i cant believe there are still people who dont read the post fully. i said hindered while being tunnel off hook since u get infected 50% off hook then seconds later you are slow while being tunneled. but oh well some people never change

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3559224#Comment_3559224

you give the vibe of a wesker who relly on the hindered tunneling wesker meta. ive seen too often to not think you are of them. just by the fact you refuse to agree with a basic thing. being slowed while tunneled off hook is a big nono.... i guess you are the reason we are making this post in the first place. even @Devil_hit11 agrees with the tunneling slow down part

I only tunnel when necessary. Regardless of which killer we are talking about.

The only thing I am really addicted to on Wesker is Unicorn Medallion and maybe Bamboozle because I haven't mastered hug-tech yet.

And no, I am not the "meta tunnel Wesker" you think I am. I am just not stupid. If a recently unhooked survivor runs into my face I take that as an invitation to chase them. If they were not cleansed directly or ran away, THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM not mine. I am not babysitting survivors so they have a great time only for them to butt-dance in the exit.

If we are talking about tunneling in general, I am completely with you that something must change. That there must be an incentive for killers to go for different targets and not the same over and over again. Some killers have it easier to tunnel than others. Wesker still needs to burn through all defences (PH does not, but nobody complains lol), so what is your issue here? Clown slows you for 15% when he spams bottles, Huntress just hits you from afar, Blight is Blight and Nurse does not care. What about them? What about Myers using TS after you got unhooked? All of this sucks.

Do us all a favor and maybe change your strategy when facing a Wesker. Don't cleanse when he is nearby. Believe me, you will get his attention. Cleanse first, heal after. You can take a can with you you know? Or do you need your item so desperately that you don't have time to drop the can for 5s? The more I read your post the more I believe YOU should maybe change tactics.

And if you did actually read my posts to this topic you would know that I would be OK with resetting infection on hooking to 1/100 charges. That would give you 90s of time until you get slowed which is more than any anti tunnel perk gives you.

And should I know that Devilhit guy? Doesn't ring a bell. Are they a streamer by any chance? Because anyone can claim they are "one of the best" Wesker players.

You assume I play on PC which I don't. I'm sick of people bashing me so I usually avoid mentioning that I play on the Switch but I'm telling you to so you will stop defending that part. Not everyone can record gameplay like they want. If more then one person say that it is happening should be enough for them to look into it eventually and if someone then offers recorded evidence it might push it up on the list.

That was nothing against you. A friend of mine plays on Switch too.

I wasn't sure about consoles and recording so I said that I don't know.

My point still stays that there should be a replay function similar to how WOT or PUBG have them, so you have evidence if something goes wrong or simply to get better yourself because you can watch the footage from the other perspective.

when you are hindered against wesker there is no chase. you are dead

since when is wesker power bad in chase and survivor is in control ? are playing the same game here or you have like 100 hours and you think trapper is op. just to make sure i know who i am talking to about this.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3559163#Comment_3559163

saying you dont mind being chased while hindred is like saying you enjoy facing wesker wesker while being hindered by a buffed clown bottle all the time. let that sink in

FYI: i dont know why is this even a debate. a wesker can tunnel a person with pain res pop deadlock and still not lose any gens. add to that the tunneled person is 8%hindered seconds after hook. weker is fine, hindered while being tunneled is not. if you ignore the hindered and do gens i blame the survivor but not when being tunneled

One additional thing that came to my mind:

There is chase against Wesker when hindred, it s just a lot more difficult, you have to pay attention and you need to know what you are doing. It rewards high skill play.

The average Wesker who did not spend 100hrs into perfecting hug-tech on him (which is the majority of Wesker players) will still struggle with certain loops and configurations where the survivor has all the control during the chase. I do that many times myself. And I know that because I am a Wesker main myself and have not perfected hug-tech to help me during these cases.

    @TheDavidKingMain said:

I agree, even the best wesker players will tell you that the infection mechanic is too oppressive. Infection should be reduced to like 5% hindered and should not go up in chase.

Which "best Wesker players" say this? Please give me names.

The only thing I know of is that it should be reduced after getting hooked, but everything else? No. Base infection takes 90s to complete if I am not mistaken. If you have that time after getting unhooked the killer will properly loose gens along the way anyway if he chases you for the whole duration. So why should it be stopped during chase? Makes no sense.

Wesker has one of the best chase powers in the game ON TOP of hindered. The wesker has to be pretty bad to not get a quick down when the survivor is fully infected.

Depends on the skill level of that Wesker and the map. Good luck getting anything done on MacMillan's round rock loops or garbage tile filler loops without doing precise rebounds or even hug-techs. And the latter is the high-end of his abilities. Most people can't do that consistently and struggle with loops like this if they are run well. I did that many times against average Weskers. Like I said above: you need to know what you are doing.

    Wesker: 8% hindred after 90s

Clown: 15% hindred basekit and 19% with the addon.

    Let that sink in.

FYI: A PH can tunnel and camp with pain res, pop, deadlock and hardly loose a gen and instant getting a tunneled person into the next stage via a cage ignoring any anti-tunnel options there are. PH is fine while getting tunneled while tormented is not. If they step in goo and not go around, blame the survivor, but not if they are tunneled.

i agree. wesker is a fun killer to face untill the hindred kicks in. then he is not so fun anymore

I don't have much problems looping him while being hindred. And MFT is such a popular perk too which cuts the 8% to 5.

You should be punished for not cleansing. Period. And if he chases you for all that time he loses gens anyway.

Does it suck to get tunneled? Yes. Do we need to do something about it? Yes. Do we need to nerf Wesker because of it specifically? No.

I'm not disputing that but they can't expect non streamers to record hours of game play it is unrealistic.

I am also not a streamer, I just use the pre-installed function of windows' Xbox game bar to record my stuff while playing. It only keeps the last 10min so if something is fishy and I only realize it later I can press some buttons and I have it for the report. You can do the same if you prefer to do it directly via your Nvidia or AMD GPU. I don't know about consoles though.

And I am very aware of the fact that older systems can't handle this additional load, similar to my own old pc.

Therefore I am one of the people who actively want a replay system to be implemented into dbd. It would help so many people.

  • This explains why it felt so weird when I played him for a daily a few days ago.

    I thought I missed a change.

  • Why does everyone complain about tunneling Wesker when a tunneling PH is worse?

Don't understand me wrong, I dispise tunneling as much as you do, but wouldn't it be best if there was something done against tunneling in GENERAL instead of nerfing stuff?

If you need to nerf the infection after an unhook, it should just go to 1 charge, so it takes the whole duration until full.

Thank you I was getting gaslit they were saying this was a latency issue on my end when it wasn't. They need to look at the servers and bring back hit validations and pallet validations. I'm sick of same side pallet stuns and getting hit after hearing them getting stunned through the pallet. Also not realistic to ask people to record their games for proof. What am I supposed to do jury rig my cell phone to record long game play?

The recording part is to ensure that your claims are legit.

  • I would add that traps should be active once they are on your head. Why? People are really good at 99ing gens all the time. Even with Gen slowdown, they just 99 them again and then hidevuntil their mate has done the boxes.

One time I was looking at 4 99ed gens while 1 was looking through boxes....

  • @ArthurVeloso said:

This perk is absolutely useless in comparison to what it was. I just want to be able to play a game with my favorite characters (Bill and Jane) without being audible across the map. There is no reason for making this perk useless while being exhausted because there are other perks that do a better job and are basically a jack of all trades (Off the Record). Iron will was one of my favorite perks because I could make a full injured build with an exhaustion perk to take me away from danger and allowing me to be more stealth. Now, all Jake’s stealth perks are pointless of existing in this game anymore. Iron will is one of them, and Calm Spirit is beyond useless bc of the punitive downside that was not requested by absolutely nobody on this forum.

With that being said, bring back the old days mission to have a hide and seek play-style viable. Bring back the perks that we used to love and were not a problem for the game itself. Devs revise your perk changes because many of your decision have been proven questionable so far.

When they nerfed IW I made a post about how bad this change is for certain characters as not all characters have the same volume when injured.

The Devs said that they want to level out all the screams, but they didn't so far....

Just look on Twitch at regular players that are in SWF and on comms. You'll quickly see they usually aren't that great and 99% of their chatter while playing isn't even about the match they are in. Most aren't these elite squads calling out every move of the killer.

True. Why I play with my friend(s) we usually talk about upcoming updates or stuff that happens in the world or during one of our lectures. We make jokes, laugh and just spend time together.

Yes we also tell each other which perks the killer has or where he goes but we also tell each other what the others are doing.

And I can't remember the times when we were 3 people that the random dude 3gen'ed us and lost us the match because they did not think through.

He doesn't overperform because the top performing 6000+ hour streamers are not representative of the DBD community at all.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3557286#Comment_3557286

Years ago, a BHVR dev tried for months to fix Blight's collision issues, and failed. Blight might need an entire code rework in order to fix his collision issues. Hug Tech is also the result of a bugfix to the M2 bug that happened when the secondary collision system was created, and if Hug Tech is removed than the M2 bug might start happening again.

There are people like me with over 6.5k hrs who don't play blight regularly. And even people who are very good at him do not need to be streamers.

    He is overperforming.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3556741#Comment_3556741

Blight doesn’t over perform on average, and he doesn’t over perform at the top 5%. Those are the stats that matter.

The people with super high win streaks, are like the top 0.00001% of the players. That’s not representative of the player base at all, and the game should not be balanced around them.

He does not "overperform" because he has the Nurse-kill-rate problem (according to which Nurse needs buffs).

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3556504#Comment_3556504

Blight doesn’t overperform, and he has a lot of useable addons, so either 1) the addons are strong, but Blight is addon dependent, or 2) the addons aren’t as strong as you think they are, and Blight isn’t addon dependent.

This is like how a bunch of people claimed Nurse wasn’t addon dependent, but then her range and recharge addons got removed, and now she’s absolute trash for many players, because it turns out that she was very addon dependent for many people. She still might be very high in tier lists for 6,000+ hour competitive players, but for the majority of players, they’d have a higher win rate with someone else.

And Wesker’s a terrible example for good addons. The fact that I don’t ever see people on these forums complain about his addons, shows that all his addons are kind of weak. We have so many people on these forums that like to over exaggerate about killers or survivors, that when there’s zero complaints of something, then it’s not very good.

And Pyramid head will never be OP, as long as his M2 power is as bad as it currently is. Why would I want to pick a killer whose power is mostly only useful on animation-locked survivors, when I could pick someone like Wesker, whose power is useful even when survivors have full mobility to dodge?

Blight is not addon dependent, his addons only amplify his power I such ways it gets harder and harder for the average survivor to do something against.

Take Ring for example. You need to be careful not to get hit via his power or have a way out if you do. Adre Vial is similar but you have to actually count the rushes. It's like facing 5-blink Nurse back in the day.

Nurse is not trash, a lot of people just played her because she gave you ez wins with the right addons (same as blight now). Those people left her because they actually need to do something now. You can still destroy survivors with her. She even got easier for the average player because they made the frame perfect hit after blink basekit.

Wesker's addons are well designed BECAUSE people do not complain. I get the impression that you never or rarely ever played Wesker in the fist place. Sure he has bad addons like walkie talkie, but even those have a purpose.

PH is difficult on a technical level. His M2 is actually quite good if you know how.

BTW you can link Q and E to turning. Try it out and I think you'll call it an exploit as well. A lot of blights have it linked.

It's clear the game was not designed with the ability for you to be able to speak to others. If you were then there would be voice coms. So a group with coms is next to impossible to beat for an average player. I think an option to opt out of these groups would be nice. If you have to wait longer to play with your friends then so be it. Even some really good killers can't beat a half way decent SFW group. Its tiring when you are forced to play super sweaty when you play against groups who think they are gonna enter a pro league or something.

As your idea would only leave soloq... Have fun waiting 20min for one match of a good solo team that still destroys you.

And yes, I know what I'm talking about.

Opting out of ANON would provide far more value. Anon players tend to play in the most antisocial methods because they think they can get away with it, and they can. // i was just going to fast vault in killer shack and got an inch too close to the gen before hitting the button and this gave the killer enough time to down me lol

I don't use a controller, so I didn't know about that. But this also sounds bad.

  • The main problem controller users have with dbd is the keybinds. Most famous offender: pallet drop vs. healing.

This... I work full time and I completed mine ages ago... with like a month to spare.

The battlepass tends to be pretty worth it, as the sheer volume of cosmetics, that have no advantage gameplay wise for players who don't take the premium option, that you get for a rather small investment which refunds itself via the battlepass itself...

All that makes it a pretty good deal to my mind.... One of the better battlepasses in the business tbh.

The only thing I do not like is that you can't do multiple challenges at once, which would result in much more matches being less stressful.

To make up for this the challenges would need to be longer.

  • @IHSGames said:

So with majority it games having battlepasses, including DBD's Rifts, usually adding them to produce more profits, comes an issue where they make it without thinking about the full details on how a battlepass should work so they end up being very unsatisfying to complete. DBD is no acception

The Rift is fairly simple. You either play the game and/or do challenges to level up. But the issue is how tedious it is to grind for it. Playing multiple games to upgrade 1 TIER is not fun. Especially since they are 70 levels not including the deep rift. The challenges don't make it better. You get so little Rift fragments to go up a little despite how difficult or game throwing a challenge would be. Some challenges even include perks and characters you might not own so you might have to pay money just to complete 1 archive page. Its just too much. And if youre someone with a full time job such as myself, you can barely invest time in to complete it.

Whats worse is that BVHR know this so they make it to where you can buy Rift Fragments with Auric Cells. Basically spending money just to level up with for people who can barely even get 1 page of the rift done before its over is extemely predatory. I understand BHVR is a business but if I, a average DBD player cant complete a rift, why bother even spending money on it? Thats BHVR losing money.

So, how do you fix the Rift?

    1. Good plays = Good results: What do I mean? Well, lets just say while playing a normal match, and youre able to gain alot of boldness points via chases as Survivor or something of the sort, the game rewards you with slightly more Rift fragments as a way of congratulating you for doing some good plays to get such an achievement.

    2. Allow players to choose their own Rift Tier: Fortnite gives you the ability to unlock certain skins and stuff throughout the battle pass just as long as you have the right amount of Battle Stars, meaning if you dont want a certain skin or such, youre not forced to waste Battle Stars on other skins before it to get it. It should be the same for DBD. Sometimes, I dont always want the charms but theyre usually before the skin I want so its just an extra grind for no reason that couldve been saved if I had a chance to choose what I want to spend my Rift Fragment points on.

    3. The more challenging the challenge, the more Rift Fragments you get: The Rift Archivr challenges usually have challenges that are hard to complete in 1 go, resulting in lost time you couldve used in other challenges to gain more rift fragments. And youre usually forced to do that challenge to progress to the other ones. If those hard challenges reward players with more rift fragments than the usual 10, it would make players more incentivized to complete it because theyre a worthy reward to do so.

The Rift is an interestung concept, but for average players, its a nightmare. So hopefully these ideas can help BVHR make the Rift less daunting allowing players to complete it and buy more of them.

How often do you play? I had never problems completing the rift.

  • They have, as we call it in German: Verschlimmbessert. (lit. made it worse-better)

  • I mean when you actually slug.

When 7.3.0 patch goes live, killer's only option are slugging the survivors. The new AHC mechanic is disgusting and SWF are already abusing it to the fullest. 2 floors are impossible to play on without being baited to the hooked survivor beneath or above you. When I play survivor, killers heavily slug me. The new meta is going to be all about anti-slug perks with a range of perk options to choose from like unbreakable, buckle up + FTP, soul guard, no mither, tenacity, etc.

This patch needs to be looked at ASAP. Both roles are going to play less in time without drastic changes made to the new patch, and this game will be losing fans and casuals alike out of complete boredom and unsatisfied results.

You know that if a survivor beats you to the hook, the meter will stop? So I don't understand your argument here.

Proxy camping is still viable as the meter's range is 16m from the hook. So it's not a big deal unless you liked to face camp with Bubba a lot.

So, the problem are not the toolboxes adding too much to the base progression, the problem is not two or more survivors spawning in one generator, the problem is and always have being the base progression of two or more survivors allowing them to do one gen in at least 37 seconds less by default

Your post is the equivalent of saying 2+2=4, anyone who disagrees with me disagrees with math.

Yeah, those are the numbers, but your conclusion still doesn't make any sense. The survivors are still going slower working together then they would if they were split up.

Why is ~53 seconds somehow unreasonable to do a gen when it is taking two of the survivors time? They are losing roughly 8 seconds if they hadn't been split up.

Your argument is based on the presumption that anyone looking at the numbers would agree its a problem, but they're not. Survivors make a trade off by working together on a gen, less overall progress, easier to be interrupted, but increase the chance to finish it before a regression.

I keep hearing this, but people that say it seems to forget that a killer can only chase one of you, letting the other one free to keep repairing the gen.

And if they were split up, one of those people never would have even needed to get off the gen.

I cannot break a completed Gen. Therefore, although not as efficient, survivors who group up can be a danger if they manage to finish that Gen before I can interrupt it.

If you are unlucky in the start 1-2 Gens pop before you are even there.

And even if you get to that Gen, one survivor will be chased while the other(s) complete the Gen in your face unless you are Blight or Nurse and the chase only takes 10s.

Before the PT nerf it was very important to sniff out the players who had this perk so that gens would not fly.

  • So you can lobby shop yourself? What do you think will happen?

High prestige Survivors will dodge lobbies with low prestige survivors, especially if these are the basekit ones.

    Do you want that?

Or do you just want something you can show off?

It will be still visible after the match btw.

That's garbage. I don't want to be part of this test, but I don't have a choice in the matter so my games get to be made significantly worse and I get no say in it.

How get your games worse with it? Mine only improved.

Lately it's becoming too common to see survivors running perks like Sole Survivor or some "just stealth" combos and avoid doing anything team oriented and just waiting for the whole team to die and get hatch/door with opening speed builds. In my opinion this is more of a Solo Q destroyer than any "OP Killer" blablabla thing that could be in the game at any point.

I'll never mind dying as a survivor if that means my team is doing productive things and not just hiding because they just care about the fact of "escaping" because MMR this, MMR that, or some silly "streak" (same works for "winning streaks" as killer, another stupid trend created by content creators that people try to copycat and adds 0 to the table for anybody) that nobody really gets impressed by because this game is as important in a competitive scene as NintenDogs or Cooking Mama could be.

The only frustrating thing about dying in this game should be when your team does nothing during the whole time of you getting focused, but some players do get frustrated because they don't get the chance to get any points in any field other than chase if they get tunneled, gens if their team mates are getting camped with an insta down ability killer, and so on. For this, I suggest to rework the whole system of bloodpoints and pips for survivor, making it team based, where all survivors receive the same amount of bloodpoints and get evaluated as a team.

It's really important to push the survivor role to a team oriented mindset in Solo Q, and I feel personally that it's very much lacking of that as time goes by since people only think "I have to escape, ME! if the rest dies I don't care because I care about MY super important for my daily life MMR in the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight and MY points for escaping" (when you literally can easily get more points easier if you work on several fields, and not only survival). Since the bloodpoints (and pips, exp, etc.) are added once the trial ends, just add them to the account of the survivors once the match finishes, so they can leave the lobby if they already died in the trial. It's really not that hard to make improvements to make the game more altruistic and less selfish.

Please, the latest Solo Q improvements have been pretty good (HUD, yada yada yada), now please... Think about reworking the scoring system. I am against MMR in this game, but since apparently it's going to stay, at least make the survivor MMR a team based MMR, since the killer one goes up and down regarding how many people escape or die, make the survivor one go up and down based on how many team mates die or escape too, not only themselves.

There are challenges in the archive where you need to get hatch or 3 Unbroken Emblems.

What you describe is one way of doing that.

If you play on EU beware of a Huntress teleporting and finishing the match in 10 seconds! Been popular lately

That exactly happened but with Spirit. And I am on EU.

I haven't played that much on the map yet to notice it, but it might as well be like that. Gen spread is really problematic these days, even though most killers don't play into it, the survivors sometimes just brainlessly do one gen after another without thinking about the possibility of a 3 gen.

I found out the hard way during a Chess Merchant match.

And then I checked it in custom with bots.

Don't forget the ridiculously overpowered main building with basically 3 really good windows and a god pallet.

Yeah. I can loop killers there for ages.

  • @Archol123 said:

For some reason they always go for overly safe main buildings basically on every map and then depending on what map we're looking at, it is either like Saloon, where there is not much more on the map to use, with an easy to hold 3 gen in the outskirts or Garden of Joy with one entire side of the map being a connected loop.

At least for now on Aliens map I didn't find the main building to be overly strong, but then again people might just not have figured out how to run it properly.

Overall it is really ridiculous that maps have such a big variety of how easy to win they are for either side... I mean, how did old cowshed exist in the same game as old shelter woods, that could spawn like 7 pallets total or something ridiculous like that.

New Blood lodge gives the killer 90% of the time a 3-4 gen around shack. If you are lucky you get a 5 Gen.

Why you really love Rework (nerf) maps for survivor ??????? really its painfull... I play for 5577h now But play for 6years and you never rework Blackwatter swamp never still.... You put killer with 10 meter range attack.... i really feel like you really love Nerf Survivor... its not even fun to play survivor now with new all ######### maps...

If you play for that long (like me) you should know how OP survivor was for a long time. Of course things will get nerfed and a lot was overdue for years like DH.

To explain why they want to look at GOJ: it has an incredible amount of interconnecting and safe loops a killer has to "go through" before being able to do anything. On top of that the map is quite big too.

Survivors get more efficient by the year too. So things get nerfed. And killer gets nerfed a lot too: Nurse, Spirit, SM, 3gen etc. Blight is long overdue but fingers crossed.

Last year I literally had one every 3 games or so, during the time they could hold games hostage easier and stuff by making EGC not end until the server shut down itself in 2 hours. I think that now it's slowly growing again but I hope it does not get to the point from last year where I believe like 200,000 cheater accounts got banned. Lately I maybe meet a cheater (usually it's even the same ones with new accounts, since they promote the same cheat software websites in the chat later) maybe like once a day, or once every other day (I play average like 2 and a half hours or 3 hours a day).

Lol I just got one of those Spirit Terminators again. At least it was over quickly.

I also play daily for some hours.

The amount of cheaters you saw is insane! Then I was really lucky back then. Never had one who held the game hostage or that infamous machine gun Ghost Face.

I had one or two terminator bots, insta Gen cheaters or "subtle" speed hackers though. But that was maybe 5 in a total of a year or so.

  • I should not be needing gen regression perks or need to tunnel from the start to have a chance.

Tunneling is something I dispised since I started to play 5 years ago. I don't know what happened, but winning was a lot easier than it is today without being super effective.

Somehow I am more effective with Huntress and no slowdown than with my Main Wesker for some reason.
