The Grind is real, but I didn't mind. I do love this game, even with it's many problems. I finished the entire Rift halfway through Tome 3. But I do play a ton! I also started at level 7 or 8 when it began after they gave us that little boost. Once they nerfed the challenges, it got even easier. A few of them were hard as hell,(The NOED one!!!), but not impossible. And I feel like I got my money's worth from all the cosmetics. I am a costume junkie.
All that said, the grind is real, and taking breaks with other games definitely helps. The worst part of the whole thing has been the last week and all the farming that is running rampant through the game. It will only get worse as we get closer.
-
Its the end of the Rift Blues. This was bound to happen the further we got into the Tomes and the harder the objectives got. The Tomes need to be more grind based, even the harder ones. I would much rather have to hook 50 survivors over time than have to hook 5 in the basement in one match. If they switch to more grind based challenges it would encourage more normal gameplay.
-
I would love an entire circus map, but it would have to be more of a carnival. Maybe an abandoned theme park with a broken roller coaster and a junked up Ferris Wheel? But Clown's map currently is probably the best balanced map in the game. So another map? Sure. But not a rework of one of the best maps!
Puke Temple can totally go. I don't even get why it is in the Red Forest. Huntress and Plague aren't from the area of the world are they? Puke Temple is just so big! A very tough map to transverse with a slower killer. Having it all in the Temple sounds alot more fun. I enjoy the indoor maps. They add a sense of claustrophobia that you don't get from the outdoors.
-
My Killer Rank is kind of smurfed right now. I am a rank 12, but have been in the red ranks a few times in the past and usually hover around the high greens. Anyway, just last night I had a match with my Trapper against all Red Ranks, 2 of them rank 2. For a normal rank 12 this would have probably been hell, but I handled it. Still, not a fair match making hookup. There are just not many people playing Killer anymore, which is sad, because I think it is more fun and rewarding.
-
That sucks for you. When a killer does the 3 gen thing, you really need a group that acknowledges it and pressures those 3 gens. It takes a while sometimes, especially versus a Doc or Freddy, but it isn't impossible to get that final Gen done. Definitely not the most fun way to play the game, but it isn't impossible.
As a Killer, I hate the 3 Gen strategy, unless I am playing Trapper, and even then I don't go for a 3 Gen unless the Gens are really popping. Atleast with Trapper you know you can actually.catch some folks during the 3 Gen chaos, granted as long as you are placing traps like a minefield between those locations, but even then it can be long and tedious.
Maybe start playing some Offerings for larger maps, which can make the 3 Gen kind of impossible. Red Forest is a good one to use or the Corn Maps, they are all pretty large and easy to avoid that 3 Gen strategy.
-
Survivors at the highest rank have it much easier than Killers at the highest rank, this isn't even really a debate if you have spent a month or 3 in the red ranks at either side. But this game is not focused on the higher ranks, it is much more focused on the casual player. If they wanted an elite group of players, they would have made a competitive league or mode and a casual mode. They are trying their best to muddy up the high ranks with the new rank reset system, allowing weaker survivors to make into the red ranks so killers can have more success, but even that won't work. You don't have to be the greatest solo survivor to survive a SWF.
-
This game is kille sided??? Muhahahahaha!!! Maybe you need to get past the Green Ranks, and even then, by the time a survivor gets to Green they should know the two things they have to do; Loops and Gens.
-
They already said they were doing less events so they could work on better gameplay issues. Thank goodness they have made it so much better by erasing survivor sounds when a killer is in chase and only letting dead hard work half of the time. Be thankful for your quality of life fixes. Haven't you noticed how fewer....haven't you noticed....haven't you noticed how fewer bugs there are?? All a winter event would do is add fireworks to the game for the 17th time. Enjoy your non-event.
Though I would have loved a 5 day Double BP. Screw it...I want a triple BP Event!
Now go spend 10 bucks on DWELF and hush!!
-
Trapper is way too low, especially with someone who can play him to the best of his ability. I have more kills with Trapper than any other killer. He is a machine when his traps hit, and if you know how to play him, you can almost always make his traps hit. Everything else looks good, though I disagree with the Plague. She is just a fan favorite and isn't as strong as people want her to be. She just doesn't earn enough blood points to even be worth playing in her current state.
-
Absolutely Not.
-
Where are the other toolboxes? I've only recently heard about these and only seen the Hawkins one.

I'll have to test this out next time the stars align and I just so happen to be on Hawkins as nurse, and the basement is in the right place.
Don't forget you'll also have to remember to check it out too once all of those stars line up just right.
-
I like this idea, because I have the same problem. It is hard to even want to try out another killer nowadays when you know you can rock out with some of the others.
-
Are you on console? If so, once they added Bill all of his perks became locked unless you already had them on your characters. They will not be available in other characters Webs until they are unlocked through Bill or the Shrine.

The 5 Gen chase situation is a good point, but I have an idea.
What if you delete the cap of individual categories, but keep the 32k BP cap.
The only problem with that is you can legitimately max out all four categories and hit the 32K mark, making it so there wasn't a limit for a certain category would only reward people who actually only did one thing, but hurting someone because they were forced to only do one thing is still a crappy way to go. That is why certain objectives need a point rebalance. Not many people go into the game thinking I am just going to do one thing, unless you just really like getting chased.
-
I don't think you can go to a straight kills%/survival% in this game. Sometimes you get a 4k because someone was AFK at the start and it suddenly became a 3v1, some people can Nea Duck-Walk across the map the entire game and not do a damn thing, then hop out of the game when someone else opens a gate. The emblems are there to reward a player for doing thing in each of those four specific categories for a reason, to reward people who can play the game and touch on each of those primary point objectives.
The problem really comes from that as well. If you go into a match and run a 5 Gen Chase against a killer, you will max out on points and probably de-pip. You didn't do anything else while the others got points in the other 3 categories and at the very least, black piped. The thing the 8000 point cap in each area is a problem, either that, or some of those point objectives need to be reevaluated.
I do still like implemented the ratios of kills and survivals too, though. It just all needs to mesh somehow.

Every post on here ends up Killers vs Survivors. This whole forum is as toxic as the game and very unproductive.
-
We don't have any of the peeps from Texas Chainsaw, so who needs Syd. The games Ghostface is much cooler than any of the movies Faces, so to hell with it. Plus, it must cost more than they are willing to pay for any of the actual movie licenses or else we'd have an actual movie GF. This one was made up in a Montreal meeting filled with coke and bagels. I think they got the license from a different outlet.
-
I made it through the entire Rift halfway through Tome 3. Not sure if I just play too much, but it really wasn't that hard. But I also started on the 7th level of the Rift when it began after the bonus they gave people for playing the week before or whatever.
Good luck to everybody! Sorry you are having a tough time.

Trapper. He seems like he appreciates a good work ethic and doesn't like people who gossip.
He's also pretty creative. Doesn't bow to the entity either. (I mean look how he was tortured.)
Pretty cool guy, just don't laze around like a useless maggot.
That last line made me chuckle.

This post is just bait for a Twitch channel?

As great as this game is, or rather can be, the changes always seem to be geared for the enjoyment of the survivor as opposed to the killer. In the long run, this game comes down to grabbing cash, and there is more money to be made by enhancing the survivors side than the killers. More people play survivor, so making sure they keep playing is a priority. Then more cosmetics are made for survivors, because once again, it's all about that bottom line. Its we suckers who keep playing killer who get punished in the long run, but this game is alot like heroin, when you are an addict, even bad heroin is good.
-
I pick the pig cause she's sexy as hell. Even with the meat mask. Love me some Shawnee Smith.
-
You are supposed to mentally take on the persona of the survivor you are playing. Dwight hides, Claudette heals and hides, Meg is annoying and runs alot, Jake is a sneaky bastard....Roleplay a little bit. Have some fun.
-
Obvious Tru3Ta1ent echoer is obvious
-
It's just too bad she doesn't get very many points for using her power and doesn't get credit for a hit when the puke makes someone broken, so her points are always off. She needs to be rebalance points-wise, because you can 4k with her and still only get a black pip.
-
They do all have audible differences. Some of them are quite quiet when they walk, others don't make as much noise when they use their voices. Jeff and Jane are very loud, so is Meg, while Feng and Ace are quiet little mouses.

You just made me laugh so hard I spit coffee. But as you see, it isn't that hard! Lol.
You got this,bruh!!

If you get a map with alot of levels though, like Haddonfield or the Game, it's nice to place the traps right about where the survivors jump down. You can literally jump down yourself, stop, and place a trap. Sometimes these can be found fairly quickly because they tend to be a bit in the open, but they can be money a lot the time and hilarious.
-
I usually either use Fog to make it even harder to see the traps, or I use the ones that make the hooks closer together. If you can get two survivors hooked at once, you can setup a mine field in between the two hooks that makes it hard to get to them. It really comes down to trap placement though, so unless you are a low ranked killer, survivors know the usual spots of windows and pallets, etc. Remember, the tall grass is the Trappers best friend!!
-
The best things to use, imo, are the Yellow or Purple sacks so that you can carry more Traps at once and the Tar Bottle so that your traps are extremely hard to see. The biggest trick with Trapper though is to place your traps in no traditional places. Instead of placing it right next to a window or a pallet, place it where the survivors are going to run their loops. They'll jump the window or not drop the pallet, take a right, and bam, they get trapped. Also, being able to carry 2 or 3 traps at once is very nice when you have a survivor hooked. You can place 2 or 3 around the hooked survivor and usually catch someone just after the unhook. Especially if there are only a few avenues for the rescuer to take to get to the hook. The Tar Bottle, or a weaker trap darkener, really really helps.
Good Luck!!

I disagree but that's fine, it's your opinion. If the game had a challenge to specifically target certain characters (and it doesn't) then maybe I could see why. You, as a killer, TELLING me to play a certain character is bogus and not what this game is about. Surely you understand that.
Unless the killer was Leatherface looking to kill Clauds so that he could earn her face cosmetic, that's the only reason I could see a killer asking for a certain survivor.
-
Anyone who sends a bitchy PM after the fact is a crybaby or a brat. Just get over it and move on. Being a cooch doesn't make anything better.
-
It really should mean that the killer is camping or atleast has come back to the hook. It is more helpful that way, imo. Throwing your hands up and demanding a save can sometimes be seen as annoying, especially when that hooked survivor starts doing it immediately and everyone else is on a Gen. You've got a minute to chill on the hook while the Gens get finished, so calm down bruh, and we'll get to you soon after!
The only reason one should flap their wings immediately after being hooked is versus a stealth killer who is using BBQ and has made an immediate beeline towards another survivor. That way it can be more of a warning that a sneaky boi is headed their way. Otherwise, it should be a camping/nearby killer warning.
-
Why do SWF's groups lie and say they are all solo??
-
Hahahahahahahahaha!!!
Like people actually switch roles!!
-
I get you now. Numbers on all would be much better.
-
I dig it. Prestiging is a joke for most characters. Some of them look really cool all bloody, not so cool that it is worth it though.
-
I am going to need a Sushi Chef outfit with this or else I won't buy it.
-
Which perks, for instance? Just looking for you to expand.
-
This game lacks a true hardcore mode, so as killer, and as someone who likes to play online against really tough competition, I don't mind SWFs. It isn't like they show up every match, so it doesn't hurt me too much, and when they do show up, I actually get pumped up. If you are a hardcore killer, which I can be with a few of my killer builds, the chance to prove it against a hardcore SWF team can be some of your favorite moments.
And Survivors have hardcore modes too when a killer shows up with a Mori or they have to face and Iri Huntress with her extra hatchets. It's great for yourself and the Game to have really difficult circumstances that a player can beat.
Basically, nut up or shut up and enjoy the challenge of it.
-
As a cosmetics junkie, yes. I will buy every pass. I need new clothes for my Murder barbies always. Plus, I flew through the rift and was done halfway through Tome III and got my money back at the same time.
-
I got the Dark Sense one o. My 4th try. You need to run a ninja/gen rush build and just get it done. You have to be kind of a dick and avoid saving people of the hook, but it wasn't so bad. I ran Alert to keep up with the killer, Prove Thyself for destroying Gens, and Poised so I could scurry off with no scratch marks after each gen. The match I got it done we all died, but I still got a pip.
Also, I play solo, so getting it done that fast felt pretty good.
-
Uhhhhhhhh...the gen progression stops for about 2.5 seconds, while it is stopped it can still trigger a skill check for a person working on the gen, which they can fail, and the process just keeps going, leading to your eventual killer friend showing up and eating you.
So it's actually non-toxic.
Now...get Gud.

Thats not entirely true though. When the light pops on, I know they are exactly 32 meters INFRONT of me, as opposed to behind me. I can also move left and right to narrow it down further on if theyre infront and to the left or infront and to the right. If you have a gen thats in that range... Thats why its important to see WHEN it pops on, not just note after the fact that your perk has been on for awhile. If I see WHEN it pops on...theyre 32 meters infront of me, not 15, not 22... If I only notice its on AFTER the fact, they could be anywhere.
I dig it. I am going to give it a shot on my Clown. He is one of the worst for me at hunting. I enjoy playing him, but haven't found a real winning build for him yet. Anything else run will with Whispers??

Whispers is pretty good in pinpointing an exact location if you pay attention to WHEN it turns on, as well as keeping you from wasting time when the perk is off. If your not paying attention to it, look over and notice its on... then you run into your problem of the area is too big to find them.
I get what you are saying, but even when it first turns on you are dealing with the maximum distance within a radius that the survivor can be in. I get how it may be useful for finding the first person, but it still feels like too big of a space for a person to be in. But, I also don't have much of a problem finding people to begin with. I will try it again though, maybe I can get some use for it on my slower killers.

Just curious, but how much have you tried using whispers?
It has been a long while since I used Whispers. I used to use it a good bit when I first started playing almost 2 years ago. Maybe I should give it another shot.
-
I don't like either, unless I am using a slug build, then I will use Deerstalker. I feel like Whispers has too big of a range. It would be better if it was a smaller radius.
-
How many Huntresses you running into?? I mean damn, I hardly see her anymore and who cares if she has Iri. Just try your best and take the loss if you must. People keep thinking they can survive every match.

If the killer is in the middle of most maps or even near it they can get to the basement just fine. They have enough time and speed. Though I do get it, 100%'ing a wiggle bar should trump hook mechanics otherwise the hook mechanic renders it useless as it is now. (It also doesnt help hooks are like 30 metres from each other so even if you sabo, you need to sabo like 5 hooks to have a chance.)
I wish sabo'ing was still.an actual tactic. The rare match as killer where a team is destroying hooks can be so frustrating! But I love it as a survivor defense. Just another side objective that never meant much.
