  • Oh I just can't be more excited for this chapter. The last time I was pumped about a chapter was silent hill, and stranger things. Alien was one of my top 5 killers I wanted to see in DBD. I just can't freaking wait. I've wanted alien for so long,he is one of the most coolest horror killers. Thank you bhvr. Please make his mechanics great 😊

  • I want to see meg take her rightful place as a true megalodon.

    image.png

  • See I don't really understand why people demand it patched. It's so easy to counter 3 gens. Let me tell you how it's simple. You just loop the killer while your teammates complete the gens. See that simple. Now if you can't loop the killer than that's a skill issue, and you shouldn't demand a patch just because you lack the skill to effectively stale the killer.

  • Normally it's knight cause he so freaking boring to play against just hold W,but I refuse to play against a double speed addon blight on midwitch with the hex that blocks pallets, hell no.

  • @killeriseasy said:

I hate this game. I've tried for so long to get better at survivor and they just keep making it harder. I've played 7+ games today and not once did ANYONE get out. And I've played with decent survivors. It's so easy for a killer to make a comeback in a game.

Are you sure they were decent? I have 1,200 hours so far ,and the majority of my matches have been with brand new players with less than 300 hours. I have to constantly dodge lobbies till I get survivors with high prestige that way I at least know they sunk plenty of hours into the game, and somewhat know how to loop. Those games have been good, the rest where I'm partnered with babies have been ruining and sucking the fun out of this game for me. There is no mmr in this game only RNG.

  • Why I stopped playing. Waiting for a time when gen speeds get nerfed again.

  • I don't see how you people think dead hard is dead, it barely got touched. It's still gonna be the number one exhaustion perk used.

  • I stopped playing when the knight dropped. Every update after that has been dogshit. I told myself I won't come back till they somehow make it so gens don't insta get done within the first 5 minutes of a match. I load up a game to play it not get into a match for it to last only 5 minutes. Sorry but there just better games to play than this.

  • Why are you even using the knight?

  • Sprint burst will never be as popular as dead hard no matter what cause the perk is simply too annoying to use.

  • image.png

HAHAHAHA all you survivors who couldn't win without dead hard threatening to uninstall ROFL! Talk about being such a bad gamer you can't adapt without one ability being in the game. They act like DBD revolves around dead hard. What gonna cry cause you actually have to learn how to play. HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • STOP LISTENING TO SURVIVOR MAINS!!!!!

  • @Shroompy said:

Other than Skull Merchant (which is obviously unfinished and probably will receive major improvements once she reaches live) I dont see how this is the worst chapter.

We got 2 banger Survivors with interesting perks, and theyll probably mark the beginning to Survivor lobby themes for every chapter. Cant forgot the update to one of the most bland maps in the game, Shelter Woods.

Considering she has missing SFX I have a feeling shes supposed to have voicelines as well, which would explain the awkward standing during her mori.

cause she doesn't need a buff she needs a rework. No need to white knight the chapter, we all know this chapter blows.

I mean and I've said this before I'm annoyed because those of us that like trap killers finally got a new trap killer to play with for the first time in 7 years and and it's been nonstop bitching from the community ever since. I understand most people don't like Hag either she has the 2nd lowest pick rate in the game and Trapper's pick rate is only high because he's free and the face of the game otherwise they would be lower as well but the problem comes from we get our 3rd trap killer ever and if the community had their way the chapter just wouldn't come out and I just wish the community was more mature and just accepted the chapter isn't for them.

Nobody is making you play this killer. If you wanna play a good chase killer you have Blight, Wesker, Nurse, Oni, Sprit, Executioner, Bubba, Etc. If trap players wanna play a good killer they have Hag and that's it so excuse me if I don't really care about everyone crying that for once we didn't get yet another chase killer and those of us that enjoy alternative playstyles were catered to for the first time in 7 years.

you clearly don't understand why people are even mad in the first place. People have been waiting for new content since wesker thats a really long time ago to wait for a game to have good content to keep them entertained, and busy. Knight sucked, and now we have this chapter which also sucks. That means we have to wait at least another 3 months for new content. Thats why people are mad. BHVR should have realized this from the backlash they got from knight, and yet release another similar killer that the majority of the community has said that didn't like or want. Don't tell people to just accept it like its nothing. As everyone else has said this will be the lowest selling chapter ever in dbd history, and we yet again have to wait for better content to be released. People have a right to be mad, and protest this chapter specially after the terrible knight released. You have to understand people are starving for good decent content in DBD, and we haven't had that since wesker.

Even 4 thousand people are going to be an underwhelming majority. And honestly it doesn't feel like many like this chapter (I don't like it either). The backlash on this chapter is incredibly large. Yes sometimes I see people saying that they actually like the concept of the new chapter but if you look at most content creators, most comments most Reddit posts and most forum posts you don't see many people saying they like it. This chapter is going to be review bombed once it's live and that's kinda sad if you watched the behind the scenes video where the devs look clearly very happy and excited about this chapter.

is there really a video of them saying there happy about this chapter? If so can you link us, would like to watch it, the behind the scenes stuff?

Except plenty of people like the chapter. This is just willful ignorance on your part.

kinda just sounds like your mad cause your in the extreme minority thinking this is some great chapter, when everyone else is telling you otherwise, but its ok stay in fairy tale land :D

  • "plenty of other people see the potential" I believe the rest of human kind falls within the catagory of "other people" lol

What part of "do not sell" this did I misunderstand in your original post? The chapter isn't for you and that's okay plenty of other people see the potential do like it.

No we don't. We really don't. It's trash like everyone says. Hot garbage.

Yeah I agree. I barely play anymore cause the state of the game been pretty bad, but spirit one of the few killers I enjoy playing. I shouldn't give DBD anymore of my money though tbh.

Who said I was expecting a meta shakeup anytime soon? All I said, was "If they nerf any of those perks it's because they are going to switch up the meta again and it will happen on both sides". The key word being if. Plus, I think you are sort of overreacting and just assuming they would nerf every slowdown perk in the game until nothing is usable, which I think is a ridiculous thought.

I can honestly say, I never once used eruption since the buff (or any gen kick perks, because I don't kick gens) and I have done just fine.

I love how people automatically assuke this entire post is about eruption even when I said I never used that perk or any gen kicking perk. I can say they will nerf it cause I've been playing this game for years, and if you pay attention to the current trend of updates you can clearly see most of the nerfs are for killer. People have been complaining for way too long about the killer gen kicking meta. Why would they touch eruption, and not touch call of brine, and overcharge. There no meta shake up happening for that to happen they would need to introduce or buff a perk. If they were intending to buff a perk they wouldn't have basically deleted pop/ruin/eruption. Three perks nobody use any more.

  • I think we as a community can do 10x better than whoever the hell they have designing killers at this point, so I'm all for this idea.

This argument falls apart when you realize bhvr is a business, this game is not a paid service, and they have to do things to get money to pay for servers and employees. Servers are so very expensive. If you want to blame something, like.. blame capitalism and not the devs? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's also like.. yeah, no kidding survivors can result in more sales cosmetics-wise, because there will need to be 4x survivors for every killer. Doesn't mean they balance around that lmao

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3347056#Comment_3347056

The difference between COB, pain res, and overcharge is that eruption was literally a busted perk. If they nerf any of those perks it's because they are going to switch up the meta again and it will happen on both sides. It's how we even got the gen kick meta, if you forgot.

If they nerf every slowdown then how exactly is that shacking up the meta lmfao 🤣 did you not even see how the new killer didn't even bring any usefull perks? I'll just wait here with baited breath for this huge meta shake up your expecting. Rofl 😂

  • @TigerSnake said:

I mean, I’ve played a majority of my games without Eruption, and have done fine. I don’t think losing it will be as bad as you think. Now if CoB or Pain Res get nerfed next midchapter, then I’ll agree that there’ll be no good slowdown left to run. But for now, we should be fine. Furthermore, two of those new perks you’re talking about suck really bad. Literally Deja Vu and Quick & Quiet are better than those two. Blood Rush though, yeah, that’s gonna be a problem.

Oh come on it's BHVR you know damn well the rest of the perk nerfs coming is for killer specially call of brine, and overcharge. Most likely pain res too why? Cause it basically regressed the same amount as eruption. If you pay attention to the most recent trend of updates the devs are doing they have some sort of vendetta against killers lately. I won't hold my breath that they won't touch the rest of the gen slowdown perks.

  • @fulltonon said:

We should have lost decent amount of killers with hud buff, so I doubt anyone staying still will leave now.

Yeah I'm thinking the only ones sticking around is the killer mains who don't need any slowdowns , and just play nurse/blight/spirit. I have already heard some streamers talking about it. How they don't even see m1 killers anymore.

  • Yeah, I actually just started thinking of this. I'm like the reason why they don't properly balance there game in any way shape or form is cause of money. It truly is the only thing they seem to care about. I was having such a crappy time when I played this game, and ever since I stopped playing like a month ago I feel so much better now. I still hope the devs will come around, and give us some proper updates, but it won't ever happen. Like when we ask for a perk to be nerfed that doesn't mean make it unusable it just means change it so it works better. How many of you ever see perks like pop goes the weasel used anymore. I agree perks need a nerf, but that doesn't mean basically delete them. Smh

  • Dude just move on to other games. Games are suppose to be fun, not make you feel bad. This is BHVR fault they have no clue how to balance there game. I have stopped playing this game it's just gotten worse, and worse with each update. I only keep track of the game in hopes we might see good updates, but it's just wishful thinking. If you want to feel better just find a game to replace DBD with. Game not worth the stress.

  • I would love that idea. I've been saying this for years that survivors need more objectives.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363754/my-experience-with-dbd-lately

similar to mine, except that i'm a killer main and i found playing survivor as a m1 simulator... Doing gens>looping because the 1st one will grant you the escape, the other will only waste the killer's time (and if your teammates aren't doing gens, it's all worthless efforts), while as killer all my matches are the same: EVERYONE with Dead Hard ("bUt tH1s p3rK w4s n3rF3d 4nD n0w h4s 4 l0w p1cK r4t3!1!"), gens will fly even if you end chases fast (no more than 30 seconds) and you are forced to play in the same way to achieve at least a single kill

Mostly why I just stopped playing gens go by to fast, and every time I say something about gens going to fast or Dead hard I get these simps who are like nothing wrong with the game your just bad get gud. I'm so tired of arguing with these players who think dbd is this well balanced game, specially with dead hard. I can't stand the people who think there nothing wrong with dead hard. I literally put it on and it doubles my time in a chase. It practically started the chase all over again, but DBD is balanced right?

  • @legacycolt said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3336846#Comment_3336846

Yes but dead hard is needed against killers like nurse, spirit and blight. They would need to nerf op killers to justify nerfing dead hard.

    its really not lol

  • @Desteriaa said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363377/you-want-me-to-wait-out-dead-hard

Complaining about waiting out dead hard is really skill issue. Yes dead hard gives an extra health state and waste time for the killer but is that not point of it?

    bucket.png

  • I don't run gen kicking perks on huntress. I was using her as an example as to why playing her against good survivors sucks cause they can simply dead hard her hatchets meaning chases are longer, and since I run aura build on her I have no slowdowns. Huntress isn't my main just an example. Scott jund a popular streamer of DBD also said the same thing, that he stopped playing huntress cause of dead hard, and he use to main her. I don't have 20 seconds to spare when survivors bring prove thyself + hyperfocus + green toolbox with brand new parts. You don't get it I'm like that white rabbit in Alice in wonderland I'm late to kick my gen. I don't even have 7 minutes to spare with you like Wesker does. I don't even have time to waste commenting on this. I have to go kick my gen sorry bye.

  • You are wrong, it is a problem, and should be nerfed like eruption is.

  • @fussy said:

Yes, I also play about twice a week. And I have no problem with the fact that someone doesn't want to sweat in this game. I played for a long time before becoming a good survivor, even longer to be a good killer.

Every time my chases were about 20 seconds, all I thought was, "Okay, I'm still bad enough and I have a lot to learn. I'll take this lesson to be better next time in this place/against this killer."

Yes, this is a casual game, you can play as you like, but please do not forget that this is also a game in which experience and skills play a big role. Therefore, do not come to the forums and ask "Please I need everyone come down to my level" if you are not going to grow in this game and just came to press the buttons with beer in one hand.

I can and will come up in here, and say what I will. Again you are not understanding what game you are playing this is a casual game, and the game will always be balanced too casuals which is why we have perks to begin with. If this game was balanced around "experienced players" all perks would be dumbed down to the level of light weight where they don't make a big impact but a slight change. Casuals have a right to complain cause it's not fair for them to be facing try hards match after match. If you want a skill based game there thousands of them, but don't be coming in here thinking this game is centered around top tier skill, that's just laughable 😂

  • @fussy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/363296/leaving-until-tunneling-is-addressed

Do you know what is the best solution to resist tunneling? Be good at the game. It's pure pleasure to run the killer 2-3 generators, then be taken off the hook, run 2 more generators and escape into the gate. This happens only when your team knows how to press m1 on the gens. Sometimes you might not be lucky with RNG. Or it's a very powerful killer with fast chases. But these moments and games are worth it when it happens.

It's a pity that you'll never know what it's like, because modern survivors have stopped even trying to be good at the game. "Mommy, I want the game to protect me from any troubles. Which button should I click to win the game? WDYM it doesn't exist? Well then I'm DC and leaving the game."

Dude this isn't a eSports tournament game. It's.meant to be a casual game. It's not league or call of duty. You are confused about what game you are playing. The majority of players in DBD is casuals who don't want to spend hundreds of hours fine tuning there skills. Some people have lives and other ######### to do.

  • We still hate him, and no it didn't.

  • I mean I recently uninstalled the game cause I felt like gen just get done too fast, and every game I have to camp/tunnel to even get a 1-2 kills. It's just too stressful to play now, and there simply other games out there that don't make me feel that way.

  • @Sava18 said:

The game has always been more favored to killers the lower the mmr and gets progressively less so the higher the mmr, no amount of killer buffs or survivor nerfs will change that even if it's killer sided at high mmr.

Really. How can you even say this game is killer sides? Why don't you take a trip down memory lane, and go read the patch notes on how nearly every update has been for survivor, including the one we just got with the hud, and the next one being killer perk nerfs. We only got a killer update a few months ago, and then get ignored while killers get nerfs, and survivors get buffs nearly every update. Don't speak lies.

Valid tactics and necessary because of poor balance. That is “not” saying they “want” those things, that is saying it’s necessary. Those are two very different things. Killers don’t “want” those things, it was them saying it’s required until we get changes to make it not required.

    This exactly. Well said.

What messed you up was the camping and tunneling. It was your own laziness that brought you to where you are today. Because you saw how easy it was to win by essentially targeting one or two players & then snowballing, you continuously did that. I’m sure that when you played solo queue, if you truly did, then you saw how easy it was for killers to snowball a match from that. So you adopted that strategy yourself. Now you’re facing opponents who are beyond your depth—because you told the game that you could handle it. See, the problem is that camping and tunneling really only work against inexperienced and/or casual survivors . But there are also survivors who have experienced that so much they know how to play around it. Maybe they’re SWF, maybe they’re just adaptable solo queue players. Either way, you did yourself a disservice by relying on those methods as a strategy to win. The Nemesis is a very good killer, and it can quite easily win its matches. But the only way you’ll actually improve as a killer main and with this killer especially is if you basically Smurf (drop your MMR by losing matches; that is, allowing survivors to escape) until you’re placed with survivors who are on your actual skill level. And at that point you need to learn how to play both killer AND The Nemesis. That means no camping and tunneling, at least not until you know how to use those techniques strategically rather than to bulldoze your way through survivors. You’re not as good as plowing through weak-ass survivors had you think, now you’re getting a wake up call. Sucks but it’s kinda well-deserved.

No I didn't mess up. I'm a killer doing what I'm suppose to do being a killer. It doesn't matter what ways I choose to accomplish that goal. It doesn't make me a bad player. I'm smart for doing whatever it takes to accomplish my goal in a video game. When was the last time you saw a killer in a video game going out of there way to make there victims feel good? Last time I checked this was a horror game about survivors trying to survive, and killers killing? So why come up in here saying I'm bad for doing what's most effective? How dare you people say I'm bad for doing whats most effective to get my kills. I'm not gonna sit here, and make the survivors I should be killing making sure they have there bestest fun time in my matches. That's not how this game works it's not my job to make sure the people I'm going up against have fun. That's bhvr job not mine. Even otzdarva releases a video today saying the same thing. Tunneling is needed more do to the way the game currently works. I had 24 games where I had multiple 4ks cause I tunneled, and camped and did what I needed to do to get my kills. I don't care if I have 1 or 2 bad games. I'll always do what's most effective to accomplish the goal in video games like your suppose to do. That doesn't make me a bad player for playing smart. I have no idea why you feel the need to make sure everyone has fun in your matches this is a pvp game like what are you even talking about 🤣

Omg just hush. All you people that say oh your so bad you tunneled look at you baddie. Did you all forget this is a horror game about killers idk killing people? When was the last time any of you watched a horror movie and saw the killer being nice or going out of there way to make sure the survivors were having fun? It's a game about killing people. It doesn't matter how you do it that's the ENTIRE point of playing killer. If I choose to tunnel that doesn't make me a bad player cause I'm doing what's most effective to accomplish my goal. In fact it makes me smart 🤓. Even otzdarva releases a video today 4 hours ago from this comment that tunneling is more needed do to the current way DBD is, go watch it. Don't come here saying I'm bad cause I found the fastest way to reach my goal as a killer. Your the one not playing right if your going out of your way to make the survivors you should be killing making sure they have the bestest time. It's a pvp game. I don't care about anyone's fun, but my own, and I'll accomplish my goal as a killer any way I deem. I don't have to be nice I'm a killer. The killers in moves don't. I don't. I have no idea where you people get off saying I'm bad for camping, and tunneling when those are effective ways to get the job done.

I use shadowborne/lethal/bbq/pain res 90% of games. I have not kicked a gen in just over a year now. Gen kicking meta if boring by design on both sides. Blight causes pressure through sheer mobility and down potential vs the 99% of survivors who don't understand him. I don't mean to be toxic but I doubt you are good at blight if you think you need eruption to carry you. If you want to argue clown/nemesis needs eruption to succeed go for it, but c33 literally makes blight a better neme with less effort(most broken low effort add-on in the game). If you actually take the time to learn blight thoroughly most survivors won't know what to do because they really don't understand him and by default downs will be faster and gens will be slower. I don't even consider the comp teams I have gone against to be that good vs blight in chase so how could solos possibly be good vs him? I say that, but the best survivors I have ever gone against have at the very least been solo comp players but probably just really good survivors through their own effort.

Just start running c33/adrenaline vial when eruption gets nerfed, you lose like 8M after the break animation is over because you pressed right click and they won't make it anywhere, then you make up that distance in a second. Keep in mind I go out of my way to play at a time when I think mmr will match me vs survivors near my mmr(anything before 12AM on NA just makes me feel bad for kicking puppies). Can a god 4 man comp team role 99% of killers? Yes. But the chances you face them are probably less than .01%.

I am not trying to discourage you and if playing killer only stresses you out stop playing. But I think you need to hear this to improve. I am all about improving and try to take away my bias in any game I play.

Try and help me out if he responds. I know you are less blunt than me.

I don't use eruption or any gen kicking perk. Gen kicking perks, and the whole 3 gen strat is extremely boring to me. I just want to have fun chases. I normally run Lethal/bbq/deadlock/pain res

I'm sorry to say this but for the few games I have played against bots as blight, they have no idea how to play against blight. Although most survivors don't in general. While you can learn collision in bot games, it won't help you in chase vs real survivors.

Thats not the issue. The problem is gens go too fast, and I'm sorry but perks like pain res/pop/ overcharge by itself suck. I have no idea why all of you is saying just use eruption. like all of you do realize they are nerfing that perk? I'm sick of the gens popping so fast.

I'd still like to help :(

Although, from the sound of it, Killer may not be for you. Unless the matchmaker has screwed up and put Survivors against you that are WAY worse than you, you'll ALWAYS be racing against the clock. You will always be under pressure. That's just how the role works.

I spent hours messing around with blight in a bot match, and then went to give it a try in real matches where I went up against a prestige 50 mikaela, they all had distortion so my lethal didn't work. They were most likely on coms telling each other where I went, and by the time I found someone 2 gens popped. Yeah matchmaking is really good.

  • I think I'm ultimately done with DBD. I've spent 1k hours in this game, and mostly was for survivor, but solo Q has been a nightmare with the teammates I get, and when I try and play killer It just feels so one sided. I don't care what people say survivors have way better perks then us killers. They can bring more perks/items, and by the time I'm done with one chase 2 gens pop. I want to feel relaxed, not like I'm fighting a ticking clock. I want to be able to do chases, and not have to worry about how long I'm taking in a chase. I should be allowed to spend more then 30 seconds in a chase without multiple gens popping. The sheer amount of slowdowns we killers have is frankly insulting. I've spent hundreds of hours in bot matches testing, and other than eruption/ COB which is being nerfed soon there just no way to effectively slow down gens. I'm just so sick of the unbalance of this game. The majority of the player base is casuals, and its not our fault that the game has such a steep learning curve. Its not players faults for being bad its simply bad game design when you see so many players not able to be effectively good. A player shouldn't need 2k hours to be good at a game. Its just simply bad game design, and I wont put up with it anymore. There has to be other games that I can get more enjoyment out of then this stressful unbalanced game. Good luck DBD community. I hope you get better updates in the future for this game.

People on the forums will tell you that you can do well with any killer as long as you “git gud” with them. That’s simply not true.

With killers like Doctor, Trapper, Pig and Clown, no matter how good you are, you won’t be doing well against a well coordinated and efficient swf. You’ll most likely be their plaything. Wait until you get a bully squad on comms running Head On, Boil Over, DH and a map offering to make you as miserable as possible.

My suggestion to you is to master Nurse or Blight if you don’t want to feel helpless. You will lose a lot while you build the required experience but once you have them down, survivors will have to take you seriously.

Also, don’t listen to people about not camping or tunneling or slugging. Survivor mains have ways to try to guilt you into thinking about their fun while never once caring or considering if you might be having fun. Heck, they get a kick out of making the killer miserable enough to DC. Plenty of YouTube videos to prove it.

This isn’t saying all survivors are the same, but once you get into sweaty MMR, good luck.

Yeah I actually had a game like that recently with docter. They sent me to erie of crows, and a duo SWF kept running me up into the main building, and head on me. I eventually killed them, but I had to tunnel, and camp for it. I seriously have no clue how people win without tunneling, and such. Like there just not enough time to sit there and play mind game with the survivor when like some have said you have like 30-40 seconds to catch them before gens pop.
