That's a lie. Survivor gets at least a few buffs/changes every patch. Killers too, but they mostly get net nerfs or break even. Ghoul has been omega nerfed like 3 times, and he just came out. That new survivor's perks are all useful, except maybe the locker one (but still an Object-adjacent ability).

You'll get a fresher survivor experience soon enough with MORE anti-tunnel ,-slug, and -camp than is already present. And if it's still not good enough, just press Abandon so that you can never lose, and hope to find a more fun match quick. Or join a SWF, because they've never even been nerfed, and I don't see them getting touched in the foreseeable future.

I was talking about survivor items and killer powers. Maybe I should have made this more clear. Killers get a lot more changes to their power and most of them are positive or much needed nerfs. On the other hand survivor items stay the same without any changes for years. The last change survivors got to their items were the sabo buffs and that was very long ago.

  • The devs really need to put in more efforts to freshen up the survivor experience. Almost every update we see some changes to killers, but almost never any changes to survivor items and how they could be improved.

Chests wasting survivors time only works if chest opening time is kept as it is or in the case of introducing more chests per trial, reducing opening speed, only then would it be beneficial to killers.

Keys and other items are going to be reworked soon so this alone will increase the usefulness of the items received when opening chests in the future. As for getting a brown toolbox, that is part of the gamble of taking the time to open a chest, you make the choice to either invest in putting progression into a gen, taking the killer on chases, or opening a chest which might yield you a lower tier item, that's just part of the risk you take, giving survivors top-tier items on a silver platter is not going to help balance at all.

Having chest opening speed at 6 seconds for example would still be a long time for opening them and very much beneficial to the killer. With 2 basement chests + 6 normal chests and 6 seconds opening time, you get 48 seconds slowdown. Currently you get with 3 chests and 8 seconds opening time 24 seconds.

If they just increase the amount of chest on maps without any changes people would ignore them, because items from chests aren‘t worth it and opening chests is a waste of time. If you want slower gens, survivors should get something in return.

  • @pigslittlepet said:

when i play survivor i really don't want people wasting time on chest so i really don't want this to happen. nothing you find except possibly a flashlight that you save with is actually going to be worth it. tool box: the time you take getting it does not replace the time you could have been on a gen. medkit: healing is normally a waste of time anyway. gens gens gens. keys: umm. no. just no. i'm not saying their aren't exceptions to the rule. there are of course. but by and large chests are just a waste of time so adding more makes the killer side of me extremely happy. yes, go little survivors. open the chests and waste your time while i down your friends and no gen progress gets made. but the survivor side of me begs them not to do this.

That‘s a funny way to see, but on the other side they already do this so this would probably just lessen the frustrations you might get, because their items from chests might have a bigger impact in the positive way.

Well, just as a thought experiment, how would the balance be affected if the chest opening was literally instant (Just the chest opening animation)? To me, its no different than starting the match with the best combo item and addons that you want. The chest item is random, has no addons, so no guarantee you get something useful. And to reiterate my point earlier, bringing chest perks to make these items better just takes the slots of potentially game changing meta perks, ie exhaustion to extend a chase just long enough for a gen to pop, anti-tunnel perks to avoid an early death.

I really think you could giga buff chests and it would affect nothing with the balance, just make survivor matches more interesting. Theres nothing in the chests that will be stronger than items a team can bring themselves for free, useable at the start of the match.

You are probably right, but I think slowing survivors down a little bit for opening chests is good for gen speeds and the game. They just need to make opening chests finally worth it.

No, it isn't a stupid suggestion - it is EXACTLY what should have been done.

    - There is no other way of implementing it without using 1 out of 4 'anti boon' perks which is obviously profoundly stupid.

One single survivor can bring 4 boons and put them on one totem on one floor of RPD with an RPD offering. It is problematic.

Sir have you tried taking an IQ test? Get off my post, thanks.

I might be in the wrong year for MANY things. It doesn't mean it isn't the correct decision. If boons can be problematic circumstantially, then it should be changed.

You want to hold on to a useless perk for what reason exactly? Because it's the wrong year? Eh, no. Shall we also prevent all other correct changes 'because it's the wrong year'? Again, no.

We have a useless perk, of course it makes sense. Boons also should not and should never have been re-boonable, not in the past, and not now.

I swear some people come yapping for the sake of yapping. Use your brain. You're trying to prevent forward progression for zero reason.

Yes shattered hope is bad. Should it get changed yes.

However making it basekit is just a stupid suggestion and not „the correct decision“ when boons are as bad as they are. Not one boon justifies making it basekit and they don‘t need to be made worse!!!

  • You are in the wrong year. No boon perk is even remotely strong enough for shattered hope to become basekit. If you had suggested buffing boons back to circle of healing level we could talk about it, but not in their current state. There it doesn‘t make sense at all.

  • @YamamuraVideoRentals said:

I think the main thing they need to do is reverse the TV off time for the iri tape. Since Sadako doesn't even build up any condemn with this addon, and more mobility is its strength, it makes no sense to allow survivors to shut off her TVs for EVEN LONGER, and with pretty much zero risk of getting condemned.

I want for iri tape that you can teleport to turned off TVs, but doing so doesn‘t spread condemned.

  • Well stone ✅. I really want old iri tape in whatever form back. It was my all time favorite addon in this game.

Cabin sign: Make it turn on TVs faster regardless whether a survivor or the killer turned it off. Then it would be good.

Yoichis Fisching net: Much better and it could finally be useful. Maybe they could add more status effects to different amounts of stacks.

Sea soaked cloth/Rickity pinwheel: The problems are the range and sadakos current design, which makes these addons pretty pointless. I would start by increasing their range to 12-16 meters, their effect also applies around a turned off TV in 3-4 meter radius and make the effects linger for a bit. Sea soaked cloth (blindness) would actually be useful if they changed that.

Rickity pinwheel: The problem is her lullaby. If they gave it the effect of hiding her lullaby as well and the above changes it could be good. I would like to introduce a new status effect for this one: silence. It causes the survivor to become deaf (hear nothing) and the visual heartbeat deactivates. This would fix the current issues of the addon.

Your exhausted effect sounds better than the blindness addon, but I don‘t think the blindness effect is bad.

Do you want to know my ideas for her addons?

The devs confirmed recently they will not decrease the cap that they will just leave it.

Didn‘t they also say they reconsider decreasing it again in the next update with the bulk option?

  • The thing is you can already bypass the cap and get hundreds of million bloodpoints with codes and tomes/quests.

There is literally no reason to have one and I really hope the devs don‘t decrease it again, which they said they might do when the bloodpoint bulk option comes.

  • @ad19970 said:

Personally, the 2 nerfs I would still like to see is have his vault time in enraged mode increased from 1.5 meters to 1.8 meters, and his Kagune Leap cancel cooldown increased from 2 seconds to 2.5 seconds.

I am pretty positive with a 2.5 second cooldown you'd still be able to make these bodyblock plays like the ones you showed and get a hit, but survivors would feel slightly less frustrated and have a slightly better chance at still reaching some tile after Kaneki dashes towards you.

I don‘t exactly get what you mean with the increase from 1.5 meters to 1.8 meters, but increasing the cancel time would kill this character.

    Weeeeelll….

You'd still have a downside. Problem with Weaving Spiders is that it gives 50 seconds of value for 60 seconds of work. Even if it had no negative effect from casting it, the sheer amount of time spent in a vulnerable location already outweighs its benefit, and it would barely classify as 'decent'.

But I'm pretty sure Invocations are designed for killers, not survivors.

Sure but it‘s also a brand new part, which can‘t be regressed. This alone is very good and would make the time spending in basement worth it if there wasn’t the broken effect.

50 seconds of value for 60 seconds of work.

I wouldn‘t say, it gives you only 50 seconds for 60 seconds of time. There are two gens that don‘t get done, but having Les charges on them helps as well.

I don‘t necessarily disagree with you. They could of course reduce the time you have to spend in basement further or increase the charges you get from it. However by changing the broken downside or removing it, the perk would go from a killer perk to an usable survivor perk. It wouldn‘t be super strong, but at least useable.

  • The abandon feature is one of the best things they‘ve done for the game. I give that to behavior. Some people really need to stop complaining just for the sake of complaining about something.

  • @ad19970 said:

I think gaining a hook state with Weaving Spiders would still make the perk pretty garbage. I'd rather just have them implement the idea of op, where they gain the broken effect, but only until they are hooked.

Treacherous crows making you oblivious could work however.

I would actually play it with losing a hook stage compared to the current version. Losing a hook stage is much better than being an insta down and loud as ######### for the rest of the trial.

OPs idea is fine but I rather move away from broken entirely and I like about my idea that you don‘t get a downside at all when you do it later in the trial.

  • The broken downside should be changed entirely. Broken is a terrible status effect to have. I’d rather see invocations have their own downside depending on their strength.

Weaving spiders makes you lose a hook state like shoulder the burden. After completing it you go from 0 hook stages to 1, from first to second and when you are already hooked twice you don‘t get a downside at all. This would also give it a reason to use it later in game and potentially miss out on some value.

Treacherous crows makes you permanently oblivous.

    Kind of like this:

    Safe Combination (Very Rare):
    • Changes one of the Basement Lockers into a Safe.
    • The Map automatically tracks the Safe at the start of the match.
    • While holding the Map, you can unlock the Safe, which will grant you extra Bloodpoints and contains a Herb.

I would like that, but behavior would probably not give us more shards for free.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/6JS1YK8AV0OG/1000025879.gif

Respect, that‘s a good Clip. It‘s very hard to do especially on a lot of maps with a lot of clutter.

  • @krazy_ivan said:

I don't agree with this although it would be fun for survivors but this would give them too many tools during a trial in addition to the items they already bring, if you are to add more chests the chest opening speed should be slower, NOT faster for balance. Opening chests for a higher rarity item should bring some risk of being found, otherwise why not just have the items sprinkled randomly on the ground at that point.

Sadly I don't think fixing sadako's and Xeno's control/tv spawns is high on BHVRs list and in particular these changes would be atrocious for these killers as it's a known issue that during some events these killers get affected the hardest by having less spawns, and there has been little to no effort made to either confirm this issue much less fix it.

Survivors opening chests and wasting their time is always beneficial to the killer, because they aren‘t on gens. However items in chests have to be worth opening them, which currently isn’t the case. More often than not you get a green key or a grey toolbox, that are worthless (especially without addons).

Chests are a healthy way to slowdown gens if they were better. This is why I don’t think chests need any downsides.

Aside from that if they buff chests a lot more perks become more worth it on both sides. Survivors/killers might be more inclined to running chest perks when they are a bigger part of the gameplay loop, which benefits both sides and increases variety in matches.

  • @Memesis said:

Agree with everything here. When chest opening time was decreased from 10 to 8 seconds, I was shocked by how bad it still felt. Chests are still by far a wasteful detriment of a survivor's time, and bring chest related perks is just making you a weak link to the team. Why bother with chests and their perks if you can bring the strongest item and addon combo every game WITH 4 meta perks?

With your changes suggested, this will still be an issue, but its a much bigger step in the right direction than just barely reducing the chest opening time. Personally, I think they should take the same amount of time to open as RE chest, about 4 seconds max.

You say it. It takes still so ######### long to open chests. I would probably make them 6 seconds, because 4 feels kinda fast.

  • @SoGo said:

More or less agree. Maybe aside making Ruleset no. 2 basekit for Pig, that could get really annoying.

Maybe. I think traps should be harder to remove when they aren‘t even active. It‘s kinda funny that you find this the most annoying thing but not the addon change where all kinds of skill checks become silent.

  • Very much agree with the 3 meters minimum distance to leap like you saw in my discussion. It would make him so much less frustrating to play on indoor maps and less clunky in general.

The vault speed could maybe get slightly reduced, but not too much because he gets punished very hard for breaking pallets.

My frustration when playing against him is how unavoidable his hitscan injury attack is. If they tweaked that he would be more enjoyable to play against. Maybe also reduce the mending time when affected by his mark to make playing against him more enjoyable.

  • @Stibfa said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/445822/killer-changes-i-d-like-to-see

I do like the ghoul changes because 5 meters min range can be annoying esp when youre trying to body block mid loop. Im not sure if the decrease mend time really does anything considering youre gonna chase the kagune marked survivor anyway. I would revert enrage vault speed back to ptb values instead, this is just way to easy to do compared to the reward you get right now.

The decrease mend time was just an idea to make the gameplay against him a little bit less annoying.

About reducing the vault speed. I‘m not sure whether or not this would be the right thing to do. He gets punished so hard for breaking pallets, so there needs to be something he can do at loops. At the moment survivors can play around it and it is often a 50-50. Maybe slightly decreasing it wouldn’t hurt, but I don‘t know the ptb value and shouldn’t be much slower than what it is right now. My biggest frustration when playing against him is his m2 hitscan attack that has little counterplay. I‘d rather nerf that, but I also think he is in a good spot right now.

It would be pretty fine, IF the Rift wasn't made grindier and even more FOMO.

I don‘t think the new rift is very grindy. I‘m currently at level 56 in the rift and I will probably be level 100 in two weeks. It‘s nice getting more rewards.

With that being said, I wouldn‘t mind if they sell the deep rift variants.

  • It‘s a good combo on mobile killers or ones that can down you easily. I played it a lot on kaneki.

  • All they need to do is nerfing the hitscan injury ability. If this aspect feels fairer he will be a lot more enjoyable to play against.

They should also reduce the time needed to mend while affected by the mark, so people get less frustrated about mending.

Lastly a small quality of live change, lower the minimum required distance for leaping.

my bad for not having hope in that very open statement where they said they'd "buff killers" … even when the devs buff killers they do nothing. for example look when they buff a trash m1 killer they just give them some useless 2 second cooldown reduction or something look at ghostface or legion or trapper or trickster still in the pits of hell after their "buffs" because the devs are very open to give survivors anything and everything to counter tunneling but are very stingy to give killers, even the worst ones, anything meaningful

I don‘t expect it to be a tunneling hard counter to be honest. It will probably just be a half baked thing like the anti camp. It will be slightly annoying but easy to bypass.

Sadly it’s true that the devs often take too long to do meaningful buffs.

so what it requires way more skill? am I gonna sit there with my 9 hooks and 1 kill while the survivors are tea bagging me at the gate and be like "well at least I did the skillfull strategy instead of tunneling which would have got me the win!"

They said they buff killers when it impacts kill rates and I‘d rather play skillful and in fun ways and get buffs for that than what we have right now.

  • @StalkingYou said:

are you serious? where did you get the idea that tunneling and camping require no effort on the killer side? unless you are playing an a+ tier killer or the survivor youre tunneling is trash, tunneling actually takes skill nowadays because of the amount of anti-tunnel perks that reset chases and hinder you. try tunneling a survivor who's good in chase with OTR + DS as a m1 killer with no chase power. people need to move on from the mentality that tunneling is a free easy OP win strategy lol

Not tunneling requires way more skill. Tunneling makes the game a lot easier for yourself and miserable for survivors.

Actually, the idea of mixing Dream Pallets with his original kit was something I discussed with other Old Freddy players from time to time.

Personally, I wouldn't add the Dream Pallets we have today as a passive, but their original design could work. As for the current teleport, absolutely. I need to update my Freddy concept to reflect that, now that I think about it.

I meant his old dream pallets, not the exploding ones with the aura reveal. Only to clarify.

Honestly, I am not a fan of the overall aesthetic of the map, but Eyrie of Crows is basically the only map in the game that has a decent level of Fog if you use a Murky Reagent, so that is something nice about it.

Eyrie fog can be nasty, that‘s true. It‘s one of the few maps where you actually notice the purple fog offering.

For ghost face speed buff, that was a problem with old legion, like old-old legion. They tried making his power work or not by making it based around being in chase, and it created a very wonky counter play meta that was full of moonwalking. I wasn't there for it, but it sounded really bad. I think they could make it work if they gave him like a base kit version of the fearmonger thing: in other words if a survivor isn't looking at you, gain 5% haste, only it would require him to have his night shroud active.

The Fearmonger ability from 2 vs 8 would be cool too. At first I wanted to suggest that, but I didn‘t want him to get haste while in chase.

I don‘t know old legion, but there is probably something behavior could do so that doesn‘t happen.

1 … 11 12 13 14 15 … 51
