Am I the only one pissed of being abused solo Q against tryhard spirit stridors?

"Spirit is fine. SWF are the problem....bla bla bla".

And meanwhile....is 4k spirit games one after other. I´m so tilted. 3 games in a row vs spirits level 1 or 2.

When the hell is going to be implemented a command communication tool and a ping system for solo q survivors???

They buffed kindred and small game for solo survs.

I not really complaining. More if a joke/exasperated sigh.

The games always a steam roll in one direction or the other tbh.

That’s it. That’s the post. Clap for the big brain play, but oh man, being stealth hit like this on Lery’s or Midwich... ugh...

Sounds like a fun Idea. Honestly not sure why your complaining. This game legit has perks to counter hex perks. If your not doing bones you got reason to complain. Especially with Devour Hope needing you to go down in the first place.

I'm not making excuses for a company. BHVR has ######### up a lot recently, but I am stating what I have heard. You don't get to act like you know what I'm doing. I used to play on Console, I know how ######### it is,

I also just know Sony. Sony doesn't play nice with any company, unless they are huge. When Fornite was first getting cross-play, PlayStation wasn't even going to be a part of it until the Internet freaked the ######### out on them. I don't know what the issue is with Microsoft, but I know for a fact Sony very well may be holding them back from PlayStation cross-progression.

That was because at the time Sony had the lead on the market. They didn't need to do cross play/progression. Let's assume it's true about PSN. I find it a bit odd that they wouldn't try for the Nintendo and Microsoft yet to force Sony's hand.

Also my bad just sounded more like you wanted to defend them. Like a lot of people like too. Especially with how bad DBD is getting.

I'm not making excuses to BHVR. I actually understand how tough it is on console because I have a PS4 even though my main platform is PC. Just saying cross progression needs to be something from both ends and it's easier to actually optimize console instead of just abandoning it.

It used to be on the road map years ago. People asked about it when consoles started having issues and again when cross play was announced it was eventually removed.

Then again I assume you know this.

Why wouldn't people want to abandon console with the state it is in currently. Is it fair everytime me or you opens up DBD on console we risking destroying it? Not to mention even PC has issues with it atm. Most PC can't brute force everything.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2323486#Comment_2323486

True in this case. BHVR has stated they want cross-progression, but it is an issue with Microsoft and Sony. It could be a price issue, or something else in Sony's case.

They aren't exactly known to be easiest company to work with.

    @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2323486#Comment_2323486

Yeah, but these games probably have to play a huge amount to these companies.

Smaller companies are able to do this quite easily. I feel its less of a money issue and more of a "can't be bothered issue or didn't want to pay" the only thing they did cross progression for was basically a near dead platform people even forgot existed.

Please stop making an excuse for a company who barely cares about its consumers. Your looking at a company who couldn't care less about the numerous bugs, crippling performance issues, clown not having a power that works, consoles bricking due to DBD, lies constantly and hasn't kept almost any word they have said. Just recently instead of fixing anything they instead fix cosmetic sets pretend its a license thing. Then people who contacted said companies found out it was nothing to do with them and all BHVR.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

This is probably Sony/Microsoft things. They don't want to lose the revenue they gain selling the base game and DLCs on their stores.

Not exactly true. Both of those companies allow much better games to do cross progression.

  • To everyone who's replying I really appreciate it. I love seeing your opinions. I've read everything you have posted and I thank you.

I wanna pip but pip system is not good. That is reason bad survivors can get red ranks.

Well help them learn. Most survivors who constantly swf are extremely bad and incapable of doing simple loops. Not to mention survivor pipping is more time played then any base of skill.

You click and t-bag killers to get chased, and are then unhappy that your actions get you predictably tunneled and you de-pip for it?

Sounds like you know what you're doing and you're getting the desired result. The problem is the pipping system, not the being tunneled part.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2302909#Comment_2302909

DS is changed so it only work against tunneling. Survivors stop using perk because it no longer allows them to do gens in the killer's face. Killers tunnel because no one's using DS anymore. Survivors get mad, saying they don't want to use their anti-tunneling perk to avoid being tunneled.

We use BT against camping killers. We use Distortion against aura-reading perks. We use Head On to stun killers. Why wouldn't we use the anti-tunneling perk to escape tunneling? What makes this perk different?

No one made anyone retire DS. People chose to retire DS, and it sounds like some may have made the wrong choice.

My playstyle requires DS because I do a lot of Head on stuns. People get mad at that.

I will not be able to do it (like, my skilled Huntress Achievement is on 4 Hits so far..), but I am really looking forward to see other people do that.

I would not even be mad if a Huntress hits me full Map right at the start due to Lethal Pursuer, but I would be scared at this point.

All it takes is practice i knkw you can do it.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    Personally, I run:

BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, Whispers and Brutal Strength. I will probably switch out Brutal Strength for Lethal Pursuer, once I have it on my Huntress.

BBQ-->Long range Shots (I never hit) and stonks

Corrupt Intervention-->The only Slowdown-Perk you need, gives you some time at the start of the game.

Whispers-->Huntress is a slow Killer, you dont want to spend much time in areas without any Survivor nearby.

Currently Brutal Strength-->Just to get rid of Pallets a little bit quicker to get back into the Chase quicker.

Lethal Pursuer-->Basically the same as Whispers - Huntress is slow, knowing where to go at the start to be in a ASAP can be crucial.

Imagine getting a cross map snipe with Huntress due to Lethal Pursuer.

  • @TwitchyMike said:

So I just came up with this build idea for huntress let me know if it's any good please.

    1. BBQ n Chili (Cannibal Perk)
    2. Iron Maiden (Legion Perk)
    3. Save the Best for Last (The Shape Perk) This one I am debating cause I don't know if it synergises with my thrown attack.
    4. Beast of Prey (Huntress Perk) This one I am debating on and I feel is interchangeable.

My thoughts for this build is... I obviously have BBQ for surveillance around the map. It also pairs nicely with Iron Maiden if and when survivors realize you are running BBQ and of course you can catch them when exposed. It is also nice for faster reload speed in lockers for huntress. Save the best for last helps with her slower movement speed.

I hear A Nurses calling and Discordance are good on her as well. So maybe I'd switch out 3. and 4. for these two.

    I use

Bitter Murmur, BBQ, Iron Maiden, and Spies from the Shadows.

  • @van9684 said:

I swear bhvr rewards you more for playing awful. I just had a round where I did 4 out of 5 gens, which is not my usual okay style. I escaped and de-pipped lol. My teammates who were getting hooked and downed got more points but did nothing for objective. Just something I noticed. Is it that bad for killer too?

Not quite sure what you mean, but pipping in this game is extremely easy. Doing just gens isn't a reason to pip. Anyone can do a gen. Theres 4 categories should invest into all 4 pretty easily for a pip.

  • @DuskMascato said:

So since DBD fixes everything besides their bugs that kick people out out and make them lose points I’m now a rank 9, I was a 4. I’m getting killers who either camp or tunnel. Is this the new strategy for people who suck? You get no points for camping and tunneling so why do it, it’s not fun for either.

    Have you consider using DS?

They could have at the very least waited until the game was in a playable state before patching this.

The game is currently is in flames, console players have been unable to play for a week. The ONLY thing worth noting this bugfix patch was this, which really shows where BHVR's priorities lie.

They never care much for console. It's mostly just a source of income. Its never been optimized like they used to say it would be.

  • @Mooks said:

Fair enough. But different circumstances, wouldn’t really expect someone to work over the holidays instead of spending the time with their families. But I get how this was upsetting. But it’s not happening right now.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2299189#Comment_2299189

I am missing the part where the bug fix is already finished?

So game breaking bugs that make the game actually unplayable shouldn't be worked on because you want to take a extra week off early? They knew about the bugs for quite awhile beforehand. Why is it a Indie team with hundreds of employees can't do a job of a indie company with 8 people?

Just saying they have known about Racoon City PD map since PTB. Then reintroduced it so they can find the bugs. Which effectively makes the PTB worthless. Especially since they didn't bother fixing it back than. This isn't the first time. It won't be the last. You seem to be defending them, but like you've mentioned they keep repeating the same mistakes over and over and it seems like they care less and less.

Wait this arguments just gonna feed into the TC in a few more post. So no point in repeating it again.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2299109#Comment_2299109

Gonna ask for source on that as well. As far as I know they are working on fixing clowns power but just weren’t able to in time for this patch.

The greedy company probably relates to the fact that they got sued for stealing fall out shelter and using its source code to develop a mobile game.

As for mine. It was a few years ago and they stated they were going on vacation over the holidays when the game breaking basement hook that blinded people 100% and had them stuck for a ez kill.

You can search them up if you want to, but if you've been playing this game for a few years you should already know or at least be aware of it.

Yeah. And those will come again.

i am not defending that. I said stop waiting for this to end, at this point we all know that those kind of bugs will come again.

Yes, but they let these game breaking bugs be in the game for months. Any other development team would be up day and night fixing these. I'm sorry I don't find cosmetics and nemmy getting extra BP a more pressing concern than Clown no longer having a power. Which has been around for over a week.

Last time we had a really bad game breaking bug. They acknowledged it and went on vacation.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2299057#Comment_2299057

Stop waiting. If you are unhappy with how things went for the whole time chances are you will never be happy. You are setting yourself up for disappointment after disappointment, this game will never be bug-free. (And while this chapter update and the twins were pretty bad, calling it pre-alpha for 5 years is an unnecessary exaggeration, it’s not that bad outside of those 2 updates)

Dude this game has had numerous game breaking bugs for both sides. Most of which they keep reintroducing over the patches.

  • @A_Skinny_Legend said:

I'm sure that these were just the changes that were easier to fix, obviously they're going to get it out of the way if they're done with it.

It just so happens that the other stuff takes longer than fixing the cosmetic glitch.

Patience is a virtue, namass tea.

Yes because breaking stuff for console players, breaking yet another map, breaking a killer to be completely worthless takes no priority over some extra BP and a few cosmetics due to a bug.

Oh don't forget they didn't fix anything with the map just reintroduced it so they can take a look.

Well, it had no counterplay in THAT scenario. If you did that to me, you'd get a "You cheeky little sh*t, well done." and that'd be that.

But the problem with DS and UB is that they counter the two worst aspects of killer gameplay: tunnelling and 4-man slugging as of current. People have just been creative with a situation they were technically forced into. It has now spilled over into killers who are doing nothing "wrong" with their games and that is an issue but I think that looking into the "how did we get here" is more important than the result.

It's like science. Find what causes the situation and work from there. Backtrack until you can't any more.

THAT scenario isn't that uncommon for me. Most people I run into have Soul Guard.

Survivors second chance perks, gen rush meta, being able to finish a game commonly in under 3 minutes all being stacked on top of one another. These are examples of just some of the issues.

Btw im getting off for the night. So if you want to discuss this further please just post it in my profile. I get the feeling the thread may be deleted.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1648562#Comment_1648562

Not specifically, but similar. THAT is what I call a smart use of those perks.

It also has no counterplay that's why people call it toxic. When certain perks get used in combination it creates toxic effects that can't be countered. I.E Small Pepe build

Some perks are fine by themselves, but get stronger with others, while others are inherently broken or strong. Than get worse with other builds.

DS is a good example of a perk that depending on player skill level can be polarizing and busted or useless. While it's also an example of a toxic perk that needs a rework. Nothing quite like someone spamming locker vaults or doing well as killer and still getting hit by a DS 1 or 2 hooks later. The way its been set up is not a anti tunnel perk, but a get out of jail free card.

  • @PigMainClaudette said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1648525#Comment_1648525

The community also thinks that just equipping certain perks in combination is toxic by merit of them just being together.

Never mind that there are people out there not abusing them to all hell.

Not the point but OK, sure.

Like I said, I also have my theories. They include trap tunnellers and hook-suicides. But they are still THEORIES. We have none of the data, different regions experience different results. Different RANKS experience different results.

Speculation at the level of what happens on these forums is unhealthy. We all need to take a break and back off.

The biggest issue regarding data is the fact while Almo defines it as absolute law and facts from how he has responded. Every other developer has specifically stated that you should take it with a grain of salt and the data is messed up.

So if Almo is correct than that means by Data statistics Nurse will be the worst killer in the game and Freddy is the strongest.

If the other Devs are correct and the data is screwed up by some reasons. Then that means Almo is wrong and Pig is not as strong as he likes to claim.

  • @Almo said:

I will try one more time. Data coallated across literally tens of millions of games shows Pig does fine. I admit she needs an addon pass... weird stuff in there like Ruleset #2 actually hurts her chances. It's just that since she's performing well and other Killers need addon passes more urgently, I'm not sure when we'll be able to get to that. It's definitely on my list though.

I mean why not show us the Data you have gathered than across tens of millions of games?

I mean you know Almo no ones gonna believe you until you show us a spreadsheet with data for Pig that's just not how the internet works. It seems your data is not the same as everyone else's personal opinions and experiences with the Pig. From people who main her to people who dabble with her.

I mean in low ranks shes fine, but once you hit middle purple to red she begins to suffer. She has not aged well at all.

EDIT: not trying to be rude just im generally curious how you say one thing, but everyone else says something else.

jk, i have no idea why pc players complain about console players

It's not that console is bad or the pc is bad. Crossplay introduced us to so many other people we finally are realizing the bulk of players are below average skill levels.

    PC sees inferior console players

Consoles see inferior console and PC players.

Yet if you turn crossplay off because of that you end up with a que time and the quality of survivors vastly improves.

It seems like most of the above average players turned crossplay off due to the crap teammates.

  • @Almo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1647606#Comment_1647606

Not needed, she performs well statistically. She's definitely A-tier. Not S... but definitely A.

Just out of curiosity how is she considered an A tier killer when almost everyone who plays DBD killer and survivor alike puts her in the bottom 3 killers.

    1. Her ambush is weak and easily countered due to her roar going off so early and being stuck in place at a certain level of the charge bar. Making her primarily a M1 killer. Unless the survivor is braindead and stays at the loop.
    2. Stealth is weak due to low PoV and slow movement.
    3. Crouch is too slow and punishing, but Ghostface gets no penalty for it.
    4. Addons are bad. Like horrendous so. With maybe 3 to 5 decently reasonable addons.
    5. Reverse Bear Traps are extremely RNG based. Meaning some games they are worthless and others a overbearing monster, but an average of pointless.
    6. Spine Chill for some reason is able to "detect" the undectable status. You know that feature thats prevent locating a stealth play outside visually seeing them. Seems odd a entire meta perk just destroys Stealth killers and plays in general.

I'm writing this post with a heavy heart due to the wave of dc's that have been plaguing our beloved game. From what I've gathered from in-game experience and reading this message board, the culprit seems to be a portion of the console base that are convinced that it is unfair that they are required to play against "superior" pc players. I'm here to tell you that you severely misunderstand the situation and your "protest disconnects" are only ruining the health of the game.

How can I say this you may ask? It's because I've been playing DBD on pc for 15 months now and . . . I've only ever used a CONTROLLER!!! Yes, I know this is sacrilege but frankly I don't care. I switched to pc gaming from consoles several years back because controller support had become so widely adopted. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's the best of both worlds really. You get the granular control over fps and such but you can sit back and relax with a controller in hand. I sit in a computer chair all day for work. I don't want to have to when playing games at home and that's why we live in a world with options.

Because of this I can tell you that, aside from framerates, pc players do not have an overall advantage over console players. I've only ever used a controller and I've managed to be able to learn how to loop killers well and escape as survivor. I've also managed to hold my own as a controller killer and secured many 4k's over pc survivors. I think too many console players have heard the phrase "pc master race" too many times and have taken it to heart when it was really a phrase born of a time when pc's and consoles were completely different beasts with very few overlapping titles.

I know this is a long post but my point is this recent wave of disconnects is not proving any point and only damaging the health of the game. You're just going to have to learn to adapt to some new playstyles. It's no different than having to learn to adapt when a new killer comes out or a killer is reworked which is something we all have to deal with every few months or so.

TL;DR: The playing field is more fair than you think, you just have adjust to different play styles. I can say this with confidence because I've only played on pc and never used m/k, only a controller. Please stop dc'ing. You're ruining the game experience for everyone.

Congratulations you have realized not one actual issue.

All these new maps we've been getting are all terrible imo which is why I'm kinda glad we didn't get a new map this chapter. Allow me to go down the list.

Most recently we have Midwich. I think almost everyone will agree with me that Midwich sucks. Sure it looks cool, but navigating this map is just a pain and I don't find this map very fun at all.

Next up we have Dead Dawg Saloon. First of all the breakable walls themselves just feel unnecessary and feel like a chore but you have to break them or else the survivors can waste alot of your time in main building. The side opposite of shack and Saloon also has weird loops that often just confuse me. Also I'm just not a fan of how the map looks overall.

Next up we have Sanctum of Wrath and Family Residence. Man we really didn't need another variation of Yamaoka Estate. These maps are a Blendette's wet dream and they just look ugly imo. Not to mention Family Residence is too big.

Next up we have Hawkins. Ugh.

Next up we have Temple of Purgation. The only real complaint I have about this map is that it's a bit too big. Everything else is about it is pretty meh.

Next up we have Ormond. I actually really like how this map looks. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing another variation of this map as long as they don't make it as big or safe pallet infested.

And that brings us to Father Campbell's Chapel. The last map we got that I was actually cool with. It is a bit on the bigger side but it's a good map imo. There's a fair amount of pallets and the main building is pretty cool and well balanced. The aesthetics aren't anything to marvel over but it looks good overall.

There are of course maps before these that also sucked *ahem* Haddonfield *ahem* , but I just wanted to show how long it's been since we got a fun, cool looking, well balanced map. Some may disagree and say that they actually really like x map which is ok cause this is just my opinion and you have yours. I just want to be able to look forward to new maps instead of dreading them. Idk I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts on this thougha and see if anyone else feels the same way. Also if anyone is curious my favorite maps are MOST of the maps from the first 4 realms. (Macmillan Estate, Autohaven Wreckers, Coldwin Farm, Crotus Prenn)

Well the Map Designer was fired from several jobs before because of poor Design choices.

I was explaining why the quality of survivors skill went down during cross play. Don't understand why it's so hard for you to understand.

No you were stating the difference between Controller and Mouse/Keyboard. Which did not even relate to anything i said. Skill and the devices to play are different.

I stated that I personally tested both on PS4 and PC crossplay off and on. The quality of survivors goes down no matter which platform I am on with crossplay enabled this includes your pointless "control difference" and the PC players your protecting, but if i turn it off the quality of survivors rises.

FYI just because you have a PC does not mean your better than a console player. Superior specs on your gaming platform still does not measure your skill as a player just your wallet size.

So since with PC and PS4 having the same issue with and without crossplay. My only conclusion to the results state that the average skill level of survivors is actually pretty low in general. Since the abundance of new survivors from multiple new sources make the results more obvious.

I'm not saying you are or your gaming buddies either. I'm just pointing out obvious results. That quite literally have nothing to do with "control".

You were talking about the quality of survivors skills decreasing when in regards to cross play. I explained why. Not sure how you missed that.

No your talking about the difference between Mouse and Keyboard in comparison to Controller which does not relate to anything I said. What your doing is asking people to look left while the actual thing is right.

Reread my post and try again later says the magic eight ball.

Stats please. And it is not sufficent to point at a person just selfcaring and say "there, bad". More like check how many people with selfcare escape compared to how many die with Selfcare. Or who gets the most points. Or points on average of Selfcare vs non-Selfcare people.

But I'm pretty sure you didn't do that type of evaluation, more relying on a gut feeling, that totally doesn't care or notice when Selfcare user play well.

I don't need to make the stats when i actively see a self care losing the game for people. Gotta love using perks like Kindered, Bond, Empathy, Aftercare. Ever been on a hook watching the self care actively healing themselves while close by and hit struggle because they care more about a 32 second heal than rescuing someone? Killers not close, but let me heal when you get 2 hooked. Why would i need to record stats when I've seen this behavior for thousands of hours 🤣

    Its not skill, it's control.

I used to play on pc and I was a slippery little dweet. Controls on pc are a ton more accurate and do what you want them to do. Switching to console, it's not easier. People think it is but it's not. Overtime I've come to realize I had much more control of my survivor on pc than console. But that's any game. Look at overwatch. People can aim a ton better with a mouse than a controller.

Now take a bunch of console survivors with a pc killer. One has better control, four do not. Doesn't mean they're bad. Hell I've even seen quite a bit of console players be able to juke red rank pc killers. But it's not as easy with controller because the controls are more potato than pc. This is coming from someone who has played both.

Not quite sure what your saying as it does not even relate one bit to what I said.

I think you're forgetting the "Self Care's performance with regard to Survivor outcomes is quite good, actually" part. I can't find any evidence that SC players are in fact worse than players who don't run it.

I'm not saying more people should run it. I'm just saying that it's an unfounded prejudice to assume that a player with SC is bad.

Your response definitely does not meet my experiences with self care users. I could record the results of my games with self care users. Let's just say it's really quite bad. Majority of these players are incredibly bad.

Most players enjoy the game. The small portion that can't handle losing and/or being bad at the game are the ones that flock to forums to complain is all.

There's a select few legitimate complaints on the forums nowadays, but most are drowned out by the community screaming nerf X or nerf Y. Why do [Insert Side] complain about Z perks?

The few thing I recently seen are Console Optimization and the Hill Bug.

You mean like this? Funny, I've never seen him not loop a spirit for at least 2 to 3 gens per game....so if he's your tutorial source, why are you still so bad?

If you don't know how to mind game yet its not the killers fault.....its YOU.

I always find it amusing people think he is a good player.

While he understands the mechanics of the game really well. His decision making is subpar at best. His overly dramatic click bait videos. Along with how rude he can be towards his community. Not to mention his bad attitude.

He's the "beginner's guide to Dead By Daylight" where anyone who wishes to get better quickly drops him as a streamer and watches someone else when they want to get better.

Thats just not true. To say most survivors suck at the game. You just seem like you have a salt fueled bias.

Actually they are not wrong. The quality survivor's actually massively decreased with the introduction of cross play while the quality of killers increased.

It just means that the average skill level of survivors is actually pretty low in comparison to the average skill level of killers. With the abundance of survivors nowadays it has become more obvious as well.

Yet if you turn off crossplay the average skill rate of both increases. What does this mean? I've personally tested this both on PS4 and on PC.

You can derank if you want tho, as I'm doing to avoid copy pasted games.

I mean i can play copy pasted games and play with skillful opponents or i can derank and crush less skilled or new people. If i have to derank to see unique and creative builds at the expense of playing with opponents that actively challenge me i would rather quit DBD.

Just because everyone else runs the same builds over and over does not mean I have too as well. Most killers only require 1 perk thats absolutely needed for that killer. While survivors don't need any perk at all.
