The game is SWF sided, killers and solos are on the same level.
-
There are two kinds of people that derank, the ones that do it to bully which I have no respect for and the ones that are generally not having fun and enjoying the game at high ranks which I don't mind because they're not doing it to hurt anyone else and just enjoy the game that they paid for.
-
That's a problem playing killer, you bring a meme build and get a sweaty SWF so next match you bring a strong build and you get a bunch of solos who crouch around the map.
-
I'm not a fan of strider spirit personally but at the end of the day she's blind when using her power so she relies heavily on sound and survivors don't understand how much of a handicap playing spirit is without it if they have iron will.
-
The gen rush is as well so just like survivors are getting gens quick killers are doing the same to compensate. It's been going down hill since hex ruin was changed last year, killers don't have time to play nice anymore.
-
Everyone will say that no one would want to play against SWF and just disable it, which I agree. However that should really highlight a problem.

Wouldn't making up one's own mind including being persuaded and agreeing with someone, though? If the argument convinces more people than not, that's still people making up their own minds. Are you sure you aren't just being contrary for other reasons like maybe you don't like the creator or just don't like being of the minority opinion?
I don't agree one way or another but it sounds like you assume everyone that doesn't agree with you is doing it mindlessly.
No that's not what I'm saying. You can agree with him it's just when people quote him word for word like it's gospel because he said it. This is something even he has said he finds annoying when people do this.

It would still be a 50/50 even if they got rid of the stand still mindgame, most good Spirits don't even do the stand still mindgame and there's still nothing you can do to try and extend chase.
But at least you know what she's doing and can't get a down by standing in one place and doing nothing.

But if you suspect a Spirit is faking her phase, all you have to do is leave the area, it's the least problematic part of her power.
But that's a 50/50 guess not a mind game or something you out play.

No other killer gives 0 visual feedback about what they're doing with their power either though.
That's my point.

Elodie is the worse but it's still not as bad as how kates sounded before. π±

if the stand still mind game is a issue why not just remove her heartbeat when she phases then you know shes phasing but leaves everything else as is.
That's an idea or remove her husk that she leaves behind so she's completely invisible. That way she'd still be powerful and it would be fun to go against.
-
If their gunna give it they've got to know how to take it. That's why I don't bm when I play either role because I know if I lose after I'll feel like an idiot lol.

People respect Scott because he backs up his opinions with genuine facts and evidence, for example the video where he analysed Demogorgons reliance on rat liver and analysed how shredding works frame-by-frame.
Like I said I like the guy and he makes decent points but just like he also says as well he hates when people quote him and his videos and act like a hive mind instead of forming their own opinions.
-
They're just doing their native dance to symbolise the end of the trial. Spin around and enjoy the fun lol.
-
Sadly this is normal, if you're new and want fairer matches I'd suggest deranking to at least get players nearer to your level.

It's more a case of him saying things that others already believe, but making the case more coherently for them.
I have plenty of things I disagree with him on, but this? He's 100% correct.
Also I'd add on that @gibblywibblywoo makes a good point, too. Of course both he and Otz have a bias that will at times show, but they try to be more objective about it even so.
I think they all make great points sometimes I'm just bored of one of them making a video and before you've even seen it there's X amount of forum posts quoting it as gospel.

But they still wouldn't know what to do when she is phasing or where she is (at least somewhat, not the exact location). That is not really going to change the fact that she has no counterplay. It also is so un-interactive for survivors it is insane how she made it on release.
Her gameplay would just be the same for the survivors; just guess and hope you don't die. You cannot counter a killer that gives you just one little cue as to what she is doing and nothing else.
That's your opinion and mines different, I think she's very powerful but she's a necessary evil when you go against strong teams at high ranks. But that's the whole point of my post we should have our own opinions and not just follow the opinion of other people.

@Yords said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2239331#Comment_2239331
So you do think she has counterplay? Because she most certainly is not fine.
Like I said the only issue I have with her is her standing still "mind game".
If they just removed her husk when she phases at least survivors will know what she is doing.

I think I'm tired of that in general. Don't get me wrong I love this communities streamers. I like that they can promote a conversation. I however feel like too many of them promote the wrong conversations. It's the same frustration I have when devs respond to something insignificant versus something with actual substance.
Yeah I'm tired of the same few streamers saying something and then the forums being flooded with posts about well they said it so it must be true.

I disagree. I think that's the most prevalent part of her issue, which is that she doesn't give Survivors any info.
It ties into that for me. If they removed her husk then it would eliminate that "mind game" but also let her still be a powerful killer.

I disagree that the standing still mind game is an issue. You wouldn't move towards any killer who is standing still at the other side of the pallet so spirit should really be no exception there.
But no other kill can be standing still but actually be behind you because they're phasing. I've had issues with spirit in the past but I'm over it tbh, I just think it's silly that one of her best mind games is standing still because the survivor has no idea if she's phasing or not.

I like you!
Lol but no, I talked about this in my own thread but the tldr on the content creator thing is that we ascribe authority to those who are in the same boat as us. Its like being a mini celebrity in a niche community. People will follow and hate you for no reason simply because you have more exposure than the guy with no youtube or twitch stream
I like the guy but I'm tired of everytime he puts out a new video people quote it on the forums like it's gospel lol.
-
Is Scott Jund a dbd overlord because whenever he has an opinion people always praise it as the right one instead of having their own.
The only issue with spirit is the standing still mind game, other than that she's fine.

With all the material they have from the resident evil franchise we can look forward to loads of skins in the future. :)

Yeah, this whole thing is so overblown and stupid. It's like they see Dbd as a dating sim or something π
I honestly don't get it. I'm surviving or I'm killing why do I care what some imaginary characters sexual preference is lol.
-
I'm just trying to survivor or kill tbh I'm not to fussed whether Trapper fooled around with some dudes in his past life when I'm killing survivors lol. I'm gay btw and I'm just not interested if in someone's bio it's says oh yeah they were gay btw.
-
If a team has been clicking and teabagging I will slug for the 4K or if I see the last person when I down the 3rd.
As a survivor I don't mind I just recover and hope for the best and click on a YouTube vid for a couple of mins until I get picked up or the match is over.

I am totally empathetic to that. My appeal was to not be overly negative. They obviously care about the game and interact with the community. Just because they haven't fulfilled what you (or anyone reporting or posting) may consider most important doesnt mean that saying statements like "devs dont care" is warranted. They are not trying to kill the game.
I was not defending things that are broken not being fixed, saying they should ignore them. I was simply trying to reduce toxic or negative posts and encourage that they do engage with the community and they are trying to fix things as evidenced through recent balancing, changes to characters (specifically killers) and their addons, perks, map updates, etc.
Remember they are a smaller company and a smaller dev team. This is not Activision with an army of devs that still regularly ignores players in light of their own plans. This is a smaller community relative to big games and voicing our frustrations constructively will net better results, I believe. Upsetting the playerbase or adding fuel to someone's fire does not help fix anything, and drives a wedge between devs and community.
This is a common problem in EVERY multiplayer online game. They layed out their roadmap and goals in the stream. If people want them to prioritize something else and they get an influx of those requests, do you think they will ignore it? I manage a development team and I can tell you they wont. even if it feels like that or they are slower.
Bottom line, stay true and be constructive... if it is too frustrating, then play other games while you wait to fix or incorporate other hobbies, but stay in the community because it needs strong positive ambassadors, not whiney streamers and brooding forum posts.
After 4 years playing and supporting the game I can say what I like thank you mr Good Samaritan because I've seen the facts presented to me during my long time playing the game. FYI they aren't a small company anymore they are a multi million dollar business now. People who have spent a large amount of time and money supporting this game have a right to voice their opinion in any way they feel fit.

I think it is on us as players to let them know we are okay with less content and more fixes. They are also a smaller dev team and company.... and they are clearly trying with map reworks.... killer reworks... perk reworks.... it is on the user (us) to help guide them and try to be positive.
remember they have years and tens of thousands of hours working on this.... and being negative does not help... imagine working for years on somehting and someone expecting you to change by saying "this sucks, you dont play your game, listen to forums" That has to demotivate you, no matter how much you care about it.... not to mention it is not helpful. I am not saying you did this at all, just hoping people see this and decide to help build up the community.... and YES it is okay to get frustrated.... but I see many more troll or negative posts then posts to help have strong discussions and helpful critique. I hope we all build the community esp with new players coming, dont run them off!
People have been asking for a health patch over a new chapter for over a year and nothings happened. People can only hit their heads against a brick wall for so long until they just give up.

They can still play killer.
They myn't only main survivor and not like playing killer.
-
Baby dweet or baby Meg, if they don't wiggle I'll escort them to the hatch.

No.
-
Trapper and hag because they have to predict where you're going to run to when they place their traps.

That's why most new players ditch killer and just stick to survivor.

Solves the issues with survivor wait times.
By making people who only play solo not be able to play the game, great idea lol.
-
They should remove her husk and make her completely invisible when she goes into phase. This would make her still powerful to go against but would remove the omega mind game of standing still.
-
Yeah removing around 50% of the survivor base sounds like a smart idea.

This is a dangerous lul. The devs have ignored feedback in hopes of just cranking more content and outfits. Their priorities may make them more money in the short term... but they have lost a great portion of the original fanbase. I myself took over a year off. It is frustrating in many games to feel the devs ignore the feedback. but you can look at the meta (non-shift) in this game and see that they do not care about what their playerbase wants in regards to reworks and a fresh meta. It has been the same things for years. they are putting bandaids on a toothpick bridge. It will work in the immediate.... but they should focus more on what made the game great in the beginning and not neglect their iconic characters or continute to create ranged characters that are either too strong 1v1 or unplayable.... both of which they got tons of feedback on.... and seemingly ignored based on updates. I hold out hope, as I love the game... but they have comfortable corner on the market.... which has made them lazy and seemingly more focused on making instant money, despite having no plans for a follow on dbd project.
Yeah they devs know they've created a one of a kind addictive game so by the time someone gets fed up and leaves they've already got dlcs, outfits etc and a new person will just take their place and buy them all over again.

So much this. Hope he succeeds with LoL. I bet streamers like Otz are fed up with this game too but won't risk moving entirely to another game. DbD would lose half their streamers if people would not care about their viewer counts/established fanbase and just be honest with themselves.
You can tell a lot of streamers are fed up with this game but they know if they drop it they lose a lot of viewers. Take monto for example, you can tell he is fed up with dbd but when he posts other videos he doesn't get near the same amount of views.
-
The only times I don't like SWF is if they all split up on gens and try and end the match in minutes.
-
Stale gameplay, long wait times and a negative community. Either one or all of the above.

The idea is that if they only allow killers to have 1 regression perk slot, they could buff all regression perks so they're all viable by themselves.
Killers could have some variety in their builds for once instead of having to stack Pop, Ruin, Corrupt, Surge, etc.
It's an idea but I don't think the devs would make any meaningful buffs where it wouldn't hurt killers in the long run when trying to keep gen speeds down, especially with some of the huge maps.
-
any average killer who hits high ranks wouldn't stand a chance without a decent gen slowing load out with how fast gens fly. Limiting this would hurt a lot of killers.
