After all his changes he's certainly not a bad killer, he's just hard to play and not very fun for most people. Similar to Artist in a way.

I've spent most of this event playing survivor and every single game it's been sweaty nurses, sweaty Blights and sweaty Weskers. I don't mind the camping and tunnelling so much because I know gens are flying but it's the slugging that does it for me.
From here on in for the remainder of this event I'll only be bringing the following offerings:
- Garden of Joy
- The Game
I'm not wasting my cakes on BS
The Game is a killer-sided map so go right ahead.
-
It's not a big deal, no one even uses those halos anymore so no one even gets bragging rights from them. It's good newer people who weren't around then actually get a chance to play around with em for a bit.
-
Could run Breakout and run around the killer when he's carrying someone, easier to make em whiff AND you might help your teammate. Or the new perk Made for This apparently makes a lot of good killers whiff because they're so used to default speed.
I got lucky and found a friendly Hux who gave me most of mine.

Unless you are going hit&run where you have chance to interrupt healing survivors, sloppy is not that good.
I have only few killers where I use sloppy. It's not bad, but also not best for most killers.
Lot of killers can get it from add-on anyway.
Your take is weird anyway. Sloppy is better than other perks with this effect. Sure, but it's not hard when those perks are mostly trash. Why not just buff those instead, so there are alternatives?
-Your- take is weird 😥
-
@Crowman said:
Killers that primarily use their power for damage such as Nurse and Huntress don't really want to use a perk slot on Sloppy.
They're the exceptions, yeah, can throw in Blight and probably a couple others too. For most killers though, Sloppy always seems the best choice.
-
@Brokenbones said:
I don't think it's an issue
You have addon versions of mangled/hemo for a couple of good reasons:
1) Your power is a special attack, so sloppy doesn't work
2) You get to free up a perk slot for other things
Gift of pain also applies the same effect.
Yes and no one runs Gift of Pain because Sloppy exists :p
-
There's nothing 'wrong' with tunneling or camping, just like there's nothing 'wrong' with genrushing. Both are the most efficient tools to secure a win and if one side wants to try and win, they're gonna use them.
The issue is that they're not really very fun to play against. Survivors hate being tunneled and camped because they feel they're not able to 'play the game', and killers hate being genrushed because they don't feel like they're able to 'play the game'.
Someone isn't a bad person for using the most efficeient strategy to try and win, the fault lies in the developers for making a game where the strongest ways you can play are also the least fun.
-
It doesn't really need buffing. If you wanna do a saboing build you pretty much always wanna bring it.
The reason it's not used much is because saboing isn't meta, not because of the perk itself.
-
I don't think that's a great idea, the effects aren't really balanced all too well.
-
People said the same things about killers before the event too :p

I can not believe I'm reading this.... This community sometimes SMH.
Detail: I do not own him, but c'mon negate someone's fun because you don't like something?
I guess sarcasm doesn't translate well online.
-
I really like Plague's one where you can only infect objects. Gives her a completely different playstyle.
-
BHVR has already stated they gave up on basekit Unbreakable as it was OP.
-
That's not abusing it though, that's literally just using it.
-
People on these forums think that its bad to expect people to play the game and it's fine if someone gives up and leaves whenever they want.
-
I don't always expect 5 of them especially from survivor because they get them at a slower rate and maybe they only started the event just then buuut, it's a bit odd when sometimes i'm the ONLY one bringing one.
Then again I've seen multiple people on these forums admit that they're so petty and their hatred of the other side so strong they would rather screw themselves over, just to screw the other side over too.

I find it to be a significant issue particularly because of how ds/otr were disabled in endgame to prevent so called "free escapes," you may not have had an issue with those, but I can tell most people definitely have and bhvr did, and they should take same issue w free kills imo. The "free escapse" provided by ds/otr was only a difference of one escape/kill, in the same way free kills can be defended for only being a 1k, free escapes can be defended in only making a difference of a 1k, making a 3 out (killer loss) into a 4 out (still a killer loss). Also imo there is more than bubba who can do this, not a lot more, but billy can, trickster can, plague can, and some other killers with some vile addons. Just out of curiosity tho, what stuff that killers can do are you referring to exactly?
And I agree it's unfair and should be dealt with, Bubba's kit is far too good at facecamping and denying survivors much counterplay to it, I'm just saying it isn't a widespread problem at the moment because even with this issue, Bubba isn't that widely played and facecamping-Bubba even less so. And yes Myers is another who can do it with perma t3 or simply 99ing t3 and facecamping, and Billy, while it's a bit more tricky to do.
I'd argue that tunnelling in general is something that, if you're not a strong looper, is uncounterable basekit as well. You need to bring Endurance perks, a Styptic medkit or something like DS to help deal with it, and even then you're only making it more annoying for the killer, not really stopping it.
Also slugging. If the killer just wants to slug all four survivors and you don't have particular perks like Unbreakable or Boon: Exponential, you're in for a harder time. There's definitely more your team can do about it but for solo queue especially it can be a lot harder.
-
There are definitely things I want changed about Bubba's power when near hooked survivors, I think most people can agree that there needs to be some changes to make him not so strong at facecamping.
However, the fact that Bubba can guarentee a kill so long as he doesn't mess up isn't a MASSIVE issue. Guarenteeing a 1k (or a 2k with noed) isn't the end of the world because a 1k is still a loss and a 2k only a draw. Yes it feels cheap and it's hard to get the save without some serious skills and certain items/perks, but you don't see facecamping Bubbas very often at all. I rarely see Bubbas in general and the few times I do they usually don't facecamp. This is because it's not a very fun playstyle for the killer either, and if the survivors just focus on gens he's gonna struggle to 'win'.
So yeah I do hope BHVR finally changes Bubba somehow so this isn't an issue, but it's still not that big of an issue anyway.
And if you're saying it's a problem just because there isn't a basekit way of dealing with it, well, there's a bunch of stuff killers can do that's impossible to deal with without certain perks or items.
-
I mean for the other survivors.
-
It's been so long I can't really remember, but Hux's was certainly on the harder end. Plague's was also quite tricky because of just pipping works and Nurse's just because I can't play Nurse.

Even if they meant the Anniversary Invitations, still not makes sense tho.
It favors killers more. Insta pallet break and expose are pretty strong effects to use.
Good survivors can use the pallet spawn to pretty nasty effects though. Also the pallet break isn't instant, it takes a short bit of time and is telegraphed so the survivor can act.
-
I'm doing it right now, but I thiiink I remember hearing they were gonna make it an option in the future, may be talking out my arse though.

My DBD Anniversary matches so far, all of these are me playing Survivor, they are all listed in order from top being the first and bottom being the most recent (any durations of time mentioned are rough estimations, I dont use a stop watch).
- Wesker; tunneled and camped me to death at 5 Generators remaining, the hook was in a complete deadzone and I couldnt reach anywhere with the Endurance and Haste.
- Skull Merchant; camps a 3-gen the entire match, the match lasted 35+ minutes.
- Skull Merchant; camps a 3-gen the entire match, the match lasted 20+ minutes, random teammate DCed early on.
- Ghostface; fun match, really good Killer, they got a 2K, and nearly got us with Blood Warden.
- Knight; camps a 3-gen the entire match, the match lasts 40+ minutes, and we all bleed out because the Knight refuses to hook any of us and just kicked Generators.
- Nurse; tunneled out a teammate at 5 Generators remaining, BMed everyone single person, bleed out everyone for the full bleedout timer, Killer harassed us in post-game chat.
- Skull Merchant; camps a 3-gen the entire match, the match lasted 20+ minutes, they refused to hook anyone so half of our team just DCed because they decided it wasnt worth dealing with.
- Knight; camps a 3-gen the entire match, the match lasts 30+ minutes and they get 2-man outed still, Killer harassed us in post-game chat for breaking their 3-gen.
- Demogorgan; tunneled at 5 Generators remaining, Killer harassed us in the post-game chat.
I hope people have been getting better matches than I have. I was playing with friends but some left because they had better things to do or were just getting too frustrated with the game.
Sounds like regular DBD to be honest.

Columns regenerate invitations if I'm not mistaken. The max I had at a time was 2 (there is an orb circling around your body) and once I used one I was able to grab another one.
Once you gain an invitation your 'invitation power' guage charges as long as you're in chase and it can hold upto 2 charges.

They really need to make Wesker less fun.

The content creator i watch is on a 450+ game winstreak as Nurse with no perks and add-ons and usually at least gets a 3k when playing other killers. And the rest of the people i watch mostly agree that the game is pretty balanced right now and by far not surv favored.
Knightlight enjoyer?

@Phyrqc said:
They just increased gen completion time from 80 to 90 secs
That was a while ago to be fair, and it wasn't really the best way of dealing with genrushing as is shown by it not really doing much to help with it.
-
@Ryuhi said:
Yes and no.
Doing gens is the only objective that actively progresses the game for survivors. Gens definitely can go too fast, but that is more a failure of how wildly they can vary in completion time, and lack of other things required to finish. One of Pinhead's biggest strengths is basically forcing one person to do something else, after all.
Until they normalize gen speeds and or add objectives, itll never get better.
That's the main issue, gen speeds can vary so damn much game-to-game. I'm sure we've all had games as killer or survivor where no one seems to really care about gens and it takes ages for any to even start getting done. Likewise there are games where they get done really early into the match and just keep consistently popping no matter what the killer does.
It all comes down to survivors sitting down and doing them.

To each their own, if you like running lightborn by all means run it. All I’m saying is that a lot of people don’t realize that people going for saves can be just as beneficial if not more for killer as it can be for survivor.
I totally get that. I myself rarely run lightborn and usually just deal with flashlighters well enough. I just know some people who hate flashlights and for them Lightborn makes perfect sense.
-
@Nebula said:

If there are multiple survivors going for flashlight saves that means at least 3 of the 4 of them are doing nothing to progress the game and it gives you an incredible opportunity to snowball. The amount of games I’ve seen teams and my team throw by trying to get saves like this is wayyy more than the times it actually works out.
There’s always something you can do as killer in this scenario.
Yes it means the gens aren't being done, or at the very least they're being done slowly, but so what? It isnt always about whether gens are getting done or not. Some people just don't like getting flashlight-blinded or losing people to flashlight saves. Having the survivors following them all game may well be benificial to a killer but if that killer just doesn't like dealing with flashlights then it makes sense to run Lightborn.

And just like good Survivors knowing when to go for a save, good killers know to take the necessary steps to avoid a blind that isnt slapping on a perk
If there's multiple survivors with flashlights there isn't always something the killer -can- do, that's the thing.
-
Dealing with flashlights isn't as easy as many here are acting like it is. Good survivors know when to go for the save and aren't gonna fall as easily for baits. People are also gonna make sure they don't go down right next to a wall. As far as I see it if you don't wanna have to deal with flashies or flashbangs then Lightborn is a perfectly good perk. If you personally don't have much of an issue with it then don't run it, it's really that simple.
Certainly don't need this thread dredged up every few months and people hating on lightborn users calling 'em bad killers :p
-
I still stand by the fact that on it's own, the 3% Haste is nothing. Combined with other Haste effects, yes, it can be too much and I do think there needs to be a cap to Haste effects, but on it's own 3% is pretty weak and I've had no issue with it as killer.
-
Using a single game result to 'prove' anything is a bad idea, but in this case the game result doesn't even prove your point.
Yes, Blight is absurdly strong, and nearly everyone agrees that he needs at least some amount of nerfing (reigning in his strongest addons). You don't really need to try and 'prove' that he's OP when most people already agree.
Also if you play enough games you can get a 3k or 4k with literally any killer running only two perks. And the results screen doesn't really tell you much, like the skill of the survivors, if they were a SWF, if they were just chilling, doing archives etc.
-
I don't use it as much thesedays but sometimes if I see 3 or 4 flashlights in a lobby I might decide to bring it, ruining survivors fun is always fun.
Also there's quite a bit of Blast Mine thesedays because of the 'Blind the killer 10 times' archive so you're screwing over survivors even more by running it, win-win.
-
I quite enjoy going against Doctors but I understand his effects can be pretty bad for those suffering from certain things.
-
You have to get quite close before it actually appears and it pretty much can spawn anywhere, though usually will not spawn near the map boundaries and will usually spawn in or around tiles/shack/main.
As far as I know they're not bugged at the moment but yeah they can be tricky to find. Usually better to try as killer since you can explore the map freely, Wraith can be especially good.
-
It all depends on what the pickrate is. If the pickrate is too high then it'll probably be nerfed as BHVR has shown they only really care about a high pickrate when it comes to nerfing perks. Windows will likely get a nerf too at some point.
-
Killer adepts and some archives require 4ks. As long as they remain in the game there needs to be a way to avoid hatch being an issue.
-
I had no idea that was even a thing. Good change I guess since Self Aware (Fixated) isn't even that good of a perk -with- the buff :p
-
@FreddyVoorhees said:
I'd rather have BHVR only add licenses that are not time limited from now when it comes to killers and maps.
I mean all licences are 'time-limited'. The licence-holders only agree to give BHVR the rights to the licence for a certain time, could be one year could be a few years. Near the end of that time BHVR and the licence-holders meet again to negotiate another contract and if they can't agree on one then the licenced content is removed from the store.
BHVR has actually done an amazing job at keeping the many licences they have for as long as they have. I feel like this is why so many people have gotten used to licences being forever and so if any of them leave it must be because BHVR has messed up.
-
I mean that's how licences work, they only stay if both parties can agree. I think the playerbase has been very naive assuming that licences are just always gonna stay.

You mean the perk that only activiates after all five gens are finished? How is that an issue? Its not an auto-win combo, you absolutely should be rewarded for playing with three perks the entire game if you managed to still finish the gens without dying.
In the same way survivors aren't entitled to free escapes, why are M1 killers entitled to free kills? M1 killers will still be bad regardless if the perk is nerfed or not, we as a playerbase need to move away from the notion that everything survivor-sided needs to be watered down and balanced around M1 killers, that will never fix the issue and will just make survivor increasingly boring to play.
M1 killers just need buffs as a whole.
And for as much as people say M1 killers are unplayable, they still all have good killrates and can still all 4k more than they 0k due to how the game works, skill variance, and perks. People seriously overrate how bad they are imo.
Hope on it's own is fine, where did I say there was an issue with it? Same with other Haste perks, on their own they're fine or even weak, the problem is when you run them together and reach speeds you're not really supposed to reach.
-
Pretty much what other people said, alone it's fine, infact I'd say alone it's really bad, but it -can- become an issue against m1 killers if paired with Hope.
-
Still no lesbians?
-
I call him Hux since that's his name.
-
The map looks awesome but has the same problems a lot of maps have, it's clear they just can't make fair, balanced maps. The killer has a power that's tricky to use and easily countered. Coming after two unpopular patches and with this being the anniversary chapter, it's not good.
-
@HugTheHag said:
Now, to take advantage of that and slow down a little bit in their releases and taking the time to fix what needs fixing instead of pumping out chapters one after the other...
We already have so many survivors and killers, and a ton of perks no one uses. They should take a few months to focus on QoL, balance and reworks.
They should but they wont because devoting even one chapter to instead focus on balancing and game health will cost em a bunch of money. QoL improvements isn't something they can sell. It may help bring some players back or retain some that would otherwise leave but a new chapter does that AND makes them money.
