it literary the same gameplay as vs doctor, once you see the clown setting up the speed boost gas you leave right away and run into open areas where you can dodge the slow tonic so its a win-win scenario for survivor every time, unless you have already used every pallet in the game except for the one youre at...
and you are most likely not gonna get hit with just 2 bottles if survivors plays correctly, meaning you have to use most or all your bottles for one hit and then you loose time realoading while they sprint burt away
with old clown and ether addons i could down survivor with all my tonics and i usually did
He doesn’t slowdown throwing bottles though and sometimes you can’t simply just leave the loop, if you leave the loop a good clown will slow you down and you give him an easy hit

Its not that simple...
It is though? Are you that dense? The only difference if you don’t use his new bottle is faster reload? You telling me you want a 5 second reload? Or are you just crying over the loss of the outdated exhaustion add ons?

He has so much more strategic nuance now. I love it. It makes him harder to use to get the most out of him, but I think that’s a very healthy way to have a killer designed.
Mhm and also I personally think undying got buffed, Im loving devour undying, seems strong, had clown suck on so many fingers yesterday.
-
Played fine yesterday, you are a liar.
-
Clowns a blast, love how much more tactical you can be with him, and the new maps are nice. Game is definitely not unplayable like others say
-
@onemind said:
Literally what I said in my day 1 conclusions of this update
Clowns new bottles are negligible a 10%increase to movement speed after 2.5s in Scots video talking about 110vs 115 killers that movement was a .8s difference in about 12s so if we take that difference and double it you are saving about 10 m in all four bottels (10 is an estament because the time it lasts )then you have to reload so you lose all that distance you just put all 4 bottels into
Yea but 10% increase at loops is pretty damn good, his anti loop went way way up but only good clowns will be able to utilize it efficiently, I love buffed clown, he is more tactical
-
honestly i agree, people are going a bit overboard, especially the ones saying the game is “Unplayable” which is utter bull, I was having fun the day before the update on dbd and I still was having fun during the update, game has issues with the update yes i can agree, but really i would never say it has gotten unplayable, that is a huge over reaction

ok but here’s my counter Oni has to collect his power he can lose 1-2 gens but he can down the whole team when played right. The others have form of map pressure bubba kind of has it doc uses his madness to slow down the game huntress has unlimited range and can hurt people from a distance and pyramid head can hit people from a range clown has to throw a bottle walk up to a survivor and hit them while PH and huntress can hit them from a distance
Hooking and injurying survivors applys map pressure.

Yes you can dominate in chase but that won’t stop 4 gens popping by the time you down them
Actually thats when you are kinda wrong, downing someone quickly is what you need to start snowballing, yea I’ll probably lose the first 2 maybe 3 gens, but thats when your skill of a killer comes in and you need to make good calls, Clown is definitely stronger with this and has a scary good chase power, you can have no mobility power and still do well. Bubba, doctor, Huntress, Micheal, pyramid head, all have powers to help in chase. They can snowball, clown can as well. You just need to equip proper perks to compensate for your weaknesses or just enhance your strengths!
-
The speed up bottle is not ment to give him map mobility its ment to make him scarier in chase, when he gets that first hit or chases you inbetween loops. He can use his speed up to close the gap sooner while also slowing you down, dude can give himself level two bloodlust almost on demand, don’t scoff at 10% speed in chase especially when you give the survivor a 15% slowdown.

And I can respect this statement with support as to why you feel that way. I suppose the reason I started this thread is because MOST of the suicides on hook that I encounter (both as a Killer and as a Solo) are on the very first hook. I "wish" it was more a case of someone doing a late game triage, but that simply is not that common. The suicides I get are always the first hook, and it kills me to then have to go through the 3v1 game against poor Survivors who have no chance.
Unfortunately there really isnt a way to stop this, if someone doesnt want to play you can’t make them, take away the option to ######### on hook and they will just be afk instead, or refuse to help or worse start to sandbag, not much can be done to discourage it.

It is just a game, but it is also a measure of character. All of us, I would assume, got the same lessons in good sportsmanship in Kindergarten and on up. I'm a Killer main (although I play almost as much Solo Survivor) and I only benefit from people suiciding on the hook. As a Player, however, I'm interested in playing the game as it was intended. Yes, there are times when your teammates are dead weight. The urge to say "screw you guys, I'm going home" Cartman-style is going to be strong. I'm not going to lie and say I've never felt the temptation myself; of course I have. What I'm saying is that in the end it is two minutes of our time, no more and no less to sacrifice on the Hook. Don't think of doing it for the dead weight in a particular match; think of doing it for yourself and the game on the whole. There are going to be matches where YOU wish they had held on just a little longer to buy you the time you needed to finish that last Generator (or whatever). When the standard is to finish the game, we all profit. Aside from that, that two minutes is your personal brand. Are you a stand up guy/gal, or not? I do understand the frustration of being on the hook; I feel it just as intensely (if not more so being a rather competitive kind of person) than anyone else. I had to STOP taking Kindred specifically so I could not see my teammates; I decided I was happier NOT knowing how they were spending their time. :) How we conduct ourselves in games, just as how we conduct ourselves anywhere else, is how we define ourselves. For me, at least, the odd two minutes of time on the hook is worth doing.
I don’t get alot of time with my full time job to enjoy games, I play both sides, killer and survivor, If a game looks like its a for sure loss, I am moving on, I rather get on to the next game then drag a rough game out. Everyone else is entitled to do so as well. The only hook self sacrifice i can agree that is scummy is simply just on ones first hook with no one else hook, obviously there are times where it is rather unsportsmanlike to just give up but then there are times were it can be justified. Me personally i only get about 2 hours a day to play so if a game is going south hard, I’m moving on to the next one.

Except that this is a selfish, and egotistical way of looking at it. YOU are deciding there is no possibility to win; quite a ego you have there. But in this game there are several ways to win, earn points, and advance Emblems. Leaving early denies all your fellow Survivors that. If you aren't up to play the game to the end in the first place, don't bother playing at all.
Game looks unwinable, there is a claud selfcaring in corner, 5 gens left, two dead hook and Dwight just got found in a locker. Yea I don’t give two craps I’m out peace. Don’t get on someone about ego and being selfish when in the end. Its. Just. A. Video. Game.

Ds still counters REAL tunneling. Not the crap survivors call tunneling when in reality they just played badly
-
@rats00 said:
Its really not hard to remember unless you willingly play against clones.
I have little trouble remembering who I hooked and its rare I don't play stoned.
Conversely it can be difficult to remember who has been hooked for survivor because you need to connect names to characters.
I really don't think it's a big deal.
The same logic can go the other way around though? If you wanted to tunnel someone it won’t change really if you had a survivor hook counter or not
-
Well, during the next chapter, being chapter 19 they should be revisiting the twins and their perks (same with the survivors perks) so hopefully they will buff some of those mediocre perks!

It was never said to be specifically anti-tunnel. It doesn't even serve that purpose well and it for sure won't now. How is doing the objective abusive? Killers can play the game normally but survivors can't?
Killers can abuse it now for the reasons I mentioned. The perk will be so bad it won't be used, therefore It is definitely not a healthy change when you lose a perk for doing the objective and when there is no obsessions everyone will be tunneled. It's only healthy for killers, to make the game even easier for them where 4K bloodbaths are the norm.
Someone depended on DS a little too much lol, finally realizing how much it carried you?
-
@csandman1977 said:
Actually i see a small buff to DS with this. Hear me out.
Before many killers would purposely tunnel to remove the chance of a late game DS. Late game is when the perk is strongest.
Before if you wanted to save your DS you had to purposely stealth if the killer was close by.
Now, tapping a gen in passing or self caring means that you can still play normal and efficiently while still saving DS until late game.
You could already do that.. just don’t try to hit the skill check with DS and you can save it for your next hook
-
My friend, you are the MINORITY of players who hate this change, which those players honestly are the ones who depended on DS a little too much. You can play and win without it! Streamers do it all the time, I do it all the time. The perk is a CRUTCH take it off. Instead of depending on it, play smart! Be observant after being unhooked, pay attention to what the killer could be doing, and get healed by a teamm8 if possible (as a heal from a teamm8 wont turn off DS) stop wanting to be able to play braindead and actually play using your brain!
-
@ShadowRain said:
If you are getting chased after being unhooked you can still jump in a locker without it deactivating so you can still waste the killers time..
Yea but thats called tunneling, which is what the perk is made for, now its way better, for 60 seconds you can not progress the game unless you want to lose your precious DS. Now killers who actually don’t tunnel don’t need to worry about DS as nearly as much
-
Because those trees are bodyshaming the killers, they can’t passed through! Welcome to the Internet, you offended? Good you should be and no one really cares.

Not to detract from you're very correct statement but do remember iri + head huntress is still in the game...
both are stupid strong, I’d argue Tombstone piece can be worse tho, especially if you are the survivor that gets taken out right at the start.
-
@Mandy said:
yeah I really don't get the issue with this add-on personally. It takes so much stalking to do, and as a survivor you can work out if the killer has this by the amount of stalking they're doing so there's definite outplay to it - plus lockers as @Shirokinukatsukami said.
I've been in matches where the killer had this addon and never even reached T3 because the survivors played smart and avoided the stalk.
I find it to be like Devour Hope, high risk high reward type of thing - which I have no issue with in the game.
I agree, Red Tombstone is fine, but tombstone Piece is not, if you play your cards right you can literally kill someone off before the first gen even pops, Its crazy powerful and Im surprised that one hasn’t been looked at, killing someone off at the start of the game is huge for killer and this add on lets a myers do it rather easily.

How is the last survivor suppose to know where the killer is?
by attempting to find hatch, survivor will eventually find the hatch, i see nothing wrong with a killer who found that hatch choosing to wait there.
-
@Kellie said:
How about you just close it instead of dragging out the match for no reason.
how about the last survivor presents themselves instead of dragging out their doom?
-
Left for dead killer would be neat.
-
I don’t dodge normally, how do you expect to get better it you keep dodging the hardest obstacles ? However i did dodge once and that was because two survivors last second switched to keys before the timer hit 5. Basically [BAD WORD] that so i closed the game because I hate scum like that, (Yes i would of brought franklins if i saw the key normally)

New players to the game might agree with you.
After you play more you'll see what I mean.
tbh i think i played the game more then yourself, but its not even a official game term so really call it whatever you want okay? I feel like i am talking to a wall, majority of the community thinks the same, several others in this post and the last said the same, I am done with this discussion and will be ignoring any notifications from this.

That is just wrong.
You are not running someone down with nurse to hit them. We are assuming the survivors aren't afk....
Agree to disagree, call whatever you want a M1 killer to be, but do a bit a digging and you will see alot more people then you think would agree with me

I don't know how much more in layman's terms I can put this.
You are using the phrase m1 literally, the community uses it figuratively.
I guess you are the whole community then.
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884388#Comment_1884388
"and the power isn’t required to down for any killer"
Then you are playing at low ranks where everything is viable and nothing really matters as all the players there don't know what they're doing.
Against good players many killers require their power to down.
Technically speaking, a power is never required to get a hit for a killer, it is very much helpful and recommended but never required, obviously with a killer like nurse you should use her power but you are not required, you can still get a hit but the chances are small but not impossible, using the word required suggests you think it’s impossible to get a hit without power when that is just not the case.
Nurse blinks, nurse presses M1 does M1 attack, M1 killer. Done.
-
Great list to tell who is a M1 and who isnt, Nurse is a M1 killer, she just doesn’t play like a normal M1 killer yet she only downs with a M1 attack thus making her a strong M1 killer
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884356#Comment_1884356
It isn't determined by if their power aides them in downing, it's determined by if their power is required to down.
"Majority of the community" is based on thousands of hours on these forums and in game as well.
Well majority of community is the same for me, and the power isn’t required to down for any killer, been on forums for year with 2000 hours on game.
-
@AetherBytes said:
M1 killer means your only way to down a survivor is to m1 them.
Trappers traps cant down normally, so he's an M1 killer
Legion cant down with his power, so he's an M1 killer
Ghostface cant down without an M1
Plague is the same
etc.
But what does she down you with once she blinks at you?
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884360#Comment_1884360
That's not how most people use the term m1.
There's a difference between doing an m1 hit and being an m1 killer. Those are 2 very different things.
Well then its your word vs mine then, as most i have watched and played with call nurse and the like M1.
-
@WishIcouldmain said:

No it based off if the killer has a secondary damage option Otzdarva shows this Trapper is M2 but Nurse, Spirit, and Hag are M1s.
I suppose i can actually agree with trapper, technically can be a m2 but he heavy reliance on his m1 for most of his games.
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884341#Comment_1884341
Majority of the community on that page? IE 2 upvotes? Really? That's quite a stretch.
not going in upvotes, base off of majority of the comments there supported it, hell watch Otzdarvas video he did with basic attack and special attack explained, he sums it up very well.
I mean you said the M1 killers power can aide them in getting a hit, how is that not any different then spirit using her power to help her get a M1 hit?
and where is your “majority of the community” at?
-
@WishIcouldmain said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1884323#Comment_1884323
Trapper isn't M1 he can use his Traps to cause damage.
He is refer to a M1 because majority of his downs are M1 attacks, plus his traps don’t down anyone without a add on.
