I've been playing killer for a bit now, i'm green rank y'know, but this has happened some times, it's kind of insane, doesn't get to me tho, i kinda really don't like how they wait too long when they open the gates, just leave okay lol.
But this game, it was pretty well coordinated, all flashlights, and as i passed through lockers they were stunning me.
Yeah you got screwed by bad matchmaking and even worse it was a 4 man SWF as well so this was bound to be painful for you and they were taking advantage of that instead of cutting you some slack which is kind of gross but some teams are just like that sometimes. Hopefully MMR will work this time around and you can go against people your own level and be able to rank up and learn the game properly.
-
Matchmaking screwed you man and it really does suck that a newer player has to deal with this.
Going into these kind of matches right now really screws you over but don't let it discourage you and just try your best to learn from these kind of matches because eventually you will get to a level where you live for these kind of matches as killer and you'll know exactly what they are planning and exactly how to deal with it.
-
The add on is only really OP in the right hands. A bad huntress isn't OP with it but a good huntress certainly can be, but then again that's probably why a lot of huntress mains just collect them and never use them because they know it's gunna be a pretty quick match if they do.
I have to admit though I'm kinda worried about when it's officially announced they are about to get changed because a lot of good huntresses are going to be clearing stock and upsetting some survivors ππ
-
I don't mind them that much they just need some tweeks with how long the exhaust you for because they were designed when you could recover exhaustion in chase so if they dropped the numbers down they would fit with how the game is balanced now for exhaustion.
-
If a killer wants to tunnel they are going to tunnel so no because they will do it if you go down at 5 gens or with 1 left. Some killers may only tunnel you if they need to but these are usually the more experienced killers so they would have left chase with you long before that happened.

I understand that they have to do a lot of things, but the rate at which they are reworking perks is too slow.
If you include the last two patches and ignore the new perks, only 5 perks got changed, 3 of which were simple number changes. 5 perks out of 164. That's a perk change almost every 17 days of work. I don't believe it takes 17 days to decide to increase Iron Maiden's exposed time by 15 seconds.
My suggestion is for perks like those, where they can change the numbers a little and see how it performs. In the chance that it's too strong they can revert the change quickly by returning the perk to its previous version.
Like I said I agree it would be a great idea but they would also need to do a PTB for the changes like they do now to make sure they are not under or over powered and that also takes 2 weeks so players are able to see how they go with other perk builds and they need to see if they aren't a abusable in any way which takes time. Plus obviously we're still in a global pandemic atm to they got to do everything from home which has to make it a lot harder so it would honestly be asking to much right now tbh.
-
There isn't anything wrong with using the best perks at your disposal when you play either side if you have it and you want to use it go for it.
Id just say go into each match and judge the survivors and how you need to play from there. If it's a bunch of solos that aren't playing very well and aren't being toxic and just trying their best then just play a bit more chill no need to camp or tunnel because you're comfortable in the fact you're gunna win either way and just have fun and take advantage of the fact you're able to have a fun chill game.
However if it's a SWF who are smashing the gens and/or being toxic and you can tell this is going to be a really tough match then go full force, camp, tunnel, slug and do whatever you need to do man.
-
Yeah I have to admit I appreciate the devs and think they try their best most of the time but they have some shady ways when it comes to stuff like that, especially when they have created that bug in the first place.
Remember infinite mending legion when his add ons were busted and instead of removing them until they fixed them they banned people for using add ons that were in the game lol. They really need to do better when it comes to stuff like this.
-
It's a great idea but currently within 3 months of a new chapter they have to
- come up with new ideas for killers
- new perks for them and survivors
- design the new killer and survivor
- design new cosmetics for both of them
- fix existing bugs
- fix new bugs brought in from the new chapter
- redesign maps
- creating new rifts and all the rewards
- create a new tome and challenges
- buff or nerf a killer or even both
- Nerf and buff perks
- nerf or buff survivor items and/or add ons
And there is probably more stuff tbh so believing they could do that each week could kind of be wishful thinking at this point. At the minute we get changes every 1.5 months with mid and new chapters so it's not to bad but I don't think it would be possible to do more without considering things properly and making the right decisions on the changes they are making.
-
I done it plenty of times if the killers tried their best to play fair and just had a tough match I will walk to a hook and let them kill me. For every toxic player in this game there is a player who just wants everyone in the match to have a fun match on either side. You can't judge everyone the same way it isn't fair on them or you because it makes you start resenting people without a reason to do so.
-
You bruised his ego lol That's the problem when some people hit a certain skill level in this game they think they should win every match and if they don't then it's the camping tunnelling trash killers fault lmao
-
I decided to have a proper gaming session yesterday played all day and my wait time was instant all morning and afternoon even at peek times from 6pm - 11pm when I called it a day the longest I waited was around 45 seconds maybe 1 min max. I'm on the EU server if that makes a difference and maybe these comments are from a different region but honestly I don't understand where all these posts are coming from. Is it killer mains in disguise trying to scare the devs lol or are people over exaggerating. I've never waited longer than 5 mins for a survivor match in my entire time playing the game and I'm at devotion lvl 12 so I don't understand.

Last time with MMR me as a red rank solo surv was getting rank 10-20 team mates. No thanks.
I was the same when it went live but we can only hope it works otherwise we're just gunna have to accept that we're gunna get paired with newer players sometimes.
-
Solo survivor can be painful at times but let's be real a lot of that pain comes from the survivors in our team not just the killer but yes there are a couple of killers/add ons etc that could use some tweaks but also there are things that are unfair for the killers that they are right to complain about. I'll admit one or two killer mains may post some things on here that you can only roll your eyes at but most of them actually make fair points when you've played both sides and put yourself in their shoes. The only people that shouldn't be complaining is SWF 3-4 mans they just need to take a seat lol.
Also BBQ op? I mean come on now a perk with multiple counters is overpowered...really π
-
Because not everyone is that good at playing survivor. Yes some of us know these things but a lot just simply don't and the problem is dbd loses just as many old players as new ones that start playing which means you're always going to be paired with newer solo survivors at most ranks ( I got rank 5 by day 3 when I started).
The sad reality is solo life is painful and no matter what we're always going to get paired with survivors less experienced than us so we either play SWF or we just have to deal with it and accept that it is what it is.
New MMR soon though I mean last time they tried it was not good at all but we can only keep our fingers crossed and see what happens.

A lot of people who play killer understand that she is pretty unbalanced compared to the other killers and don't feel fair using her. Even Scott Jund has said he finds her fun to play but unless he is going against a top SWF team or people he knows to be toxic he isn't playing her because it makes him feel bad because they don't stand a chance. Same with otzdarva who did 50 win streak on multiple killers and said when he did spirit it was by far the easiest and there were maybe 2 matches out of 50 where he actually felt challenged.
Also with the amount of survivors that dislike her means a lot of matches they will either dc or just run at her get downed and suicide on hook then everyone else in the match does the same so there isn't much point playing her when everyone gives up from the start.
-
To be honest it sounds like you have hit a wall with this game so you're fed up and are giving up trying in matches. It's okay though most players get like that at some point so I think the best thing to do at this point is to just take a break away from the game then either come back when you really do want to play the game again or if you don't want to just move onto a different game that's okay as well.
The best advice I can give you is to just be okay with going down sometimes and just try your best, even the best players make wrong reads and mistakes sometimes no one can play perfectly every match.
I more solo survivor than killer and I'm at devotion 12 atm so I've learnt tips and tricks going against different killers which are essential, although a lot can be transferred to most killers in the game you sometimes just have to tweak your play style a little depending on which killer it is. Also always remember that if you go against one huntress for example and then another after them the next players play style can be completely different so every match you just have to feel out how they play and adjust. Run to a pallet and instead of dropping it run straight through it and see what she does if she raises her hatchet or runs straight through it and then use that info to plan what you will do at the next one. Also see if any killer you are facing respect pallets and use that to your advantage and try to change up your play style throughout the match to keep them on their toes so they aren't able to read you as easily.
If you want to continue with matches try perks like windows of opportunity to plan routes better, dead hard to correct a bad read. Also don't be afraid to try and incorporate stealth during chases to. Try perks like iron will which can help to lose the killer mid chase and help to pull off some plays you wouldn't be able to do without it. Even perk combos like dance with me, quick and quiet and lithe to disappear mid chase or at least gain a good amount of distance before they figure out where you've gone.
I hope this all helps but just try and go into each match positive and try your best and try not to give up, I've had many matches that I thought I was deffo going to lose but managed to pull it back and escape. Good luck in the fog :)

The game, all dlcs and rift passes and cosmetics probably around Β£200 at this point. Sometimes I feel like the only reason I keep trying to play this game is because of the amount of money I have spent on it lol.

When I play survivor I have no issues with bbq. Besides there are multiple counters like hiding behind a gen, lockers and even just getting within 40m of the hook. You even have perks to hide your aura so I doubt it will be nerfed with all this to deal with going against it.
-
I have only ever come across three types of claudettes before.
- The baby default Claudette - This innocent creature has no concept of looping and struggles with even simple tasks such as hitting skill checks which if she misses she must run and hide immediately just like when she hears a faint heartbeat in the distance.
- The more common Blendette - These ninja like beings are equipped with a full load out of perks to best suit her powers of invisibility as well as her trusty key to help her when all else fails. She crouches from bush to bush around the map and her only interest is gens. If she does get caught by the killer once you save her from the hook she quickly retreats to the nearest corner to self care for an hour or so before finding the hatch and letting you die on the hook while you curse her name.
- The worst of all claudettes the dreaded Claudarinas - These savage beasts only interest is to cause suffering to all killers and survivors in their efforts to emulate their master the dreaded ochido. No killers retinas are safe around her and survivors should avoid her at all costs as she is equipped with her beloved bond and ooo perks making sure where she goes the killer follows and she is on her way to your gen to cause havoc. She should never be followed when the killer is around due to her ability to body block at any given time. Also she can never give up an opportunity to play her favourite game FarmVille as she will run at you on the hook while the killer is around and get you straight off of there with no concept of anything such as BT so unless you have DS prepare for death as it is imminent. Once the match is over they are usually found either at an exit gate or over an open hatch repeatedly butt dancing until the killer approaches as she must say goodbye and also assert her dominance over the poor soul she has tortured throughout the match.

After reading this thread I put my flashlight on my phone and proceeded to shine it in my eyes and then look up. I can say it would work in reality however I am very disappointed in myself for taking the time to find this out ππ

I had someone spam me for several hours with party invites π€£, not going back to PS4
Just change your messages to friends only like I did, best decision I ever made honestly. Plus it's always satisfying seeing a friend request after a match and knowing that there's some salty person trying so desperately to say what they want to say and not being able to ππ

Well I dont think thats true. I mean In my world a 45+ second DS after the killer hooked somebody else is too strong. But I have never met a survivor that didnt use it even with only one second left on it.
I know the devs just made it 60 seconds, but either every survivor abuses it in some way or no survivor does. The perk is just designed in a way it should be abusable. Its just complicated...
I mean how can you call something abusable if its used the way like its programmed to be?^^'
What I mean by being happy to not use isn't that I purposely miss it I mean that I have gone somewhere healed and got back into the match and the timers already ran out.
I think most people think though that if you're jumping in lockers or going for the unhooked person in front of the killer etc to force a grab then that's pretty abusable which is why a lot of people agree certain actions should take away ds, myself included who plays survivor more than killer aswell.
-
If you're losing then go ahead do what you need to do to pull it back and get a win. However if your dominating clearly weaker survivors before any gens have even been done then it is kinda crappy to use tactics like that when it's not necessary. When I play killer I don't tunnel and take the opportunity to have a chill game and get a load of bloodpoints. Besides if I was to play like that then the survivors are likely to just give up and think why bother and dc or suicide on hook and that isn't fun for anyone.
-
I think there should always be an obsession in a game no matter what perks are brought by either side. There is a big difference in my survivor matches when there isn't one and it usually involves the match being much less enjoyable especially when you are playing solo. I understand some survivors may abuse ds but the majority just bring it to avoid having their matches cut short and feeling powerless to do anything about it if the killer decides to hard tunnel them. Also in all honesty I don't use ds every match but when I do it's the only perk I ever bring that I'm more than happy to never have to use in a match.
