  • To be honest, prestige means nothing. It's just a number and I've been matched with survivors who have high prestige that play like absolute dog water. Maining one survivor and getting their prestige to a high level does not equal skill. It's the same in many other games that have levels, and there are other factors to look out for to gauge skill, level is not one of them.

  • It's solo queue, if you want to really be coordinated with others then you would find people to queue up with beforehand and probably be on Discord or something. Voice comms is not some magic elixir that will solve everything, if anything a very basic ping system would work better in the long run.

  • I mean it seems the new perk is the one causing the problem because we've had stackable haste perks for a while already, i.e. Hope, Blood Pact, Power of Two, Dark Theory etc. Granted the examples had certain requirements/restrictions to using them but stacking is nothing new. You balance the one being taken advantage of the most, not nerf everything else.

  • It's being adjusted in the next hotfix. We'll see how this works out...

EMP creates reduced to 4 per map and increasing EMP charge time to 2.5 secs (from 2.0s). Survivor movement speed will also be slowed while they are charging it.

  • You would also want to avoid making the Demogorgon too OP as unless the Devs bring back the licence for everyone to be able to purchase it again; then only the limited number of players that already own the content would benefit from the changes. Of course I'm not saying the killer shouldn't get any adjustments, just yeah you want it accessible to everyone to keep it fair right.

  • I suppose one way of doing it is offering a reward for playing certain killers that don't have a very high pick rate. It would be like the killer/survivor bonus you get at the moment for whichever is most in need for matchmaking, except the killer one could be more specific. I see Wesker, Legion and Gunslinger pretty often, perhaps an incentive could get those players on to other killers, hmm maybe...

  • Tutorials don't always equal an increase in player skill. Many things you just don't learn and master until you are actually in those situations, and every single one those will always be different (in PvP modes) because you just can't predict everything that's going to happen. Should tutorials have some updates to reflect changes in a game, yeah sure, but skill is something a player will get over time, not in a forced scripted environment.

  • The Blizzard reports mean absolutely nothing though because it's all automated. If enough people report one player; whether it's for a legit reason or not, the system will implement action against them automatically, like a dev ain't even going to check to see if the punishment is deserving or not. The message from Blizzard is just a placebo, makes you think you feel good but actually might not have done anything at all.

  • Sometimes tea bagging is just one of the only ways you can communicate, doesn't mean you're always trying to be ass and gloat about anything. Maybe having more emotes available would reduce tea bagging... but eh unlikely.

  • No one wants to spend longer than necessary in one spot when it comes to healing, players want to be doing other things. And then it comes to players potentially having to take certain perks (to combat the healing change), now that ain't fun; especially when the devs have mentioned several times (to many things in the past) that survivors shouldn't be forced to run specific perks. There are other ways to balance survivor healing, this doesn't seem like one of them.

  • Killers often do it as some sort of revenge. Maybe you just spent the last 10mins wasting their time with constant looping, then when they finally get you, suddenly they get a power rush. Is hitting you repeatedly on the hook unsportsmanlike? Yeah possibly, but unfortunately camping be legit.

Sadly it's physically impossible for bhvrs server to distinguish a connection loss from a pulled plug/turned off lan adapter/router.

I think if you get kicked from a match and it literally gives you the error message "Lost Connection to Host" or whatever it is, I'm pretty sure that's different to someone manually choosing to "Leave Match", any internal match logs would show that. And yeah, it may be difficult to distinguish sometimes, but if there is a whole weekend of suspicious DDoS activity, asking for penalties to be refreshed isn't unreasonable.

  • Only if they also make adjustments so that disconnects from no fault of the player isn't counted towards the DC penalty. When those "alleged" DDoS attacks happened and people constantly being disconnected but getting penalties, yeah that wasn't really fair.

  • For me it's the Nemesis perk that let's you see all the survivors at the start of the match. Everyone just barely loaded in and already there's injuries everywhere within like the first minute...

  • Anyone who has played Overwatch and been in voice chat will know that sometimes, you're just better off without it. People get titled, become toxic, throw profanity etc, so you either mute them or just leave the chat completely. If you got good enough game sense in DbD, you really don't need chat that much at all.

You can change your settings so only friends can send messages. Non-friends can send friend requests, but few salty people will go that far, and even if they do, they're easy to ignore.

On PS4/PS5 I haven't seen an actual message from another player since 2019.

Sure you can do that, though having messages open to anyone sometimes is alright. Come across a few chill players in the game will message after the match with things like GG, fun game etc. Still, playing DbD occasionally makes you want to change this setting to friends only to avoid the toxic stuff! :D

  • Even if you ain't a streamer, some players just like the privacy. I dunno about PC, but on console other players can pretty easily find your profile (if they're on the same platform) and send you unwanted messages. Some people just get toxic for no reason, so it's either you turn on anonymous mode or change your (platform) profile settings to not get messages from non-friends.
