matches recorded, because I went to Rank 1 in 1-2 weeks. Its my better role in this game for sure. I switched all Killers around (with a few exceptions... I dont like Bubba for example). Here are my stats:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/C5252ZJVM5D4/screenshot-20221004-193744-opera.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2ALG884552PL/screenshot-20221004-194514-opera.jpg

Wirh a kill-rate of over 80% in total, I assume that its easier to play killer than before 6.1.0. Its a huge deal to have old deadhard dead. I think this one perk alone is a massive buff, the 10% speedup is especially helpful for M1-Killers with low mobility-powers.

As u can see, I have used Meta-Perks most of the time. With the knowledge of being more than the 61% "BHVR-Powerhouse", I feel more free to try Meme-Builds. Before the patch, I was forced to use the same 6 perks over and over again. However, the killers itself are not perfect, there are some I would love to see Devs taking a look at, especially my Freddy, Sadako, Trapper at the bottom (buffs), Nurse, Blight and Artist at the top (nerfs).

Thanks for your attention and much fun in the fog.

    PS: Start-Menu of the last 14days πŸ˜…:

When people complain about Survivor being "unplayable" they are usually talking about Solo Q.. Everyone knows SWFs are more fun and give better results to teamwork and escapes because of comms and actually being able to rely on your SWF teammates.

If anything this is decent proof of how easy killer is now though.. You won 46 of your games and only lost 5, with 3 games considered a draw... How do you think that is a "balanced" experience? lol

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

This is pretty standard for my Survivor games. I am at Iri level. Escape a good amount of the time, often with not so great teammates. Look at the Prestiges.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A8AZF2VF40LA/standard-survivor.png

I rarely play Killer. As you can see I am Ash rank. I have maybe played 1 or 2 game as Wesker. Here is what I get regardless of Killer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JT2Y7RUCK6UY/strndart-killer.png

Again, this is pretty standard. Prestiges over 10 when I rarely play Killer. Maybe 1 or 2 Prestige Survivors as a Survivor. This happens almost every single time. Sure you can point to examples where you ran into a level 20 potato, but if you get a Survivor to level 10 to you have a lot of experience and access to perks. I really don't think I am the only one who is running into this.

Exactly the same for me too. I'm almost positive that this matchmaking system just throws anyone together, no matter their experience level. It makes this whole "MMR" idea they keep pushing completely pointless.

6.1.0 base chase changes are to blame for the camping and tunneling situation getting worse, who in the right hecking mind would shorten the dash distance between attacks, they in turn nerfed anyone who wasnt running exhaustion accidentally, the gen changes made sense, chases didn't need help.

I completely agree. Gens being completed too fast was the real issue. Killer slow down perks and Survivor repair speed perks add too many variables for proper balancing though.

  • @Dead_Harder said:

They keep improving the survivor experience. They made it so you get 10 seconds of BT and can move as fast as some killers as base kit to help survivors with tunneling. They added a perk that gives you 80 seconds of endurance + aura reveal immunity and grunt of pain removal. Pretty good vs tunneling even if you dont get the endurance part because noise removal + aura immunity helps a bunch during chases and those parts stay on even if you touch gens/heal yourself.

They added a perk thats really good against camping albeit not as insane as it could have been.

They are trying to add a way to pick yourself up which is again really good.

They are doing basically everything in their power to make the game as fun as possible for survivors as well as killers. What exactly do you want them to do? What are you unsatisfied with. What would you like to see improved?

And yet camping and tunnelling have only gotten worse, not better by any means.. None of those perks really counter anything when the killer comes directly back to unhook site, hits the unhooked survivor and then tunnels them.

Many useful survivor perks have been either nerfed or are locked behind a pay wall.

If Solo Survivor is so improved, how about you play Solo Q games for a few weeks and record it to show us all how it goes for you.

Killers have it so easy now, most experienced killers can go on ridiculously huge win streaks and get bored because of it. Survivors shouldn't have to form highly experienced SWF teams to have a decent chance of escaping only 50% of the time.

Matchmaking is a complete joke so that queue times can be faster.. How is losing 75% of the time and de-pipping most games a fun experience?

Ever wonder why so many people (Especially popular and experienced DbD players) avoid playing Solo Survivor and always bash it? Your killer sided bias is clearly showing.

  • I have a better one.. Work on generators!!

  • @Fac_attack said:

    I'm at a loss.

I play survivor a ton and am halfway decent in terms of game sense. In solo queue, I'm frequently teamed up with players who seem new or just don't understand aspects of the game.

However, as killer I am frequently placed against teams who are pros at body blocking, flashlight saves, and basically survivors I wish I had on my team. The thing is, I rarely play killer and am not very good. Matchmaking makes no sense.

Is it like that for anyone else?

Exactly the same situation for me too. The matchmaking in this game is a joke and never works properly. It's always extremely lopsided in one direction or the other.

One of my fondest memory of this "mid-game-bond" that you talked about earlier was this:

I was playing Pyramid Head on Ironworks of Misery and that one good player was a Yui. I chased her all over the place, got palettes slammed into my face a couple of times, but then we arived in a Jungle Gym and she was a little bit ahead and had stopped to do a gylph of some sort. I averted my swing mid-strike and let her finish. Afterwards we stared at each other for a couple of seconds, then I smacked her and we resumed our chase. I eventually got downed her and the game ended, somewhat luckily, with a 3K and Yui getting hatch. I would have given it to her, but she was there first. We had a respectful nodding at the hatch and then she went away.

What a fun and respectful exchange! Both testing yourselves to the best of your abilities without being rude about it. πŸ‘Œ Props for letting her get her glyph mid chase! I'll share a fond bonding story as well.

One time I was playing against an Oni at Ormond, he just couldn't catch me at the safer loops to get his power and everytime we met at the windows we both nodded vigorously at each other in a fun way. He left me be and slaughtered my team and closed hatch too.

Then he started patrolling the gates as the timer went down. He walked right past me when I was hiding at a small loop by one gate as he headed to the other one so I made my move to open it. It was about 95% when we saw each other and I knew he could have hit me if he wanted to but I also had enough time to open the gate too. He stopped and stared at me so I let go of the lever and turned to look at him and we both nodded to each other again.

I dropped my toolbox at his feet and then opened the gate, turned around one more time and gave him a quick point and nod and then slowly strolled out as he went further back into the map, I assume to find something to farm really quick while he still had the chance.

I agree with you, but tbf, I have tunneled those kind of players out of the game a fair amount of times. The good ones that wasted a lot of your time are a classic example of being "too dangerous to be left alive", especially if I suspect that you might have seen my totem during the chase ^_- Victim of ones own success, so to speak. But a too hard fixation on that one good player can easily lead to your own downfall, as you let the other three survivors do as they please with the gens. So normally this needs to be tempered and be applied in the right dosage ... but BMing after each successful vault or palette stun will greatly increase the likelyhood to get tunneled out ^^

That is a fair point and I agree with you as well. I've played enough trials now to notice when someone is doing something just to secure their win or when it's more malicious. But yes, sadly the BM happens on both sides more than we all would like to see.

  • I've experienced it first hand on both sides too but I'm pretty much a Solo Q Survivor main as well. (1,300 hours so far) So I've gotten plenty of BM from killers in game (and teammates too sometimes) for no apparent reason or for not making some foolish play or a pointless hook trade fast enough.

Sometimes the killer is just mad that I ran or looped them for too long, or I pallet stunned them a couple times in a row in a chase or blinded them with a flashlight for extra points when they break pallets. Or I was evading them too well a majority of the game. Some people are just sore losers/winners and not much can change that.

I started to just credit it to them having a bad streak of games, or wanting to teach some kind of weird trivial lesson to random players they suspect might be in a SWF.

(Apparently Solos can't possibly be good at teamwork or the game, according to all the latest gossip)

Maybe they were just afraid of having to chase me down again in a fair chase so they tunnel me off the hook or leave me slugged? Who really knows? It's hard to tell what the other side is thinking unless they specifically tell you why in end game chat. (If they even can because of cross play) I play on the Xbox Series S, so I can't chat with anyone besides other Xbox players and I even set that on private to just avoid hate messages from salty killers and raging teammates all together.

Those rare occasions when you do bond and have fun with the other players (Especially on the opposing side!) are so wonderfully refreshing though! Those games are what keep me optimistic that it's not always going to be a bad time in the next game.

  • An experienced Nurse is extremely annoying because she breaks gameplay mechanics blinking through everything right on top of you. The rest all have some counters.

I used to think Legion was annoying until I learned that dodging their attack or pallet stunning them stops their Feral Frenzy and then they become slow M1 killers again until the cooldown finishes.

Pyramid Head's counter is about learning to quickly juke/Side step his power when you hear the scrape right before he uses his power. Also use multiple directions behind tall walls and buildings as to not be as predictable.

The ranged killers (Trickster/Huntress) are all about staying out of their Line of Sight and looping around obstacles that are taller than your Survivor.

Just keep practicing breaking their Line of Sight, hiding, looping, and not falling for their mind games as often. (hesitations/back tracking/moonwalking)

  • I've run into a few brazenly open hackers myself and I only have about 1,300 hours in the game currently. (Solo Q Survivor main here)

A few weeks ago I was disconnected like that too in the middle of the trial for spotting one on my team and getting the killer to notice it too. I despise hackers in PvP games and don't want them on my team either as it taints the win for me.

With that being said, I've also read your posts on other threads bragging about your supposed 1,000 win streak with Nurse.. You then went on to make a Smurf account to start another supposed 700 win streak with Nurse again! Sure you're just "testing out MMR" lol

Even if I believed those are actually legit and not just you also using hacks to achieve them. Then that might be your problem because that is only possible by being an extremely disgusting and oppressive Nurse, if possible at all.. Maybe quit trying to ruin the fun of every trial you play in to stroke your ego on this forum and you might not get attacked so often.. Just food for thought.

  • I dare you to be more petty and continue to lash out at everyone that points out that you are shaming players for things you personally don't like. πŸ‘

  • Rampant Hard Tunneling as soon as someone is off hook! Camping/Proxy Camping until 2nd stage and then Tunneling some more! Don't forget subtle (many times not even subtle at all) cheaters! Using various different hacks they only pay a few dollars for.

Guess what happens when they maybe get banned months later!? Absolutely nothing! They just make a new account and continue ruining the games for everyone else that are playing the game normally. What a fun time!

These basekit solution perks are an absolute joke! It does nothing to help the situation at all... Oh geez, they have to wait 10 seconds before they tunnel you! How hard is it to count to 10 while they are right behind you, breathing down Survivor's necks the whole time?

  • Wow.. Imagine demanding gameplay changes because of one bad trial experience.. This whole circular rant comes off as immature and entitled, and I say that as a Survivor main myself.

I've had this happen to me many times before and it's really not a big deal. Hook suicide to give that person a chance for the hatch, or try for the Kobe! Besides, like others here have already pointed out. It was an acceptable play for the Dwight and there is a challenge to escape through the hatch right now too.

  • Here's one Solo Q story that comes to mind for me.

I was against a Freddy at Crotus Asylum. Our team managed to finish all 5 gens with only 2 hooks for Freddy but a Jill got downed before the gates could be opened and was hooked in the shack basement. Jill was using Kindred so I could see they were being face-camped. The other 2 survivors were moving toward the shack while I was 99ing the gate close by.

When I got the gate to 99%, I ran to join them at the shack and the 3 of us headed down the stairs together and formed a triangle around the hooked Jill. We took turns tapping her to bait out the swing without getting grabbed until the Freddy finally swung out of frustration.

Once she was off the hook, the rest of us let Jill pass and body blocked the Freddy and then formed a line going up the stairs. We took turns taking protection hits while we all sprinted for the gate. It was a perfectly executed 4E on a face camper. The fact that we had no comms made it even sweeter!

That poor Freddy probably thought we were a SWF, no doubt.
