Is skill with flashlight actually worth encouraging? Maybe flash saves should change
I know every mid-good killer has been there, where you get in a lobby with flashlight users in a swf who play pc so if they try to flash save they will succeed. They have a 100% flash save rate. Then there's lobbies where someone has a flashlight and when they try to save they can't aim and you can just hit them and punish it. Maybe they don't play pc so they can't aim the flashlight as well, or they're practicing to be good like the cool swf streamers who can always save.
against survivors, who may otherwise be excellent, who can't flashlight save effectively, you pick up survivors 8 times. Maybe 9 or 10 if someone breaks free for other reasons. Against a swf who can save, you may be picking up the same survivor two or three times just for a single hook state. that's multiple chases you have to win with no reward because they have an aiming skill they've trained so they can reliably flash save.
But like. Every time I come back to this game I wonder if that's a skill that's really worth rewarding. What if flash saves were just made easier but nerfed? Let people who aren't good at precision aiming also pull off flash saves but stop the top tier swf players from completely shutting down a killer who doesn't cheese strat look up or face a wall. Why is a major game mechanic so hardlocked behind a high skill curve? And why reward people who can twitch aim a flashlight?

How would you 'nerf' flashlight saves? You either force the killer to drop the survivors or you don't.
....if you are getting flashlight saved three times per match, that's on you.
Either don't pick up the guy when you KNOW there's someone hanging around or face a wall. It's genuinely not that hard.
Just get good man, face the wall when you pick up a survivor or if its in the open just be more strategic picking the moment for the pick up. Someone with flashlight is someone whos not being efficient at doing gens, so thats a win for the killer. We cant complain about every little freakin thing thats in the game, I swear in this forum there is a post about each little thing of the game thats annoying someone.
