  • Some survivors will just give up on hook to avoid them being the last one to get mori'd. Maybe it's petty but so is slugging, the vicious circle just got amplified...

  • Allow all legendary skins to be their own character with a bloodweb, and unlock bloody cosmetics through prestige like all the others. Some really do deserve their own place in the roster, Chris, Claire, James, Naughty Bear etc.

  • To be honest, it would have been funny to have just left Distortion as it was; because anyone who is hiding until they are the last one remaining is now pretty much guaranteed to get mori'd the moment the killer finds them 😂

  • I don't get how this is different to many other perks that reveal the killers aura. Dark Sense, Fogwise, Object etc, what would make this perk unique?

  • Premonition should basically be the effect that's in 2v8 where you get a warning when you've been revealed to the killer. It's not even unbalanced either cause the killer would still see your aura, but you'd just get a little headstart to react. Perhaps a secondary effect also reveals other survivor auras for a couple of seconds when it activates.

  • 3. Well it depends on the number of survivors. If there are only two left, once one gets found, they'll be chased, slugged and then the killer will go looking for the last one left. And now with the Mori changes, you can bet that one of the survivors is going to get killed. Three or more survivors hiding... well that is probably a skill issue.

  • Possibly if it was limited to the obsession, or perhaps who isn't the obsession maybe, but even then it feels niche just as it is. You'd be going the entire match with one less perk until the gates were powered. Least with No Way Out you're being rewarded throughout the match to give increasing effects. A secondary effect might be needed...

  • I literally want the pants back from the Fire Moon* outfit, it would look decent with the kitty hoody. Though the fact Vittorio has a cyberpunk style outfit and Gabriel doesn't is wild...

(*Anyone who missed it, this outfit was bugged for a while and could be worn as individual pieces)

  • The Distortion change would have been more tolerable if killer aura perks weren't being buffed/reworked literally every patch. It might need a slight buff, the problem is some of the strongest killers can take you down pretty quickly so it's hard to get it back tokens on occasion.

  • It feels like at this point just give killers permanent wall hacks because they're practically nearly there with it... Though in all seriousness, BHVR could lean in to Killer Instinct more, it has no counter but it's also more tolerable to manage than aura reading. A Huntress is going to have an easier time hitting an aura than a Killer Instinct warning, so the survivors at least have some chance. I don't think it's a good time to invite new players to try survivor at the moment...

  • Depends which option you use in the settings. The "Hide My Name" option still reveals your name on the match scoreboard at the end, so anyone could just look you up on the relevant platform. Using "Anonymous Mode" will completely hide you from anyone (other than friends), and you name will be replaced with your character's during the match and on the scoreboard, thus no one should be able to track you.

  • I guess they could reduce the hitbox, but as balance there could be a crosshair that's available for all players regardless of platform. BHVR have stated they have no issues PC players using a crosshair, but then only one group benefits from this so yeah make it universal and go from there for further adjustments if necessary.

  • You can set separate buttons for dropping pallets and for healing others, so those are two things you can already adjust. Of course there are a few other things that do conflict, i.e. trying to heal someone else but also yourself with Self Care, this is very apparent in 2v8 where all survivors have access to that action.

  • The mode needs more killers. Huntress is by far one of the most popular killers but if everyone queues with her, of course matching is going to take a long time. Survivors don't have this issue they just pick and change whenever they want. I think perhaps killers should have a "Request Switch" option in their lobby so if they want to change with their partner then they can. Naturally that doesn't solve all the other issues, but it's a start.

  • As uncommon as it might be, not all players are bringing offerings to gain an advantage, some truly do just want to play on a specific map and that's fine. Though the system has a whole does need to be reworked.

  • It will still be a boring mode to play, it just wasn't exciting at all and having classes wouldn't change that. I also generally like to be able to see what's going on with relatively clear vision, hence why I don't really like The Dredge much either, but alas Nightfall is at least more tolerable than Lights Out.

I think they fixed it. I swear i saw laura at the bottom of the list yesterday

She is in the correct order now... But I think this is because BHVR have set it a time limit to stay at the top for a period of time (like a month?) as a form of promotion, and then once that time is up, the character goes at the bottom.

PTBs are a fine enough idea, but make it so EVERYONE can opt in. Otherwise console users never get to have feedback.

Console players can... they just need to also own a PC that can play DbD and have access to Steam.

Blizzard used to do a PTB for Overwatch back in the day, (although they still do it for WoW). OW2 however now just tests things in the live game for a period of time. Want data on a new character, Blizz made them available for a weekend for everyone to try; regardless of platform, a month before they intend to release them. Could a similar thing be viable for DbD, well maybe... but let's be real, the game already has a ton of bugs; some even game breaking, we don't need to make it worse.

Saying that you have to pay for Save the World is a weak argument as you have to pay for DBD too. So you actually have to doubly pay for the licensed content in it. The fact remains you can get V-bucks for free or by buying them (crazily enough, so are Iri shards) thus allowing you to get the licensed content for free.

Sure sure... it ain't changing, get over it.

  • "I know I am in the minority here but it's been really frustrating to suffer penalties for things I don't control and not be able to play my favorite game for up to 24 hours lately because of it."

Up to 24hrs? Man if it's that bad you need to play something else that isn't online until you resolve your connection issues. You know you keep having problems but play anyway and disrupt all the other players in the match? Nah you need to stop.

I don't think hackers is a good enough reason. IP bans exist and this is how Fortnite handles cheaters. This is what should happen to repeat offenders. You can also ban VPNs to make it more difficult for them to come back. If you could control cheaters it would be better if the game were free to play at this point.

BHVR isn't a multi- billion dollar company with massive resources that they can throw to prevent cheating. Having a paywall is one way to mitigate this without being swamped in a losing battle, cause cheaters will always adapt, fact.

Also the game is often cheap, it's literally on sale almost every season. Granted in-game progression for unlocking stuff could be more generous, but in comparison to let's say Texas Chainsaw, it actually ain't that pricey.

In Fortnite you can earn V-Bucks by playing their second gamemode and then you can buy licensed skins for free.

Yes Save The World, that you need to spend actual money to purchase to play, it's not free. And V-bucks is still a premium currency, thus my question continues unanswered exactly as it was worded.

  • I mean they didn't even want to give Ellen Ripley the male model so I don't expect any changes. For the record Sigourny Weaver is like 6 foot something but the game's model is kinda tiny...

  • "Surely in terms of like Freddy, Pig, Myers etc BHRV have gotten more then their fair share from it. Why don't they become Iri shard payments after like a year or so? Is it just corporate greed?"

Are there other games out there that allow licenced content to be brought with currency that isn't premium? I'll wait.

  • To be honest the perk should just get a total rework like Tinkerer. The current Corrective Action can be a universal perk for everyone, and then a new one with a different effect is given to Jonah. I'd really like something that plays in to this genius, perhaps he can predict the location of a skill check before it appears.

  • Yeah it's wild, it's either no one comes or half the lobby does, sometimes even including killers! Often same with getting healed, you'll have like 4 people trying to heal you, like wut, go do a gen!

  • It's all about context I think. If you had a great chase with a killer and finally they got you, maybe they'll shuffle on your downed body little bit, that's alright it's just egos nothing major. Though I had one recently that a killer did it until I bled out, seriously, they stayed with me the entire time just shuffle my body, now that was a bit much. Alas this game has toxic players just like any other so it's nothing new, just move on to the next match.

  • I think one thing might be to give a survivor endurance for like 2 secs after they get hit, this would at least give a small window of protection against multiple hits from killers in succession. Of course the killers can just wait it out, but yeah I dunno what else to suggest.

  • I'm pretty sure "Dedicated Server not responding" does not give a DC penalty, at least there have been times when the exact same thing has happened to me and I didn't not receive a penalty afterwards. OP kindly just stop playing the game till you find an actual solution, 6 hours penalty is very serious and you've disrupted multiple games for your matched teammates.

I never said it was as common as Windows, but to say it's rare is completely wrong. Windows is literally the most common perk at the moment so literally every other perk isn't as common as Windows.

Also Nightlight lists Distortion at #10:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/TCER90VVVPU8/image.png

It beats out 4 Exhaustion perks in use rate.

Boy I didn't say you "said" anything, I was just stating a fact. And it being "rarer" (not rare btw) is based on personal experience, which is not wrong, and again nightlight does not track every single use as data needs to be manually added, therefore again just because you personally see it once every match don't mean it's common for everyone else.

  • I think 2v8 has already allowed us to experience this in action. As a survivor (can't remember about killer, queue times lol) you don't see the others' prestige level at all until the match results, and that's kinda alright. Sure I'll still be judging a survivor based on their cosmetics, but least it's just that and not their level as well 😅

  • @ReverseVelocity said:

And let's be honest, many says that it hurts a killer who brings a full aura build, but realistically they're not gonna face a lot of survivors with distortion.

Distortion is a relatively common perk, though? I usually have at least 1 person running it a large number of my games.

But then it's not as common as let's say Windows of Opportunity, or exhaustion perks. Even using the unofficial Nightlight tracker, Distortion isn't even in the top most used perks, meanwhile killers have several aura perks. Granted this is not a perfect tracker but it paints a picture on perk usage. I can go multiple games and not see the perk at all or be the only one running it, it's often rarer then we think.

I'm not talking about 'survivors taking their time doing things' I'm specifically referring to survivors hiding for 5+ minutes (sometimes this can last upwards of 30 minutes) without touching a generator. I don't think there should necessarily be a time limit for matches, and I don't really understand your point here. What problem do you see with my proposed solution? I think it's intuitive (I didn't do the objective for over 5 mins so I have the crow effect). I think everyone would understand this implementation and there's literally no downside.

But that's what I'm highlighting, the fact survivors are in no rush to do anything means they can hide for 10min, get immersed etc whatever you think. No one ever thinks about the match timer as being a threat because unless you're playing against a killer who is camping 3 gens, matches seldom get drawn out for so long. So by making the match timer shorter, not only are survivors fighting against the killer, but also the timer, so eventually they have to do something you see what I'm saying.

Having no-objective crows isn't really that necessary, it's a thing that just doesn't happen enough to warrant. If it happens to you, raise your MMR, because higher skilled players mostly do not want to be sitting around doing nothing.

  • Matches can last up to 60mins I believe before it ends in defeat. If survivors want to take their time doing things, then it's really a design issue and not a survivor one. Survivors doing nothing is not that common, usually it's one or two maximum but even then it's mostly a solo queue problem. Decrease the timer then you don't need crows for refusing to do objectives.

  • "Trickster is impossible to play because of no autoaim "

See now you're just being dramatic. Trickster was buffed several patches ago, reducing his recoil making it a lot easier to aim on controller. If you're that desperate for K+M, buy a XIM or move to pc.

Lmao if you care about gen regression that much in a mode that's intended for fun, just play the normal one instead.

Rage is literally the most consistent emotion used on Spirit, all from the chapter trailer, old portrait, mori, lore & in many of the cosmetic descriptions.

She may shift from rage to sadness in a few seconds, but most of her facial expressions falls back to rage as that's her defining trait both as an onryo, but also from the lore fact that her bloodline is cursed with the same rage Oni has as they're related to one another.

If literally everything else is consistent with the theme of rage, then her portrait should reflect that too, which unlike her old portrait, her current one does not.

    I disagree. That's it.

  • It's never too late to have a collab. Bubba exists in both DbD and TCM with no problem, same with Ash Williams with the Evil Dead game. Quite a few licenses coming in year 8 so who knows.

  • "so now that the bp event is over i will once again be leaving. and boy do i not want to come back."

You'll be back, you people always do.

  • Have you actually looked at her face in motion, it shifts between rage AND sadness, and it should reflect that.

  • Even playing with no perks can kinda be interesting as well, even if it was not intended. Compared to one match where it gave both No Mither and Object of Obsession, I'd have preferred nothing in that instance 😂

  • I think we need to remember that Spirit although she has rage, she also has lots of other emotions because of what happened to her in the lore, she isn't just some angry little girl, there is also sadness. So although the new portrait isn't perfect, the original also isn't a great reflection either.

  • Depends what hex perks you're running. Plaything can be pretty amazing in the right hands, and even if it does get cleansed, it's time wasted not doing objectives. Boons also need some attention too so probably they might get buffed together at the same time who knows.

  • Map offerings should be disabled in this mode. Maybe other items could be random too but I'm on the fence about that.

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

Distortion should be nerfed, because some survivors use it to excessively hide from the killer, which causes many games where the other survivors have a reduced chance of winning.

Remember that some killer perks get nerfed because of the way that SOME killers use them. For example, some killers aren't stacking regression perks, but the regression perks are getting nerfed because SOME killers are stacking 3 or 4 of them together. Likewise, Distortion should be nerfed because of the ways that SOME survivors use it.

Within reason, killers tend to run a lot of aura reading. The majority of survivors are taking Distortion as a fair counter, meanwhile a small number take it purely for immersive purposes. The players that do the latter usually get found by experienced killers anyway.

  • Yeah Chemical is a secondary action, because consider you have Any Means Necessary as well which also is a pallet interaction, they can't both be on the game button. It's something you need to have separate from other actions otherwise you'll have cases when you can't use them, or unintentionally will.

Some people are just bad in chase no matter how much practise they do. I have thousands of hours on survivor and am terrible at it.

This is true, everyone has a skill ceiling no matter how hard they try to practice and get better. Some players are more comfortable doing other objectives knowing chases/loop might not be their strong suit.

  • "1 NO PERKS SURVIVOR BUG."

I'm sure it's not a bug. Killers also have a chance to load in to the mode with no perks as well. It's just more common to happen to survivors with it being a 1 in 4 chance. But sure no one complains when the killer has no perks huh...

  • "Matches are not even lasting 5 minutes, killers taking advantage of it too knowing teammates dying on hook and just tunnelling out the rest and camping because they know it's a guaranteed loss for us"

Let me ask you, what are killers supposed to do in this situation? A nice killer might allow the survivors to do a couple of gens and then kill them, or farm some points together etc. But if they don't, it's likely that the killer just wants out match at quickly as possible because going 1v3 just isn't as fun for them either. Sure it's annoying when someone gives up on hook, (sometimes it's warranted) but if a player wants to forfeit then they will find a way regardless.

  • It's an experiment on how many players uses certain perks as a crutch. You take certain things away and suddenly anything goes, and that's refreshing to experience. Of course there are many caveats to saying something is a crutch, often some perks are just necessary because of game design, but others less so and it shows when someone can't function without it.

The mode is still fun and competitive tryhards are always going to exist no matter where they are, but yeah it could with some adjustments in the future.
