  • Getting no perks at all multiple times... which honestly should not be a thing. Though in general the randomness seems wonky, like you can get the same perk multiple times in a session and some you've still yet to see even once. Still the mode is refreshing, no meta builds so anything goes you make do with what you got.

  • Distortion doesn't need a rework, and we didn't need another thread on this. Any changes mostly punish solo players and that's the group that suffers the most on this game already. Killers are still regularly going to get rolled by SWFs, perks related to that needs attention more.

  • Eitherway we look at it's just mostly killer entitlement rather than X or Y survivor is screwing over everyone else. Auras are generally boring, expecting constant wall hacks is boring, is it any wonder players don't find the game as fun anymore when it's the same boring ass killer builds almost every match. Literally dozens of perks that can get value, think outside the box.

  • I've not seen a "pig got nerfed" thread in a while so I guess they are on the right track eitherway hmm.

Does this mean that players on console should avoid using the report system outside of "Giving Props"?

Console players can still make reports, and your platform may also be constantly recording your gameplay up to an hour I believe if you have it enabled (the PS5 does this). So if you have a questionable match, you should have the recording available straight after (Save Recent Gameplay) to edit and upload to YT or wherever, then you can share that link with BHVR when you send them a ticket through their site. Plus when making a ticket it will also ask you if you made a report in-game, likely so it's easier to match the report with the ticket info you sent.

  • Perhaps there could be some reward for killers if they alternate between survivors rather than tunneling just one or two in succession. An example could be if you hook 4 different survivors in a row you get a bonus to your next gen regression action, or all survivors suffer from exposed for a short time. They are just random ideas but you get the idea, if there is some incentive for killers to play different then maybe...

I jam to spotify when I play killer, so I kinda have to use aura perks pal, and aura perks have been in the game since pretty much forever idk what your on about saying it barely existed when aura has always been used on killers....

If you get rolled by a group of Distortion users because you need to listen to music, then man it's deserved.

  • Boon: Illumination.

Which is funny, as you'd expect licensed perks to be on the stronger side to generate more sales.

I mean many games have reconnect functions... I don't think there is a good reason to not have one in this game...

Many games still cannot tell the difference between a forced disconnection or a genuine one out of the players hands, so this would be open to being abused. The DC timer starts rather generously, if it keeps happening, then sorry no, punishment is deserved.

  • No. Your connect is not stable, and you ruin it for all the other players, stick to offline games. Harsh but it's a fact.

  • Lightweight could reduce the sound of footsteps, or make them sound inconsistent regardless of your health state. I know the Ripley perk silences footsteps while healthy, but Lightweight could be an alternative.

  • I at least want to be able to see the killer player's name in the lobby, and by this I mean their username/steam/console etc name. It's easy for a killer to lobby dodge survivors that don't want to play with, but can't be done the other way around hmm. Some killer players are toxic af and I'd prefer to know before the game throws me in to a match with them.

I know Anonymous mode exists so if they hide the name then it is what it is, but for those who don't, I like to avoid certain ones.

  • Haddie is definitely not that curvy. Jane's assets can literally stop traffic, nothing compares.

  • Similar could be said about the female characters. They are all slim and petite, with Jane the only one having curves. Where the thicc guys at!?

  • The 6% could be something that only activates when only 3 gens remain, but even then it's not that much to even complain about. You'll just end up seeing other perks more often, so gen bonuses will still exist in some form.

  • It's not really a roulette if the perks are picked by players, regardless of which side they are on. Something like dealer's choice might be a better name for the mode.

  • It wouldn't take long before players also ask for the option to hide this rating. Similar to prestige, sometimes it can invite toxicity from others.

  • You can just use a different perk instead of Botany. Desperate Measures is probably the next best thing that's very easy to use, and it works with Med-kits.

  • We didn't need to hear all your history about when you started to play games. Just two posts here suggests you don't usually get involved with the wider community or understand when certain things need changes, but more your putting you're own expectations and getting upset when they don't fit your mold. Sure the game is at times very frustrating and far from perfect, but Blight had this coming, and even then he is still a top tier killer.

  • Not all SWFs are skilled players either. I'm sure many of you might have friends who may only occasionally touch the game, few matches here and here just to play together. They're not super knowledgeable about patches/updates, in-game tricks etc, so compared to yourself, you may feel like you're playing with a brand new player at times. So punishing all SWFs could just cause unnecessary frustration.

  • Simple buff to Visionary, remove the deactivation after a generator is completed, easy. It can then be act similar to Bond but for Generators instead. It's really just a training perk after all, something to get used to gen placements.

Alot of people would love a ranked mode. Normal pubs are becoming too competitive anyway, so if they add a ranked mode that would be perfect cause then the "sweats" will not "sweat" anymore in public games.

I think you're delusional to believe this. Play any PvP game out there that has a ranked and non-ranked mode, you will still regularly get sweats in pubs. Listen, I'm not against having ranked, but having an additional mode isn't going to change how people play.

  • "generators repair too fast now"

    - They repair pretty much the same as before, there is just additional regression mechanics. For many killers this made no real difference and they just adapted their perks, such as running Grim Embrace or Deadman's switch. Try different play styles, try different killers because the "the repairs are way too fast for any killer to handle" is an absolute lie.

"the game balance should be achieved by trying to put killers and survivors on equal footing"

    - This is just not possible in an asymmetric game. Even the new game mode has shown that if you take perks away from everyone and just make things simple, there is still going to be an imbalance.

So you admit the hatch is a problem / creates problems. But because this game has more problems it's fine? Or do I not understand you correctly, because that's how I read this

Seldom do I think the hatch is a problem, if anything; many other things are much higher on the list of being problematic, thus it's fine as it is.

  • Is everyone else in your match also being disconnected? What error message are you receiving? Ten times seems a bit ludicrous.

  • Yesterday, 3 doctors. One was an absolute sweat, the other was the same one twice, pretty chill though.

  • I'd like two permanent modes, and ranked is not one of them. Normal Play and the Roulette with random perks, I feel just those two alone would be enough to add variety to the game. Of course if there is a third mode just for limited time events that's also fine, but yeah I don't have any hopes for a decent ranked mode.

  • If you're having server issues AND you're getting penalties for it, sorry bub it sounds like a you issue. Either do something to fix your platform, your connection or alternatively play something else. As harsh as it sounds, your issues effect all the other players in the match with you, so just stop until you actually have a solution.

  • If you remove the hatch, then perhaps Sole Survivor should be base kit for all survivors. After all you're expecting one of them to do all the objectives by themselves while also attempting to evade the killer. Either way, the remaining survivor is in a losing situation if they are spotted. The Hatch is fine, leave it be.

  • Survivors having a shared hook pool will not fix anything. If the killer received some kind of penalty in the match for tunnelling (e.g. the other survivors get temporarily increased repair speed) then maybe, but even then they may just find a way around it.

  • As a solo I just stopped caring so much about winning and just try have fun. If that's not happening, then I go play something else or do another activity. It's extremely difficult to balance teamplay for solos in any game that has it, so there isn't any easy solution. If killers were incentivised to not play like a sweat maybe it'll be more fun all round, but then fun itself is very subjective...

  • The fact the Gabriel moon festival outfit was temporarily given away and could even be worn as separate pieces goes to show that BHVR can do it, they just don't want to.

  • Seems the moral is that Distortion users and lone wolves are not always in the same group. Sure they may overlap at times, but you really can't control anything that happens in solo queue. As long as objectives are getting done, I don't care what other survivors run. Of course we also get some randoms that just throw themselves immediately at certain killers because they want out the match, but that's alright huh.

  • Why did the devs nerf Blight who is still one of the best killers in the game, hmm thinking....

Hello, killer instinct provided by what perks exactly that’s remotely worth running? Also, please refrain from attacking me on my player skill as I’ve mentioned I find the perk UW most useful when I have 2 survivors dead by 4/3 gens and the last 2 are hiding or I’m slugging the third and looking for the last one for the 4k which happens almost every game for me. If you have real technical insights on the matter of which I started this forum for please do share but stay respectful. Good day.

No one is attacking you personally for your player skill so kindly drop the snowflake attitude. What was being highlighted is that in general most experienced players often don't need it, and even then less experienced ones got by before UW was added. Several other perks exist with scream mechanics such as Face The Darkness and Pain Resonance, but Ultimate Weapon is a crutch and I ain't gonna cry if it gets gutted with nerfs.

  • More chance of BHVR increasing the time it takes to repair a generator than needing totems to be an additional requirement to escape. Also several killers already have secondary objectives outside of gens, Trapper/Pig/Hag traps, Onryo tapes, Wesker/Nemesis chests etc.

  • DbD is all about who wins the mind games during a chase. There are other perks that would be more useful in helping to secure the knock.

Being able to instantly eliminate any player regardless of hooks does not seem like it fits in this game.

I've heard "it takes forever so it's balanced"

but literally every pub game i've played against Mike there is at least one survivor who doesn't know how evil within works and lets him get all the way to tier 3 before we barely have 2 gens done, no problem.

The last game i played, I don't know how he managed it. I went to unhook my teammate and found him facecamping until the timer went off. As soon as they unhooked, he immediately had tier 3 and murdered them.

If that's not toxic gameplay abuse i don't know what is. This add-on should be removed completely.

That's pub games for you, quite a number of players don't know how to handle certain killers powers. I had a match a couple of days ago against Cenobite, and literally no one would bother to get the box. You had to get it yourself but if you were in chase, then you were done for chief once the chains starting spawning. Sadako was another, many not managing their tapes and being mori'd, though this was before the recent update. Still, Myers doesn't really have anything else except potential insta-kill and the stealth, that's it, otherwise good survivors can literally make his life hell. A rework would be nice though.

  • It really depends on the reason the survivor is killing themselves on the hook, sometimes you can't always blame them. If a group of survivors are just feeding the killer because they don't want to play against them, then nah, the moment I'm on the hook, I'm giving up and moving on to the next match, no point wasting more time. Another scenario is it's just two survivors, I'm on hook second stage, still 3+ gens, so I'll take the death and let the other person find hatch. Otherwise they'll try to save and end up trading places, which means no one finding hatch because the killer usually will tunnel until everyone is down anyway.

Though if we went with your solution, survivors that can't choose to die on hook are just going to afk at the hook when saved, or rush to the killer to be hooked again. So the problem of certain survivors giving up will still exist either way. I'd say there are other more pressing issues for solo queue, this ain't one.

  • Boons in general need some dev attention, but Illumination is one of the most underwhelming, more so than Dark Theory. The new boon could at least offer a bonus to repair, cleanse, and chest opening speeds for any objects highlighted within it's range, thinking 5-10% maybe. Just reading the aura alone is pretty garbage, when things like Deja Vu or Detective's Hunch exist.

I haven’t played Dead by Daylight in six months and recently got back into it again. I bought Xenomorph for the perk “Ultimate Weapon” because I find survivors stealthing and just playing immersion very boring and non-interactive, searching for them for half the game is very time consuming and could debatably be considered the same as a killer stalling the game by gen regression as it’s a way to stop the game from progressing as well.

Historically I notice a pattern of everytime a perk getting nerfed it becomes unusable, I’m hoping this doesn’t happen with Ultimate Weapon because it is such a Quality-of-Life improving perk specially when playing a killer that doesn’t have information built into their kit.

Also the last gen regression perk killers have gotten was when I first started playing the game around Onryo’s release - “Call of Brine”. And with almost every new update survivors have received a gen progression/speed perk. I really appreciate this information perk “Ultimate Weapon” when I first saw it I knew I had to fit it into my perk load out even tho it doesn’t synergies with the rest of the 3 perks because survivors playing stealth and me having to look over the entire map for them has to be my least favorite part of each game.

I hope the team keeps up the good work and continue to provide killers with such nice perks that improve our gameplay quality, thank you!¡!

Killer Instinct existed before Ultimate Weapon, use that if you can't find any survivors. Alternatively get better at the game and you'll find you won't even need the perk to begin with.

  • Insta-down mechanics usually are not fun, even the likes of Bubba has to work for it, he can't just zoom across the map in mere seconds. Billy needs some fine tuning just to balance a few things.

  • What are the cheaters doing? Because I often play at that time and barely see any.

  • Tunneling can be annoying, but at the end of the day, the objective of the killer is to kill/sacrifice the survivors one way or another. Unless the game is fundamentally changed so this can't be a thing, I don't see it being addressed at all. Suck it up and just move on to the next match or game

  • It's here, and it really is called "The Good Guy", sweet! No toy store map though... 😔

Hmm. I don't think people play as maps though. Though if you view Killers as not actually having a player behind them I can see the similarities.

Yes that's exactly what I meant clearly, cue the sarcasm incase you thought there was none behind it.

  • @AssortedSorting said:

Why don't you play some of those under-used characters yourself and help increase the pool of players playing those characters?

I do, but I can't or don't always want to play killer. People don't want to always play the same maps and that was adjusted, I see similarities in the two. Again not bothered either way, just an idea.

  • @DaddyMyers_Mori said:

Oh right, because queue times are too short, right?

It really depends honestly, sometimes queues insta-pop, other times they take a while. Never claimed them to be short though, just a little variety in killers would be enjoyable once in a while that's all. It just gets boring when we have like 30ish killers and we might get the same ones multiple matches a row. I'm not bothered either way, just a suggestion.

  • It reminds of a player I met in-game with the name SM or Knight = DC. That same match we got a Knight and they DC as soon as they saw the killer, ruined it for the rest of the survivors. It's still a team based game, it don't matter who the killer is, everyone else is making an effort, you should too.

  • It solves nothing. You really need to be focused in the match not messing around in text chat. As for voice chat, most people do not care, they either will not use it or won't communicate at all (unless they intend to be toxic), you only need to look at other popular games to see this. If you want to take this as a serious competitive game, find other people/friends to queue with and jump in Discord, that's all you need. A ping system would be neat though, that's enough to make a difference.
