yeah people really forgot how to unhook safely.
recently i got flak in chat for "hanging around the hook" cause these survs where there to unhook in less then 4 sec. they where always hanging around and acted like each hook phase is only 10 seconds long so they NEED to unhook asap. but the same group told me it cheap to go for the unhooker and when i asked if they rather see me tunneling they sayd i should go find someone else or use an aura perk…. they all had disstortion -.-
Oh dear. That is an even more stupid excuse than I heard in 5 years.
And I think that if you told them to bring UW next time they would have told you it's OP because "it has no counterplay" or something....

10 seconds of base Endurance. No excuse that I get penalty. If they can't utilize the 10 secs they suck. Some purposely get downed.
In my opinion it is not harsh enough, even more so that depipping will be removed with the next update. Which means the minus points you get on the Benelovent emblem just keep you from pipping soon.
Removing the penalty would cause even more players to farm you off hook. Something we can blame basekit BT for. Because back in the day you hat to actually use your brain to get a safe unhook if you played withot BT. Something more and more people lack these days.
You should maybe think about how you play if getting Ash Benelovent every game because you farm off the hook. You are a tunneler's favourite btw.

Is there a penalty? Do you actually lose anything for an unsafe unhook? To my knowledge, there's nothing in the game that causes you to actually lose points… 🤨
You miss out on the 500 BP for a safe unhook and it gives a huge penalty for your Benelovent emblem. But as depip ping will be removed, an unsafe unhook will probably only prevent you from pipping.

I still stand firmly by this. With Distortion on the rise aura perks aren't helping track survivors and I feel like most co op perks should be empty handed.
No. Distortion should only refill during chase and not by just hiding in TR. That would solve a lot of problems with the perk. Then your change would not be needed.

Did you know that you can counter Blights hug tech by understanding the killer and the game. With the correct positioning and good movement you can loop it like you would loop other killers. (This is often even much more fun than bump logic blight that just makes the 4 correct rushes for the 100% hit with little to no counterplay from the survivor side)
So you can learn both the hug tech and the counterplay you just need an actual understanding of what you are doing when looping and not just "me hold forward and me vault pallet"That is so true. My favourite Blights are those with C21, because I am an Object user and therefore can bait them into hug-teching the wrong way even easier. I don't know what all the fuss is about that you can't counter it.

Did you report every bug exploiter?
When I had video evidence of bug exploits being done intentionally to victimize another, or admitted to it in endgame chat (including Oni flicks/Wesker wall dashes, and window-vault stagger skips and other bugs)? Yes. If they only did it once, I don't have evidence of them intentionally abusing the bug, but a self-report or multiple actions caught recorded would get a swift report. I've used this same self-report method against full-blown cheaters when they thought they were being tricky. (Skybilly is an example of a self-victimization as the result of a bug exploit, so I don't report someone victimizing themself. It still is illegal, but I feel the victim should always choose whether or not to 'press charges' so to speak.)
They've always been bannable, but some bugs you can't prove intent without multiple abuses, or a self-report.https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/E5DLQFQV0VNR/bugtechbannable.png
Why didn't one of the most popular characters with some of the most skins get killswitched for a difficult to fix bug?
I'm gunna assume $$$ to be demoralizing/realistic. As far as 'such a problem', there are 30+ Killers, probably less than 10% of people intentionally abused the bug, so it impacted roughly 1% of matches in some of the highest estimates. Less than 1% impact is a low priority bug in the scheme of things.
One thing to note about bug-tech is that it did not exist since launch. Blight had functional collision when he had the crotch height camera. Moving the camera up to a normal Killer height broke his collision, and the jury-rigged patchjob of the follow-up bump verification is what causing bug-tech to exist. Then it's 2.5 years instead of 3.5. Still more time than most people probably played the game nowadays.
Why should I be so negative and report every Blight I come across using this? There are people far worse than that who are actually worth the time. And as the Devs never posted it in the game itself, so I also guess a lot of people don't even know it's a bug (believe it or not, but there is only a small part of the community here in the forums). Before the era of the killswitched, they would post a warning in chat that abusing bug xxx was now officially bannable, which meant you could report everyone abusing it (it was a bug with legion's addons). I only report hackers and those who abused severe stuff like the locker/FL bug. I like to go against hug-tech. It's not that difficult to outplay if you know what you are doing. So again: why should I report people who brings me joy to the game? Theoretically you can also report every farming killer for "refusing to play normal". Do you also report those? If the answer is yes, then you are a very sorry soul.
Also afaik the Devs NEVER said anything about Wesker's hug-tech being a bug (also that already existed on the PTB. I did skinny Bert there by accident, which means hug-tech was also there but people didn't know it yet), so stop reporting people for that. They just enjoy the complexity of their gameplay.
And if that's not enough, we should all get together and ask the Devs to say us which techs are a bug and which aren't. So people can shut up about it for the rest of eternity.

Devs only killswitch for game breaking issues. They don't killswitch over non game breaking bugs.
Do I report them? No. The devs already said while it's an exploit, they aren't punishing people for abusing it and will eventually fix it. No point in reporting in that case.
Remember when survivors could exploit by bugging themselves into lockers making them completely immune to damage and being grabbed? Obviously cheating, and very game breaking. Even then, BHVR didn't do bans but instead killswitched the perks allowing the cheat. Generally, BHVR just has a habit of not punishing cheating unless it's tied to actual hacks. Some dev studios do it that way, while other studios ban even if it's cheating via bug exploits.
All because BVHR doesn't ban exploiters doesn't suddenly mean the bug being exploited should be considered fair play and left in. As a rule of thumb, they try to not killswitch unless absolutely necessary. An exploit not being killswitched doesnt mean it is acceptable, it just means it wasnt gamebreaking enough to warrant a killswitch. Their philosophy is to ban hack cheaters and allow exploiters to continue playing with the intent on eventually fixing the exploit. If the exploitbis bad enough, they step in with a killswitch.
So yeah, people have been exploiting that hug tech for a while, and BHVR has finally gotten around to fixing the exploit. Took a while, but they finally did it. What you have is a bunch of people abusing the exploit for so long that they have become dependant on it. Now that the exploit has been fixed, they are upset for having to play fairly.
So it can't be that bad then. So why do you complain?
And hug-tech on Blight has existed since his release btw. That was 3.5 years ago. I don't play Blight, but I am very capable of seeing the greater picture here, which you can't.
They remove Hug-tech, a lot of players will be pissed (similar to when Billy got Overheat) resulting in frustration and a lower number of total players. The removed Sky Billy (which would also be an exploit according to your argumentation) and other fun stuff, which made the game bland for many people (I guess some of them are the cheaters of today, as they want to have fun again).
In addition it is dangerous for the same reasons because other characters who use certain advanced techniques (like Oni, Wesker, Huntress) could get targeted as well in the future. I would not want that at all.
Removing depth to a character is unwise as this depth is what people like.
If you cannot see that at all, then I will not take the discussion further with you, because you are not worth my time then.

(This got merged into another Thread, I spent so long typing this only for it to be buried into another Thread… thanks.)
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think removing stuff like the "Hug Tech" is bad for the game.OTHER EXPLOITS WERE MADE MECHANICS…
In DBD, we've seen a long series of bugs and glitches become features, in fact, one of the easiest ones to point out was "Spinning," it was originally an exploit with the movement system that was going to be removed but was kept as a feature because the community loved it so much. It adds another layer of depth for Survivors that makes the game more interesting.
Overall, I feel as if removing stuff like this is overall a massive net negative for the game. The skill gap is reduced. The potential for both sides is limited. It makes the game less fun and dumbs it down.
OTHER GAMES INCORPORATE EXPLOITS AS MECHANICS AS WELL…
I come from many genres of games, I play a lot of variety. And with my experience in other games, I normally see it as a good idea to incorporate things that started as exploits but can turn into fun mechanics.
In Warframe, certain melee slide attacks would launch you far, and with the right button combinations, you could slide insanely fast; this was eventually removed, but Digital Extremes decided to add more movement mechanics in a similar light, where button combos make you move faster and reward skill, they kept the original idea alive but improved it by making it access to everyone regardless of their equipment.
In TF2, Rocket Jumping was based on a quirk with the Quake 2 engine, it gave various classes a new layer of depth and movement that lets players take advantage of their loadout to gain a tactical advantage. Furthermore, due to how it works, classes that do not have explosive weapons could benefit off of the enemies' weapons if they were skilled enough.
DBD COMP SCENE…
While the Comp Scene of DBD is vastly unpopular, this will have really awful affects for the Comp Scene of DBD.
Seeing how prominent Blight was, the Comp Scene relied on the Hug Tech to not only help with certain loops but it just outright made the Comp Scene more interest to watch and engage with. Bump Logic was, and is, still superior to Hug Tech'ing, but Hug Tech'ing benefited the Comp Scene but directing more eyes towards the high skill ceiling and fancy plays that both sides could make.
HUG TECH IS COUNTERABLE…
That being said, with the Comp Scene seeing a lot of people use the Hug Tech, a lot of counterplay has been developed for it. It's not like Hug Tech'ing is this uncounterable thing, it quite literally just creates more room for interesting plays from either side.
THIS EXTENDS BEYOND JUST THE HUG TECH…
Anytime we get a new "tech", are we just going to label it as an exploit and remove it?
Are we just going to dumb down the game for either side?
I fear that removing the Hug Tech is not good for the game as a whole, because it sets an awful idea going forwards, that skill expression must be removed merely because "it's not intended."
That instead of allowing room for more skill on either side, we must make the game as stale and boring as possible to cater to people who do not have the skill or might not understand the counterplay.
This isnt an issue that affects a single side.
I have to think of the pan in PUBG. It was bugged in a way that it was bullet proof, so you could carry a pan with you to give you a bit of inpenetrable armor on your butt (or your face if you held it in your hand). The Devs kept it as a feature because they thought it was funny and because the community liked it. Later they even made a target skin for it.
I also think that hugtech is OK, the only thing that annoys me is how often Blight has noodle arms.

An exploit is an exploit. It does not require a bannable offense to be in there. In no way is bans remotely tied to the definition of an exploit. You can make up your own definition all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that an exploit is abusing a bug for an advantage. A lot of exploits BHVR steps in and killswitches so players stop cheating with it, for example.
So did you report every Blight who did a Hug-tech?
Why didn't Blight get killswitched ever if it is such a problem?

8% Hindered.
Wesker is a Killer that already has a decent chase power to begin with, there are only niche exceptions where his power isnt good (mostly involving open spaces on Coldwind) but on most maps and areas in the game his power is exceptionally good.
He can even throw Survivors, which leads to situations where Wesker can not only take a health state of a Survivor but put them in an awful position which sometimes leads to double hits since the Survivor is unable to go anywhere before Wesker can recover from his power.
On top of all of this, he has infection that not only makes Survivors insta-down to his power but makes them 8% Hindered?
Every chase with Wesker boils down to:
- Loop for a bit.
- Eventually get hit with their power.
- Loop for a bit.
- Become 8% slower.
- Die because of Hindered.
Also, might I add, that being hooked does not remove infection either, it only cuts it to 50%, meaning that the Killer can easily just tunnel the Survivor off hook because the Survivor will be 8% Hindered on top of already going against a strong chase power.
Which turns into:
- Loop for a bit.
- Become 8% slower.
- Get hooked as a result of Hindered.
- Get unhooked and try to cleanse but I cant bc the Killer just returns to the hook.
- Repeat.
Im not opposing to the insta-down portion of his power since it gives Survivors a reason to cleanse infection but Im really trying to wrap my brain around the "necessary" addition for Hindered in his power?
To get fully infected in 1 chase you need 100s without addons after getting grabbed once (you get 20/100 when being grabbed and then gain 0.8c/s=100s till full infection). That is a long chase. If your team does gens that this should not be a problem. And -8% is doable if you know what you are doing, what is probably the case if that Wesker is still looping you when that happens as no good Killer will waste so much time with you.
I agree on the tunneling part though. A fair solution would be to reduce infection to 20/100 charges (which is the minimum for it to be visible on the HUD and on the character model), but don't remove it completely as it would remove a LOT of Weskers passive pressure with the sprays (no need to waste time with going to find a spray after getting unhooked) which can hurt him a lot more than we might think. Resetting infection to 20/100 instead of 60/100 would give you again 100s to loop the killer until you are slowed which is more time than common anti-tunnel perks stay active (DS and OTR). If Wesker instantly grabs you during BT after you got unhooked you would still have 75s to loop him until the -8% kick in.
VCD is insane for tunneling (it shortens the timer by 30%) and should be changed as it is actually more effective than the purple variant. I think added infection when actually getting dash hits is fine though as it rewards good power use.
-
I would have made it that if you are healthy, get the SB, if you are injured get healed over time, but without the SB and if you are in dying, you get both to get away.

There is a difference between techs that use standard intended game mechanics to their advantage and techs that exploit existing bugs that have not been fixed yet.
Hug tech is performed by exploited a bug in the collision of objects. Stuff like CJ tech is just a part of the game, using knowledge of a game mechanic where an object cannot be interacted with while in use and thus is perfectly fine. BHVR should allow for more key binding options to avoid prompt issues but it isn't a bug.
So no, not all techs need to be removed, but Blights hug tech should be removed since BHVR has always identified it as a bug they intended to fix. Blight players relying on this tech were just exploiting the bug until BHVR patched it and shouldn't cry about it removal.
I just wish that they would go through all the techs and say if they are a bug ior not just to clarify it for the rest of eternity. I am sick of the people accusing me of exploiting just because I did a window-tech, moon-dash as Piggy or Wesker's skinny bert and hug-tech.

They literally said it was. I know people hate facts, but come on, if the devs literally say it's a bug that is NOT intentional - enough to be warranted as needing a fix…then you can't argue that they never said that. If you need a definition, In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitch, or use elements of a game system in a manner not intended by the game's designers, in a way that gives an advantage to players using it.
If the devs say it is, and you say NUH UH, I don't know what to tell you.
An exploit is something that is bannable. They have never stated that abusing hug-tech is bannable, so it's no exploit. I know the devs say it's a bug, but let's just wait for the PTB what happens to blight.
I just hope that not more techs will be fixed, because they add to the depth of the gameplay. A lot of characters would be very clunky if you'd remove all the techs and survivor would just be bland.
-
@RpTheHotrod said:
Less cheating the better, I say. Hard pill to swallow, but exploiting a bug for a game advantage is always lame. Fix those bugs.

There is skill expression behind it, Wesker's hug techs are even harder to pull off. The average pub player will obviously lose no matter what but good survivors know how to counter it. Against a good Blight, it's obviously going to be harder to counter. All it takes is playing safe and smart lol.
While we're at it, lets patch crouch and pluto teching. These 2 techs negate hitboxes.I rarely had problems against Blight's Hug-tech. You just need to know where and when he's going to do it. I don't face many Wesker's who can do it as it is really difficult. I can do it myself but I am not playing him enough to be consistent. And you can also counter Wesker's hug-tech, what a surprise!
I also agree that crouch tech is worth looking into. I don't know what pluto tech is though.

Yeah make the gameplay unfair because we allow people to abuse an exploit for long enough that guarantees unfair hits and downs for their own amusement at the cost of the other side having next to no way to deal with it. Sure it will be great! /s
If you abuse an unintentional feature that can significantly increases your chances of winning the game more easily which doesn't allow for mind gaming or any intentional counterplay to mitigate it's effectiveness, then it is unfair.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3687306#Comment_3687306
Sorry but no, i don't respect people who abuse an exploit, who tries to excuse it's existence by calling it skill expression because it allows them to end chases more easily than what is intended and who also thinks it's something we should accept just because it's been in the game for so long now.
It doesn't matter how many copius argument people want to present in order to justify it's existence, it's an unintentional bug that tips the scale in the user's favor while screwing the other side over more, nothing more and nothing less, something even the devs realizes.
Oh, you are that kind of person.
So if I continue this conversation, you will continue telling me how wrong I am without even trying to understand my point.
Sorry, but I am tired of wasting any more time with you.

You can do something about hug-tech. Knowing how and on which tiles it works helps a lot with countering it.

You're obsessed with "Killers need to be bad to get challenges done". This fixation is so bizarre. You do realise good Killers are more aware of their time restraints than other players are. Meaning baits and mind games work against them since they know they need to get a hit quickly, obviously not every bait will work, but in a tile that they need to hit or the chase gets prolonged, the pressure will make them go for hits that could catch a Survivor that's not expecting it out (eg at a pallet that they are predicting will be camped or at a window they're expecting a panicked vault at). So, just like my point from the last reply, these challenges can be achieved against ANY SKILL LEVEL. It's as that people are constantly fixating on the "but this never happens", it does, and smart Survivors know this. So yes, if people actually put some intelligent thought behind their approach to challenges, and the match their playing for it in, they should have an easier time of it.
Are you not listening to what I'm saying, everything I'm talking about should clue you in that I don't play this game at a low level and need to rely on luck to do a challenge like this. Of course players are gonna get it quick against Killers who whiff every match for no good reason or don't have the game awareness to know what perks they're going against etc. But what I said above covers this stuff.
You're tying me saying this challenge is easy to other ones. It's a stretched out argument and it doesn't work. I mean, one would expect that a player trying to get a challenge done would actively go for it. So in an unhook challenge, you'd think if they wanted it done badly they would linger nearby to make sure they're the first one there. Or use Kindred to see whether it's worth rushing in to get it based on their teammates location. So it isn't really necessary to see what your teammates are trying to do, as ultimately, it shouldn't really matter to the grand picture most of the time. Outlier matches aren't worth latching on to. Survivors already have so much intel and stuff to see on the HUD, it'd be crazy to flood it with every detail. Talk about hand holding.
And if you thought I am a noob then you are wrong. I play on a level where you basically only see Nurse, Blight, Wesker and maybe Billy, Spirit and Huntress. And look at that: Only one of those does regular M1 hits. No halfway decent Nurse or Huntress will ever M1 you. On mid-range MMR this looks a lot different, because you encounter more killers who naturally M1 or where the player is average with M2 killers and M1s more often, making it easier. And btw: if the killer swings while you stun them, it does not count. Also making them miss during the event right now is even more difficult, because they have a longer lunge in the blood circles.
You seem to be obsessed with "you just complain for no reason" and "it's hard because you are too dumb to do it right".
I have given you the reason why i think this challenge should be toned down a bit, or changed in a way that you only need to evade any attack. I am tired of wasting my time with you as I think I made my point clear enough.
This will be my last word to you about this.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3685949#Comment_3685949
We're just going in circles. There was a time where I would agree that a lot of Survivor challenges are luck based or dependent on how the Killer plays and should be changed. But the more I see people complaining about them, the more I see why Survivor challenges are designed how they are. Survivor gameplay is the most boring thing in DBD. When you're not interacting with the killer it's just sat on a gen for 90 seconds. These challenges make it so you do need to go around doing stuff that you wouldn't normally do, triggering situations that wouldn't typically occur often.
With this challenge, however, it's not crazy out of the realm of typical gameplay for Survivors. You can have a Killer whiff at ANY SKILL LEVEL. As long as you put yourself in those situations you can get the challenge completed relatively easy. I get it that it took you ages to get it done, but that's your individual experience (shared by others of course) but my individual experience was that I knew exactly what I wanted to use to help get it, and I did that playstyle in the match and got it very quickly. (Also an experience shared by others)
As far as Survivor challenges go, with the wackier ones, this one is actually piss easy. Nothing will change my mind of that, because my experience validates me, and other people struggling with it simply just needed to be smarter with it tbh
I also used certain perks. It's not the first of those challenges I do. I always try to get challenges done ASAP because they usually only annoy me (like "hide in the TR for 120s without getting found"). I have a semi aggressive playstyle, but nothing changes the fact that I cannot do challenges well where the killer needs to chase me. BECAUSE THEY DON'T. It's like I don't exist. If they chase me, they do it for a bit, get stunned multiple times and then leave and ignore me for the rest of the match. Stalking other survivors then just to get the challenge is dumb. Because all that time I'm doing nothing.
So you say, just because you were lucky, others "need to be smarter"? What if I had that baby killer in my first match when I tried it? Super ez? A friend of mine got really lucky today with that stupid No Mither challenge from Tome 11 (escape with only No Mither). We had a Plague who did not realized he had the perk and nothing else. I remember needing a lot of tries for that as well, because killers just tunneled you out, as they knew you had nothing to use to counter it. Is it ez, because he got it pretty easily? No.
My main problem is that we also do not know what other survivors have to do as quests. If there is a survivor only doing totems for a challenge, I can accept that and maybe help a bit. But only seeing that one Claudette only doing bones can be frustrating if you don't know. Same with unhook challenges. Such information should probably only be available when hitting ESC during a match to avoid lobby shopping.

There is a vulnerability, but it's the same vulnerability that causes cheats to be possible, doubt they will be able to truly fix it unless they overhaul a ton of stuff.
That's why I don't even bother with Anon mode. The cheaters find out what they want either way. So let them see my 7k hrs and that I am a Wesker/Jeff and Chris main. I don't care.

Enlighten me then, what's the real problem?
The real problem?
That I should not need 20+ matches to finally be "lucky" to get an inexperienced killer who should not even play against me, so I get a challenge done. That challenges should only depend on YOUR actions and not the killer's as well. Almost all killer challenges only depend on your skill as killer and don't need the survivors to "mess up". You don't need a specific build to hit people from 10m away as Slinger for example. That's totally on you.

The build boosts the likelihood of getting it regardless of how the match plays out. It does not require throwing in order to get it.
I'm seriously baffled that people are struggling with this challenge.
My usual build: Object, Adre, OTR and WoO.
Without Object I will not get chased ever. Killers IGNORE ME. And no, I will not tbag or click at them so they finally do.
I will not change my build for mediocre perks that may not even work only to get sweaty Blights and Nurses in return.
Maybe you don't understand what the real problem is.
PS: I finally got it against a Baby Oni who swung at everything after 5 killers left the lobby beforehand.

If she'd been able to see your perks, she would have ignored them and you'd be bemoaning the solo queue devil instead. People are going to play how they want regardless of the information at hand.
Which is why soloq is so bad.

And like I said, it isn't solely about Killers making mistakes. Whiffs happen a lot more than you think, in common situations even against the better Killers. There'll be times where they have to swing at a vault or a pallet in order to desperately get a down or hit because of the pressure of the other Survivors. There will also be times where they pick up a Survivor in a pallet but you cannot get the save anyway, but they'll swing out of the pallet, if you're nearby that's one whiff. There will also be times where they need to hit you when carrying to a hook because they may be greeding a Pain Res and if you bait it they'll whiff.
It isn't about luck or going against bad enough Killers. Nor do you have to throw the match in order to get it. I and many others have got this on our first or second attempt because we were smart in how we approached it in the first place.
What have you been doing in order to get this challenge done?
I still need to throw all those matches to stalk a killer chasing another survivor to get this.
It needs a specific build for this specific quest which will not help you if you are not able to do what you want to.

We cannot ever know actual numbers for the consoles, but it's like 70% or so, and the remaining 30% is Steam and Epic and Windows combined. Last I heard the PlayStations outnumber Steam for instance.
I'd like to see surv perks added in game, probably on the screen that shows pings & offerings maybe. That way teams would at least know Deliverance or Unbreakable or Head On are in play, and they can act more intelligently. In the lobby would lead to nasty dodging issues, and forget about doing adepts and such.
I see the problems with it. Only showing key perks might be to much effort for little gain as it would need to change with buffs and nerfs.
But I agree that showing only key perks could be the middle ground.
Just yesterday I was doing the event challenge "unhook 8 survivors". I brought We'll Make It and even BT to ensure safety even if killers come back to tunnel. Guess what happened: A Meg without any perks which activate upon unhook also tried to get every unhook (I think she had the same quest) resulting in a very inefficient match. It happens even more if you use Deli.

You both make it sound like Killers never make mistakes. If you put them in a situation where they have to commit to an attack then you can get progress. Using a build that puts the Killer in those situations more than usual, of course you're more likely to get the challenge completed. Jesus, some people just like complaining about everything just to get attention.
I'm not seeking attention, I just point out that this challenge has become harder to complete over the time because certain mechanics were changed. The Devs might not even realize this because most of these challenges are "randomly pulled out of a pool". The "evade X basic attacks" challenge has existed for ages. I think it was added with the first David tome.
If you cannot accept my opinion and that it is different from yours, that is your problem.
As @anarchy753 said: Success with this challenge is not only tied to you but also the killer. You can use perks like MFT, Hope, Dark Theory, Breakout etc all you want. It does not matter if the killer does not make 3 mistakes. I got 2 whiffs many times, but not a 3rd. If the killer does not chase you in the first place or has Agitation (which happens a lot) you can try all you want.

adre, wOO, noed, distortion, sprint and lithe
they are crutch perks and it makes people win the game they are not supposed to win.
Same I could say for UW, Pop, PR, GE, NWO...
Distortion is complicated. It hides that specific person, but by doing so the killer will naturally choose people they can see. And that are usually people who have already been hooked, resulting in early dead teammates because one (or 2) survivors just sit there with 0 hooks.

Then killer can have a increase chance to 50% instead, it would take alot of commitment in throwing extra map offerings on the survivor end to counter it. Plus, it would be more incentives to used the Anti map offering by the survivor to counter it.
Still the same problem.
"A lot of effort" is just called a 4man swf or a lobby where all can chat. It's not that hard.
Therefore, no stacking. And the Sacrificial Ward should bounce if there are no map offerings as well. (same goes for map offerings if there is a ward)
In addition a Ward should also prevent any map from the offering(s) to be selected randomly. There is nothing worse than countering Eyrie of Crows with a Ward only to have it pop up randomly.....

Something that most of the players don't even see? And they've said many times they have no plans to add it to the consoles either. We need something else.
"most players"? Is that still true with Epic and Windows store? Where is the data?
I don't care if chat is for PC only. McCote said that "they should not see each others perks", but as you can do it in game, I don't see why it should not be implemented for all. Usually console players are all up for the "equality".

It's not really a throw, coz you can actually get them off their shoulders in the process.
The point is, it's not as difficult as every complaining about it makes out. Whiffing at windows and pallets counts it too. Just use perks that boost the likelihood hood of whiffs happening naturally:
- Breakout
- Resilience
- Boon: Dark Theory
- Dramaturgy
- Lithe
- Sprint Burst
- Background Player
- Balanced Landing
- Made For This
- Blood Pact
These all give that edge in a chase that can increase the odds of a whiff happening. Also, you can do "techs" to bait a whiff:
- Window Fake
- FOV tech
- Dumb tech
- Tease at a window
- 360
- Corner tech
Don't you think I already tried that?
Killer's don't swing at me. They don't even chase me long enough because they realize they waste time with me. Or I get M2 killers who make me wish I had my standard build....
You were lucky. That's it.
And there is no denying that the challenge got harder and harder over time without compensation.

Not sure who thought double pallets was a good idea again after the mess they were in early dbd. Must be someone who is new.
If you look closer at the tile you took a screenshot of, you will see that this is well mindgamable. One pallet only has a tiny tree on one side. I did not have a problem with it so far.

Most of the playerbase is on the consoles, who cannot use the lobby chat.
My point still stands. It s not that it is not already possible in game.

Map offerings. Pretty much gives one side, especially survivors sided; a straight up advantage, in being able to get their choosen map and 100% used their build at their maximum potionial and efficiency in those maps guarantee. It makes SWF with stack perk builds for that map impossible to beat, and could put the other side in a not favorable situation.(I had a game one time, in which the Survivors send me to RPD as Huntress or Hillbilly; and I simply couldn't down as effectively with the abundance of windows and strong pallets next to each other.)
I say Map Offerings should no longer give you 100% per Offering, and should give you like a increase chance to go there; like 25% per map offering; all four survivor must be able to used it together in order to go there 100%, as well as all lobby members should be able to see any offerings before the match starts. Also, Buff that map offerings canceling offering, to be able to be actually capable of canceling any map offering, regardless if all 4 players used the same Offering or not.
No. Because then survivors can still always outclass any map offering the killer could use if you put all at 25%. Offerings should only be usable once per realm per match.
-
Please make these challenges also work with M2 hits and canceled hits during a pallet stun. I would have gotten it 10x over if it would count M2 hits or hits which are interrupted by a stun.
How is it, that this challenge still exist when everything that made it bearable was either removed or nerfed? No DH to make them miss and Nurse only does M2s now.
Also most killers nowadays only do M2s, making at even harder as you need a true M1 killer to really have a chance doing it. These are Trapper, Wraith, Myers, Doc, Hag, Freddy, (Pig), Clown, Spirit, GF, Slinger, PH, SM.
Even trying Breakout does not help, as most killers know what you are doing and won't swing at all.
-
@_Onyx_ said:
Put Breakout on and bait the swings when they get near you. It's really easy
That's still throwing the game as it forces you to stalk the survivor who is getting chased.
And a killer who actually swings at you, which is no guarantee. In my last 10 matches I had only M2 killers and none of those swung during carrying.

Knowing the history of double pallets and there being a restriction to minimum spawn distances that is violated here, I don't think so.
Also, the devs acknowledged this as a bug, since it's under review currently.
Pallets aren't meant to spawn this close together, new map tile or not. It's supposed to be a spot in which either the left or the right pallet can spawn, to give it some randomness, but not both at the same time.
The Devs actually mentioned that this map has new map tiles with 2 pallets. They use it as an experiment.
I also reported this during the PTB and they said it is intentional.
PS: "Under Review" is the normal state in which New posts are put to.

This is a new map tile

Did they finish it when Grim Embrace triggered and blocked all the gens?

Cote already said in a recent interview that we don't need to see each others perks. Which honestly is bad. But what can you do. It just is what it is.
That's dumb. In a full PC lobby everyone could quickly tell all others through chat. But the language barrier and having no time are probably reasons why people don't do it.

@H2H said:
Bare minimum? Map seeds, spectator free cam
Beyond that: being able to tweak things like # of gens spawned, # of gens needed to complete, # of totems, # of pallets, # of chests, basement on/off toggle, bloodlust on/off toggle for each level, terror radius toggle, lullaby toggle, perk limiters (e.g. free for all vs. limited # per) and perk bans
Yes, put totems to max so I can learn the spawns on a new map

Yes.

I have the game on playstation, and the game is so dark that some maps are straight up unplayable because it is almost pitch black, that I legit cannot even see what is even in front of me. PC players have night vision compared to console players as I have the game on PC too. I cannot play on Greenville square, silent hill, yamaoka state and autohaven wreckers at all because those maps are almost pitch black. It's not my tv as other games do not have this brightness issues. It's unfair already that we have to play against PC users using reshaders to cheat by removing shadows. Either make the maps brighter or increase the brightness on console. Or, add console only crossplay
May sound dumb, but have you cranked up brightness on your TV to the max?
I know that I (even though I am on PC) have problems on Autoheaven for similar reasons but I can mitigate them by using my GPU's software. (I don't use those ulta ridiculous filters though).
This still does not justify console only crossplay.
-
They have it on mobile for eternity. I don't know why they haven't implemented it yet. It doesn't give buffs to swf, it just makes solo and duo less miserable. Also it allows cross-platform communication. Even if I would text my build into chat, console players still can't read it nor react to it.

Last anniversary, 5x Terrormisus =535% BP +MM bonus. I got 200-300k every match.
The 40k I get now on survivor (65k on killer) are a joke in comparison.

@Leidenschaft90 said:
It seems that the new event offering cancels all other BP offerings. And in the devstream they literally said no other event will guarantee you the amount of BP as the Blood Moon Event does xD.
For now I don't even come close to the 300k per match during 7th year anniversary. I am at around 40k per match now.
