You don't need an excuse to play like that, so long as you're playing how you want to play that's all that matters.
-
This is what people believe when they only main survivor. If they only tried playing killer so many of their thoughts about the game would instantly change.
-
Lack of decent competition from other games in the horror multiplayer genre.
-
So basically destroy them so no one plays them anymore even though so few do already.

You can call her whatever you want. Fung is still spelled like Feng. Just because you want every word to be spelled how it sounds, doesn't make you correct.
Basic English language says that f.e.n.g is pronounced feng so yes I am correct.

Then you're aware that transliterations are not perfect, particularly when they're from east Asian languages into English. "Feng" is simply a bad transliteration of the original, Mandarin name; it should be "Fung", or close to it.
That's why we need to use IPA when discerning how to pronounce a transliterated word, instead of relying on the (usually poor) quality of the transliteration itself.
Then if they change it to fung I'll call her that but it's feng so I'll call her feng.

The question was "Do you know what a transliteration is?", which is a simple yes/no question. What you asked (because that's a question, despite mistakenly having a period at the end) is not an answer to the question, nor any other question I've asked.
Yes, now how does that change the fact that I have said.

@Orion said:

Why are you dodging the question?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231558#Comment_2231558
Transliteration, not translation.
I answered what does a translation change the fact that f.e.n.g is pronounced feng in English.

Idk man, @Orion had a more persuasive argument.
What does a translation change the fact that in English f.e.n.g is pronounced feng.
-
@Orion said:

So that's a "no" to the question I asked?
So that's a no to you accepting facts.

Indeed, but you still haven't told me if you understand what a transliteration is.
I understand that F.E.N.G is pronounced feng in English and that's just a fact.

Already covered this. An accent is not the same thing as using a different word altogether.
We are talking about all names not just the one you keep referring to.
-
@Orion said:

One example is as good as another. I chose that one because I don't have the letters on my keyboard to spell "Feng Min" in Mandarin (since you're going off of the transliteration, and I'd have to show you how the name is actually written), and copy/pasting gets boring.
No every name will be pronounced differently in a different accent from anywhere around the world.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231362#Comment_2231362
We're not talking about accents, though. No accent going to make you pronounce "Joseph" as "Josè"; those are just two different (albeit similar) names.
We're talking about other names than just that one.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231348#Comment_2231348
Pronouncing it with an accent is not the same thing as pronouncing it following another language's pronunciation rules or just using a different word altogether (for example, "Joseph" is not "Josè"). See the edit in my previous comment.
Even if another native speaker is using English they're still going to say the word with there own accent and not an English one. England has got lots of different accents so words and names are said differently all over but no one is saying then wrong they're just saying them in their accent.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231323#Comment_2231323
I understand your point perfectly. I'm saying you're wrong. An English word with a correct English pronunciation doesn't stop being an English word with a correct English pronunciation just because a Spanish person is pronouncing it incorrectly with a Spanish pronunciation. "Car" is pronounced "car", no matter the speaker's language.
Names are pronounced differently all over the world. My name sounds different when said from anyone in wales, Scotland or Ireland but no ones pronouncing it wrong that's just how they say it.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231283#Comment_2231283
No, some names have equivalents that are different in other languages, or can be pronounced incorrectly by people who impose their native tongue's pronunciation onto foreign names. However, your name is "Joseph", no matter the speaker's language, and it is pronounced "Joseph", no matter the speaker's language.
But that's the point that's their native tongues pronunciation of the name so that's how it is said in that language.

Because your grandma is making two very common mistakes:
- Assuming that you can translate names
- Assuming that names that are equivalent in two languages can be translated between them
I used to make these mistakes as well, just for the record.
Some names just sound different in other languages, my cousins called Ryan but pronounced in Spanish it sounds like Brian lol.
-
So the reason queues are long because not enough are playing killer is because it's to easy to get everyone and win..... doesn't add up tbh.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231166#Comment_2231166
Then why is the name Joseph not pronounced the same in Spanish.
It is. You must be thinking of "José", which is the Portuguese and Spanish equivalent of "Joseph". They're different names, though, because you can't translate names.
I'm part Spanish and my name is Joseph but my grandma doesn't call me Joseph she calls me josè.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2231153#Comment_2231153
That's a transliteration, not how the name is actually spelled in the original language, and the correct pronunciation of a word doesn't change depending on the language of the speaker. The English word "car" is pronounced "car", whether said by someone from the UK, Brazil, Lesotho, or New Zealand. Because it is an English word, and has a (correct) English pronunciation.
Then why is the name Joseph not pronounced the same in Spanish. If you say the letters f.e.n.g in English it's pronounced feng not fung.
-
@Orion said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2228149#Comment_2228149
That's not how pronunciation works.
Yes it is because in the English language those letters together is pronounced feng.
-
Maybe that's just how they decided to play that game because of the map, team or just because they wanted to.
-
I've seen a few to be fair, now when I go into a match against him it's a 50/50 whether he's really good or not.
-
Nah it's just messing around while playing a video game. People just seem to take this game way to seriously sometimes.
-
Reporting them for farming is a waste of time, no one has been banned for farming. Just rush the gens and move onto the next match.
-
Depends on the killer you're playing and also how good the survivor is. For every survivor that's really good in chase there's a potato survivor that will go down in less than 10 seconds.
-
Rizzos one of the good ones ❤️
-
I haven't noticed more than usual, just the odd killer going afk to derank.
-
They're exactly the same apart from not being able to do crazy unrealistic 360's.
-
If you're Chinese yes but if your English no.
-
Delete pity hatch, problem solved.
-
Depends on the survivor, some do it just to bm and annoy the killer like clicking or tbagging at the pallet, some just do it to mess around and have fun and not take the game seriously.
-
Potato legion and stalky boi
-
All the good killers would just get dodged and people would only play against low tier killers.

define "really well" just because you get 4 kills fast doesnt mean you played well. Just means the survivors sucked.
If you got a 4K fast then you got the best outcome you can get out of a match as quick as possible. Whether the survivors were bad or not that's the best outcome you could have gotten from that particular match.

Clearly it doesn't stop anyone from doing it, people still DC
Yes and they get banned so they can't do it again for a while and if they continue to do it then they will get banned for 3 days at a time. This stops people from having to have them spoil their matches and makes them either stop doing it so they can play the game or stop playing.
-
The penalty holds you accountable and stops you from doing it again because you don't want a longer penalty. If you don't like it then that means it's working as intended.

Wouldnt be that surprising that playstation would ban you for saying your gay or whatever along those lines. Ive been banned for less.
Sony wouldn't ban someone for saying they're gay. This persons trolling.

I think it’s a little different. I’m going to play devil’s advocate here. Heterosexuality is not being celebrated with heterosexuals month, heterosexual parades, or heterosexual-themed items, etc. You hear some people say they feel like this LGBT stuff is thrown in their faces/flaunted/crammed down their throats or whatever. They may feel uncomfortable about the subject, it may be against their religious upbringing, and they may just be tired of demands to see it acknowledged and celebrated everywhere, even in a horror game they bought to murder some people with Freddy. Im more neutral and don’t particularly share these same beliefs or anything, but hopefully you are at least capable of understanding a little why some people are not super crazy about the idea of LGBT events and items in the game.
Because heterosexuals haven't been hung from trees or dragged through the streets or killed because they were heterosexual. Heterosexuals aren't an oppressed minority so they don't need to have any of those things.
-
I don't believe a word of it.

I agree, I'm not arguing against that!
I'm just saying that I as a gay man have a different experience than a trans woman, for example, and that's perfectly valid. Neither one of us are any less LGBTQ+ it's just sometimes nice to have something that better represents your unique experience (such as a trans flag charm).
I just understand for a long time we have all stood together fighting for equal rights and trying to create a better world for those that come after us. The world already separates us so we come together as one which is what the lgbt community was originally created around, united we stand because divided we fall.

Absolutely! You're completely correct that we're all one community.
However, I think it's important to recognize that while we're all LGBTQ+ we don't necessarily share the same privileges, struggles, experiences etc. Being trans comes with a different set of obstacles than being gay, for example and I think it's helpful to acknowledge that. Even if that just means having a trans flag too.
We all stood together at stonewall and we stay together now.
-
All you can do is feel sorry for people like that who flex about how good they are at a video game lol. It's probably the only thing they're good at tbh. 😂😂
-
As someone who plays huntress and has my hatchets hit someone square in the face and sees blood yet doesn't do any damage I have to disagree lol.
-
It's about doing as much as possible as a teammate within a match. Same goes for killer, if you play really well and end the match to fast you don't pip.
-
Just go on YouTube for a few mins and let them waste their own time. We don't need a button that will be abused by salty players who don't wanna get a dc penalty. Besides getting purposely slugged for the full time is rare, I've been playing 4 years and this has happened less than 10 times to me.
-
Trans is part of the lgbt flag though, we are all in this together.
-
I love the way it looks but it's just way to big.
