I always see the 'just do the gens' argument. Since when were survivors able to do all the generators in the time that one person dies on first hook? Maybe with two-three gens left, but no one takes into account having to actually locate/get to the gens first and the time that takes. You wouldn't believe the amount of killers that act like having 3 gens left is the end of the game.
Odds are if they don't get saved they'll struggle for that 4% just to get redowned off the hook, ultimately giving them more points because they want to play too, not play lobby simulator for thirty minutes just to sit on a hook for two, which only decreases the amount of time the other survivors have to do the gens.
9/10 Games where the killer face camps a person on their first hook to death they still get 2-3 kills (even when the victim is left to die because it's not like they're on the hook for 6-10m) and somehow 18-20k+BP while the survivors get nothing for healing, altruism or chase resulting in 10kBP at best and less because there's no interaction.
Point is they'll always camp for their own reasons, but especially so if they're getting rewarded about the same as if they had not face camped someone. Less effort, about the same outcome or better if people are stupidly altruistic. Bottom line is no one is saying you can't play that way, but just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
It's still a ######### outcome but I feel as though people may be a little less worried about this scenario if finding a match didn't take so long.

That was changed back, with no mention a while ago. Queue up with a rank 20 friend and watch your games you’re gonna ends up against rank 15-20 killers.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1348095#Comment_1348095
If there’s no weak link you’re screwed, I would say I run into that like 1/20 games or even less than that though.
I haven't seen that to be the case, but I mainly que with one person who is my rank. We're both good survivors, but always get ######### by match making. We end up with literal babies or boosted red ranks most games, it's a rarity and a blessing to get a decent teammate or two against a competent killer.
People act like you only que with people to bully killers. We can't help who we get matched with. If we take it too easy we get bulldozed, but if we realize they're having a hard time we're more lenient. We're not the type of people to be like 'lol u suk gg ez' or loop them through 5 gens. I just feel bad going against people who aren't a match for us. I just want to play with my friends sometimes and use memey or absurd perk builds, is that a crime?

And what if there's no weak link? What if they're actually good, understand and use theiü huge advantage called voice communication, maybe even with OoO?
It is not balanced and the argument that they tend to be this and that or could be bad survivors doesn't negate the fact at all m8.
Then you're #########, I guess. 🤷♀️ But like Warner said, it's not as commonplace to get a full squad of gods and even then, people make mistakes.
The literal first thing I said was that nobody said it was balanced, but ######### happens. ######### definitely happens less often than people make it out to be, I mean who the ######### even runs Ooo like that? I never see it.
If I were you I'd be more worried about kindred + open handed in a squad. You can see the killer if they're within like 40m of the hook and that's only with two people running open handed. You can see every move a killer makes while within range. Or even vigil stacking. Pretty debilitating if you ask me.
-
Matchmaking has been based on the highest rank for a while now, not the lowest, with the lowest ranks getting thrown into any match they can find after a certain period of queuing so that they get to play regardless of ranking.
Definitely pretty ######### matchmaking though half the time rank means nothing. It's so easy to rank up its a joke.

I mean, if you're lobbying with low rank players, you'll get a lot of low rank killers.
No point in "blaming" them for being low rank.
We weren't a 4 man and the one I WAS qued with was R1 like me. If you'd actually read what I said before commenting you'd know that.
How has it been this long since they changed the way that works and people still try to say this bullshit and get away with it?? Even if we WERE qued with both of them, matchmaking is and has been based on whoever is the highest rank in your lobby for a while now, not the lowest. Get with the program.

So a 4man SWF with communication is balanced?
Nobody said it was balanced (the scenario I gave we were only a two man with two randoms anyways), but it's not impossible. 4 man's tend to be super altruistic and that will be their downfall 9 times out of 10. You just have to know when to concede in a chase and go for the weak link when you spot it and it'll snowball from there typically.

It's sad that the only reason people fear mori's, at least for me, is because about 8/10 times it's only in play by a person who is legitimately bad at killer and intends to tunnel/face camp and mori people off first hook for a shortcut to gain leverage they acknowledge they wouldn't get through sheer skill.
When I see a mori I don't think 'dang this is gonna be a fun game against a killer I'm well matched against'. I think 'oh here we go, we about to get face camped/tunneled and mori'd off first hook by probably a green rank killer' and that's exactly what happens. Happened last night.
Green rank Ghost face (11 or 12) with noed, drivers license, that ultra rare camera add on (don't remember what it's called) where you stalk people faster while leaning and an ebony mori.
He only mori'd one person because they were a R17 dicking around when they could have just ran out the gate. Yet somehow this R17 was doing 360s left and right on this green rank killer too. He still ended up with two kills because my baby teammates wouldn't save me on my first hook while my buddy (the other R1) was getting chased. They were afraid he was down in the basement with me because he had been doing that all game to try and tunnel and get the mori, but when he realized we were just going to do gens he decided that wasn't going to work anymore. The last time he tried that I was able to get the save and blind him to prevent him from tunneling the poor baby.
The other two were 15 and 1 and he wanted to message us like it was our fault he got matched against us? Like buddy I'm just as dissapointed in the match making system as you are for putting us up against you after queuing for half an hour. It's not like we bullied him or anything, he was just upset he got out played by at least two people and I mean hell, I died in the process trying to compensate for the baby teammates.
I'm a consistent R1 survivor for context and I'd say about half my killers end up being green. Other half are where they should be (between 1-4 typically).

tell me what perk i crossed are you using?
are these perks usefull against rank1's? are these perks helping to survive? to waste time of the killer? do they help against Godlike playing killers? do they help against a Nurse, Spirit or huntress? or are they meme builds?
im not talking about meme builds you can use in a SWF im talking about useful perks to survive to waste time to have fun. and if needed to carry the potatos in your team. can you carry your team with vigil? plunderers, ace in the hole? perks what increases gen speed are useless (gens are already quick) do the crossed perks help against Camping or Tunneling? or even against slugging? if i meme around yes i can also run the crossed perks. but if i wanna successful these perks wont help.
I've got a couple builds for you as a consistent R1 survivor. I use the first three regularly.
Kindred + Open Handed (this stacks) + Better Together + Iron Will/Any other perk
Sprint burst/Head On + Vigil (this also stacks) + Fixated + Iron Will/Any other perk
Diversion + Red Herring + Head On + Technician
This last build is definitely not the strongest, but it can be alright if you like to hide because you can still be useful to your team by potentially keeping the killer distracted. Technician makes the Gen you're working on quieter so that you may be less likely to get interrupted working on it when the others are running the killer. Especially if they're looping near you. If the killer loses them or you want to cause a distraction, you can either throw a pebble (preferably away from your team if possible) OR activate Red Herring on your Gen and keep doing so if possible to keep the killer on your Gen and away from the others/your team. Head On for that sticky situation where the killer is going to check the locker you're using for Red Herring.
-
He assumed you wouldn't pip because you shouldn't have for mori'ing people off of first hook with an ebony.
Golly gee Batman, I wonder why people are upset. 🤷♀️ Truly hilarious. 10/10 would brag again about something so absolutely busted.
-
Love all the people comparing camping to looping a pallet. How dare you not stand there and let me hit you, that means I should be allowed to abuse my power! Make it make sense.
Like someone stated earlier that, oddly enough, no one has had anything to say against. Y'all are the first ones to scream it isn't right that people with DS jump in a locker, but it's okay to abuse your power to force someone out of the game early or otherwise prevent them from playing at all. 🤷♀️
Y'all cry so much about how unfair second chance perks are which wouldn't even be needed if people didn't play like that then turn around and tell people they should be using them just to once again say all survivors do is use the meta. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
This coming from someone who rarely uses DS (and supports NOED as is), but I should have today with how many people face camped from the start of the match for no reason. Three games in a row including a clown who spammed insta down bottles on you until he got a hit while you can't even get two feet away from him (no gens done yet, game just started) and then face camped while smacking you until you die on first hook, then had the audacity to say I deserved it for struggling because he wouldn't leave. This is your average red rank killer because it's the easiest way to cheese as the camping penalty does little to nothing to them. Why would the devs implement a camping penalty (as awful as it is) if they wanted you to play that way? That's right, they don't. Just like Legion was exploited and had to be changed because people didn't play him the way BHVR had intended.
I just wanted to have a chance to actually play the game after playing a face camping simulator the previous two games and waiting 20 minutes in a lobby to get there, but I guess that's too much to ask. Would have probably gotten tunneled through DS anyhow.

Congrats on showing you didn't read the thread at all. You are wrong. The op in that thread jedi, show these pictures, the sames one i am showing you down below. Proving Lal and you are bloody wrong and are bias as heck, who just want to blame all the worlds problems on killers and promote a in group vs out group mind set. For you can't treat people as people and can't possibly think people disagree with you. For if they disagree with you, of course they must be part of that bad bad nasty outgroup. Yeah clearly a killer main will spend more blood points on their survivors, than they would their killers. This is why Lal got called out. For he added nothing to this topic and ignore the main point. Certain people who happen to play Survivors, who are inexperience not knowing what they are talking about and blaming killers for their own lack of skills. Ignoring all of this, just so he can bash on killers again.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/632/you are wrong 2.png
Who you spend your blood points on isn't proof of who you main. I have a friend that only plays one survivor and uses all the points he earns on that one survivor to level all his killers, yet rarely plays killer. This does not make him a killer main.
I can't say I'm surprised at the kind of logic some people use here to push their narratives. You're not fooling anyone if you're saying you enjoy playing lobby simulator just to end up in a short match.

I had a match against leatherface and the person playing as leatherface camped each player he hooked. Once we realized what he was doing we just informed the last surviving member to just go for the hatch because the killer isn't giving us any chance to play the game any more. When the match was done he was ranked 9 versus our levels of 18, 19, and 20. Now I see how he got to be so high in level.
But as much as I want to be angry at his preferred play style, I was more upset with the matchmaking system. Had the matchmaking system been better, we never would have faced someone like that.
It's still not matchmakings fault you get killers like that. Some people just prefer to play like that even when they're decent, happens a lot even when you're matched properly unfortunately. Especially if they get upset during a match for any reason, they'll go from normal game play to '######### you, I'm securing a kill'.
Had a spirit tunneling my whole team off hook (solo) so when she missed a hit on one I clicked my flashlight at her to steer her away from the freshly unhooked teammate as she hadn't chased or hooked me once all game. Long story short, I needed to leave to go to work so I let her have me. At this point the last gen had been done and the only other teammate left that I had saved from being tunneled earlier had a door 99'd. I could have ran her more, but she proceeds to message me and brag about how good she was because she caught me after what felt like a 10 minute chase and 'that's what you get for clicking your flashlight' as if me doing that was the worst thing that happened in that match. Lmao.

I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings here. But I think that it's a pretty well known thing that survivors care way too much. It's kinda crazy. Of course there's bad examples on both sides. But survivors will get mori'd and wait 10 minutes for the game to end to talk crap to the killer instead of moving on, they used to DC to prevent BBQ and Chili stacks, they will camp your profile for 48 hours if you kill them. If you've ever turned on some of those low viewer twitch streams... They cry and whine and get super angry when they die.
I'm not trying to make this a point of toxicity. But I feel like when you're playing a killer.... If you see a survivor that beat you before and you notice. Then this time you're challenged and you're going to try really hard to kill that guy. It's like an extra challenge. That guy got you the last time, now you're going to get them this time. A healthy feud. Survivors tend to want to win. There has to be a reason that they made it so you can't look at recently played with to figure out who the killer is. Just saying.
It'd be less of a big deal right now. Since killer queue's are instant. But back in the day when killer queue's were like 5 mins and survivors were instant, it wasn't that fun.
They removed the way to see who the killer is through 'recently played with' because it was the only way to message a killer before or during a match and people abused this to spam killers or generally be disgusting.
I personally get moris every other game with ebony being the most common. Even had a killer show me that he had over 250 ebony's on two different killers after a match, but he was devotion 11 soo.
My first game today got a R12 trapper with Franklin's, brutal, noed and an ebony. Was R1 before reset, just got back to R2. He was mori'ing off first hook. Second game, got a Legion that did the same thing with the added bonus of proxy camping for the save. Can't tell randoms not to save. Fun.
I mean what's even the point? You screw yourself out of points to take people out of the game early and put us back in an hour long que, but I guess most killers actually don't mind quick games as long as it's in their favor. 🤷♀️

That looks like some very gross S.W.F that's right people swf, we love to see that. Start ringing the bells and the alarms. Sorry to see that. I like many has been suffering from TOXIC swf group for awhile now. This game is something else.
A random assortment of ranks does not automatically mean SWF. Matchmaking has been within 6 ranks above or below your rank for a while now and brown ranks only have to wait so long before they'll throw them into any match just so they can play.
I consistently get teams like this playing solo on console. I can't help who I get paired with and as a R1, I almost consistently get green rank killers. Very few red and even less purple.
Ranks just reset so I got put back to 5 (purple) which doesn't really help matters because while I'm trying to get back up for the hell of it, I end up with more people I shouldn't be paired with according to their system (if I haven't played for a bit and people get back up to where they were prior) because they set us back, for what? Like that suddenly changes your skill level or motivates you whatsoever to rerank? (Also I guess some people don't get set back when they should? I played with a friend who was also R1 and his never reset when mine did. I don't know if he has yet, but he stayed R1 all that day. Game was reset and still nothing.)
In any case, rank definitely does not mean skill. Just means you play a lot, especially considering it's possible to pip up twice per game but only once down. You'd have to do basically nothing two games in a row just to negate a game in which you double pip.
It's incredibly easy to rank up if you're trying to and know what to do, permitted you live long enough to do it. Hell, you only have to do two gens to max out repair.

That's why I said "only." Also, if it only had a 4 meter range, there'd be no reason for it to have aura reading at all because the only people who would get that close to a hook are people who think they can body block you or people who are gonna sabotage. The first group would be seen by the Killer anyways, and the second group already has a notification built in for sabotaging, both of which make aura reading useless. ALSO ALSO, if the perk was only meant to counter sabotaging, it would be garbage just like the old Hangman's Trick was (since even if a team had toolboxes, there's no way to tell if they are going to use it to sabotage or to power through a gen, making a purely anto-sabotage perk a complete gamble at best), so giving it additional use beyond that is very beneficial to the perk.
Fair point on the built in notification for saboing, forgot about that, but sometimes you don't see people who intend on body blocking.
Also I did already say that I'm not saying it should be 4m, but I don't think it should be 16m either. Like I said, 16m = overkill in my honest opinion, 4m was an example using the range of prove thyself which is only as small as it is to prevent it from being abused. Imagine that being 16m and just looping the killer near gens being worked on.
I'd even be fine with 10-13m. I feel like that's all the distance you would need for it to be useful.
Likewise old Sabo was garbage and not worth using unless you were a highly coordinated SWF. I mean it was literaly made to counter saboing not to be a GPS. That's a bonus, not its intended use. The auras would be used to see people heading for a hook you're going towards to determine if you need to go towards another instead.
Can you not Sabo without a toolbox anymore or is it just faster with the toolbox?

I think you misunderstand what I'm saying, partially because I worded it poorly.
People need to stop thinking that a few people being upset and giving up playing the game will not meaningfully impact the amount of players playing the game.
People act like saying "I hate this game, I quit" means anything. Just because a few people give up on the game doesn't mean the game is dying.
People don't even take into account anything but PC players on here. There are several other platforms that are alive and well. Ps4 here.
I don't care about surviving a game as long as there's fun to be had. Surviving is a bonus. Saving my team even if it means sacrificing myself, even better.
When I'm SWF it's just friends to play with. People like to push this narrative that every SWF team are the Ochidos of the game when that couldn't be further from the truth.
I typically spend more time babysitting my team than anything, keeping them alive because they're getting mad/threatening to quit every other match because killers are being scummy because they feel like it's the only thing they can do to 'win'.
Playing killer, for me at least, is not hard, just stressful because of everything you have to do on your own and keep in mind. I'm all for QOL changes that can help make playing killer less stressful as long as it's not overwhelmingly oppressive to survivors to the point that you literaly wouldn't be able to get anything done no matter what you do, which a lot of really good, decent killers already do without resorting to scummy 'tactics'.
I'd go as far as to say the current ruin should be base game instead of a totem, but still allow you to kick it to make use of perks like Pop and Overcharge. It's a theory, at least.
I just want things to get better so people stop this nonsense that every single survivor is out to get x killer or y perk. I want killers to have fun just as much as I do because it's not about taking anything away from one to make the other happy. Then you'll never be satisfied, you'll always want to take more and more. Why not think of things that can be implemented instead of taken away?

Wooo, good to know I feel personally attacked 😂
NoED is literally a perk based around the late game. You don’t NEED to cleanse ######### except for the one Totem that is lit. Cry more about “needing to cleanse 5 totems” you need to cleanse 5 to prevent it, not stop it.
But yes, I omitted everyone else’s argument because they can’t comprehend the discussion. NoED is fine. You do not need to cleanse 5 totems, you just feel like you do because without doing so the Totem activates. When the Totem activates, find and cleanse the lit Totem like every other Hex.
Survivors cry about NoED because it puts them in exposed. Survivors cry about Mori because it eliminates them. Survivors cry about literally anything that does not involve them all Escaping.
my whole point was facetious, but thank you for telling me how I was feeling towards my own thread.
also, the only thing he was right about was cleansing 5 totems to prevent it from activating. Other than that, he/she was in their feelings about NoED being “OP.” As if any Hex (which can be killed instantly) is “OP.”
Nice attempt on your last paragraph, I could care less about survivor perks being buffed or nerfed.
You said it, not me. 🤷♀️
Preventing it and stopping it are one in the same. I said you have to do all five to prevent it from ever proxing, typically you shouldn't wait for it to become lit to then cleanse it unless you want to risk getting caught breaking it for the extra 500 BP. Talk about r/whoosh. 🤭
Yet here's a survivor doing none of that and you still want to do nothing but argue semantics and hypotheticals, like 'every survivor' that exists crying about not escaping which isn't the point of debating the balance of anything nor does every survivor feel this way.
I could say the same thing about 'every killer' just wanting an easy kill and crying whenever they aren't guaranteed a 4k, but that's not true nor is it relevant to what is and isn't balanced.
The fact that you have to pull that card during a discussion is proof that you don't want to parley, you want to preach.
Asking for actual balance no matter what the issue is shouldn't be seen as 'x is crying/asking for nerfs again' automatically. Some things need to change if there's ever going to be any progress towards a game where people don't feel the need to make threads like this to begin with.
Change is progress. There's been a lot of it, there will continue to be as the lists of perks and killers expand. If we're ever planning to see a semblance of balance, it must. Every change is not necessarily bad or a nerf/buff nor is it the end of the world. See the ruin change, for instance. The insta heal change. The upcoming hook, toolbox and subsequent perk changes. All of which I look forward to as we stray away from the meta and into variety.
Show me where I said noed needed to be changed. At all. Go on, I'm waiting.

If it was only meant to counter sabo hooks, it wouldn't have been designed to work with every hook.
If it's meant to counter saboing, it shouldn't have the kind of aura reading range it has.
It'd be a fine perk as long as it only revealed the auras of survivors directly in the vicinity of a hook, much like the way prove thyself works (a 4m range).
16m is a fairly long range when all hooks have a minimum distance of 20 or so. That means you have to make sure you're either in a locker, which isn't always an option or in that sweet 4m spot between all the hooks.
Wouldn't care if it worked map wide as long as the aura reading is reduced some, not saying it has to be 4m, but 16m seems like overkill.

Because me being facetious is a complaint. Maybe learn what an actual complaint is before you accuse someone of complaining lol. Context comprehension is very important if you’re going to spend your time reading forums and trying to go after someone directly.
Other people picked up on it, but here you are.
Funny that you feel personally attacked ('trying to go after someone directly', nice cop out to a discussion by the way) because your fragile ego can't handle your logical fallacy being pointed out.
You complaining to someone that their viewpoint was biased for calling a killers perks rewarding failure and survivors not was not facetious.
You weren't being deliberately innapropriate or flippant about it, you were trying to belittle someone sharing their opinion with you because you didn't agree with it. You turned their reasonable suggestion into them defending survivor perks over killers perks because they had a suggestion for a QOL change to a killer perk, god forbid they have a response to the actual topic, and before you get your panties in a twist again, I'm all for noed staying the way it is. I think it's fine.
Side note, since you want to talk about people 'not picking up on things', I noticed you like to lie by omition. While I don't typically agree with Archimedes, he's right about having to do five dull totems to ensure noed never proxes.
It's one of two options to dealing with it. Not that I agree it's an issue, but he's technically right that noed is the only hex that requires you to break all five totems for it not to prox. I don't think you're stupid enough to not see what he was trying to say, you just ignored it to push your narrative as I expect you to try and do here again.
At the end of the day, noed is fine the way it is. Just like adrenaline. Just like dead hard (which doesn't work half the time anyway). Just like decisive. 😉 Those complaining about decisive now obviously haven't been around since before it got nerfed.

Because survivors earned their usage on their perks, right? Caught twice in a row, here’s DS? Injured on final gen, here’s adrenaline? Not really sure how you can favor one side being rewarded for, as we’re now labeling it, a failure and not the other.
Here's you saying that survivors don't earn adrenaline. Your complaint is that it takes as little effort as some people think NOED does. The hypocrisy is blatent.

I could careless about perks in this game. I enjoyed the game before I started having to use perks.
Also, NoED is not that much of a stronger Hex perk as a lot of you whine about.
Literally, 90% of my games in RED, NoED never activates. Let’s drop back to the cliche “git gud” days because people complaining about an inactive perk throughout the game is pretty pathetic.
At best NoED can maybe secure you 1 or 1 more kill if the survivors are that bad. I’m not debating on this post anymore. These forums are overrun with 18s.

Yeah sounds great. Put a game on and then its community and mechanics are so messed up you spend your time watching videos.
Sounds like a good mentality to have for a game that is meant to be “fun”.
Never work in game design.
I don't get why people turned this into defending the act of slugging which wasn't what the OP said at all.
This has only happened to me once, Ps4, so I don't personally think it's a big enough issue to call for action, at least not yet. I didn't DC over it, but I can't blame someone who would when you wait half an hour in the lobby and end up being left to bleed to death purposely.
Sure, you can go watch something, but we're here to play the game, not watch YouTube. This is not a solution. If I wanted to watch videos I wouldn't be trying to play a game.
Imagine telling killers who can't catch anybody because of the broken matchmaking system to watch videos and just wait for survivors to finish the gens and leave. Or better yet, 'Gen speed is fine just pReSsUrE gEnS'. Yeah, I didn't think so. Because that's not a solution, it's not even a bandaid.
And before you get more 'it's totally not on purpose' posts:
Played a solo match with No Mither for 'No mither, no problem' challenge, just for the killer to slug everyone including me. It doesn't matter how many times you get yourself back up when they're hovering over you because they know you can get yourself back up infinitely.
If it's happening enough to someone, I believe they have the right to complain about it at the very least. I may not agree that it's a big enough issue to take action, but I can understand the frustration.

I love messing with non meta perks and making them useful. I think I get more excited when new killers and survivors come out for their new perks and what new combinations can be made, even if they're not strong, but fun instead.
I like variety, but my current meta is Iron will, Quick and Quiet, Head On and Calm spirit.
With so many people using doctor/infectious fright/Spies from the shadows now, calm spirit sees a lot more use.
Iron will and Q&Q are not only good for losing chase. They're good for confusing a killer during a chase, especially those who use sound to determine whether you've vaulted something out of line of sight during a chase.
Head on is super gimmicky, but at least for me it sees a lot of use. People are sleeping on it. Especially with the help of Q&Q, it can really help get you out of an otherwise deadly situation. Like if you get trapped in the basement. Or to knock your teammate off their shoulder when they least expect it. Iron maiden is probably it's hardest counter, but typically by the time they're no longer stunned, you've made enough distance to not be M1'd.
Other than that I switch up perks constantly. Dance with Me would also be decent with a Head On build.
I never used DS before it got nerfed, now I only use it if there's a lot of camping and no slugging because if they're going to slug anyway, DS won't get used. Adrenaline is really good, but only once all the gens are done. It's too situational for me because I never go into a game thinking we'll get that far. Especially not at R1 in solo.
I used to love dead hard, but it was always a 50/50 of working. I don't get people saying it's OP when half the time you'd use it, you'd get hit, and get your exhaustion back like.. that's a slap in the face. It's mostly used to gain distance in chase as opposed to dodging a hit anymore. I didn't think it could get worse and then dedicated servers dropped.. I don't know what I prefer, people's awful ping or dedicated's god awful hitboxes.
I never use BT unless someone asks me to or I need to save people for a challenge. Typically you shouldn't be saving people if the killers terror radius is still on the hook. The only exception would be a face camping killer and I don't like to assume every killer is going to be this lame. Not to mention the counters to BT that make it useless. If you're asleep with Freddy, insidious, if you're affected by the undetectable status, or any stealth killers it's a waste of a perk slot in most of these cases.
Unbreakable is just situational, but definitely a clutch perk when it sees use. Some people like to argue that you recover faster so even after you use it to get up its still useful, but that's only good if anyone is willing to help pick you up or you're no mither and no smart killer will leave a no mither on the ground.

So you tell me to break my momentum early so its not broken late game? It is a solution, but there is no other perk that has power like that. Every perk in this game has a workaround (even that abdomination called NOED), current DS has NONE.
Yes. If DS is this big of a problem for you, this is your solution until or unless they come out with a new perk that counters it.
There are a few perks with no 'work around' (thanataphobia, coulrophobia, corrupt intervention, whispers, bamboozle which is grossly under used imo, etc) and will probably be more to come as more perks get added, there will be more counters and synergies.
You cannot avoid having to work through certain perks.

In answer to the popular argument, "Just do totems!" ...
I agree to a great extent, however, it's not always so simple.
What do you do when the survivors are under a lot of pressure? There could be 3 survivors remaining. Then, 1 survivor gets hooked. What do you do? Join Dwight on the final generator, cleanse the dull totem next to the generator or run halfway across the map to save your teammate? You could argue that the killer in this example has earned the right to NOED, having played well. I have mixed feelings about this. But my point is: it's not always as simple as telling people to 'just cleanse totems'.
I agree that survivors should cleanse totems when they come across them. But again - what if you're under a lot of pressure? It's all about priorities.
What about those totems that are in obscure places - off the beaten track, so to speak? If you're under pressure to complete objectives by a comptetant killer - should you really go searching for totems in the corners of the map? Without a totem counter, you don't even know if such totems even exist.
It is that simple.
'What is my nemesis?' If you answered NOED, you should be bringing totem finding perks and/or a map and be focusing on finding totems from the get-go. The way totem spawns are now, they are not hard to find on most maps and the ones where they are? Perks for that. Map for that.
There's only five of them and the time spent cleansing them is worth knowing by end game, if you reach it, you won't have to worry about it and you've ultimately screwed the killer out of one of their four perks (if they have it, if they didn't, at least you know they definitely don't now). It's a high risk, high reward kind of perk.
The only change I could see being even remotely necessary is removing the speed buff, but even then if you do all the totems you don't have to worry about it anyway.
Your priorities should be based on what you have the most trouble against in general.

NOED is has literally the strongest protection out of all Hex perks.
If using NOED feels cheap then we should change it so it doesnt. There shouldnt be a perk that rewards you for not doing your job the entire game.
Dymo pretty much summed it up for me. I just came to say don't slug for DS, eat it ASAP so they can't use it against you later and viola, no more DS. 🤷♀️

The only reason Survivors dislike noed is because it feels cheap and it doesn't require any skill to activate it. My change would not change anything except for the fact that it would have slightly stricter conditions which make it's effects happen (cooldown for instadown)
I could dress it as a rework but I doubt a rework would result in instadowns still being a thing with noed. It has to see a nerf of some kind.
The nerf I'm proposing is basically a gamble for the killer to instadown wait for cooldown then instadown again OR instadown injure injure injure get instadown back.
It would still give Survivors the initial surprise and put them on their feet instead of the balance of play completely shifting to the killers favour in which noed is known for.
Noed keeps it's function but with a slight condition which is nothing like what a real nerf would look like. I don't understand why you'd not want to compromise to silence those begging for it to be removed from the game entirely.
Same goes for other perks which are meta.
As a survivor main, it does feel cheap, but it doesn't require any skill to cleanse totems either. You can't really be mad if it proxes because you failed to incorporate totems into your to-do list.
It's fine where it is. The fact that it's a totem perk makes it super weak tbh. A good team should always aim to cleanse all totems and if you're so worried about NOED playing solo, run a totem finding perk or bring a map. It gives an alternate objective and element of fear to the game not knowing if the killer is running it or not. Better safe than sorry, though.

I actually find hook tech to be funny. I usually get the first hit in, then they realize they aren't invulnerable and try for the save. 50/50 I get the 2nd hit in and that's 2 on the hook now. It's a bit annoying, but counterable with an in-game mechanic. You just swing at the right angle.
BT isn't the only counter though. If 2 people go in for a save, and one baits the Killer, most of the time they will leave the hook. I do say most, because some refuse to leave. Those ones are the ones you have to gen rush, and if they're doing it from the first down with 0 gens popped, you already know they are toxic.
I solo queue and manage to get unhooks on Campers pretty often. It's actually a bit fun to be quite honest, because you get a little adrenaline rush when it's successful. Sometimes it just goes all bad and I end up on the hook, but that's part of the game. It's why you have 2 1-minute timers before you die.
Look at the Hag right now for game breaking bugs, btw. Her teleport is all sorts of screwed up and actually hinders her in many situations. I'll not even talk about how sounds are all over the place either, sometimes good but mostly really bad right now. There's actually quite a few bugs that can legitimately break the game to make it almost unplayable from a Killer perspective. Some of them are really random, but they do happen.
Camping isn't a bug. It's a tactic as has been stated multiple times. Much like flashlighting a Killer at a pallet while they break it, it's annoying AF and frustrating, but it is in the game for a reason. It "can" apply pressure to the remaining Survivors, and while there are many reasons to not do so, some people prefer to secure their kills instead of going out for another chase. Everyone has a different style of play, there is no "correct" way. Just have to adapt to it and move along to the next match when it's over.
I've seen hook teching work pretty well most of the time, not that I've done it myself because I don't run BT and I wouldn't even if I did. If they got hit through it, they were doing it wrong already.
Two people should never be going in for a save, especially if there are no gens done. As I stated earlier in the thread, you don't bum rush the hook when a killer is hard face camping. You concede. There's little to nothing you can do at that point. There is always a possibility you can get them off, but very slim and not worth the time invested even with BT. Unless you're just on a suicide mission, go for it.
Another thing I mentioned was I really wouldn't care so much if que times weren't as ridiculous as they are (30min+) because I'm not stupid enough to think they'll ever do anything about this issue. I know they won't.
I just hate getting caught immediately to stupid ######### (like a Ghostface spawning directly next to me and stalking me in two seconds) after waiting 45 minutes to get into said game just for the killer to camp and tunnel the moment I get off the hook and mori me within two or three minutes of the match starting.
Just happened last night, twice in a row when trying to convince a friend whose only had the game for two weeks that it'll be okay, not every killer plays like this, just to have two killers back to back prove us wrong and make him want to quit playing altogether because he said he's been dealing with this for 90% of his games with most of the killers being R1-4. For two weeks spent playing, 90% of your games should not be like this.
But it only matters if the killer is having fun, right? Cause that's literally all any one has to say about it. 'Killers have to have fun too.' If fun to you is being a scummy person, go for it, but don't be surprised when people complain. When I play killer I don't have to resort to this ######### to get 4ks. Ever. It's not excusable. So we'll just have to continue to agree to disagree.

They've added multiple Perks to promote non-Camping play styles along with the emblem malus. Sometimes it's the proper choice to make though. Especially if you are playing against over-Altruistic Survivors who are sweaty for those Unhook points.
The same as Slugging, Camping is a legitimate tactic to use. I'd suggest Patrolling is better and more rewarding, but Camping is just fine if that's the style of play you like.
How many Survivor Perks are available to counter it? Multiple. Not to mention they added swivel hooks so Facecamping is no longer a thing.
Learn to counter it. There are ways to do this. Isn't that the chorus everyone sings when a Killer complains about something? You just need to adjust and pressure the gens.
It's one thing to say there are perks that are counterable, that is true, it's completely different to relate exploiting game design to 'adapt and counter'.
And before you get started, that's why they're looking into hook teching. You shouldn't be able to do that. It's an exploit, yet you don't see me saying 'adapt and bring a perk to counter THAT' because I acknowledge you shouldn't be able to do it in the first place.
Not to mention, I'm sure borrowed time is really the only viable perk to use against that and it won't work with certain killers if you're affected by the undetectable status effect now so even that perk becomes null and void.
As if a swivel hook prevents a grab, a trade or even a one hit killer (addons or otherwise) from downing you for trying to get the save (and the person you saved in some cases).
I really don't think it's unreasonable to ask to be able to actually play the game. God forbid you want to use a variety of perks to have fun and switch it up, you'll be criticized for not running the meta like it's not a choice.
With this logic can you imagine the next time there's a game breaking bug? The devs are just going to tell us to 'adapt' and bring a perk to counter it. 😂

they added the penalty to encourage newer killers from doing it. It's sort of an incentive, suggesting, 'hey, maybe this isn't a good thing?' Which ultimately, is beneficial to them because they will get a lot more done if they don't camp.
However, if the strategy is more important than the rank, so be it. Sometimes it's better to eliminate certain survivors you are familiar with that are a part of an SWF you face regularly. Like, the ones that equip perks for increasing gen speeds, or that run borrowed time(some SWF only have one person run borrowed time).
Either way, as a survivor, when the killer camps you can just go onto the next match and not worry about the previous one. Sometimes camping is worth it as killer. Especially since the ruin change.
You can't, in one breath, say 'camping is okay and they accept it' and then say 'well they're trying to encourage you not to, so you get more done'. implying there are far better strategies they would otherwise prefer you use. Why encourage you not to use a playstyle if they reccomend it, especially if they're teaching you early on not to do it?
I don't know if you've heard of a little thing called que times. They're absolutely ridiculous right now to put up with people face camping you to death every other game if not every game.
Upwards of 30min+ waiting times and it's been getting worse. Getting camped to death sucks, but it sucks more when you don't even really get to play especially if you get one shot early on by ridiculously over powered addons or even worse, the hit boxes that have been registering, and have to go back into another half hour que. But no, what's more important is that a killer can secure at least a single kill because they're not willing to play without resorting to scummy tactics right..
Don't even get me started on ruin. There have always been far better perks. The only 'bad' thing about the ruin change is that it's making people use better perks.

They have said it's a legit strategy, and they support it, I don't know what you're talking about.
There is a big difference between words and actions.
They can say they support it all day long (shame on them for supporting it verbally), but the emblem punishment says otherwise. It's not much of one if we're being honest, but it was implemented to deter people from camping within 16 meters of a hook.
You get a little less points in one of the emblems and, subsequently, in blood points. It's not much, but it's there. If they thought well of it, why bother with the penalty? You can't have it both ways.
Either they think it's okay and they remove the penalty that already exists to back up that claim or they don't and they're hypocrites. Pick your poison.

Face camping is excusable. The devs fully endorse it at a playstyle.
If you bothered to read, which obviously you didn't, I already addressed that in the last bit of what I'd said.
People act like they've never heard of 'just because you can, doesn't mean you should'.
If they wanted killers to camp, they wouldn't have implemented the negative emblem effect when you do. End of story.
And did I really see someone comparing face camping to tea bagging and flashlight clicking?? These are the kind of people that defend camping, my guys. 😂 Buncha jokes for killers up in here.

They really have to fix facecamping. I am sick of it and tired of getting facecamped. Especially without any reason. We played today and 3 of us are facecamped one by one. Without any single gen is completed from the first hook of first down the oni just facecamped. I do not understand how killers enjoy it. They paid for this game and just to stare at someone's face on the hook. :DD Woow how funny... If it goes on survivors will tend to hide more and complete gens as fast as they can just not to take risk of getting facecamped or tunneled. Because some killers just do it not because of gens are popped. There was not even 1 gen completed.
Not that face camping is excusable, but to have it happen 3 times with no gens done?
It's not the killers fault gens didn't get done. If he was standing in their face each time, truly face camping, why didn't ANYONE else do a single Gen? At the very least, by the time ONE person gets face camped to death without struggling, you can have 2-3 gens done depending on how many people are working together or bothering for a save.
Don't swarm the hook when a killer camps. It sucks when someone gets face camped to death but there's little to nothing you can do about it most games. There should always be at least one person working on gens if you're all still that adament about saving them.
The way I see it, camping is comparable to spawn camping in other games. And demoing in Rocket League. It's something that is generally considered scummy, but is allowed to happen. Nothing will ever be done to remedy it. We just have to take it and move on.

Sorry, let me know if I got this right. I got hooked, killer is walking around the hook, I guess we can just say camping, I get unhooked, even with BT, teammates are running around to block and protect me, killer ignores them completely, avoids them just to get me, downs me eventually and hooks again. And situation repeats. And I am the one who needs to play better? Then tell me how, I'd love to get better.
Or better yet, they come back (or stick around) to mori you right off first hook. 🙃
Not that I 100% agree with OP, but I just love the amount of people that came here to turn this into 'entitled Gen rushing survivors just need to git gud and run to the nearest God loop' because so many of those exist, right.
They're assuming so much, from where you've been hooked to how far you are away from a safe loop down to your skill level because how dare you make a suggestion that doesn't benefit someone playing scummy to 'win'.
Doing nothing but demos in Rocket League instead of getting goals is a tactic that is allowed, doesn't make it any less scummy. Same goes for spawn camping in other games. People act like they've never heard 'just because you can doesn't mean you should'.
If que times werent 30 min+ right now, I quite frankly wouldn't care that happened to me because I could just move on. I'm not going to sit here and get offended that you felt the need to eliminate me immediately because you acknowledge that I could out play you. I only care that I have to go back to a half hour+ que.
Gen rushing doesn't exist and Epstein didn't kill himself.

Because of how the game is, not only 1 person is right or wrong there's no infallible ones. There's too many right perspectives. Winning perspective. Fun perspective. Self-one. They're all different and neither are wrong.
I never claimed that. That in particular was in response to them saying 'the fact that you don't agree with me means you don't play enough/understand'. That mindset is the person you should be addressing with this statement had you read the context prior.

I'm a killer. No hooking anyone twice till everyone is hooked once. No hooking anyone thrice or moris until everyone is hooked twice.
No hooking anyone twice in a row (#4 can't be #1 in round two bookings)
No pursuing an unhooked survivor until they've healed or completed a gen if healing isn't their interest or run no mither.
Playing by these rules I still get 4/4 every time unless I let them go.
There is no excuse for killers to be Petty and Unsportsmanlike.
If survivors die with less than 10,000BP, you were unsportsmanlike in one way or another.

"Insinuating if you don't play like a complete scumbag you can't possibly win?"
That's not what I said.
"If you're playing against good survivors and you're a good killer, you'll still win."
No. It doesn't matter how good you are on some of the weaker killers, if the survivors are "good" rank 1 survivors you will lose. Most killers rely on survivor mistakes to win. When you win it's because they aren't as good or they messed up a lot. If they don't mess up you lose. This doesn't apply to all killers, but most. The average survivor is a potato which why this isn't as noticeable until you find the good groups.
"This post was all it took to see the kind of person you are (and killer, for that matter)."
The fact that you don't agree tells me you don't play both sides at rank 1 or have a decent amount of hours put in. If you did you would understand this.
That's what the word 'insinuating' is for. You're free to correct me if I'm wrong, but based on your response I'm not.
Your whole argument is that only certain killers are ever able to win and based on your response to someone else about what your win condition is, my response to you would be not to play the killers you don't think are viable to completely obliterate every game. If it's okay to tell survivors if they want to win they should only ever play meta perks then you should take your own advice and never touch killers who can't win you those easy 4ks.
I had 1,191h in this last year. I think I play enough to know. The only killers I have problems with are ones I don't play much or have very little experience with (like Oni/spirit since I just obtained them).
The only difference between you and I is that I acknowledge most of my short comings are a consequence of my own actions/mistakes and I play to have fun no matter how many kills or escapes. If I have a good game, I don't care if I die and I'll more than likely die to the entity for a killer that honestly tried their very best, because they deserve it and it doesn't bother me any.
You.. you're joking, right? I don't have to agree with you to be right. You think your logic is that infallible? That's laughable in itself. Hold that L for me, sweetheart.

"The problem is survivor meta perks can be completely pointless 90% of the game. For example, when I play killer, even though I see these perks a lot I rarely ever see them in game."
Here lies the issue with this though. Against a good group of survivors if you play "fair" you will lose. So if you really never see any of those perks activate all game as a survivor you already won the game anyway. If you won anyway because he chose to play fair and none of them activated then it really wasn't a waste was it. If your team still loses and he didn't tunnel or camp at all, then your team just played very bad and/or there was a significant skill difference between ya'll. Whether they activate or not they are still the best perks in the game for a reason and that is why they are run so heavily at red ranks, not just for their activation but because it forces the killer to play inefficiently so they won't.
"My point is, I think survivors builds are more based of how a killer plays than a killers build is based of how a survivor plays."
I actually think the complete opposite.
Survivors are strong enough that the perks you bring don't matter as much. You decide what kind of play style you feel like having or if you wanna run some meme perks and it really won't hurt you that much.
Where as on killer there is very little variety in what options you have realistically against a good group. The majority of your perks feel forced on you, not what you feel like playing with. Most your perks are pre-decided to bandaid fix game problems that are never addressed. You don't have room to run meme or "fun" perks like you do on survivor. If you do then the survivors were just playing really bad or it's against low ranks.
Insinuating if you don't play like a complete scumbag you can't possibly win? If you're playing against good survivors and you're a good killer, you'll still win. This post was all it took to see the kind of person you are (and killer, for that matter).
With que times being 30+ mins for survivors right now, I'm not looking to ruin anyone's day/game because I understand the frustration. That includes tunneling, camping and mori'ing off first hook, I know it's a shame, those must be all your favorite things as mind numbingly easy as they are to do, fits your train of thought. Why actually put any effort into playing the game the way it was meant to be played and learning how to deal with those pesky good survivors when you can 'win' by playing as cheaply as humanly possible, right? Right.
-
I'm a self considered survivor main on console and I rank up and down frequently and currently I'm at like r3. (I still play killer just not as much. Plague and Doctor mainly, get 3-4k most games.)
I play solo half the time and SWF the other half and let me tell you, solo is a PAIN IN THY BUTTOCKS. Most of my friends, met through playing the game, never reach purple ranks let alone red. Does that mean I should stop playing with them because the devs are incapable of finding a solution to this problem?
When friends aren't on, I'll find a community party. There you'll find people of every rank in any given party. I can't help what rank they are and people act like I do it on purpose to bully killers when that couldn't be further from the truth.
You wouldn't believe the amount of messages I get from killers when a game is over about how I'm a scum bag for using low rank people to get to low rank killers, even when they kill me because, yes, it happens, I'm decent but I'm no God and they don't realize I have to rely on a team full of people who are actually THEIR rank or lower and play just as poorly or worse even though we're talking. I can't do everything for my team and half the time they can't do anything for me.
I do however agree gens go by faster than I ever realize. It's not so much 'gen rushing' as it is lack of control on gens or map pressure the killer has and in most cases it's a result of a killer not knowing when to end a losing chase out of spite and patrol the gens instead. I'd like to see either more gens or gens taking a little longer to do or another objective in general. I can see it being overwhelming if you're already not doing well, but I think that would be better than it being as underwhelming as it is now.
Recently had a KILLER r13 nurse, we even talked after the match where I commended them on their r1 skills even though they threatened to mori me because they 'mori all Janes'. They held up their promise... but I gave them a good fight for it.

As a survivor main, I don't understand people complaining about NOED when you can just get rid of totems. It really isn't over powered because it's a totem perk and we have the ability to eliminate it completely. I get annoyed when I see it on Ghostface or Michael of all people, but I understand if it activates it was our fault for not doing totems. And for the love of God, stop checking on your lit totems. I wouldn't have known where it was if you weren't hell bent on protecting or checking on it. I'm looking at you, hag/trapper. It's a dead giveaway when a survivor sees you showing concern in a genless area at the start of a match especially. I'm less likely to find it if you act like it doesn't exist.
Also, if I see a killer is having a particularly bad time I'll '######### up' and let them get a kill or, since it counts as a sacrifice, die to the entity after EGC.
I don't agree with the OP on how a killer should play, but I understand some killers will always think this way. I've gotten into playing killer more as of late and the only time I have a problem is from SWF because they're highly coordinated sometimes and I end up getting anywhere from 0-2k. Most games I get 3-4k. Either case I play as the hard but fair killer I'd like to play against. When I'm feeling generous I only aim to hook everyone twice and let everyone escape. Unless they're giving me a helluva time, then it's fair game.
I will say I think there should be another perk like ruin, pop goes the weasel or divine intervention, I think it's called, to slow gens down (even though it'll most likely be abused by combining all the Gen slowing perks) or even add another Gen we have to do? Really good, experienced survivors understand that the best way to get gens done is for everyone to try and do their own Gen, which leads to what seems to be Gen rushing. It's really just a combination of lack of map pressure on the killers part and smart survivors doing seperate gens or fearless ones working under your nose.

They're.. interesting, to say the least. Depending on how they end up post production, I don't plan on acquiring either. Wasn't even aware there was a cosmetics contest. 😔

So then why give them a nonsense name like M1 killer
Made an account just to agree with Clog here.
As a survivor main, I only ever hear dumb people use M1 as an insult to a killer they don't like that's attacking with their standard attack. Which, you know, makes no sense since all the killers have a basic attack.
"He's just an M1 killer, he sucks, that's why he caught me twice already." - litterally been said
Barely related, but they say survivors complain about everything. All I ever see looking at these threads that Google constantly reccomends are a bunch of killer mains whining. EVERY. TIME.
I barely ever play killer, but when I do I almost always get 3-4 kills. Playing different killers. Playing fairly with no tunnels, camping, etc. Playing NURSE ON CONSOLE. Half the time without blinking but a handful of times. If you're having such a hard time catching people that you're calling for the devs to change how the game works entirely, you're probably doing something wrong.
