There are 'techs' on both sides that haven't been fixed. BHVR has at least shown though that if they deem a tech unhealthy for the game, they'll fix it.
As for your hatred of CJ techs, after the first couple of times you get hit by it, it's pretty easy to counter. That's why it's never been 'fixed'. Unironically skill issue.

Then I'll make sure to never let survivors finish their glyphs before I down them.
You're well within your right to do that, after all survivors don't stop running away when they see a killer getting their glyph mid-chase, it's a double standard.

Don't tunnel.... if you can help it. Especially if they are "bad". Ease up. You get more points, so do they. Everyone has a little more fun.
Idk. When I play I tend to go for points more than for kills. Prolong tye obviously shorter easy games bc "bad"
Just me.
If they were a head-on squad it does make them a little less sympathetic. I've had 'bully squads' who were really bad at it and they do seem the type to DC the moment things aren't going their way. Certainly not the killer's job to go easy on a group who are purposefuly trying to annoy the killer, if what the OP says is true.

There's too many killers that try their hardest to avoid being blind during hook animation. Like dude you aren't going to lose your hook, I just want my challenge credit.
To be fair why should the killer let you get your challenge done?
The harder they make it the less time you're gonna spend on gens.
-
I actually use Whispers on a few killers and it's pretty good (Need to use Tier 3 though).
There are better perks that do the same thing but when the hatch is shut and you're defending the gates, no perk is stronger.
-
I mean 99.9% of the time the killer uses a hidden offering, it's a mori. I guess you don't know what kind of mori it is, but it's usually Ebony and it's not like knowing what it is lets you play around it or anything.
Hiding offerings in general is an outdated feature and just doesn't really do much for the game.
-
BHVR won't put the time into making AI for ever killer who can actually use their powers well. Even the Trapper AI they have in the tutorial is awful.
It would be nice if they added it, but killers don't DC nearly as often as survivors do, so it's not as important of a change.
-
First of all I highly doubt you're going against that build all that often as it's not really meta. Also, even if you are, it's much weaker than it used to be. They won't be Dead Harding nearly as often as they used to be able to, and the DS stun is far shorter and thus they make much less distance, AND they can't use it at all in endgame.
It can still be a decent build but it's much fairer now and I don't really know why you're complaining about it.

There's literally one single person doing a no perks no add-ons streak on nurse and he's the first one to admit that he should easily get at least 3 outed like this. Why is he not? Literally because 99% of survivors are terrible and go in complete panic as soon as a killer plays in a "sweaty" way (proxy camping, tunneling), again, while he's perk less and addonless!
And I gotta say, watching his streak is infuriating because god are most survivors so clueless at this game. So let's nerf nurse to pander to this kind of players
I mean if 99% of players can't play against a good Nurse, that sorta shows she's too strong.
-
To be fair, there are more survivor-sided maps than killer-sided maps.
-
@luvcraft said:
Sure aftercare has unlimited range, but it only effects survivors you've unhooked, and it goes away if you get hooked. Why would you use it instead of bond?
It's map-wide and allows them to see your aura as well. Overall Bond is still more useful but Aftercare is still a decent perk, just requires setup.
-
Because Chucky isn't balanced around being tackled or kicked, and Victor is. It's that simple.
If you want a lore reason, it's because the Entity said so. That sums up every balance decision in the game.
-
She's absurdly-strong and there's not really much you can do to counter her. If the person playing her is good, then 90%+ of survivors are going to lose, fast, against her.
Look at all the "no perks or addons" winstreaks that Nurse players can get. Yes, they're undoubtedly very skilled with her, but those kind of winstreaks should be impossible.
-
I really enjoy the map as survivor or killer, and can do well as either role.
-
Probably buff the stun duration back to 5 seconds. The only change it really needs.
Maaaaybe make it so entering a locker cancels it.
-
I don't handicap myself when playing killer, goodness knows survivors aren't.

Deliverance is so strong that it’s hardly seen in play. Is it even in the top 20 most picked survivor perks? I know for sure it isn’t in the top 10 (META).
Part of that is because it's a perk that can't really BE that meta because if multiple people in a match have it, it gets considerably weaker.
-
I do agree and it's the reason most developers stay quiet, because they'll get hate even if they do give info and roadmaps.
That said, BHVR isn't fully innocent here. They're the ones prioritising things no one asked for and putting off much needed changes. The Twins rework was announced AGES ago and it's STILL being put off as long as possible.
There are killers who haven't gotten changes in years and are in dire need of buffs and they aren't even being looked at. There are dozens and dozens of garbage perks that literally ONLY need simple number fixes to be usable, and the devs refuse to.
I really am grateful that they're giving detailed info of what they're working on and when they're hoping to deliver those changes, but they prioritise some questionable things while ignoring MUCH needed changes.

Based off of this and other comments I've seen you post, it seems you have this mentality that all killer mains = bad and survivor mains = good. Which is very strange because you need both sides to enjoy playing the game if you want the game to be successful.
That aside, I gave 2 good examples of carrots that work. Pain Res and Devour Hope. If a carrot doesn't work, it doesn't mean carrots don't work at all. It just means it's a bad carrot. See Grim Embrace as an example.
He does have a point though. We've seen again and again that even when the alternatives get buffed, killers will still overwhelmingly use these tactics. Killers still mostly tunnel even when more non-tunnelling perks have been released. Even if we encouraged killers not to play for a 3gen, many will still do it as long as it's a strong option.
It's not saying "all killers are bad", this is equally true on both sides, players will play in the most efficient, 'low-effort' way they possibly can, even if it's incredibly unfun for the other side.
I say this as someone who plays more killer than survivor. If there are effective strategies that don't require as much skill, many people will gravitate towards them, and it's mostly a fault of bad game design that there even are tactics that are THIS effective for their skill requirement.
ALL of that said, I am confused as to how they're gonna effectivelly nerf killer-created 3-gens without affecting survivor-created 3-gens, the latter of which is fair and should remain in the game.
-
I find him pretty fun to play but his guard AI is garbage and outright broken in many situations like windows and pallet-drops. His addons are also like 80% garbage.
That said I still generally find him fun to play as and... not terrible to play against.
I think if they gave him an addon pass so more of them were actually interesting and usable, and if they touched up his guards so they worked properly, he'd be really good.
Also more survivors still need to learn that if a guard is camping a hook, you can just aggro it and the second you start the unhook the hunt ends.
-
For the People on it's own has always been strong. It has the potential to allow for some huge plays, but it's one of those perks that kinda requires you to be in a group with survivors who know you have it, and know where to go down etc. In solo queue it's way harder to be able to do that.
With Buckle Up it does allow you to actually get more reliable value out of it in solo play, which is nice, though I do think the pairing is way too oppressive and too easily puts the killer in a lose-lose situation.
If the killer wastes a bunch of time in chase and finally downs someone, only for a survivor to run in and use FTP before the killer's attack cooldown even finishes, what is the killer supposed to do? They can't attack either of them without hitting Endurance and giving them a speed boost. The killer hasn't misplayed in that situation but still gets harshly punished in a way that can completely decide a close game. It's just unfair and often uncounterable.
-
@CatnipLove said:
You know, if killers didn't camp the hook, there'd be no AFC or basekit endurance after getting unhooked.
If they didn't tunnel there'd be no anti-tunneling perks.
If they didn't rely on stalling the match out by kicking gens and refusing to chase anyone, regression perks would not have gotten nerfed.
At some point people need to take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming everyone else. If you keep taking a dump on the floor, don't get upset when BHVR comes in to clean up.
To be fair you can't blame players for using the strongest tools the game gives them. If bad game design means that playing in a 'low skill' 'unfun' way is the most efficient, that's what players are going to do, and it isn't fair to shame them. Heck many players shockingly DIDN'T play in these ways but some of the fixes can still punish them unfairly in certain situations.
Yes, I think it's good that BHVR is actually doing something about these things that isn't just adding a bandaid perk and calling it a day, but I think the worry is that they may be overstepping the mark and 'fixing' things that don't need to be fixed.
-
It's the same reason that Terminus doesn't work against Adren half the time, even though that's literally the entire point of Terminus. The game keeps screwing up the order of things happening when a survivor with Adren is unhooked.
It SHOULD be:
Last Gen pops while the surv is on hook.
Survivor uses Deli
Survivor gets Broken
Adren activates and gives speed boost but can't heal due to broken.
Seems the Adren heal is activating before the Broken from Deli is, which seems to be an obvious bug for me. Same as when it activates before the Broken from Terminus is applied.
Anyone saying it's intended has GOT to be trolling, because it's completely bypassing the downside of Deli, a downside which is required due to how strong Deli is, ESPECIALLY in endgame.

The great variety of perks is something that I wished it was always true. Survivors have many useless perks. A buff to them could be enough to make the meta more fun, diverse and unpredictable. I mean, what's the point of Spine Chill now? Botany Knowledge and Pharmacy (after medkits nerfs), and the penalty on Calm Spirit? Also, Corrective Action, Poised, Premonition, Inner Focus, Dark Theory...so many perks that could use some help
Hey now, Botany Knowledge is still good.
-
To be fair if a survivor is dead at 5 gens (or 4) remaining, there's not really much point for the rest of them to keep playing, is there? The game is done, it would take a pretty big matchmaking blunder for the remaining survivors to have a chance at finishing the gens and escaping.
Sure some people will still try and have fun chases, or do their archives or get more BP but many are just gonna give up and go next where they actually have a shot at winning.
Can't blame people for bailing on a lost game.

Actually it would be better to practice chases more, and you would either get better at chases, or your MMR would drop to where it should be, so that you could handle the chases.
Because doing the "I'm going to excessively hide because it's the only way to win" is just hurting the rest of the team, because it's a toss up between other people getting stuck doing your share of chases, or you losing chases super fast which also hurts the team. And if the killer knows there is a weak link that's bad at chases, then it's the efficient strategy to tunnel that person out of the game.
I don't 'excessively hide', I just run Distortion on certain characters and play stealthy if the killer is coming.
I still do gens whenever I can, still unhook and heal and still do chases when I can't avoid them, but I know my limits and I know despite having so much time on survivor, I simply am not good in chase and never will be. No amount of throwing matches to try and improve in chases will get me any better and it's far better for my teammates if I focus on my strengths instead.
The game isn't all about chases, I hate chases as survivor and don't really like them as killer but I'm good at other aspects of the game, so I focus on those.

Bingo. You also can't retroactively put it on when you realize the Killer is trying to 3 gen. Once you're in the match, it's too late, so equipping something as a counter is not possible.
This should be BHVR's stance on everything. So many issues in DBD have been 'fixed' by adding perks to help deal with them, but you shouldn't -have- to run specific perks to be able to deal with problems in the game's design. Exactly like this example.
Also Deja Vu doesn't help against a killer who has picked out a 3 gen at the game's start and never leaves, it only helps against a survivor-made 3-gen.

The idea is to use it with Furtive Chase or Nemesis.
If you hook Obsession with FC, you get Undetectable + Haste and the scream tells you where to go to find the new Obsession.
If you hook Obsession with Nemesis, new Obsession becomes Oblivious and you get a few seconds of Aura reading.
If you lose the Obsession and end up hooking a non Obsession instead, Friends tells you where to find the Obsession.
This means the Killer is incentivized to keep going after the Obsession so that they can jumpstart their next chase.
I get that, I'm just saying if you run it on it's own it doesn't make complete sense. Perks shouldn't need to be ran with other specific perks after all.

I got all of that from you complaining that people keep telling the killer where you are, when you try to hide in lockers. And that it's happened so many times, that you made a forums post about it.
Why do you think people get mad when you step in a locker? Do you honestly think those survivors feel like you've been doing your fair share of chases?
To be fair some people are just really bad in chases and it's much better for them to hide or run Distortion so that the killer goes after someone else.
I'm garbage in chase even after 3000 hours in the game and instead of going down in two seconds and getting tunneled out at 4 gens left, it's better if I can stay in the game longer so I can get gens done.
-
It's a bit weird because I guess the idea is you hook a non-obsession, then get aura reading and exposed on the obsession so you can down and hook them quicker. But then the obsession changes and screams but you DON'T wanna go after the new obsession because you then won't get the aura-reading and exposed anymore, which is the much stronger part.
You kinda wanna alternate between going after non-obsessions and then the obsession, but that makes the scream part of it pointless.
-
The main issue with Fire Up is that by the time you actually have a bunch of tokens, you don't really need to do most of the things it buffs. You breaks pallets, breakable walls and kick gens mostly towards the start of the game when you don't have many tokens, the only time you're kicking gens a LOT late game is if you're 3-genning.
When you have all 5 tokens you literally will never be breaking walls or kicking gens and probably wont be breaking pallets either.
That only leaves vaulting and picking up survivors which you also won't be doing that often late-game.
It can make flashlight saves harder for survivors at endgame and that's really it's only practical use. You could increase the numbers a decent amount and it would still be bad.
-
If the only thing the perk did was passively regress the gates it would be an awful perk no one would use.
99'd gates can be annoying but they're not so strong that devoting a perk to help deal with them would be worth it. 99'd gates also cause survivor deaths every now and again too so they can actually help killers at times.
BHVR has already said that they don't want to change 99'ing gates because it may cause Endgame Collapse to favour one side more than the other and that's not what they want.

Imagine still claiming Sadako has no chase power as a serious statement.
She doesn't have a chase power though, even now. If the survivor is at a loop and you're playing Sadako, what's your power doing for you?
At best you can try to mindgame with demanifesting/manifesting but against good survivors that doesn't usually work, and is even worse at high-wall loops. Teleporting and condemned do nothing to help chasing. Even when a survivor is fully condemned, you still need to chase them as a regular m1 killer and hit them twice to get the mori.
-
That's actually a crazy amount of shards, like two thirds of a character that's actually really nice, thanks.
-
It's kinda funny how some of the top-tier survivors are rarely ever played. Maria and Sheva it makes sense since they cost a load of money, but I rarely ever see Yun-Jin or even Cheryl.
-
I mean I doubt they're trying to make awful killers, they just don't seem to know what makes killers popular I guess. They clearly have the ability to make good killers but it's a complete shot in the dark if they do.
But yeah every killer after Wesker has been at least unpopular, but not all of them have been outright bad.

DS 5 seconds. Cu later tunnel meta.
While I do think that DS should be buffed back up to 5 seconds, lets not pretend it would fix tunnelling. Tunnelling would still be heavily prevalent and will always be unless they outright prevent it.
-
I don't think BHVR has ever been particularly-good with balancing the game, and they've certainly never improved at it. They're making just as many weird, questionable balance desisions now as they always have.
Why they STILL haven't touched Blight when Spirit has gotten -two- balance passes and even Nurse got something, I've no idea.
-
It may just be that you're bored of the game after playing for so many years. It happens, and doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong with the game. I myself have not really been feeling 'into' DBD all that much for a couple months now but still play it a decent bit.
There's a multitude of issues with DBD but there always has been, and it's currently in one of the best states it's ever been in. That doesn't take away from it's many, long-in-need-of-fixing problems, but if you had fun back when it was even worse, I'm not sure it's the state of the game that's causing this.
After you play any game for a LONG long time, you get so used to and desensitized to every aspect of it that it gets harder and harder to spark that excitement for the game again, it's normal.
-
As for the topic, hiding your username is important to avoid harassment, and this game has a LOT of toxic players who actively stalk you after a game to hurl abuse at you, so it's something that's needed. Before starting DBD I never encountered people who go to such great lengths to make sure you know they hate you, it's weird.

That's so cool! So you can tell people if you want to all stack bloody Partystreamers and ask about loadouts?
You can, though 99% of games is just silence or people saying glhf. And even if you do tell your teammates you are using Deliverance, you likely have a console player who can't see it and PC players who are afk and don't see it.
-
They could make tunnelling outright impossible, by making the most recently-unhooked survivor lose collision for the killer until they do a conspicuous action, or until another survivor is hooked. This would mean they can't be hit by the killer, but also couldn't bodyblock or just sit on gens invincible.
However, if they want to make tunneling impossible, they would need to significantly buff killers as a whole. They'd need to make gens take much longer, or somehow make chases much shorter, neither of which survivors want.
-
How would you 'nerf' flashlight saves? You either force the killer to drop the survivors or you don't.
-
She's a lot better than she was since she can't 3-gen as effectively. She's still one of the stronger killers at holding a 3-gen but not really any stronger than Knight or Hag for example.
She's now a decent bit better in chase but still noticeably-weaker than top-tier killers so at this point I think people are just DCing/suiciding against her from PTSD from how she used to be. If survivors actually stayed they'd see she's a lot better.
Also they're obviously not gonna just delete her, that would set a terrible precedent that if people complain enough they can get killers deleted.
-
I thought I remember the devs a while back saying they want to balance around a 60% kill rate because they want the killer to be more 'feared' than they were back then. They wanted killers to be the 'power role' while still giving the survivors a decent chance to escape.
An asymmetric game doesn't have to have a 50% win rate for both sides.
-
If one of the survivors kills themselves on hook or just clearly gives up then I'll usually get the other 3 survivors on death hook and then let them go. Course some survivors will then just give up themselves or hide and let the others die on hook so it's not perfect.
That or if MMR gives me clearly baby survivors then I'll get them all 2-hooked and let 'em go. (though then my MMR goes down and I'm even more likely to get baby survivors so that kinda sucks too)
-

It's tricky because the trap's detection needs to match the trap itself. If we make it any bigger, you end up with scenarios where the survivor rightfully avoided it (like this one), but the trap 'teleports' to them and catches them anyway.
I mean Trapper is the worst killer in the game and has been for years now. Making his traps both visually and physically 20% larger seems perfectly fair.
-
If you mean who is the most mechanically-skilled killer then I'd say Hillbilly is the hardest, followed by Blight and then maybe Singularity.
'Best Killer' in general is obviously Nurse by a mile.
