Then your facing the bad ghouls an average ghoul is always in enraged state during a chase
Nope not really. I have him on p100 and it is not worth to go for enraged all the time. Why should I waste a free down for enraged just to extend a chase again?

There were so many wrong things "intended" in DBD history… It doesn't mean it makes sense.
he can‘t even swing while you vault back.
If you are fast enough, you can grab injured survivors.
My question is, why Legion vault is fine to have free revault, but Kaneki needs to have vault better than Wesker?
Kaneki is similar to Legion on concept of free injury, so it would make sense to have about the same vault as Legion does, not best in the game…My question is, why Legion vault is fine to have free revault, but Kaneki needs to have vault better than Wesker?
They are different killers with different strengths I guess. Wesker can down/ injure with his power relatively easy+ good mobility + passive infection, legion can easily injure the whole team + down with his 4th hit and kaneki can easily injure one + catch up. The vault is not that useful in most cases, but gives a little bit more playroom to all of them.
Since kaneki released I said they should nerf his auto-aim free injury and make it more of a skill shot. With that he should be mostly fine and I‘m glad they make the hitbox less forgiving with the next patch. Now they only need to make the time he has for initiating another leap shorter so he doesn‘t just follow people around loops with his power up. The main problem of kaneki always was that he didn‘t require too much skill to be effective and that he needs to be able to mess up more. I‘m kinda hoping they reduce the minimum required leap distance to 3m from 5m, so you can use his power in a more skillful way around loops with more potential to mess up.

Making it guaranteed down for safe loops is really not better.
Before survivor had at least chance to try and get the timing right for revault…I am pretty sure you can still do it against Wesker, whos vault is worse overall compare to Kaneki.
Legion has easiest revault ever, because how far he vaults from window. It's not an issue for them, but Kaneki somehow "needs" it. Free injury is not enough, he also needs free down.
All I‘m saying is there wouldn‘t be an auto injure if it wasn‘t intended. It‘s also not intended for Wesker, but on the flip side for legion it is as he is the only one who doesn‘t have the auto injure.
Making it guaranteed down for safe loops is really not better.
That‘s the Point of the vault. It only really works at strong/god loops and is total ######### at small/middle long loops. There it’s totally fine that he downs you and the vaulting back thing is dumb as he can‘t even swing while you vault back.
-
Why should this not be intentional? It was always intended that you can‘t vault back, otherwise he would have never injured/downed someone by vaulting.
-
In 3vs9 they would need to bring back infinites to balance things out
-
New trickster is way more interesting than the live one. I will take him being slower, stronger and more of an m2 killer over him mostly being played like an m1 killer that spams main event. His normal knives are way better , which encourages to go for m2 hits again instead of using it to zone and punch you. After the last update I lost all interest in him and this looks like everything people wanted that played him prior to the rework.

but if people have trouble understanding it would you rather have people not understand it or have it sound good to you?
I like to think about the Future of Dead By Daylight and honestly this is a good start on the new decade of dbd.
It‘s not even about understanding. Perks like alert and spirit fury are getting an stupid nerf, because they want to separate how you break pallets
-
@Mandy said:
What makes it hard when perks / powers interact, is that it limits both perk and powers in the design process - we'd have to imagine every perk working with every power to ensure it was still at a playable state, and that's a lot of perks that have to work with killer powers - this is also not something new, we've seen it with Bamboozle and Legion for example, where the window block does not work with that part of the perk when Legion is vaulting in power.
Differentiating between power and normal hits makes sense. Differentiating between power vaults and normal ones as well, but between how you break pallets is just unnecessary and complicates things that aren‘t that deep. It only nerfs perks that were already mediocre like Spirit fury and alert. Why does it all of a sudden matter how the pallet was broken ?
-
Funny thing tho, nemesis still sucks in this mode. Having to hit every survivor 3 times to injure someone just doesn‘t work well in this mode with so many syringes. The zombies constantly are far too slow or get stuck somewhere. Sometimes they are goated (especially on lerrys), but most times just minding their own business in nobody’s land doing nothing. Then there are flashlights that make them completely pointless or just use one of the infinite pallets this mode has to offer to kill them.
-
I want to be able to invite friends to my survivor ques when being in the killer wait Que. Just let me play with my friends while queing for killer.
Sadako as killer would be awesome and I need a forever entwindend, bambuzle and bbq effect in one of the killer classes.
-
I like the tonics but for killer they feel a bit underwhelming. Everything the killer gets in 2vs8 is haste and it is getting stale. Give me undetectable, increased gen kick, aura reading in a certain radius for a certain duration or some other effects.
It would also be cool if you added tonics to the normal mode as side objective, where you have to do something for them
-
I don‘t find the class particularly useful, because my aura is constantly revealed, but I had a teammate who carried me with this class, which I was very thankful for.
-
Good changes. Additionally I‘d like seeing the pallet break via his power removed. He doesn‘t Need it.
-
That Mandy confirms it won‘t be 100% is very disappointing. I‘m glad I didn‘t buy any skins for Steve prior to this patch. I would feel so scammed.
-
Hopefully they revert it. Current distortion is so pointless and it wasn‘t even a good perk before. All it did was allowing a different playstile, but I guess everything has to be about chases nowadays and stealth is off the table.
-
I really hope they buff it, it is useless in its current state. What makes it worse is all the vecnas have aura perks and hit you with their abillity for free without any counterplay. Additionally it is one of the gamble perks that potentially do nothing when the killer brings no aura perk, but it is in no world strong enough at countering auras to be worth the risk of it doing nothing.

fair enough. I only offered it in case you missed that it tracks auras as you said you don't like being revealed without you knowing.
to be fair, we should just have the reveal mechanic from 2v8. at least knowing what's in play can help us metagame the auras if Distortion is not allowed to come back.(bring it back)
Does this perk get stacks by object of obsession?

the new hero Eleven has ESPN and can tell when her auras being read. in fact, she punishes it with her brand of object which will reveal the killer to the whole team if they dabble too much in auras
But I don‘t want to see their auras. I want them to not see mine.
-
Can you buff distortion to 3 stacks and/or revert it back to what it was. I‘m sick of vecnas playing aura perks and hitting me through walls without me knowing they knew I was there and don‘t tell me I should use object that only makes it worse.
-
The new screams are such a huge downgrade to Steve. Steve was such great character because of the screams and now he just makes a boring „huu huu“.
I‘m so disappointed.

Wrong, bringing map offerings means you can't bring a sac ward, so other people will bring one too, so the game is gonna choose between what would usually be 2 maps. So it's undeniable that they reduced map variety. Map variety is not the same as agency to pick a map, which is something that shouldn't be in the game because it doesn't fit the vision.
You had two choices either let players chose or the game. It was on the players to decide what happens. It was far better than what it is now, where there is nothing you can influence and you get the same annoying maps over and over. Letting people play their favorite maps and allowing them to bring in some variety was fine and not a big deal. I guess some people like having 20 trashy offerings, that do nothing. It‘s not like players who disliked it couldn’t deal with it before.

It made the game repetitive because the majority were just bringing the same, unbalanced maps. So the issue you have with their removal… is an issue that it was causing anyway.
You could always spice it up yourself if you didn‘t, you chose that yourself
-
I want behavior to balance the game like apex legends is balanced. They barely release any new characters anymore but do significant great updates to old ones.

Hiding survivor aura for her would secure her counterplay to be viable in all cases, which would help survivors a lot, if they know what to do.
Nerfing her teleport speed along her lunge would be overnerf, because long range blinks would kinda require survivor to run into you. That's something that would make her "feel" worse to play, which is never a good thing to do.
It would also make hold W so much stronger against her, which is kinda cheap "fix".Cooldown, lunge addon and hiding survivor aura would be enough to bring her down a bit. It's not like there is need to nerf her into C tier. She can still be one of best killers in DBD, just nerf her crutches.
I honestly never play nurse with aura addons and survivors don’t have a chance at winning if I’m not messing around and I’m not that good with her, but still win like 90% of the time. Now give her to someone better and she has no counterplay.
Sure doing these things (“Cooldown, lunge addon and hiding survivor aura”) would be good, but she would stay at almost the same power level.
Nerfing her teleport speed along her lunge would be overnerf
I‘m not saying they should nerf her big in that case but slightly.

They would have to use them all the time. Thats the problem
You don‘t have to bring one if don’t you have a problem with them. It’s a decision you’ve made. I never used the sacrificial ward as killer nor as survivor, because I didn‘t care whether someone uses them. I was bringing midwich, lerry’s, games and Hawkins offerings on both sides, not because of their strenght. I just liked their aesthetics and that they are indoor maps. The normal map rotation is ######### in my opinion and map offerings allowed you to get diffrent maps to spice things up from time to time than getting the same 5 over and over again. It made the game way more interesting, but it got taken out because people cry over everything in this community and behavior classically listens to them.
-
@PetTheDoggo said:
The lundge after her blink could be made shorter, so she has to be more precise.
Just rework the addon for it. Base range is fine imo.
Slightly higher cooldown is fine, but I wouldn't touch speed of her blink. That's something that can make her useless very quickly, especially if you also want to nerf her lunge…
I would personally just want to rework her lunge addon and make it so she can't see survivor aura while charging the blink.
Just nerfing her cooldown and that addon wouldn‘t be enough tho. She would still be way too overtuned
-
Map offerings were fine the way they were. If someone didn‘t like them they could always just use a sacrificial ward and remove them.

Honestly, the hiding update and antitunnel update both turned out the same, shot down by the community, with only fragments left in the game.
BHVR tried to make the game fun for both sides, but this community decided that they don't want that.
I never got the point of the anti hiding update. Isn‘t the game still labeled as an hide and seek. The first anti tunnel update was good except of those punishments. It just needed a few tweaks.

Still waiting for the flood of perkless Ghostface and Trapper players that were just waiting for anti-camp, anti-tunnel, anti-slug, and pallet density to be cancelled before returning to the game for fun wholesome matches. Oh right, its still the same OP killers on repeat with no viable options in chase for survivors.
Same. I‘m still waiting to play against more than the same 5 killers every match. People simply chose the easiest path of least resistance, so nerfing survivors across the board only benefits the stronger killers, because the weaker killers still lack behind
-
@Crowman said:
The reality is that the experience of the game as a whole is degrading and it's not just a survivor or killer thing. The current state of game balance is both sides speedrunning their objective and trying to avoid as much interaction as possible.
Not to mention this community is trying to rival the peak toxicity of LoL.
I agree the devs need to either rework gens to allow for a slower pace or add more worthwhile side objectives, that are worth doing for survivors (like boons/chests/new easter eggs….).

@diablo916 said:
Well they keep nerfing every strategy killer gets so dont be surprised when survivor gets stale.
Well camping is still perfectly viable, 3 gening still works just fine, tunneling was never easier after nerfing maps and anti tunnel perks and you can still perfectly face camp as bubba. So what did they take away now? I‘m not seeing it. You can still do every strategy

OTR is still good though, no killer is waiting out 40s of endurance. The whole point of it as an anti-tunnel perk is to guarantee you get 2 health states if you're tunnelled off hook.
Styptic/Syringes were just unfair, not saying they shouldn't be impactful or strong but there's a reason why Killer plays found them incredibly frustrating.
How is of the record good tho? It basically punishes you for being a good player. „You loop the killer for too long, ah means you don‘t need it’s effect“. This perk is worthless and does not even work as an anti tunnel perk.
Styptics could easily be waited out and syringes required you to loop the killer for quite some time to activate mid chase, which was high risk high reward. If it healed people too fast they could have just nerfed the numbers by +10seconds and they would be perfectly fine. I don‘t get why everything in this game needs a stupid rework instead of just changing the numbers when that‘s all that is needed.
-
From the current addons we only need two charge addons (in case you run out of one) and one range addon with its effects. The others could be reworked into something more interesting.
-
@Balrog said:
I wonder if this is moreso a mechanic some Survivor players aren't aware of. Do you feel like it's intentional that players are hiding in the anti-camp area?
Most players don‘t know how the anti camp works and the game doesn’t explain it anywhere either
-
Suggesting gens to take 125 seconds is crazy. The other suggestions aren‘t any more reasonable.
You know that watching a bar for ages to fill up isn‘t fun?
-
@Abbzy said:
Indoor maps are now buged with pallet spawns it seems.
I really hope so, because Hawkins, midwich and lerry‘s have so many missing pallets
-
They need to return the opacity back to 40% and make them equally effective on all maps. Let them recharge infinitely again, but they recharge 50% slower when not in chase. That way they shoukd be less spamable
-
@BongoBoys said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4047626#Comment_4047626
Explain then tell me how a simple m1 killer can win on this map without tunneling or camping
Just break the pallets instead of trying to mindgame them, leave chases that take too long instead of mindlessly following a survivor for eternity and pressure gens. Once you got rid of a few main pallets the map becomes a deadzone very quickly
-
Leave this map alone. They‘ve ruined more than enough maps already and besides it‘s not even a problem if you just play it smart
-
I noticed that as well on some other maps (Hawkins, lerry’s ..) and it is super annoying.

As a little reminder.

Good Onryo will tele before you get to transfer the tape. Just watch One Pump Willie he doesn't even need aura add on to dominate 4 man SWF with Onryo.
I really advise you to play her. Most survivors have no clue what’s going on hence her kill rate. When survivors apply her counterplay she gets stomped and yes those smart survivors are rare. One pump Willy is just lucky getting these survivors.

she can see your aura before you can turn off the TV. and if you turn off the TVs frequently you get tons of stacks which makes it easier to Mori you.
You don‘t have to turn off gens frequently. Just the ones that affect you while doing gens, which is normally one. Doing so gives you 0 condemned for the first time and turns off the TV for 70 seconds. This is normally enough to do a gen and if everyone in the team does it she can literally not use her power.
She can only see your aura for a few seconds after she already teleported and when she has that one addon, which gives you more than enough time to turn the TV off before she can teleport again.

I just explained that any skilled Onryo player denies the tape insert cause she can teleport all around the map. She's top 4 deadliest killer in Japan and top 3 in the world for a reason.
She is one of the deadliest killers because most people aren‘t smart enough to do the counterplay. Literally all you have to do is turn of the TVs and she is a powerless m1 killer with an invisibility gimmick

Any competent Onryo just destroys survivors at the macro level and denies inserting the tape since she can read your aura. Mori's the first survivor quickly then the last 3 have no chance.
She can only do this if the survivors have no clue whats going on. Any competent survivor team will stomp her

if you use mindbreaker it might work on some situations but really you’re just allowing the survivor to 99% their sb easier especially if they have a friend telling them ghostface is coming so they leave 2 seconds earlier than usual
there’s a reason why sb is one of the best perks in the game it is great and always useful against every single killer in the gameIt is pretty much a hard counter to all exhaustion perks, because it pauses the exhaustion timer and adds 5 seconds on top. Even tho it makes that sprint burst isn‘t instantly used, they still have to stand still for 5 or more seconds for it to work, which not possible in most situations without wasting distance.
Aside from that the main thing that annoys me is when they insta sprint burst away, which it counters perfectly fine.

Idk what he said but Mathematically it is impossible to “deal” with sprint burst on most killers
This is like saying why dont survivors just outrun the killer if they are so good
There are things in this game which cannot be dealt with no matter your skill on both sides which is why it’s extremely frustrating and unbalanced at times
You can just use mindbreaker. That‘s what I do on killers that have no catch up potential.
-
Why would I run ds if it isn’t even a good perk?

The only thing that would bring me back to dbd is the games state of 2022, where the game was about having fun
