You do realize these are made survivors rules right? And you can play any way you want. Heck, camping means you're throwing the game....

Back to your topic, I managed to push to rank 4 on PS4 before the rank reset. Uninstalled and haven't touched the game in the past 2 weeks. Playing as a killer is just rage inducing at this point.

I dont play by survivor rules, and goll-y are people angry on ps4 o3o

Spirit mains each fall into one of these groups:

    1)Weebs

2)players who think every survivor team is a toxic bully squad

3)players who think old Freddy was the worst killer, "seven seconds fedora man bad!" and think new Freddy is a god, "60 seconds fedora man good!".

Spirit mains probably play Freddy until the bugs are fixed.

4)players who think Spirit has a high skill cap.

Spirit mains: "Spirit is very hard and takes alot of skill to play effectively"

Huntress: "Am I a joke to you"

I truely believe in number 2, and I don't even main Spirit :D

I escape most of the time now. The killers get a few hooks and are usually a lower level than me. While I admit I am having fun as a survivor, I highly doubt the people playing killer are having any fun. Wonder how much longer people will deal with games that fly by and continue to play killer.

I'll make sure to run noed when it comes out now. Thanks for the idea c:

This is how I feel about the reworked Ruin.

I noticed Ruin doesn't really have a huge impact most games because survivors are either:

    • A.) Found the totem.
    • B.) Killer can't force them off (Killers can only be at one place at a time)
    • C.) Doesn't prevent early rushing.

The only time where Ruin shines is when the killer has a lot of mobility such as Billy. However, I don't think a perk should only seek use by a few top tier killers, especially a Hex perk because they are supposed to be OP.

I don't think Ruin is far off, it just needs a boost of some sort when cleansed.

Perhaps, when cleansed, all survivors suffer from a 20% repair speed penalty for 60/75/90 seconds.

The regression rate is not scaled by perk tier anymore, just how much the penalty lasts once the related totem is destroyed.

In theory, when cleansed during the early game, it's still going to slow down repairs by decreasing the repair speeds of all survivors (that makes all generators take 20 seconds longer to repair). During the late game, this perk is devastating since survivors won't be able to pump the last generator out. You may think, wow that's really good, until I tell you survivors can just wait out the penalty like many survivors do with Corrupt Intervention. About the late game effect, survivors were given plenty of time to cleanse that perk, so it's only fair that they get punished for leaving it active for so long. 😁🤗

That totally makes sense cc: And pair it with haunted grounds

    If I camp, it's either:

A: I know someone's nearby, so I'm staying close (not facecamping though, more of a tight patrol)

C: The person's been a problem during the match, I NEED them gone

But it's so funny to see killers (on console) constantly run BBQ Chilli + Ruin + PopGTW or a combination of one or two of them damn near EVERY game and then pretend to be any different than the last guy that had it. I really don't care who agrees or not but to me, it makes the game seem a lot more repetitive nowadays. Someone I'm sure will mention it's the same when survivors run exhaustion perks like BL, SB, Lithe etc. Most of this comes from a match I just had against a doctor with those three perks (+ devour hope), who proceeded to slug everyone once we took out his totem until he was able to find hatch and camp it. I honestly don't see this game lasting much longer. It's been out since 2015 and the devs have yet to find a balance for both killers and survivors while constantly throwing out cosmetics and dlc, which means nothing when every update literally breaks something else within the game. I know there's a different department that handles cosmetics but once again, I do not care because, at the core, the game still has problems on both sides and I find it a bit insulting how the devs try to appease players with new dlc and blasé blasé blah while not fixing the main stuff. There are legit people out there thinking that since we didn't get a Christmas event, developers are hard at work fixing the core game issues and it's kinda sad.

    RIP 💔

In that case I would probably recommend a slugging strategy with NOED, Deerstalker and Nurse's Calling. Slug one person right before the last gen pops, down another using NOED, wait for a gate to open and hook them both, using Deerstalker and Nurse's to keep track of them and make sure they don't get healed. Try to kill at least one of their teammates in advance, and chase the other out the gate. It's not as reliable a strategy as Blood Warden, and it's a little mean, but it's the next best thing I can think of that could work.

I'm down with being mean c:

  • @Fibijean said:

Blood Warden is your friend for this challenge. Most people won't run out the gate straight away even after they realise you're running NOED, especially if they're a SWF.

Ideally, you get everyone on death hook before the last generator pops, and bonus points if you can down someone before NOED activates so the others don't know you have it. You can wait for the gates to open, or open one yourself if you're close and feeling daring, and then hook them to activate BW. At that point, they can't escape, so it's just a matter of getting a single hit while they're all waiting for the gates to open.

Side note - I don't believe NOED needs to activate in order to complete the challenge, you just need to have it equipped.

I dont have Blood Warden :c

It’s nothing like noed though because noed gives you time and counterplay to actually counter it. You have an entire match to make sure you and the other survivors found all 5 totems, and if you didn’t...it sucks but that’s how the cookie crumbles. Iri has no counterplay before it strikes and once you do get the information, it’s too late because they always play scummy.

All of that against "Legit" red rank killers who deserve to be at these ranks.

...really? She was promised revenge. That means she wants to hurt him. If he was a Killer, he would be empowered, and her vengeance would be denied. "It's not like they'll ever cross paths during a trial" which ruins her lore.... i mean, come on. Why set it up if it's going to be totally disregarded/dumped on? That's the definition of bad writing, set up demands payoff.

Also let's not forget, she's a yuri, isn't she? vengeful spirit. You can't really be a vengeful spirit anymore if your vengeance is denied: She would lose her identity and will to exist.

  • @Rex_Huin said:

I think how you do this sets the tone for the entire match.

     You basically have these options:

You ready up before any survivors enter the lobby. This sends the message: I don’t care if you are all P3 Claudette's with toolboxes or torches. I dont adjust my loadout for yours. I will take on all comers. You are a brave and fearless killer.

You don’t hit ready at all just wait for the timer to run out. Make them wait. Yes sir…you are the boss. Or is there even a killer there at all?

Next my favorite. After the 4th survivor readies up you pounce like an evil puma and ready up yourself within milliseconds. You are awake, alert and ready to hook them all.

Next the impatient killer. You click ready on and off to make them hurry up. Your time is valuable. You can get a lobby in seconds whereas they will have to wait another 10 minutes. So get a move on. I am doing you a favour by even playing you and my time is precious (PS4).

Finally the coward. You wait for them all to ready in fear that the harmless looking Feng Min will transform into a P3 David with torch at the last moment. Only when you are sure there are no nasty surprises do you hit ready. If the survivors don’t ready up you quit the lobby.

    Which one are you?

If there's 3 toolboxes or medkits, or if its an obvious comms swf I dc before it starts

So I'm a survivor main but I play both survivor and killer, and have reached rank 1 in both (mind you I haven't reached rank 1 killer since October 2018, and I'm not that good with killer anymore). With Dead By Daylight I notice an expectation that their opponent's job is to provide them with a "fun game".

To be honest this is mostly from survivors, who some believe it's the killers job to provide them with a fun game. Whilst it's not entirely survivors, I've had killers messaging me to declare that I am now on their Mori list because they couldn't catch me or because I saved someone with with borrowed time at the end of the game.

My response is that to those who have the opinion that it's their opponents job to provide them with a fun game, do you care about how much fun they are having in the game?

I certainly don't care about the killers enjoyment of the game when I play survivor. My version of fun is being able to be chased by the killer for a long period of time, till when all the generators are powered up, the killer is driven to facecamp me, or the killer disconnects (especially when I see at the end of the game, the killer is a red rank). I highly doubt the killer is having a wonderful time in those situations.

So I don't care about the killer's enjoyment, so I don't expect the killer to care about my enjoyment of the game.

You're on my mori list now, just maybe facecamp uwu

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/101347/there-is-something-fundamentally-wrong-with-generators

    @DaddyJeff

There is something fundamentally wrong when only certain killers have mobility and are strong in chases.

The Forever Freddy build is a good example of this. Imagine if they slowed down gens even more, they would have to scrap/nerf a lot of the perks that already slow down the game. Or it would be too much.

Obviously if they gave everyone a teleport it would be boring. They need to give killers with limited mobility more variation to their powers and allow them to have options during a chase (Clown) , and also buff the ones who have mobility but do poorly during a chase (Legion).

You may think that gen times are bad but there are matches where the killer literally pressured enough that maybe one gen got done. Much of this has to do with player skill level... on both sides.

You're still forgetting about Legion o3o

  • @pemberley said:

I second what @NullSp3c said about the second idea: Legion should ultimately be a rush killer, not a sneak one. We already have Ghostface comparisons!

I propose that we take the same concept of Mob Mentality but instead the member seizes and holds the survivor in place for the player to stab. Every player in the map gets a scream notification, the killer sees the aura too. The grasp is inescapable except through other flashlight or cracker saves, if the survivor has a cracker themselves, or if the survivor “wiggles” like normal and claws at their hand or elbows them in the face - this would disable the trap, I think this would be more in line with Legion, it’s lore friendly, and probably won’t require as much code spaghetti as making accurate ai.

I support this idea the most o3o

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

So me and @LordGlint were talking about DBD and I told him that I was working on an Idea for Legion. I originally wanted something that hearkened back to there gang. Some kind of locker insanity or something but honestly, none of that would work, or at the very least it would be rather hard to put in game. So we started asking, what is Legion's main issue? Well, his power is kinda useless. By the time you slash one person, the rest have gone OR if they are injured they hear your TR and just book it.

First of all, let's take the removal of the blood trail in FF and the "M1s remove 50% of your power" things away. Those are silly and honestly, neither of us could come up with one good reason the Devs did that.

Secondly, DO NOT WORRY! We are not making his power lethal or put the chase on a "Timer". That is why people hated old Legion. We don't want that again.

So back to the main point. What do you do when you see Legion put deep wounds on someone nearby? You BOOK IT! You can't hide, but you can get away till they get hit with the end of power stun. Survivors know about There presence in advance in the general area... in other words the next victims.

So, you might be asking yourself, what do you do? Well it's simple! You could do one or more of these things!

    1. Remove his TR and red stain in FF. Just straight remove it so that he can run up on survivors and get them with FF and surprise them. Make the KI work on a radius. You could say there Frenzy is so great it cuts the ties the Entity have put on them for a limited time.
    2. Make his base TR 16 and his FF TR 24. Kinda a new approach to the same idea. This way would also open up Legion to be able to sneak up better on the people he has hit with his FF and need to m1 now to down. Legion is already the shortest Killer (yes, shorter than Hag) so they could FINALLY live up to the trailer and be even a LITTLE sneaky.
    3. After hitting two survivors with Feral Frenzy the Legions red stain is removed for x amount of seconds which would help with downs. Third hit lowers terror radius by 8 meters for x amount of seconds which could help with hitting that last survivor. With monitor and abuse the terror radius will be 16 meters. Addons could influence this.
    4. First two survivors hit with Feral Frenzy grants 2% increased movement speed each while the third grants a 1% increase bringing their movement speed in Feral Frenzy up to 130%. (numbers might be too low?)
    5. At base, being hit with Feral Frenzy causes mangled that persists until fully healed. Can't be stacked with other mangled status effects like sloppy butcher but works with coulraphobia and the like.
    6. If a survivor stops mending then they are downed. Deep wound timer depletes while doing an action (mending, repairing, sabotaging and so on) even while near the killer. If not doing an action the deep wound timer does not deplete while within 32 meters of the killer.
    7. You hit someone with FF and run off to hit someone else. You hit them and end your frenzy or don't make it ti them and end the power. When out of FF you hear the heartbeat and see the KI mark for a very short amount of time (for balance) every x amount of seconds while that first survivor is mending. (this was more of an Example)

"But what about the stun?" Well, if you think about it, it's similar to Nurse. It's there to make sure that you don't just end it and m1. You MIGHT be able to shorten it, but it's not bad because it serves it's purpose.

    Add on suggestions:

    1. Survivors are revealed by killer instinct for a very short amount of time every x amount of seconds while mending When out of FF. See previous post for explanation.
    2. Survivors suffering from deep wound make louder injured noises.
    3. Survivors have their aura revealed for x amount of seconds when they stop mending. Unsure if there should be a noise notification.
    4. Frank's mix tape rework: Hitting a survivor with FF then hitting another one and going back to hit the first survivor depletes the deep wound bar by a large amount. Maybe doesn't fully deplete the Frenzy bar but would still stun Legion. Would still be hard to down with frenzy but it adds pressure.
    5. Increases FF duration tremendously (5 to 8 seconds) but with increased stun duration (.5 seconds to 1 second)
    6. Survivors hit with FF suffer from the hindered status effect for a short time.

Honestly, even with JUST these changes, We think that Legion would be in a better place AND keep the play style that Legion players love. Maybe even add old vaulting speed and FF speeds back?

Also shoutout to @Frosty for getting me to think of this in the first place and for wanting me to post it.

This doesn't have many thoughts on Mending and Deep Wounds, cause after BT got it too, it's no longer just a Legion Issue.

AND NOW for a REALLY good idea from @MongByeolBuddies

    Give Legion a secondary power.

    Mob Mentality:

When a survivor is suffering from the Deep Wound status effect, press the secondary power button to remove the survivor's Deep Wound status effect and summon one of the three other Legion members.

(If multiple survivors are suffering from the Deep Wound status effect, the survivor closest to Legion will be selected when the Legion presses the secondary power button.)

The Legion member will appear 2 seconds later, crouched down in the spot you summoned him or her and wait for any survivor to get within range. When a survivor is within range, the Legion member will lunge at the survivor and attempt to hit them.

If a healthy survivor is hit, he or she will be injured; if an injured survivor is hit, he or she will enter the dying state.

Regardless of whether the hit connects, the Legion member will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

Legion can summon all three other members this way. If Legion summons a member while all three members are currently on the map, the first member to be summoned will switch to the new location. Legion cannot summon members within 8 meters of another member.

Survivors within 16 meters of Legion members can detect them by looking in their direction for 3 seconds. During detection, survivors will receive an audio cue. Once fully detected, the Legion members will dissipate in a cloud of smoke.

If a survivor sets off a Mob Mentality trap, the Legion receives an audio and visual cue. If survivors fully detect a Legion member, the Legion does not receive an audio and visual cue.

Also, Mob Mentality is a trap so perks, such as Small Game, will work against it.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Add-on changes to reflect Mob Mentality:

The Legion Pin -- The auras of survivors who fully detect a Legion member or are hit by him or her are revealed for 4 seconds.

Frank’s Mixed Tape -- Legion members are invisible to survivors outside of 8 meters.

Fuming Mixed Tape -- Legion can summon members without requiring survivors to be inflicted with the Deep Wound status effect. Considerably decreases the amount of time required for Survivors to complete the Mend action.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Mob Mentality provides a tool for Legion to counter looping, as well as set ambushes. Survivors paying attention can also detect when the Mob Mentality power has been used as the Deep Wound status effect will immediately disappear. It also speeds up the game for both the survivors and killers if the Legion uses Mob Mentality because Legion can get quicker downs and survivors won’t have to mend.

Plus, I think it would be awesome for Legion to actually play like, you know, a Legion! Lastly, if possible, it would be extremely cool if the teammates you summoned could wear any cosmetics you’ve acquired, making it so you could customize the look of your own Legion.

I think the first idea is good. And the second idea is cool too, but it'd be too op. If it were to kill a survivor/put in dying state, it would be more annoying I'd believe. It should at least put em in deep wound. Even then it would be op. So first idea's better, and while 2nd is cool, it'd be too op. Sorry Legion bro :(
