Learn to get good.

Tbh the reason people are hating on Xeno is simply just because it's kit is so good at tunneling and most of them are doing it. It's worst than other killers cause it doesn't feel like it takes any effort at all.
A tunnelling Xeno just holds forward, and they run you down over and over, knowing you can't touch turrets, pallets or windows. If you try to mind game, they just don't swing and m1 instead, and so many players use this strategy its extremely frustrating as a survivor.
If played normally, Xeno is fine, and lots of fun... but for every game you get with a decent Xeno who plays fair and makes a game of it, it gets followed up with 3 more where Xeno tunnels like they're trying to hit China.
It's extremely unfun, and you can't even shrug it off and go next... cause next is the same as well.
I don't have this problem when I go against him. I use pallets,and windows just fine. To me he is really fun to go against. We all don't share the same sentiment as you. Don't say he's not fun when a lot of us actually enjoy this DLC.
-
This killer isn't really that strong. A popular streamer even said he's basically C tier which I agree. The problem is there just so many baby survivors who aren't good at the game so they will complain at every little thing.
-
Surprisingly there hardly any videos about him on YouTube. I would think the streamers would want to make content about him but guess not
-
That's your own opinion. I have a lot of fun going against him.
-
Killer not OP. It's just you.
-
I don't know what game you guys are playing,but xeno is very easy to loop in chases. It's actually to the point I'm debating if I should get him or, not since he not that good at taking down survivors fast. I just don't see how everyone is saying how OP he is, he's really not. I know it's hard to admit when your just bad,but isn't it possible all you complaining are just not as good as you think you are? This killer is like low B tier. Same as nemmy.
-
Ever ask yourself maybe he not broken it's just you?
-
Man some days you get a good day in DBD,when you having fun everything going fine, than you get a day where you rescued a nea just to watch them literally urban evasion around the entire map doing freaking nothing while the other teammate is in a chase with the killer,and there one gen left. You lose the match cause the freaking nea is too busy urban evading everywhere. Why does this perk even exist?
-
The point of the turrets is to slow the killer down while you run away. It gives the killer an option to either deal with the turrets, or lose his power to get the survivor.
If you place two turrets near a generator it will kick him out of power,and you can easily escape. Correct turret placement is on survivor part. I do think the placements for certain maps need to be better. Sometimes I have to walk forever or go back,and forth to just find a spot to place the turret in. This is my only complaint so far with the DLC. It specially needs to be looked at on RPD, the placement for turrets on that map sucks.
-
I don't mind him. I like setting up a path to loop him with the turrets,and I can normally get away most of the time. The turrets are basically a slow down, making xeno choose either losing his power, or the survivor. I have faced so many xenos today not even using the turret add-ons that lets you tank turrets.
-
What I do is every few games as survivor I try,and toss in a killer game with a killer I find fun with. Like huntress I recently had a game where I was called a lot of names,and said I sucked at huntress. I got two kills that game. I'm not the best I'm not good at any killer yet. I have finally got to a point were I can load up a game,and not feel pressured, or afraid of just being in a killer role. They called me names,but I'm still gonna play huntress. I use to care what they said,and let it effect me.
My advice to new killers is this. Don't try to get good with any killer, at least not for a good while. Pick a killer that you find fun to play as no matter how bad you are with them,and every match focus on just being comfortable in the killer role itself. Learning a killer is easier once you are use to being in a killer role cause it's a lot different from a survivor. I would avoid the people saying play survivor you will some how get better at killer. This advice doesn't do nothing. I have 1,200 hours as survivor before I touched killer it didn't help. Just try to get use to the role is my advice.
-
She really not that strong. Even her condemned isn't that strong. Only if she using the iri tape addon I would say is strong. There literally multiple tvs next to each other. You take a tape walk a few feet,and what do you know another TV right there. She a m1 killer. She doesn't need a nerf at all. If you get condemned that's on you for not paying attention.

Apparently they can't think of a way to make it work so I've given up hope. He hasn't been on the Satisfaction Surveys either, so I take that as they are not even considering him. It's a shame as Chucky and Jason are the onlyl 2 really big horror icons that are NOT in DBD as of yet.. :/ Just because Chucky is short that automatically counts him out? That's pretty messed up. This supposed 'hall of fame' of horror will NEVER be complete without Chucky so..
The devs have already said in a video that they could have Chucky in. If he hasn't gotten in yet then that's a license issue not can he be in. They stated this alwile back on live streams.
-
This was truly sad story to hear. I have 1200 hours,but I'm still new when it comes to playing killer. I just got to the point where I can load up a killer match without stressing. I suck though at playing killer. I had a match today where I was called names for missing my hatchet throws with huntress. I guess people aren't allowed to learn a killer in DBD anymore?
This player you speak of shouldn't have been facing these survivors. I have seen mods on here claim there is MMR in place,but this is proof that there is no mmr,and the only thing the devs care about is quick fast queue times. It's nice to know though there people like you that give a ######### about the other side. People need to remember there a person behind that killer.

@Lobos said:
People will say anything to get under your skin, especially if you outplay them a couple of times. I play on Xbox so I rarely play killer on public games because the controls feel clunky and slow.
I say play whatever you want to play and just disable chatting. People rarely message you good things in DbD anyway.
You can also try out killers with bots in custom games to find your desired play style. Give the bots builds you normally see Survivors using in public games and play a few warm up custom games before going back to public games.
Yeah I was considering doing that. Disabling chat,but I thought we had a nice casual match,and wanted to say gg to them,and then they just started talking smack to me. I just ended up saying glhf,but I guess this ain't the type of game where you can just say gg if one side loses.
-
Thank you guys for the feedback. It's taken me a long time to even load up matches with killer. Killer is a very stressful role,and I've finally got to the point where I'm not good with any killer,but I can load up a match without feeling so stressed out,and it's taken a long time to just get to that point. So I think I'll just keep playing the killers I find fun,and hope I improve. I will look up some videos like someone said too :)
-
Idk about second objectives,but I would really like to have like trapped loops that effect both sides, survivor,and killer. Like a killer or survivor can activate some sort of electric fence loop that can stun, or slow down the opponent. Idk I think the idea would make looping a little more strategic,and fun. I got the idea from dying light 1 where you can lure zombies into an electric trap, to trigger it to zap them all lol.
-
Idk. I'm still trying to find a main,but so far i find huntress,and wesker to be really fun,but huntress sucks on a lot of maps which is why she can't be my main. Recently I've been testing out new sadako,and I'm liking her.
-
I can't freaking even play survivor. I keep getting teammates with 200 hours,and less. WHY ARE YOU USING URBAN EVASION!!! I just can't deal with these survivors. It's like none of them have ever played a video game before. At least when I started I read the damn objective. Touch a damn gen. Stop urban evading. I'm like about to be this done with survivor,and just stick to being a full killer main.

Bad design? Yes.
Bad Killer? No, he's fairly strong. He needs Map of the Realm basekit, but other than that he's in a great spot strength-wise.
He should be deleted along side skull merchant.
-
He's actually kinda bad.
-
The game goes on sale all the time. If you can't afford to spend 5 dollars on a video game every so often than you probably shouldn't be playing video games in the first place.
-
These days I have more fun playing killer than survivor. Every time I attempt to play survivor I'm matched with a team with less than 200 hours nearly Everytime. They have no idea how to play, it's like they just bought a random game without reading anything about it. It's incredibly frustrating.

it's the only thing that can give any kind of competition at the moment though. Yeah they are different and that's a good thing. I wouldnt play a straight copy of DBD. I do see few problems in TCM already. One is Connie. She's too strong and can escape before killers even notice. Two voice chat. People who can use voice chat will be better at the game ( kinda like in dbd ) Three. Maps. They will get repetitive as you learn them and as a survivor you will learn to escape faster and faster.
This being said i still hope they do well.
I hate to see any game flop,and fail,but there already people complaining about how nobody wants to play victim over there,and that it takes too long for matches to get going. There people dcing when they are about to die leaving the killer to get no points,but I'm sure the devs can fix that. Honestly I just don't see that game living for too long. The game mode is very repetitive,and not in a good way. I tested it out during the beta,and after a few matches I was very bored. It's just literally hide,and seek over,and over again. At least DBD introduces new killers with new powers to make things a bit different. I don't see how TCM can do anything like that since there limited to one license. Also 13k at launch isn't really a good sign for a long lasting game.
-
@Hannacia said:
Personally i hope TCM does well and gives little competition to DBD. Competition is not a bad thing. It can start pushing behaviour to do better. Right now they have no competition so they can get lazy and not care about the health of their game.
Its ok to have multiple games that do well, and it's ok to play more than 1 game and enjoy both.
I will play TCM as well, but i will also play DBD.
I agree it needs competition,however saying TCM will give it competition is like saying oh left 4 dead will give it compition cause there both a symmetrical games,and are both horror when they are clearly two different completely games who does different things. Or freaking dead space cause they are both horror. VHS was considered a competitor cause the game modes and how they played were very similar. TCM will not give it any compitition. They aren't anywhere near the same. Friday the 13 game was a comlititor again cause of similar gameplay. TCM will have no effect on DBD. The devs of TCM even said they aren't trying to compete with DBD,and if you even look at the steam charts 13k are playing TCM while 29k are playing DBD.
-
What was the point of this? If you hate a game just don't play it? What's wrong with you?

I suspect people playing Xeno will just get fed up with constantly walking through flamethrowers.
That's exactly why I feel he a waste of money because of those flamethrowers. I'll wait till I can pick him up at some point for 1.99$ on a steam sale.

I think it’s also because there isn’t a trade off in “countering” the Killer’s power which makes playing the Killer feel bad.
Cleansing vs Plague gives her the choice of becoming a ranged Killer for a short while. Removing infection against Nemesis and Wesker exposes them via Killer Instinct. Removing Demo’s portals takes time and Killer Instinct informs the Killer of it. Taking Sadako’s tape means that you get two stacks if you get caught holding it. Solving the box reveals the Survivor to Pinhead and gives him the choice to TP to it.
For Singularity, the only downside is the speed penalty on Survivors when using the EMP and the aoe range is huge. For Alien, I’ve seen videos of people stacking the turrets in shack or the toilet in Gideon which probably needs changing.
I totally agree with you!

He's also got some pretty good add-ons to counter them, or even benefit from them.
So he can use those, or have some insane addons like 30% vault speed to make him way scarier if the turrets are not around or extra slowdown with free mangled, etc etc if you are confident countering the turrets yourself
Plus I can already tell coup is gonna be ridiculous on this killer, and a perfect plan B for when your tail gets taken away
Oh that's so exciting. I get to use add-ons to counter some B's mechanic other killers don't have to. I love wasting my addon slots countering a mechanic that shouldn't even be there while other normal killers get to actually use add-ons to change or enhance there powers. Gee how fun! :D
-
Like I can already see reddit posts about people not liking the turrets,and comparing him to singularity,but you people that think I'm wrong ok fine. When alien releases,and nobody plays him cause who the hell wants to be bullied by turrets, I'll be here waiting to say I told you so.

The main reason people dont play Larry is cause hes a really hard killer to learn and master, he wont appeal to everyone.
Xenocat's skill floor and celling is closer to Nemesis's if anything.
What exactly is hard about singularity? Are people failing school, or something? How do you not understand how his power functions? Thats not the reason people don't play him.
-
@Zokenay said:
If you have good reflexes you can destroy the turret before it gets you out of your power, besides your power comes back considerably faster when travelling the tunnels.
Thats not even the point. Why put up with it in general when there killers out there who don't have too? I would bet you anything this won't fix the wesker problem. He will still be the most seen killer,and xeno will be just another singularity that nobody likes.
-
@Pulsar said:
So you won't play any Killer with built-in counterplay.
Not what I said. I won't play any killer where the survivors have the ability to take my power away from me.
-
@appleas said:
Because counterplay matters in a game that can’t decide if it’s a casual party or competitive game.
I agree,but the ability to shut off my power which I specifically paid for should never be given to survivors.
-
@GannTM said:
Thing is it takes a long time to set up the turrets, and survivors move really slowly while doing so, which also puts them at risk of being ambushed. Also, Xeno can destroy turrets with his power. It’s not as bad as it seems.
Wait till you face a discord SWF team,and let me know if you still feel that way. Why put up with this when I can play wesker who fun,and doesn't have to deal with an annoying mechanic?
-
@Xendritch said:
No because Xeno isn't as easy mode as Wesker in terms of the skill floor, you actually need to take a bit of time to learn them and then even when you do they're not as strong as Wesker.
I do think Xeno will be massively popular on release and they'll probably retain a following even after the hype dies down but they'll be like other big movie killers like Myers and Ghost Face where they're somewhat common but definitely not on the level of Wesker, Blight, Huntress.
On the topic of Xeno on controller they're most fine honestly definitely not on the level of Oni or Billy or even Huntress. Basically if you can play Executioner or Nemesis on controller then you should be able to handle Xeno. Although you are as short as Hag and that probably will put some people off on it's own.
Lmao xeno isn't hard at all. You point and click, that's all you do. These posts are freaking hilarious when people like to talk up killers as if they need some freaking degree to master. Xeno has to be one of the most easiest killers to play. Wesker is one of my mains,and I also played the PTB. Xeno is way easier to play then wesker.
-
If my perk gets nerfed that's the day I find a new game to replace this one.
-
Made for this
-
I was about to say this,but others already said it. Not sure if you ever watched the movies or just forgotten,but most of the aliens the male ones capture the humans. They try to not kill them cause they want to drag them to the queen for cocooning. Hooking them is like no different then then pinning a human to a wall so above all other killers it makes more sense for xeno.
-
Perks and mechanics look disappointing. They just combines nemmy with demo, and gave us crappy perks.
-
@Nash said:
Maybe you have reached the soft cap of mmr. To play killer requires not just good mechanic also game sense, like if you throw the hatchet you need to identify the survivor skill level first then you can decide whether predicting their dodge or not. Also as a 4.4 killer, her mobility is very bad so kick a gen isn't always a viable action to do.
As a beginner of killer role, try to not consider the game result, insteadly you probably should focus on chases otherwise you will get lost in the 'mmr hell' instead of getting better at the character, you can also watch some killer main streamers who are especially good at huntress (such as coconutrts) if you don't want to stress out. With more experience I am sure you will be getting better and struggle less.
So what your saying is I should just simply focus on getting better as huntress instead of worrying about how fast the gens are going. Yeah that's a good idea. I feel like the weekends is the wrong time to play killer so after the weekend I'll start practicing with her more,and not worrying about the match till I feel I'm better with her. Like I don't think I completely suck I know how to aim,and hit a survivor,but these survivors were so good they like side stepped lasted minute when I was sniping them,and they did it perfectly everytime like I was facing those bots that perfectly dodge my long distance hatchets.
-
@Nazzzak said:
Reading your post I was thinking 'well, it's Friday/weekend' and then I saw your last few sentences lol my gaming experience on the weekend is so so different to my weekday experience. And not in a good way. Weekends are so sweaty and I'm not a sweaty player so I tend to not play those days.
Yea you are probably right. I was thinking like no way is my MMR skyrocketing this much that fast from simply yesterday. I think I'll just play survivor,and wait till the weekend is over to play killer again. I felt all gross resorting to camping.
-
@BillToLast said:
Not enough killers are playing right now. I guess many of them quit after having to deal with MFT + Hope, the new Buckle Up + FTP combo and majorly buffed survivor basekit, which all make playing most of the killer roster unenjoyable and frustrating.
Enjoy the new queue times until MFT is nerfed and killers can once again have a fair chance playing anyone other than just Nurse and Blight.
I personally don't have fun playing M1 killers anymore, since trying to win with them is an uphill battle, while survivors have an easy time.
Oh I didn't know that. I play both roles,but when I'm playing killer I mainly play huntress,and I guess MFT wouldn't really effect her much. I didn't know it was so bad that killers stopped playing. I was thinking it was just people got burned out from anniversary event,and was taking a break. Hope BHVR does something soon cause these Q times are terrible. I feel like I can only play killer right now cause I can't stand waiting 5-10 minutes for a match as survivor. I'm on west coast servers on NA so it feels bad right now.
-
@Yippiekiyah said:
Im the same play killer get full toolbox prestige 100 squads that rush the gens in 3 minutes then play solo queue and get teammates that dont touch gens the entire game.
Yes exactly. I have no idea why it's like this, it truly balphels me.
-
Honestly I kinda agree. I somebody who gets motion sickness easily. One reason why I hardly step into vehicles unless I have to. His bottles makes me wanna afk in a corner cause it's just not worth the experience of his dizzyness his smoke brings.
-
I'm sorry,but no. That title my friend belongs to skull merchant,and knight.
-
I just had a duo SWF in the match I was in. I was playing doctor on garden of hell. None of them sent me there they all used event cakes. I'm not the best with killers I'm still learning,but I got a 1k nearly a 2k,but since they were friends they kept taking shots for each other. At the end of the game they just said ggwp. Didn't teabag me or anything. I wasn't playing dirty like face camping or tunneling. Was just a pretty chill game nobody was sweating. Some SWF can be like you describe,but I rarely run into them. I also noticed I got a lot of toxic behavior from survivors when you play like a A-hole like tunneling,and camping. I use to be like that,but ever since I stopped playing like that I don't get toxic behavior from survivors much.
-
I can tell you right now you won't make much progress relying on shards to unlock stuff. I have 1200 hours so far and with this past anniversary I was able to get mostly all the killers unlocked except singularity. I payed for the majority of my killers, and survivors. The thing is. This game is p2w,but is a good p2w cause the dlc they go on sale like all the time most of the old dlc are like 3-4 dollars when there a sale. Personally I only unlock killers or survivors with shards on anniversary event cause the killers,and survivors are like 4.5k shards a lot cheaper. Game not much playable without spending a couple bucks,but like really who can't afford five dollars on a game they enjoy playing lol
-
I play both roles,but I lean more on survivor. I play more survivor. I have a lot of fun as survivor cause I try to take the killer on what I like to call a world tour. That's when I attempt to loop a killer across the map,and get my teammates to pop multiple gens while on a world tour with the killer. I just find it fun to be in chase with the killer,and those oh so satisfying pallet stuns on there face. I don't have friends either who play this I'm solo.
