I agree, variety is good. That’s how you could buff them. Regardless of buffing those perks, thrill of the hunt should get nerfed to 12% or get a secondary effect when going back to 10%.
Counterforce
- You cleanse and bless (new) Totems 70-80% faster (was 20% + 20% per totem)
- After cleansing and blessing (new) a Totem, the Aura of all Totems (was farthest) from you is revealed to you for 2/3/4 seconds.
Small game
- Get an auditory warning when looking in the direction of Totems in a 45 degree cone within a range of 12 meters. Small game has a cooldown of 12 seconds each time it activates. For each Dull Totems and Hex Totem cleansed by any player, gain a token. Small game detection cone is reduced by 5 degrees per token.
- When you are in the killer’s terror radius and small game activates, reveal the killer’s aura for 6 seconds. (new)
-
Killers saying lightborn is fine, while distortion had to get nerfed. Never gets old.

Yep, she is really clunky to play.

it just looks like it, the speed itself is the same like any other killer at least if it's not buggy xD
It feels so slow. Much slower than on Sadako (I rarely play other killers)y

Tuesday at the earliest I would say. I hope it's a loaded hot fix. Quite a few things need some attention.
What all needs attention?
-
Self preservation
- Whenever another survivor within 24m (was 16m) of you gets hit by a basic or special attack, self preservation activates.
- Your scratch marks, pools of blood, grunts of pain and footstep sounds (new) are hidden for 30s (was 10s)
- Whenever you are in a 24m radius of a downed the timer stops ticking down (new)
That’s how I would buff it. It would become more useful for flashlight saves or just to escape group situations with the killer.

I think if anything it should have a minus repair and heal speed penalty since it’d counter a lot of killer perks and abilities.
It doesn’t really counter any killer perks (at least not much). I’ve written while not under the effect of any skill check perks.
I change that to only while not under the effect of any killer skill check perks and powers, thx.
I don’t think it needs a penalty and unsure about removing the repear/healing increase since skill checks also speed up gens.
-
It is the demogorgon perk or am I wrong?
If yes, 100% agree.

i think hangman trick should work on all the time whenever a survivor is near scourge hook.
That would actually make it interesting

They should make it all hooks again. It being a scourge hook perk sucks.

I might be alone with this but I don't think this is a good idea. Doctor is already quite brutal with this perk and I really don't want to see this becoming even stronger.
I’ve thought of him too, but I’ve come to realize; this is the only way to buff it (if we focus on terror radius) to make it useful on other killer than him as well.

I remember a few years ago, I would actively hope for many maps to get some nerfs.
I have come to realise that while some set ups were too strong, nerfing maps overall was not a great idea. Because that enforces the need for survivors to finish the gens extremely fast, which leads to killers having a need for extremely short chases as well. This is an unfortunate downward spiral, that makes games a whole lot less enjoyable.
We shouldn't be trying to rush through matches as fast as humanly possible and neglect every other part and the game shouldn't encourage that play style over everything else.
I’m 100% sharing the exact same opinion, that you do. Hopefully behavior realizes what they are doing. I’m not a fan of matches ending super fast and stomping most players because they have nothing to use or having nothing to use myself.
-
Yeah some pallets are ridiculous, but it isn’t even the worst pallet behavior released recently.
https://youtu.be/AlOIElPym-I?si=oHOwg47NYXGSjG_ELook at this !!!!!!!! What is this!!!!

Does returning old/og Sadako count since she is still from a later point in time, but is no longer in current dbd?
I would take her back to old dbd and her old addons.

i'd buff numbers by 10% more.
I would agree, but I want them to add a secondary effect first before making it even bigger. Imagine a Wesker with a 56 meter terror radius - sounds fun
-
Not so sure about Treacherous crows revealing the killers aura outside of his terror radius. It would give survivors permanent wall hacks. Oblivious would be a much better downside/trade.
Clean break should just heal 2% of healing progress per second until finished.
Eyes of Belmont: Agree with the linger change and I would make that looking at the killer reveals his aura to you.
Mirrored illusion: There should be no limit on the number of illusions and they stay until the killer hits them/walks through them. There is no need for a time limit.
Agree with the rest overall. 👍

It sounds really cool, specially on killers like doctor 🙏
Sure, but it would also make sense to run it on other killers than him now. It could work as a pseudo stealth perk.

Please no, it's already been buffed and no one complained about it
It was a nothing buff. Nothing really changed

Sadly it is very useless since they added TV auras, but removing them wouldn’t have changed something in that situation either. It’s still only a deception addon.

VCR addon from Sadako

It is still bad because it does nothing when people are close to each other.

That would be cool

The fact that they had all this PTB feedback and still pushed it out is worrying. They have never been great with maps but Haddonfield really takes the cake.
There is no way for a match on that map to be even remotely fun.
I hope maps stop getting worse. I don’t want to imagine, what they will do to the next map rework

I'm really tired of it and wish it could fall under Griefing.
When a Survivor literally fast vaults, slams in and out of lockers, ect. because they want to Head On you, bully you, or loop you.
I don't think it's healthy for the game as the Killer needs to listen for Survivors too and it's so loud that you can't focus or hear anything else.
I know better than to chase them because I'll just lose at least 3 gens.
In this clip, I had come just to do my orange Glyph Challenge of hooking 6 people. Jane spammed inside an Ormond locker for 85% of the match.
I intended to complete my Challenge and let everyone go but then she threw a flashbang and I lost my cool… It just set me off...
https://youtu.be/GrOiWfQTMDc?si=eqJ59lCiqHB2JZBY
How do you handle these situations? I have to wear headphones where I live because of my neighbors and it makes it even more irritating 😒
The Jane got karma. 😄
I don’t remember the last time someone did this, so I don’t know, what I would do. Probably ignore her or if I have the time to chase, kill her as fast as possible.
I do this everytime I’m frustrated about the game or when I want the killer to come to me. Sometimes I do it to troll my teammates or when I’m annoyed by them camping and doing nothing the whole match, so the killer chases them.

That doesn’t change much either. That’s one perk slot less just for a second chance for this perk. Just cleanse it again.

Don't killers just combine number 3 with Penti? Whatever the survivor do you as killer have substantial slow down.
Sure, but you only need to cleanse thrill once and pentimento is exactly the same as it currently is. Thrill would also only take 28s again instead of 47, which would make it fair.
-
I had 50% for killer some hours ago and a little bit earlier 25% for survivor. I’m also playing on Europe servers.

Thanks, but isn’t the present in the bottom right corner?

First, a lot of things change from the Ptb.
Second, thrill is very much a problem right now. If you don't believe me, just take a look at forum posts. Every third is about this perk. And after testing it with my fellow pig enthusiasts and encountering it multiple times in soloq I'm convinced that the buff is way overtuned.
People always complain on the forums, that’s nothing new. Is the buff a problem?-Yes, but not a big one.
After the last PTB for example almost no feedback got taken into account, which is very often the case. Sure they sometimes change things in the bug fix patches later, but that can be done without a PTB as well.

Then what's the Ptb for?
It's there to test changes so that specific aspect can be improved before the live game has to deal with it.
Thrill wasn't tested and now we have the mess. This could have been prevented if they added this change on the Ptb for people to review.
PTBs are mostly for marketing and player satisfaction. They aren’t necessarily for balance. Otherwise they would have to improve a lot more and be available for all platforms. Most times we get almost no changes from ptb to live, although so many people gave feedback about what problems there are.
Thrill isn’t even a big problem right now and it is better that the devs try things out, instead of always playing it safe. It’s more exciting to get changes directly.
-
Freddy needs his rework in January, which will hopefully be good.
Myers only needs some small quality of live changes and buffs.
Sadako needs a revert to her first version with some buffs and keeping the good changes from the reworks. The focus should be more one her chase, teleport and her being fun for both sides and not only on condemned.
Pig needs a reduction of the Bear trap timer by 10-15s and her box auras shown again. I would like if the keys were at physical places again instead of rng, but the fourth box guarantees the key and 5 boxes spawn on a map, so she can’t afk kill again.
Ghost face just needs some more number buffs.

I feel like you could have found some even worse examples lol. Even this horrible tile does not come close to what's on Borgo's surface nowadays.
Let's all remember this thing used to exist:
This reflects perfectly why I don’t like playing survivor anymore.
-
I got 3 ideas:
- It goes back to 10% and it doesn’t spawn a hex.
- It gets nerfed to 12%
- It goes back to 10%, but gets a secondary effect like for each hex/dull totem the generator repair, healing and sabotage speeds are reduced by 3%.
I hope for the third one the most, because it would make it a decent/strong perk and it could be played without requiring other hex perks to do something.
Most likely is a revert back to 10% or a nerf to 12% if we are lucky.

Looking at how absurd cleansing times are with 14% buff for Thrill, nobody tested this.
So, yeah.
If they are going to correct their mistakes in the following bug fix patches (generally speaking), then I’m looking forward to more changes like that, because I like getting surprised and not having to wait a whole month for something to come.

No, I want a perk to be tested in PTB instead of live game???
There is a christmas event in a week or two and killers would bring as sweaty builds as possible, I don't want to spend 46 seconds per totem and neither 30 seconds or have other busted perk combo.
Revert, test on PTB, then go live - simple.
I prefer getting content without a ptb. It shouldn’t be the job of the players to tell the devs what works and what not.
-
I don’t understand why most stealth killers have a huge terror radius anyway. I’m all for reducing them for those killers. Your other suggestion sound good too.
-
It is still fine to put changes directly to live as long as they are willing to correct them. If that’s the case I don’t see why the devs shouldn’t try out more more often.
-
@Reinami said:
I just wonder why when its a killer perk, why do they hotfix it, but when its a survivor perk, we have to wait 6+months for it?
You forgot “We gonna live forever”. It also got nerfed directly after the buff in the next bug fix

I gave up on maps. They seem to get worse and worse. At least the new map looks promising, but I haven’t played it, so my opinion could change on that.

No, revert it back to 10% and test 12% or other variants in next PTB.
You just want it to go back to useless again
-
You play almost the exact same build as I do on sadako. Only difference I use Tana for extra slow cleansing speed while you use crowed control. It’s fun.

Thanks for providing this perspective on the Thrill of the Hunt change! We've been sharing feedback on this with the team and can confirm that we have plans to address this perk in an upcoming hotfix. Stay tuned for details!
Please don’t revert the buff completly and leave it with nothing. Thrill wasn’t strong enough prior to the buff to even being a hex. Make it 12% per stack or/and give it a secondary effect like for example; for each remaining dull/hex totem the generator, healing and sabotaging speeds are reduced by 3%. And please give it something, that makes this perk useful without other hexes if you make it 10%.
-
They should keep the “bug” and make it a feature. It would be a missed opportunity to not keep it
-
@Brimp said:
These survivors were throwing by the time they realized. This wasn't a perk issue it was the survivors not recognizing the perks because ruin regression is basically nothing.
I’m still using this build (with ruin, Tana, thrill and face the darkness) and survivors waste so much time cleansing. It’s funny.

The StB nerf was an attempt to bring this perk into a state people wouldn’t complain about 24/7.
Thrill could get some other form of counterplay instead of a straight-up nerf, like I’ve seen @UndeddJester suggest.
And as for the Invocation, well, the potential is there, especially with the option to almost double the reward, so I just kept the drawback hefty.
Well they archived that. Nobody runs STB, because it is a useless perk added to the hill of useless perks.
Not a fan of either of his suggestions in the other thread. I’d rather take a nerf or revert.
-
It is better to get more things, that aren’t tested on the ptb. I’m not a fan of waiting a month for an update, which I know most things about already. It’s much more exciting when released directly and with stuff that is not necessarily balanced!
-
Another thing I wanted to add; Please let us decide which of her weapons we use (even on linked sets).

Sure... but if neither have a penalty then they are the exact same perk. So what do we do to differentiate them?
I'm playing Devil's Advocate here because this problem is more complex and requires a better answer.
1 - To suggest "remove the penalty from Calm Spirit" is only a half suggestion, because you make all other survivor scream blocking perks obsolete, the same way Distortion made all other perks that combat aura reading obsolete. How can any other scream perk exist when this perk exists?
2 - Also consider if neither have a requirement/trade off, the secondary effect is what is gonna split them. Not disturbing crows in a fairly benign effect, so what effect are you gonna give Hardened that isn't gonna make it just a straight up better version Calm Spirit that is behind a paywall?
3 - This is also not really considering the fact that screams are the weaker version of aura reading... so why are we so determined to make scream perks be perfectly countered with no investment or effort from the survivor? Is it fair that 1 of the killers 4 very valuable perk slots is rendered completely pointless by a hard counter perk, when the effect of that perk isn't even that strong for the killer? If Calm Spirit/Hardened can so easily counter my scream perks, why bother taking them? What is the point of a scream perk? Just take aura reading cause it's better anyway.
4 - Also is this gonna assume that Thrill of the Hunt is or isn't nerfed? Cause if Thrill of the Hunt is nerfed again, then screams are one of the few ways for the killer to protect Hex Totems, and most scream perks are either weak or have been gutted.
That's the reason Calm Spirit has its penalty, it's otherwise a perfect counter to Hex builds as one of the few defences the killer had were screams. From a game design perspective, the penalty does make sense. So how does this penalty-less version for Calm Spirit fit nto the Hex balance discussion?
I'm not rubbishing the idea, but there are a lot of questions that come off this "simple change".
First of all you can make this more complicated than it really is.
- /3./4. It is an extremely niche scenario to happen. If you bring this perk for the sol purpose to counter screams you waste a perk slot and gamble for some value, that you won’t get in 90% of your matches. Basically you waste a perk slot for something, that will most likely never happen, which is already a big enough downside.
- I think introducing hardened was unnecessary, but their effects differentiate enough, so they don’t need any more changes (for now). If you want the other effects of calm spirit you take it and if you want aura reading you take hardened.
If we assume Thrill stays the same, calm spirit should get its penalty removed as fast as possible.
Is it fair that 1 of the killers 4 very valuable perk slots is rendered completely pointless by a hard counter perk
If only one person brings anti scream perks, the scream perks doesn’t affect only one person. All others can still be affected by screams, so it isn’t rendered pointless.
If Calm Spirit/Hardened can so easily counter my scream perks, why bother taking them?
It is such an extremely niche scenario, that the killer brings scream perks and the survivor anti screams perks. You take scream perks if you want something less counterable and aura perks if you don’t care whether or not survivors bring distortion.
The last time someone used Calm spirit against me, was before the nerf to Ultimate weapon and I always respected survivors, who wasted a perk slot just to counter this perk.

Bringing sadako 1.0 would be a delight to have
3.0 tapes currently are her biggest issues for and feel like there's no danger in holding them every single match, so I wouldn't mind this being brought back in some way
Making old newspapers a combination of itself and reikos's watch is a much better way without needing the two every single match
For each projection tvs no longer turn off but has a cool down of 30 seconds for that specific tv, this definitely would make her chase much more interesting
For one thing I wish to see is bloody fingernails become more basekit, that add-on is a must run for being able to catch survivors from a far
Overall good changes, while I like 3.0, she still have flaws and can make smart survivors rather annoying to go against, sadako definitely need some more changes to feel more fun to play as
3.0 tapes currently are her biggest issues for and feel like there's no danger in holding them every single match, so I wouldn't mind this being brought back in some way
I don’t think you can add a real negative to tapes in the current version, because it would be a loose loose for survivors and she would become an even bigger noob stomper. That’s one of the reasons why think going back to 1.0 is the best solution.
For one thing I wish to see is bloody fingernails become more basekit, that add-on is a must run for being able to catch survivors from a far
I agree, but with the removal of the TV auras, it would probably be less necessary to run.
Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment.
