Just give survs an noticable indicator when she starts to phase. A scream, glowing up, whatever.
Because i'm annoyed of survs saying she has no counterplay when she does the "stand still on a pallet MIndGaMe".
-
Overall these are all added, potential advantages PC players have over console players.
We can't even change the quality settings to get better fps.
Crossplay is very fair, isn't it?
-
DbD isn't balanced for high level play / high MMR and it prob will never be. It's basicly only Nurse, long que times, a lot of slugging and 1 hooking or you get gen rushed into oblivion.
-
@Axe said:
how would they fix it? How would the "fix" work for people who play on 4:3 and 16:10 monitors?
Who's playing on a 4:3 monitor in 2021? Like 0,001% of the DbDs playerbase?
-
You want more FOV? Use Shadowborn (a perk slot)! Changing the gamefiles should be bannable.
It only isn't, because they don't know how to track it. Or they're scared to lose this part of the playerbase.
Not only strechted res + more fps gives both sides an advantage, brighten screens are way more common. It says all when people come into Tru3s stream and ask him why his game looks so dark. Well, thats how's the game supposed to be, for everyone! Because it's an asymmetrical, comepetive HORRORGAME. Now think about console players who can't change anything. Fair, right? And please don't come with the "just turn crossplay off if you don't like it" arguement. I just want the same rules for EVERYONE.
-
Even after 4 years, DbD is still balanced arround R10 solo Q. Always keep that in mind.
-
Competitive. But i don't like advantages over skill, like 4 stacks of second chance perks or NOED.
Also i'm not bringing items or addons in the trial, most of the time.
-
Got 3 farming bot killers in a row yesterday night. They just stand still and hit M1.
Third one was a Legion. After all gens were done i got smacked with NOED and he hooked me. Tx for the LOLs.
On console with crossplay we don't see endgame chat, but at least we still can report for using exploits.
-
Why should M&K with a tool be bannable? Console players have a big disadvantage with crossplay vs. PC players with potential stretched res, brighten screens and better fps. And even if you somehow managed to use M&K on console, it doesn't make your framerate better anyway.
-
NOED is the only reason tunneling works. Effective, but not very skillfull.

DH is useless unless you've been hooked already, as you won't be injured dye to instadown.
Well, what's the problem then?
Don't get me wrong. As many huntress mains i don't find IRIs skillfull. And there comes the balance. Because IRIs are used by not huntress mains, which are not really good with her anyway. The only thing i would change is that the insta only should prog at >20m.
-
Thing is, they promised us 4k / 60fps in DbD on next gen consoles. Which still isn't the case.
-
Who cares about 1 hatchet? And even 3 aren't a big thing. Most survs have DH anyway, so just don't heal and do gens as always.
-
Found that pretty funny. Even it depends 100% on the survs beeing really stupid and takes 0% skill.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epHtgtwWutY -
First thing i check is if they brought me there intentionally with an offering and if the basement window is open or not.
If it is i just meme arround.
-
I like his idea, this is def gonna be more interesting to watch then just camping/tunneling/slugging. Potential 12 chases and 12 hooks, way more gameplay. Best surv strat would be to seperate on 4 different gens (which is the best strat anyway). Teleporting and fast killers (Nurse, Spirit, Freddy, Demo, Blight, Wraith, Oni, Billy will get the most out of Ruin obv, all they need is Tinkerer. I had a few games with Ruin all game on both sides, it's not that hard. And remember, it would be with SWFs, so they can coordinate gens, chases and safes.

Yeah, I get it, it’s definitely not great the way it is.
but we can at least agree this is not something ‚forced‘ by BHVR? They can’t control what settings the community uses or on which platform they should play.
if they made older platforms play automatically with newer platforms with crossplay off it would be another ‚forced‘ setting, and there would be more players affected.
BHVR can’t please every single player on this matter.
and those logos might just make those pointless console-wars even bigger. Don’t need that on top of everything else the community already fights about.
I got your arguements, but i keep my opinion.

No force involved though.
and they are essentially different platforms so it does totally make sense. Many people have crossplay turned off on the older XBox/PS platforms because they didn’t want to be matched against platforms with significant higher performance.
As i said, the problem is that the playerbase on Xbox Series X and PS5 is so small, that we don't even get a match with crossplay off. Normaly i play with crossplay on anyway, but i tested it a few days ago. Tried it a few times and finally, after like 50mins i got qued. And only because they were SWFs and at least 1 had a Xbox Series X aswell. If the que times take ages, it's kinda forced. At least till the new consoles are more spread. They should que Xbox with Xbox and PS with PS anyway, no matter which version you own. Would make it also easier to add a Xbox, PS, Switch, Stadia, Windows Store, Stadia or Steam logo in the endgame screen, instead of just the globe.
-
Wait, so that means they DO seperate players from different Xbox and Play Station versions. Because i'm playing actually on Xbox Series X with crossplay on and was able to get crossplay matches the last few days. That beeing said, if you deactivate crossplay on Xbox Series X or PS5, you're not even get matched with Xbox One / S/ Series S or PS4 / Pro players. Which is really bad if you don't want to crossplay as the playerbase on Xbox Series X and PS5 is really small atm. And that means crossplay is kinda forced on the new consoles.

I play on PS5. Game is smooth except when popping a lunar event gen or hooking a survivor on a lunar event hook. And sometimes I get poor FPS when walking next to a completed gen
Same on Xbox Series X sadly. Bring an offering for the reworked SAW map next time and post your fps-experience.
-
Gen defense or slugging/camping/tunneling/NOED. Make your choice!
-
So the killer wasn't near your hook nor pushed them off the gens...
I only solo Q and appreciate when they finish their gen first. Most ppl seem to forget you have 1minute for each hookstate. Just make sure your mate doesn't get into the next hook phase. And yeah, run Kindred. A lot. It's still the best perk in solo Q.

So where I live, it is snowing. And usually, when it snows I lose connection to the server and I disconnect because of something that I can't control. I understand that DC penalties were created to prevent people from DCing too much and joining and do the same thing consistently. But the one problem with this is that there is no real way to determine whether the Disconnect purpose was intentional or it was something that cant be controlled so as an internet outage. I do not want to have this happen to me a lot anymore because if it does I could end up becoming banned from this game temporarily or permanently and I do not want that to happen to me. So, are Dc penalties really necessary?
Can't really believe that, but if that's true... please just play another game when it snows, simple as that.
-
Having a GG = Win (both sides)
-
The reputation system on Xbox isn't really better. If a SWF decides to report you for no reason (and these "special" SWFs will always find reasons as it let them feels better after "losing"), there's not much you can do about 4x reports. DbD was the only game my rep went negativ at one point. Then they introduced crossplay. Till then i don't have to bother with rep and msgs anymore. The only thing i miss are the GG msgs.
My advice if you really don't want to activate crossplay would be: Don't react to any msg besides a "GG". Trust me, it's always a timewaste.
Or just deactivate msgs if you're not in a good mood or if you're very sensitive in general, it's more healthy.

The FPS fix is called PS5 and XBOX Series X. I fully expect bhvr to drop older gen support some point in the near future.
Did you played DbD on Series X or PS5 yet? FPS even got worse, at least on Series X.
Can't tell about PS5, can't afford both.
@Katzengott said:
This didn't happened on Xbox One X. If there is any lightsource like lanterns it causes massive FPS drops for both sides. Noticed it first on Badham Preschool, but it seems to happen on all the reworked maps.
Sorry for the OT, but i can tell you won't get anything with M&K if you're fps still drops down to 15.
-
Priorities should be to finally optimize the game so EVERY plattform has at least stable 60fps (as promised a long time ago).
Then we can talk about M&K support again. Because M&K support or higher sensivity doesn't make sense when you have bad fps anyway.
-
As i said before, the framerate drops happens always when there are certain lightsources in an area. Pretty sure it has something to do with either Ray Tracing or HDR, even it's not active in DbD yet, the UE engine supports it and Xbox Series X aswell. I think it all started with the Blight Chapter (introducing new light effects etc.).
And yes, from all maps, on the new SAW map it's worst and most noticable on both sides.
-
Imagine not killing yourself on first hook / DCing vs. these killers and learn how to counterplay?
Ban specific killers in lobbys is a terrible idea, just from a que-time point of view. And i don't like the mentality behind this neither.
-
Try to chase arround a gen which is already completed (or just walk arround there).
Do you notice huge framedrops aswell?
-
DBDs balance isn't ready for e-sports anyway, that's why they add specific rules in tournaments.
I don't think this was the reason. They already said they wanted better and more informations for solos to bring them closer to SWFs level.
-
Don't know what you mean with "PC Survivors". But yeah, DCing is a selfish move. That's why we have a penalty for that.
Wouldn't make a difference here between PC and console players, i've seen it both doing it. A lot.
-
@MandyTalk Switched from Xbox One X to Xbox One Series X recently and have the same problem on both sides.
Already made a thread about it: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/221334/lightning-sfx-on-rewoked-maps-causes-massive-fps-drops-on-xbox-one-series-x
The problem might be the new lighting effects intruduced back in 4.2.0
And it's not just generators, also fire barrels and other bigger light sources (esp. on Badham) are causing massive fps drops.

It’s 24m of additional aura reading, so right now 3 open handeds max it out
Wait, Open Handed does stack when more survs use it?
If that's the case, that's most likely the reason they have to overthink the buff from the PTB.
-
@TheClownIsKing said:

This says Open Handed does stack for Kindred’s aura reading
It def does. They also wanted to buff Open Handed in the last PTB, but i think they canceld that. (Why?)
-
Hatch is the problem. It always was. It's just boring. But that's the reason for both sides.
-
The only difference is DS.
-
@Shirokinukatsukami said:
Most killers are also bad at this game. They keep whining about DS and UB and DH.
The difference is: These meta survivvor perks will stay. Do you know why? Because 95% of the killers don't have the time to go for 12 hooks without Ruin/Undying.
-
I don't really think about that as you have no controlls on your teammates while playing solo.
At this point you can be happy if your team even do gens. The only thing i do is leaving 2 survs on a gen, as it's more effective to just go for another.

it was changed a long time ago to be nondirectional.
You can still call her distance as her humming is getting louder when she comes closer. So yes, making it nondirectional was a good change back then. But if you're like on a gen in a corner of a map you can pretty much pinpoint her location even without watching for her. That's why it is more scary to work on a gen in the middle of a map vs. huntress and you start to hear her humming... You better need to find out where she is asap in this situation.
-
And that's why Kindred is better for solos then Borrowed Time. It actually gives you a better understanding of the game.
-
If i see you run away after dropping ANY pallet, why should i break it? The only pallets i'll break instantly are god-pallets.

I can speak for myself, as im one player. Personally i love detective's hunch. If i do one gen, i could usually get 3-4 totems since i know the location of all most of that. After words i generally can find the last two rather quickly esp if a second gen is done. Even sooner if one of the totem is by the first gen. Now if it was undying.... yea thats an issue. Cause aura reading. Even if the killer camps. I rarely get hit by noed.
Secondly, i really feel like survivors should get over complaining about camping. Im sorry but its in the game. Devs stated nothing is gonna be done about it.
Thirdly.. this revolves around perk choices.. if every survivor damn near runs the same perks but complains about noed? Like i know this is a strawman argument but no one finds this ironic? No one calls out survivors on this? Like there is tools to not be hit with noed. But yet, we are here. In a thread. Complaining about noed. im not saying you are, but like im not the only person that sees this right?
Lastly, noed to me is like corrupt intervention. Essentially you end up playing with 3 perks most of the game, yet i guess noed is more op to people, because they feel like if they do the gens they win? Idk.
Oh one last thing to add: if noed kills more than 1. Its because survivors got too altruistic. Which (yes i use noed sometimes cause its funny af, tho i dont need it) is pretty funny in endgame.
What do you mean takes more skill and is more fun for both sides:
Getting potential 12 hooks and a 4k or get like 4 hooks and a potential 4k.
I'll leave you with that. That's the difference between Ruin/Undying and NOED.
-
@Bullettimegod said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1895206#Comment_1895206
Noed actually. Here me out.
Noed requires you to play with 3 perks. Where undying gives a lot of infortmation. Plus noed gives people a reminder of a secondary objective. A harsh reminder. If survivors are hit with noed, its because they are bad. And vice versa.
Undying str was in the aura reading part of it. Which made it not impossible but so very very hard to cleanse totems. Esp when solo cause you cant communicate.
Are both of these perks crutches? No. Are both these perks op? Subjectively one is. And spoiler, it isnt noed. Do you want me to go on to why? Or do you have a grasp of what im saying? I could go into why noed is balanced.
If you're unlucky with Ruin/Undying, you play with only 2 Perks left. It will be like that soon anyway.
All it needs is them bringing a map or totems perks. I only play solo, the only question was WHEN to actually do a gen and when go for totems. The maps are big and the killer can only be at one place. NOED is totally fine vs. SWFs, as you can blame them for ignoring totems. With solos you have not much coordination and there will be at least 1 totem left most of the time.
Also NOED prevents killers improving their gameplay. That's why you can already tell by 80% they'll have NOED when they're to focused on just 1 surv, not switching targets, don't know tiles and do have no good map pressure. You can lit camp 1 guy and tunnel him to death. At this point all gens are done and you get the extra kill with NOED. Is this skill? No. But is it a 2k as intended by the devs? Yes.
And then you have (had) Ruin/Undying which doesn't work by itself. If you camp, you won't get anything out of it. You have to apply the map pressure everybody talk about. You have to understand it's 4 vs. 1, not 1 vs. 1. It also gives survs a secondary objective. And it can be easy countered with just one of them bringing a map. Or just switch one small ppl perk into Dectives Hunch. Also Ruin/Undying gave both sides much more potential chases, longer games and more points overall. And last but not least, it gave many killers the time to actually play more fair. Just like old Ruin did.

I know youre being sarcastic. But i have to ask, are you trying to compare undying to noed?
Just ask yourself what takes more skill of them both. Which one shows once more again the game is balanced around Rank 10?
And which one gives you a better understanding of the game as killer, as you need actually to work for it.
-
Funny how NOED and Insidious is still in the game, but Ruin/Undying needs to go. Because "training wheels" are taking no skill, right? /s
-
Don't even bother to chase a OoO and hope they're not on comms.
The only time you want to chase the OoO is when it wants the unhook or at least 1-2 are already dead.
-
The solution would be so simple: Just give us ingame options for brightness, like in every other game. On consoles we don't even have quallity options, i don't get it. I bet we could have at least stable 60fps with low settings, if we wanted to. Just think about perfomance/grafic mode. If this would be a thing, editing the gamefiles on PC should be bannable. But till then PC players will always have a potential advantage over console players.
When you force crossplay (the que times are way longer with crossplay off), ALL plattforms should be able to play under the same conditions.
-
Action - Reaction.
-
Each Killer not playing / taking a break / switching sides means 4 Survivors need to wait longer.
The other way around, 1 Survivor not playing isn't that bad, as the free slot will be filled much quicker (as we have way more Survivors playing).
It's all about action - reaction. But yeah, keep SWFs untouched and keep the balancing catering for R10 Survivors.
But it's also the way many Survivors are playing / acting in the endgame-chat. Killers should only reply with "Enjoy your que times" these days.
