Are you new?
-
Oni is fun and a good killer who's pretty easy to pick up or plague for her perks.
-
Because you went AFK they myn't have thought you gave up and felt bad for you and wanted to be nice.

But that's the most efficient way to play survivor. If competent solo players had Bond as basekit, they'd probably do the same. This is why Shroud of Binding should be a killer offering and Shroud of Separation should be a survivor offering
It is the most efficient but if all the survivors split up from the start the killer pretty much loses unless the make a big mistake and you can snowball. It may be the most efficient but it's the least fun to go against, just like tunneling someone out at the start is for killer.
-
You make this game sound like The Color Purple lol.
-
Why should the other people in a match suffer because you're internet isn't that good.

No one thinks the deathslinger is op...
There's a difference between "not fun" and "op needs to be nerfed"
I think you exaggerate too much
Am I suppose to care what you think?

I- what?
I said "That's not what you said" because in response to my point you made a completely different point irrelevant to the one I made to counter your original point
I gave you a decent response because people do go against killers that are considered strong and as soon as they lose to one they forget that they beat X amount and go on about how they're op. Clown and weaker killers aren't considered OP by the common narrative so they don't say that because they know people would shut them down for saying it. But hey that's just my opinion from what I've seen and experienced which I'm entitled to have.

yeah because everyone says clown is op and needs a nerf asap right?
No because that isn't the common narrative pushed by people.

So they'd be the same type of person complaining if they stepped on a bear trap at the killer shack, huh?
Pretty much and the same type that run in a straight line against nurse and then say she's impossible to go against.
-
Using in game tactics aren't toxic or unsportsmanlike, saying people shouldn't play that way and play in a way that's fun for you is entitled.
-
The problem is they can go against a certain killer numerous times and loop them and it's fine, but as soon as they go against someone that uses them well and beats them they're OP and need to be nerfed.
-
The matchmaking is the major problem here but it's always been an issue in this game, hopefully when MMR eventually comes in this won't happen but we'll see.
As for the tunneling they're rank one so they know the power of targeting and getting out the weak link to try and slow down the game. Sadly this does suck for newer players but it's a pretty viable tactic when playing killer.
-
I can't help it I just want daddy Myers to stick me with his big pipe.

Ayyy. Got 3 hooks. 2 of hooks were from being trapped. They knew 90% of my traps and Disarm,DH,avoid.
Obsession Steve knew he had Rancor so he disappear in end game. Other wise he body block his team mate to weaken STBFL, the stack barely reached to 3 tokens. Noed destroyed 10sec after 5 Gen done. Blood warden didnt have a chance to activated.
It makes you wonder why survivor queues are so long doesn't it lol.
-
It was spirit but now after the buffs I hate wraith the most and would rather go against 5 strider spirits in a row over a wraith.

You mean the bugged lunge that was short and broken because it did nothing? Or the fix where they patched it after the rework to work as intended?
I mean the long lunge that was put in when he was buffed and myself and some content creators thought was a bug but still made it into the live version.
-
No thanks I don't want to have to deal with survivors doing gens in my face because they have a full minute of invulnerability. Now the perk works perfectly for if you're actually being tunnelled.
-
That's the reason some of them do it so they can bully low rank killers. A lot of the toxic squads usually have a smurf on their team.
-
I don't care about going against bully squads or anything like that, the only time I hate going against a SWF is if they actively split up on separate gens and try and make the match end as quickly as possible.

I think the "random" idea would help break this mentality and stigma. It would feel more like a group que and one person takes Killer for the team.
I could see possible abuses. Perhaps a long penalty for denying Killer role?
If they joined as a group of 5 though they'd likely just play KYF, as for a penalty no I don't think that would ever happen because it wouldn't be fair to force someone to play a role they don't want to play. But even if they did they would just work around it and then just farm if they ever got killer which is equally as boring tbh.
-
I think the problem is there are survivor mains out there that only play survivor because they genuinely hate killer. This would mean that they would likely just go afk and not play the match if they end up in that role and making the match boring for everyone involved.

Nobody is toxic for playing a killer, well except them rank 20 noobs that just play Wraith so they can face camp those kids are pretty toxic and if you counter them with BT they go mental in chat saying either I was T0xiC or hACkiNG.
Face camping isn't toxic, trash talking someone who does it because you don't like it is.

It's not my approved list lol there are just some things that are more overpowered than others. Freddy for example has a 75% kill rate in the average red rank game. Meaning that even an average Freddy will get 3 out of 4 kills in a typical red rank game. Most people don't play Freddy because he's that fun, he's objectively unfun having an uncomplicated kit, they play him because they know they can get 3/4 kills every game especially with builds that make it even harder to play against. Those people are toxic, specifically going out of their way to ruin games and not even have any fun in the process, do you not agree with that?
Trying to win is toxic. Okay gotcha. ๐๐ป
-
No mither because you're always injured and the only upside is you can pick yourself up when the majority of killers know this and won't leave you slugged.
-
Its toxic because people are way to entitled when it comes to this game. I've never played another online game before where one side feels like they can dictate how the other side plays to make the game fun for them.

It's weird, the complaints I got from survivors happened even if we WON.
The first post-match feedback I ever got, when I was like a week new to the game, was when I was sent to Lery's hospital for maybe the second or third time. The opponent was Demo. I didn't know the map and, I guess, did stay a bit more on the periphery than I should have. But I tried to contribute, I tried really hard to find gens while Demo was skilled enough to get one player to ragequit almost immediately, bringing us to a huge disadvantage right from the start. Meanwhile I'm trying to learn the layout, find the gens, avoid the killer, and a much more experienced player is doing the gens before I can find them. So the match ends (we lost), the KILLER says good game and even apologizes for our disconnect, but all the other remaining survivor has to say is "wow, what a ######### team. One DC and oh hey Mike thanks for just hiding all match while I did all the gens. Useless".
Then, on some other day in some other match, we win, but that's still not enough. "Hey Meg, good job not contributing to the match at all", despite the fact that our point totals were like a thousand apart.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2244647#Comment_2244647
You ARE correct about this. I find complaints about "genrushing" equivalent to complaints about the killer hitting a person again right after they've just been unhooked. I mean that's what they're supposed to do, isn't it?
What does "genrushing" even mean? It sounds like a catch-all buzzword that simply means "the survivors are effective and I don't like that". I mean I prefer to explore and check out the layout for a short time myself but what are survivors supposed to do, wait an arbitrary amount of time just standing there until the killer feels that they've had an adequate chance to get a few hooks in?
I've been playing for a long time and I get matched with players who I can tell are pretty new and I just try my best to help them as much as I can. I can't resist trying to protect a baby Meg or dweet especially lol.
Sadly some people just take this game way to seriously and talk crap about newer players who are learning the game but they forget that we were all new once. I can still remember playing as a blendette years ago hiding in the corners to self care and thinking empathy was the best perk in the game. ๐

Yeah my time in the game is relatively low, perhaps incredibly so compared to some (about 400 hours) but I think it's interesting that across 400 hours and hundreds upon hundreds of matches, I never had a killer say one negative thing to me ever. Meanwhile I've had probably a dozen survivors make sure I knew that they didn't approve of something I did, or didn't do. Or the killer, or the match, or almost anything.
Yeah it's kind of crazy that some survivors seem entitled enough to tell you how you should be playing as killer or survivor. You bought the game so play how you like they're usually just mad because they lost that match so they need someone to blame other than themselves.

Its really hard for me or really anyone to believe that when 90% of what your saying is: "Content creators said X is real so it must be real."
Please reread your own comments as it really freaking hard to believe this is coming from your own experiences with how much you seem to rely on the word of content creators.
And I also said my own experience so it comes from both. I've played this game for four years I knew his lunge was buffed when he was buffed content creators simply backed that up and confirmed I was right.

It's funny, the only complaints I've gotten from killers about how I "should" play has been here on the forum. In-game I have never gotten anything negative from a killer. Nothing. Nada. Not one comment that could be construed as even the slightest bit rude in any way. On the contrary, my nicest post-match conversations have been with killers.
Survivors? In-game? Pissing and moaning.
Yeah the only time a killer has complained to me was if I was playing a stealthy build which is silly because even though I don't do it often it's still a legit playstyle, or I've had the occasional accusation thrown at me that I'm in a SWF even though I only play solo.
Survivors though whenever they complain it's usually when they've made the most silly plays like trying to get hit when they have BT and then calling you a tunneller because you waited it out and downed them lol.

Sounds like you can't have your own opinion nor do your own research on the topic as all of mine research points to nothing having changed.
People are fallible including the creators you seem to worship.
So get your own opinion instead of echoing what they have said.
I just said my own experience of playing the game for four years or did you just ignore that.

It's been a while since I've seen the movies but I think Laurie is his step sister, so I'd assume it's the same in the game if that's their lore.

You probably just never saw Wraith enough to notice how strong his post stealth lunge is.
Literally nothing has changed about it from everything I could find on it. You're just seeing it enough to notice as pretty much no one but tru played Wraith.
So people who play this game for a living and pretty much play him daily just made it up. Okay gotcha ๐๐ป
-
That's why if the other sides bming I always wait till I know I've won to do it back so I don't feel embarrassed if I lose lol.
whether it's tbagging at the exit gate or slapping the last tbagger on the hook as they die. ๐

His post stealth lunge is literally unchanged from the buffs.
It was changed because I watched content creators comment on it thinking it was a bug and it wouldn't go live, but it did.
-
Right now my killer matches are instant and I'm only playing them because it's 10+ mins to try and get a survivor match.

I've actually had several people on this forum tell me that I'm playing wrong by trying to avoid interactions with the killer, as if it says in the game's nonexistent instruction manual that running past the killer and playing tag is rule number five. I play conservatively and it's become quite tiresome to hear killer mains talk about how I'm making their game not fun because in their estimation I just "crouch" or "hide".
So I need to revise my answer. In gameplay experience and general comments I've seen on the forums, survivors seem the most entitled. But, again in my own experience, it's the killer mains who are the most fervent and aggressive about their opinions.
These are all just broad, subjective analyses anyway.
I don't know in four years I've been told how I should play by hundreds of survivors. It's pretty rare a killer complains about my gameplay in comparison.
-
Wraiths buffs were great from him apart from the crazy lunge, that's just to much.
-
I find killers are louder but make more valid points where survivors say the same things about how killers should play in a way that's fun for them which is pretty damn entitled.
-
I'm bored of reading the same crap everyday.
