It looks awesome, certainly has the feel of an alien world, and even the buildings look cool. Layout-wise it's... I mean not Garden of Joy-level awful buuut not far off either.

Nahhh
Survivor only patch usually don't change the game too much, and we just get a boring patch that has a killer no one wants to play.
Even a balance changing patch would be more interesting than Nicholas patch TBH.
Ash came with broken MoM and Mikaela came with broken CoH.

I use it with Jolt on Freddy. Coupled with his teleport it's really useful. Any killer that has a teleport or someone like Artist could get really good value from it, and pairing it with Jolt means you don't even need to kick that often.
I would say on low-mobility killers though it's not really as useful because it's a lot harder to capitalise on the info, unless you're 3-genning.
-
Pharmacy is already garbage after the 'buff' that was just a nerf. It then just got nerfed again because an Emergency Medkit is identical to a brown medkit if you're healing yourself now, why bother bringing a perk just so you can waste time looking for a chest while injured and guaranteeing a brown medkit?
And now you wanna have to waste MORE time having to take the item out the chest and rummaging?
-
After some solid buffs he could be a really god killer, but he's kinda trash right now.
-
I haven't played against it much yet but I doubt 3% is gonna really do much of anything. Dark Theory is stronger and no one uses it or can even tell if it's in play when it is used.

P100 doesn't automatically makes you good at the game. Putting hours on the game doesn't mean skill.
Yeah but like 95% of the time they're REALLY good. I get it's not ALWAYS but it nearly always is the case from my experience.
-
Even with the tweaks since the PTB, the EMPs just neuter his power so much. He's basically just an m1 killer.

@Aven_Fallen said:
It does. You are not supposed to be at low(est) MMR when playing a first game with a Killer.
I'm not expecting to go against babies but I can't exactly learn a new killer when I'm put against p100s.

So your saying a killer should be handed a free kill they technically do not deserve is fair?
It's not a free kill though, the other survivors can still bodyblock and the unhooked survivor still has 10 seconds of endurance and Haste to help them out.

Yeah well you do have very bad killers(not saying you) that doesnt even deserve a kill and the fact they disable ds to not work at exit gate shows how bhvr does indeed care wants to hand hold killers. Its the killer fault if they are not able to catch someone to begin with or overall they just wanna tunnel that person out for ego purposes. How is it far for someone who technically should have got to live gets killed ds not working when gates pop as if it didnt already have so much limitations already.
DS not working endgame is fair. I agree it should be buffed back up to 5 seconds but having it usable after the gens were done wasn't fair. If the survivor gets unhooked then there's literally nothing the killer can do to counter it and the survivor is guarenteed to just run or crawl outta the door. Same reason OTR deactvates at endgame, though the basekit BT will still ensure they get out if the hook is next to an open door anyhow.
-
You need to be a good looper and you need to be smart about where you go down. Then it's actually still a solid perk. If you just go down in the middle of nowhere or you're a bad looper then yeah it's pretty garbage.
-
Even with the slight rework they did with her she's still bad in chase and absurdly-strong at guarding a 3-gen. Even if you don't play a 3-genning SM you're still gonna want to drone gens or hex totems and not really anything else.
They need to severely lower how strong her drones are near gens but somehow make them actually strong in chase. I've seen people suggest they lock-on to survivors and follow them around, maybe hinder them or something for a duration which then encourages chase and moves the drone away from a gen. Could just have the drone stay floating above the survivor which makes looping a lot harder for them as it's giving real-time location info.
-
Once you rise above a certain MMR level you gain 'MMR Protection' which halves the rate you can lose MMR, basically to stop you deliberatly losing to tank your MMR. This makes it take much longer to actually fall to an easier level.
-
It's a shame too, because as mentioned both new Red Forest maps look way better, but Mother's Dwelling especially still has the same problems it always had, and BHVR has shown that they simply do not have the ability to map balanced maps.
-
Yeah it used to be survivors spamming Eyrie but I guess after it got improved slightly now it's just spamming GoJ. Can't blame em too much since if you have the offerings, why wouldn't you stack the odds in your favour?
-
Had a survivor game the other day with a Feng who kept ratting out where everyone else was and just running behind teammates throwing every pallet. Also had a game yesterday as killer where one of the survivors was ratting out where his teammates were too.
Solo queue is bad enough without people just outright helping the killer :(
-
The devs have stated they do move totem spawn locations every now and again.
-
I've been playing against him occasionally over the past couple weeks and that's a huge boost from 'almost never'. Maybe people are finally realising that he's still an okay killer.
-
Yeah I just had a killer game where two of the survivors brought Crotus Prenn (and got lucky getting Disturbed Ward) and just stayed upstairs in main with Boil Over, No Mither and Flip Flop.
I can't blame them too much since that's basically what you NEED to do to get the challenge done but it's miserable for the killer. Luckily I was SM so I just held a 3-gen and won with neither of them wiggling out.
-
I haven't seen the challenge but I'm guessing you gotta wiggle off with it? The ONLY thing I can think of in solo queue is run it with Boil Over + UB, run upstairs or into a corner and hope for the best. It's crap you've gotta play scummy but if that's what the archive requires it's just a garbage archive.

My escape rate has continuously dropped and I never used DH in my life. I think the more I play this game, the worse I get.
Bear in mind that even if you never used DH, many of your teammates did, and if they can't extend chases for as long now, it's gonna impact your escape rate.
-
Iri Queen does it for you. I think you -can- use double-calm + Distressing + Monitor or Dark Devotion but it's faaar easier to just run Iri Queen and get it first try.

I actually had a game last night that was similar to your experience. They were all 4 good I was attempting to hook each of them (To build my NWO) but there was a chain tile spawn that I personally never seen before on Lery's. There was back to back vaults into rooms, pallet in between, and no doorway to cut them off. I was of course Freddy and his snares just were not enough to shut this tile down. They all ran to it and without bamboozle I could not get them there. I just got the points I could. I did not camp any of the 4-5 hooks I got nor did I camp the hook I got in end game.
Like @Aven_Fallen mentioned camping gets me no where except better opponents (assuming you get kills with the camp) so I see no reason to do it. If you can't kill your current survivors without tunneling/camping why on earth would you want harder ones? There are games you will not play well, stupid maps/tiles will spawn and you will lose. Just go next I just can't understand what people don't get about this. In a game that gives you practically nothing for winning why does everyone have to win so badly? Most of this was not pointed at you OP just the community in general.
I guess it's not that I absolutely MUST get a 3k/4k or else, it's more I want to finish a game at least feeling that I did decent. If I leave a game with only 1 or 2 hooks (or god forbid zero) I'm gonna feel really crap, but if I can facecamp my way to like 4 or 5 hooks and maybe a 1k, it still feels bad, but it takes some of the edge off.
I know against a group like that I'll never actually 'win' unless they're super altruistic and even then they'll need to mess up a LOT, but I just don't wanna end it with a single hook state.
-
Oh of course, the MMR system is pretty dire because it's not uncommon to have back-to-back games with babies and then a 4-man bully squad. I'm just curious what you're really supposed to do when all 4 survivors are simply far better than you.
It's hard to really learn and improve when there's that big of a skill gap because you're not really learning much from just brute forcing loops with bloodlust 3. At the same time I have nearly 3000 hrs in the game. I'm pretty sure I've plateaued as far as my skill is concerned and I'm just not really interested in tryharding to improve. I just wanna have fun and chill.
-
He needs his dream state to actually be threatening. Unless you're a new player it's way better to just stay asleep and do gens then it is to waste time running across the map to a clock.
-
Twins, Artist, Hag, Billy, Freddy, Bubba, Oni, Pyramid Head, Sadako.
All of these killers I have seen at MOST once in my last like 50 survivor games, most of them never.
But I see so SO many Weskers.
-
You get them earlier and for FAR cheaper all in all. Plus I believe the DEEP RIFT recolours wont end up on the store.
-
That's why you run away from teammates if Distortion goes off.
-
Higher killer FOV makes it easier for survivors to get flashlight blinds.
-
People complain about all being left slugged to bleed out for ages, I guess this is their way of 'fixing' that.
-
That's a relief, slugging isn't nearly prevalent enough nor strong enough to warrant such a massive survivor buff.
-
Still no lesbians Sadge.

Admittedly, I have no idea how they'll fix the 3-gen problem. I'm not a game designer so my ability to design solutions is limited, and this is a pretty sticky problem to be sure. All I know is that adjusting SM without adjusting anything else only means the players who want to hold matches hostage move on to a different killer to do it with.
That's a little besides the point, though. The point is that I've seen people say that her design at its core is fundamentally broken and cannot be made to work, and that is what I'm asking for clarification on. The topic of 3-gens aside, Skull Merchant's power design has a fair amount of application, at least in theory- I want to know why people would disagree with me on that.
Her design is basically to be really strong at holding a location down and requiring the survivors to spend time to counter it, while also making themselves more vulnerable while doing so. This strength is counterbalanced by the fact that's she is pretty weak in chase since her drones don't really do much for her besides forcing healthy survivors out of really strong loops. Her Haste from losing drones helps slightly but not enough against strong loopers.
The issue is that holding a single area down and requiring a time investment to get rid of that basically makes 3-genning a no-brainer. Even if you don't want to play around a 3-gen as SM, you should still put drones next to gens because the slowdown from forcing a survivor get rid of it is just so much more value than putting it anywhere else. It doesn't take a massive time investment to dismantle one, true, but you can only dismantle a single one and then have to wait out a timer before doing another, forcing other survivors to also be active in disarming them, which automatically makes this less likely to happen in solo queue.
Also if multiple survivors ARE dismantling them, that's when her Haste starts to stack up, and paired with all the info from her traps, then makes her actually serviceable in chase... buuuut it's still easier to just patrol a 3-gen. You wont be able to drone every single one but you can use what drones you -do- have, if any, and use gen-kicking perks and your trap-locator info to last you until your drones come back.
It's tricky for sure, you need to weaken her drones next to gens but also strengthen them for use in chase.
-
3 gens -are- a thing outside of SM sure, but her kit makes her far better than most other killers in camping them, and that's the issue with her.
Also, what else can they do to combat 3-gens in general? They can make gens spawn further away from each other but with 7 gens that need to spawn there just isn't enough space on many maps to make sure they're all far enough from each other. You could make maps larger but that creates a whole host of other problems for low mobility killers.
And even if they DID somehow make gens spawn further apart, SM could still 3-gen really well because her drones are just THAT good at it.
-
The issue is that a lot of survivor challenges require you to play in a selfish, very suboptimal way to complete them, whereas most killer challenges you do just by playing normally.
-
Devour Hope. The second it flashes up at (hopefully) 3 stacks, everyone should drop whatever they're doing and look for it. You -need- to cleanse it quickly because they're already getting a 4th stack soon since they just got a hook, and god forbid they were hiding it until 4 or 5 stacks.
-
I have close to 60k iri shards and thesedays I mainly use em to buy new characters, not been in the mood to support BHVR financially. In the past I did buy certain skins that I really wanted with them, mainly Mr Puddles Clown, Krampus Trapper and Jane's Game Expo one.
-
I said at the time it'd still be pretty popular because it has a solid effect still. Obviously it lost a lot of usage but if you wanna know where to go after a hook there's few better perks.

If there was a written rule on this "agreement" then sure it could be punishable. Other than that you're just trying to be a dictator on how others should conduct themselves in an online game. Haven't played an online game yet that states what you're saying, most games offer ways to exit the game, for whatever reason.
It's not up to you to decide.
The problem is if anyone can just leave for any reason whenever they want and that's okay then no games would ever happen :p
-
If you're at Iri, maybe gold then yeah that's just not a good enough score to even safety pip.
-
The anti-repeat function is only to stop you getting the same map twice in a row. There's nothing stopping you getting Gas Heaven -> Pale Rose -> Gas Heaven -> Pale Rose -> Gas Heaven etc.
It also only prevents the exact same map twice in a row and doesn't take into account other maps of the same realm, so you could still get RPD West and then directly after get RPD East since they're different maps.
ALSO map offerings screw it all up and prevent it working.
-
Thankfully Wraith was much more garbage-tier back then too so it wouldnt have been that crazy.
-
I mean maybe they were chilling too and getting blinds for fun/bp. It's difficult to really know the intentions of people in this game.

the info as killer its nice but not INSANE tho , i like running that perk on some killers with endgame builds about rotating obsessions with perks like Nemesis , etc and go for mori kills at the endgame with no way out
and as survivor you can get the aura reading for free everytime a gen gets completed, once there is a 1 gen left you should play more stealthy and thats it , ez escape for you unless you are just sprinting into the killers face.
(ALSO THE KILLER CANT SEE YOUR AURA WITH RANCOR )
the only thing visible are the bubble notifications when the last gen pops , and the killer at that point can just GUESS who is the obsession and try to find him. (if not ,you get 0 value)
3.I think this perk is unfair to the Obsession, especially those who got bad luck and accidentally got spotted after 5 gens.
Dude ...there is thing called HUD that tells you when the last gens are about to pop , no only that the HUD shows who is the obsession since the start of the match and on top of that you get 4 chances to know if the killer is running rancor by just seeing the killer aura all the suddent when a gen pops since the start of the match as well.
I dont think the perk needs changes...BUT that just my opinion.
They don't even have to be found after the gens get done. If there's only one maybe two gens left the killer can just camp their body and mori them the moment the last gen is done.
-
To be fair if it didn't have a cooldown then, as you say, it would be pretty busted on Wraith :p

Ayo you do realize this post is 5 years old right XD
And?
-
It's not overly strong but it can feel super unfair. There's also not a huge deal a survivor can do to play around it besides just hide for the last couple gens. Plus some killers can hide their auras and leave survivors unable to even know it's in play.
-
No.

Either they'll release it alongside a reveal or they realised they forget the gay flag and so held back the lesbian flag as well till both were ready.
