While not every game will require you to camp/tunnel/slug, that doesn’t mean you should mentally limit yourself from doing so. Play based on what you think makes sense, not how you feel if you want to win.

Counterpoint: If you resort to camping, tunnelling and slugging in order to win, you need to realise that you may be getting kills that feel undeserved, which means your MMR will position itself above what you can comfortably handle, leading to more stressful matches.

You can have fun matches, or you can have a high win-rate, but it's very hard to do both unless you're really, really, -really- good at the game.

If matches are frustrating you, I recommend aiming for 2-hooking everyone but avoiding going for kills, or only going for kills once you've 2-hooked everyone. This'll keep your MMR low while giving you plenty of opportunity to test your skill.

This was some really great advice. I was slugging/tunneling/camping, but only after 2 gens, and thats if I didn't get a kill. I had like 4-5 games that i got 4k like that, but I guess like you said doing those may get me kills, but I'm not actually learning the game that way. I'll try to just focus on hooks, and go for kills after I 2 hooked everyone like you said. I'm gonna try using docter more to learn the basics with.

  • Its the fact it goes from oh I'm not doing so bad to omg these are survivors from hell. ######### is this matchmaking?

It takes time to learn killer, don't sweat it. That being said killer is insanely frustrating right now (as is survivor), and your matches will eventually be ridiculously easy stomps or sweatfests.

    So, you know.

At the moment though just worry about having fun and learning your killer.

I appreciate the advice. Those survivors really made me feel like i truly sucked. I really feel like some of these survivor perks need adjusting, survivors get so many chances to escape the killer, and by the time I catch someone 3 gens pop. I don't understand it v.v

    I would say Jolt.

Overcharge alone doesn't feel worth it to kick gens and you're already focussing on m1 attacks with stbfl

Thank you. I thought jolt might be a better choice :)

  • I feel the same way. I have 1k hours so far, and only recently swapped over to play killer. I only feel comfortable playing nemesis. On every other killer i feel tons of anxiety. The mmr system doesn't make it easy either to get into killer. The first time you play killer on killer you never touched before you will have like i would say 6-7 good games till your MMR goes up, and then you face survivors bringing dead hard/ boiled over/ unbreakable with maxed out medkits with iri addons with maxed out toolboxes with brand new parts. Its truly a sweat fest going up against these players, and if you don't play exactly right gens go within like 5 minutes. I made a rule for myself that if I don't get a kill by 2 gens I'll start camping/tunneling to atleast get 1-2 kills. It works i atleast get some kills this way, but then get trash talked in lobby saying oh you can't win unless you camp. Like the same ######### can be said about you? You cant win if you bring every second chance perk in the game with iri addons with medkits? You don't see me trash talking you for bringing that crap, but you gonna give me crap cause you gen rushed me with everything including prove thyself. Yeah If I didn't tunnel or camp at 2 gens I wouldn't get any kills with those type of matches. Do what I do turn off the end game chat, and if the survivors make it to the exit gates don't sit there watching them t-bag just turn around and go smash doors/pallets for points.

Try them both on custom match with bots, and see which one fits your playstyle more. But if I had to guess, I'd say Plague is probably more your alley.

I've been using them in bot custom matches. They both are really fun, so was having a hard time picking, but I'm leaning more to plague since she can prevent survivors from healing, and using medkits, and survivors with so many items sometimes gives me anxiety.

Yeah I've been using them in the custom bot matches, they are both really fun so was having a hard time. I was leaning sorta more to plague since she negates medkits basically, and I really hate survivors who bring medkits, and can heal constantly.
