Skill issue, no need to announce your departure bye 👋
-
I’m also getting really tired of hearing weskers voice each time he downs/hooks you. Especially when you’ve looped him for a really long time and when he finally gets you after throwing the game he goes: “PoOr PeRfOrMaNcE iNdEeD”
An option to disable voice lines in the accessability tab wouldn’t hurt devs

The only divisive part is how much you want the perk nerfed, not whether it should be nerfed or not.
Even people who defend the 3% think it does too much for 1 perk slot due to the endurance and haste effects.
Personally, I want the perk absolutely obliterated into the ground, but I wouldn't of minded just a slight nerf to show that they at least understand it's very/too strong.
And I want Knight and Dull merchant obliterated because they remove any skill from the survivor side, but we can’t have what we all want 🤷
-
@Brimp said:
You could just... start walking once you realize the killers going for the expose.
Yeah just stop looping and give the killer a free hit, great game design
-
Blight should not be 4.6 speed imo, he should mostly get hits using his power. Also his tokens should take almost double the time to replenish + addon nerfs. It’s insane how many people give up at 5 gens in my matches when they see it’s a blight, these nerfs should make him less oppressive
-
Not a celebrity but I would like all survivors from Left 4 dead 1 and 2 as playable characters, maybe as legendary skins for Bill. Also Kenny and Lee from the walking dead game

Same reason why some people need a crutch like swfs to play, and the same reason why survs stand at gates instead of leaving.
Yes people only play in swf to win and not because it’s fun to play with your friends 🙃
If you have no one to play with add me and I’ll show you why it’s fun
-
It's broken, I don't know what the devs were thinking adding this to the game. It's even worse than the snowmen

My condolences about how BHVR did the Switch dirty.
What can BHVR do about the switch’s poor outdated hardware though? If they started removing foliage and stuff to improve framerate, switch players would have an advantage over other platforms
-
Ever since wesker has been killswitched, the killer diversity has increased tenfold. I’m seeing killers like twins and pig which used to be really rare. Let’s all pray wesker stays killswitched as long as possible

Let's be honest... How is it FAIR that you get a permanent boost after getting hit? No conditions, just get hit and you're faster? Come on
Let’s be honest… How is it FAIR that you get a boost after failing to hit a survivor? No conditions, just failing the chase and you’re faster? Come on
-
Try playing against a trickster on a low loop and then come back here
-
What did you expect really after the DH and healing nerf? BHVR wants survivors glued to gens and that’s exactly what they’re doing. Blame the devs for killing off all other playstyles
-
What stops killers from abusing this new mechanic? What if they let the bar fill on purpose so they can tunnel someone out faster than normally? Blight and nurse can down and rehook someone faster than the time it takes to progress a hookstage
-
So you basically get 1,000 auric cells for free if you reach tier 70? Sweet
-
Yes everyone keep blaming the survivor so BHVR will keep the killer sided hit validation and reward high ping players. DBD is the only game where high ping gives you an advantage
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Ah yes. A bully squad consisting of a Jane going for adept, and a Dwight from a different platform.
Looks like the Jane got tunneled out immediately too, this why you can’t bring fun perks on either side as the other side will quickly abuse it
-
You call this a wall of text? So what do you do during tests at school then? Call the teacher to let them know you aren’t reading it because it’s too long?
-
No, it’s becoming more and more obvious that the devs do not play their own game or else they wouldn’t keep removing fun things with each patch.
Survivor, mostly soloQ, will be dead after this update as they have nothing fun left in the game other than holding m1 on gens or die. This is not an e-sports title and it should not aim to be one unless you want all casuals to leave your game.
This update also buffs tunneling and camping which are the most hated tactics by survivors. I’m not kidding when I say that there will be a mass exodus of survivor players if this update goes through as the devs now seems to care more about their competitive side than their casual one.
The only good changes in this PTB are the updated maps and the bloodweb changes which I’m sure were lumped into this update to try and take the focus off the bad changes

@Rulebreaker said:
...is there a specific reason why you hate anonymous mode? Doesn't really hurt anyone does it?
Not OP but it just feels like you’re playing with bots in a custom match and not an online multiplayer game. I get why some people use it but names in an online match are a big part of why multiplayer is so fun as you get to see other people’s creative names and seeing something like “Ace Visconti” feels really generic and makes me care less about someone.
Your name is your online identity that other people will remember your actions and words by so to me, it’s a big deal
-
Hey devs, camping bubba with no counter is still a thing in 2023 but yes medkits are the problem here. I love depipping without being able to do anything for 2 mins on the hook
-
@Stroggz said:
Truly a labour of love reward nominee.
Maybe this is BHVR’s way to punish us for not voting for them 🤔
-
They really think people will still play survivor after these changes lmao. Killrate will rise to 80%+ and good killers will reach a killrate of nearly 100%.
There’s nothing fun in this game left for survivors to enjoy and I will be uninstalling when the update hits too. Most people won’t put up with being a punching bag for a killer that finally gets to experience their power trip fantasy
-
So you want a cap on gen repair speed but not on gen regression? The killer main in you is showing

If you can figure out a way to counter auto DH scripts, let me know
Are you trying to imply you go against atleast 1 auto DH a match? Lmao some killer mains man…
I had a killer DC after my friend on PS5 pulled off a DH after spinning 3 times and guessing correctly when the killer would attack. He was blaming my friend for using auto DH which is impossible on consoles. Maybe admit you got outplayed and you aren’t as good as you think you are?

Oh I get the finger and tetleys tea bags when I cleanse upon spawning lol 😆
I want my 1000 pts thank you very much 🥸
COH healing is as slow as self care, plus I play a lot of killer so I know how annoying those humming blue bone stacks piles are, another reason why I like IH 😅
COH healing = 21.3 secs
Selfcare = 46 secs
It’s obvious you barely play survivor because almost everyone knows bringing COH is more beneficial than IH or SC as your whole team can use it.
Also if a teammate is following you for a heal and the killer isn’t around you, why would you use your Inner healing??? If I see a teammate run around the map breaking all 5 totems I’m getting out of that match

@pseudechis said:
I always found it interesting that not winning has somehow become the game's fault.
The game is balanced around a killrate of 60% which means you are always more likely to die than escape so yes people will rightfully blame the game
-
Wasting everyone’s time like this for a meaningless win should be bannable although BHVR thought this was ok so we can’t really blame the player
-
What I do if I get pounced while healthy is just keep him on my back like a backpack so she becomes a m1 killer till she can recall Victor. If you throw him off your back he’ll be back on you in 5 secs so it isn’t worth it imo.
Small objects like trees are really good against Victor and he will struggle to hit you without the toy sword addon if you keep hugging the object so you should try that if you ever get twins again 😜
Also do not camp pallets against Victor as he can down you during the drop animation so either predrop or only drop when you know it will kill him
-
As long as DBD has no competition it will never go down no matter what the devs do.
-
How would this work if you have for example 100 hours of gameplay on the xbox and 1000+ on steam? I hope you’re right though, I know so many people who want to make the switch to PC from console but can’t because they would lose thousands of hours of progress.
-
I like how all killer mains are acting like DH works 100% of the time, there are so many times where you get screwed by the killers ping or your reflexes being too slow. Not everyone who plays this game is 15-17 years old anymore with super good reflexes. Of the 20 games I played yesterday as survivor, DH was only succesful in ~40% of them.
If DH procced everytime you get chased then yes it would be broken but that is not the case. I hope the devs keep this in mind too

Btw I just remembered, The Zoning at the Loop is the same as Clown. Throw down a yellow on you and a pink on survivor.
You will get a hit at the loop. But for some reason when the Knight does it, its OP.
Look also at how much time a zoning takes to set up, the time wasted is like almost the same.
This is what a different kind of Killer looks like people.
Probably because the person that is playing killer outplayed the survivor and did the work and not some AI?
-
I’d like a weekend where all perks are killswitched so we can see how much they impact gameplay and balance from there

If you can run for long enough that the infection maxes out, you're already winning. That's 100s without being downed. 70s with the addon that increases passive infection. If the Killer isn't ending chases in 45s or so, they're losing hard, let alone 'spending so long chasing one Survivor that a solo Survivor could complete a gen'.
The feeling of entitlement to the possibility of an endless chase is ridiculous. It's a 4v1. You have to go down eventually. More Killers should have something like that which isn't 'use about all the dozen pallets that spawned on the map'.
There’s no entitlement on the survivor side, it’s just that going down only because the game felt bad for the other side is BS. Feeling like you deserve a down just because the chase has been going on for too long is peak killer main entitlement, the killer should know when to stop chase and pressure gens. If you need bloodlust 3 + the 8% slowdown from wesker’s power to get a down I’m sorry but get good.

and it removes the threat of a survivor making a mistake. overestimated howmany times you can loop shack? just dh!
This isn’t old DH, you can’t just DH to safety if you mess up at shack unless the killer is bad at baiting it. If you’re hugging the survivor there’s no way they will succesfully DH unless they’re lucky

Your intentions are good, and I don't think anyone would disagree that making underperforming Killers more competitive is a good idea, but there's a lot more to game development than simply telling someone 'fix everything'. I'll give a quick and simplified example of what this actually entails.
You're told to buff any underperforming Killer. Your first step is to do an analysis on which Killers require your attention. While doing so, you're going to find that most Killers seem more or less where they should be, but if you start to dig into specifics, you might find that some are performing really well in some skill ranges and poorly in others.
And so you'll need to dig deeper and find out why that's the case. Why are some people doing better with them than others? Is there something that more skilled players are taking advantage of that average players aren't? Have good Survivors mastered playing against a certain aspect of their power while average Survivors struggle? This alone is a lot of research, sifting through countless threads, video, streams, and even working with our data team to draw data from thousands of matches.
Once that's done, you'll need to figure out how to change them. What is a change that will make them more competitive in the ranges where they're struggling, but won't make them frustratingly overpowered in the ranges where they're already doing well? The Nemesis is a great example of this. Shortly after he was released, we found that he wasn't doing so hot in high skill lobbies, but he was doing very well in low skill lobbies. Upon further research, we discovered the high skill players were more likely to mutate his Tentacle Strike. And this was the key: We could safely buff the third tier of his power to make him stronger for high skill players without making him too strong for average players (where he was already doing well).
Next, you'll need to find the time to actually slot this update in. This is a very complicated part since every department has only so much bandwidth for each update. If your changes require animation support, for instance, you might not be able to squeeze your rework into an update that already has a bunch of other animation work required (such as a new Chapter).
When you find a spot for it, you need to playtest it and see how everything feels with a wide variety of players. Is it too strong in some cases, or too weak? Does this solve the problems you've set out to solve? Is it intuitive? Are there any control or feedback issues that need to be resolved? Depending on the complexity of the changes you've made, this can be a back and forth process that requires a lot of iteration.
And finally once all that is done, it needs to go through polishing and QA before it can finally hit the PTB, where you may have to iterate on it some more depending on how people feel about it.
All of this is for one Killer. There are soon to be 31 in the game. Meanwhile, you also have problematic perks, maps, mechanics- you name it- that people are giving feedback on which also require your attention.
Thinking, "Hey, let's buff weaker Killers" is only step 1 of the process, and it's a thought that everyone has had. If it were as easy as that, I promise you we would have done that already. Balance changes like these can take anywhere from weeks to months of work depending on their scope, and while we would love to be able to snap our fingers and do this for the next update, we're talking about literal years of work for this alone, let alone Killers who may be too strong or perks.
So yes, the intention is very good! But the TLDR is that it's not as easy as you think.
If you guys do take a look at killers, I hope you guys start with the Knight. His only counter is holding W when he places one of his guards and that only works if you aren’t cornered. Nothing makes me want to stop playing DBD more than facing 3 knights in a row

I think there's a misconception here, we're adjusting the audio sounds so that survivors will have roughly equal sounds however, that might be an increase to some or a decrease to others, we did not say we were making survivors quieter.
Iron Will is not supposed to make survivors completely silent.
Iron will was my favorite perk and they just killed it, I can’t even pick my favorite characters like laurie anymore because they’re too loud. You can have DH, DS or any other meta perk just give us old iron will back. Stealth builds are useless without it too, they all relied on iron will.
Each time you guys try to make the game more “balanced”, it loses more and more of its appeal. The matches turn into one big sweatfest and you lose more and more casual players.
Was old hatch balanced? No, but finding a key in a chest and sneaking around the map to find the hatch with a random teammate following you are some of the best memories I have of this game. Same with tombstone myers, it keeps the game exciting. The moment you guys start treating this game like its a competitive game, it will die because the fun dies

To echo what others have said, we typically hold perk updates for Mid-Chapters, not Chapter releases. Eruption was originally planned for the following Mid-Chapter but was bumped up due to the amount of feedback it was getting. We found just enough time to squeeze it in to an earlier update. Dead Hard, by comparison, has become a hot topic somewhat more recently. Keep in mind our updates are planned and worked on months in advance, so it can take some time before things that are 'hot topics' see changes.
That said, I cannot confirm whether or not Dead Hard will be changed, but by no means are we ignoring the discussions about it. Keep 'em coming.
We already have atleast 2 DH posts a day and you want to see even more of them? Atleast give us a way to filter them out then for the people that don’t care
-
It’s possible that 2 survivors were blinding you at the same time and you just didn’t see them because of bad fov
-
Kinda funny how similar the eruption outcry is to the old DH nerf. People got their crutch removed so they come here to the forums to throw a fit like a little kid. Eruption was just as broken as old DH with no counterplay and the game will be better off without it
-
As someone who always brings Object, I don’t mind :)

They should learn from their mistakes and nerf dead hard for real. A nerf at the same level as what they did with eruption, where it's a waste of a perk for most killers. I will be dropping eruptions from my builds, and dead hard should also get a real nerf that causes a lot of people to drop that perk from their builds.
People were saying weeks ago to not crutch too hard on eruption because it was eventually going to nerfed, even some killer mains realized it was busted. You can’t act surprised now
-
Good, bad killers won’t get carried by this 1 single perk anymore. I wish BHVR would focus more on aura perks and less on regression perks to promote more chases which are the most fun part of the game. Gen speedup perks/items would need changes too
-
RIP Pain Resonance as well then
-
Looks like someone hasn’t played SoloQ much where it is normal to lose 10 games in a row. There was even a time where I didn’t escape once in 3 hours but that is apparently balanced. It’s only unbalanced when killers go on a loss streak

Wasn't directed at you. Just always see people on these threads like "they should've left it as is"
Show me one person in this post right now claiming it should’ve been left the way it was, c’mon I’m waiting. People are calling out BHVR for being hypocrites, why did they remove the noose offering for being associated with suicide and self-harm while keeping the guy that has been literally hanged to death ingame?
It makes zero sense, you either remove all noose and suicide related things in the game or none.
-
I prefer Object over distortion as doing gens is the most boring part of playing survivor. I’d rather be the first one chased and the info you get during chases is really valuable.
It does have the downside of revealing your aura when you don’t want it though like when you’re trying to go for pallet/flashlight save or when you’re the last survivor.
-
Mods please give us the ability to filter out posts based on words in the title, please I beg you
-
Ok so what changed? SoloQ needed this, I hope the devs don’t give in to the crybaby killer mains who think they’re entitled to a 4k every match just because they’re the big bad killer. You are playing a 4v1, ofcourse your role will be more stressful than survivor.
Giving more info to survivors doesn’t mean anything if they don’t know what to do with it which means they would do just fine before the hud update too. Maybe learn to accept that sometimes you will play against more skilled opponents and losing is a part of playing games
