  • 2 matches doesn't equal PROOF for anything.

But i agree, a SWF indicator post-game would be nice.

I mean, can you NOT look at shadows when you realize they are wacky like this and waving their weird arm menacingly?

It's just how humans work. Once you realize something or someone told you, you most likely are more aware of it for a period of time.

But DBD has some more important issues, so i get why it's no high priority for BHVR atm.

  • If you have the time to look at your own shadow as killer, you're doing something wrong. (LOL)

Or you just won anyway, like in this case. But yeah, it's a known bug for all killers since a very long time.

  • No UI would make a nice gamemode for me. Call it "Hardcore" or "Nightmare" and don't allow any items / addons aswell.

Ppl would know pretty quick most killers will just camp, so survs doing gens anyway.

Only problem here are survs on comms, obv. Not gonna happen. Splitting the playerbase is also very risky (queue times).

  • Better question is: Why is just not every hook a scourched one if you use the perk? Except basement.

  • Pentimento is very underrated in my exp. All you need is to KEEP at least one, the first stack (- 30% gen speed).

Need to be paired with other HEX perks ofc. Once they started cleansing, it's pretty much gg.

Try Pentimento, Ruin, Plaything, Undying (or Thana, Haunted Grounds) and see it's potential. Worst case: They're only booning and never cleanse.

  • NOED is only strong in solo queue. SWFs can count and call out locations for dull totems.

Had so many matches were i actually cleansed 4 dull totems with Detictives Hunch. Won't matter if you don't know about the rest of your team.

On the other hand it's very satisfying for me to prevent NOED from even happening. But with the current Boon-Meta, NOED is stronger then ever. Survs rarely cleanse dull totems these days. Even there's is at least 1 dull totem left, it's pretty much RNG if they find it in time.

  • IRI Grade 1 only shows that a player played alot in that season. It's way more easier now to climb up the grades, as you can't go down in colors anymore. And as long ppl still calling them "ranks", ppl will be confused. There're NO RANKS anymore in DBD, get that out of your head.

The steamID64 is only required if you report from Steam, as the other platforms have no way to do so, instead you just need to put their in-game name in the report and explain in the description that you are reporting them from a different platform.

Most console players play with crossplay on. If we do a report, how does in-game names help when they're on Steam where they can change their names anyway as often as they want? I know there is a site were you can find out their steamID (if they're actually on Steam ofc). Wouldn't that be necessary to do for a valid report?

Also, is it possible to upload and link evidence (screenshots or clips) from PC? I'm on XSX and we can do that with Microsoft Onedrive.

  • Here we go again. Guess some ppl prefer to get camped and tunneled. Both perks were just buffed, so enjoy them as they'll prob only last for 2-3 months. They'll nerf both perks again and take away the insentify for killers to actually leave the hook and going for more hooks over kills.

We are BHVR, masters at bandaid fixes instead of working on the foundation and the root of all balance problems.

  • DBD forums in a nutshell. Remember, THESE are the ppl BHVR is balancing for. GJ.

  • I don't think BHVR even thought about strechted / brighten screens when they enabled crossplay. Not really fair, isn't it?

Also i don't get why DBD doesn't have ingame brightness settings, like ANY OTHER game. Or a graphic/perfomance mode.

The off chance you run into some of the more brazen hackers who take the game hostage you can at times have to choose between eating the penalty or waiting for them to finally leave. That should be rare though considering if for some reason the game isn't ending like it should that is usually when people will start recording the screen to setup a report ticket.

Question: Did you actually ever get hold hostage ingame by a cheater? Or anyone else in this thread? In my exp it happens "only" to bigger streamers (which is bad enough ofc). But i have the feeling, "normal" players use that as an excuse to get rid of DC penalties.

Best solution would be that the server shuts down at any costs when the EGC timer ends. (and not 2h)

Lol true im definately putting pebble into my build as soon as i unlock it

so far i got deception diversion red herring and quick and quite

This is already a good build, keep it. Very gimmicky, but fun. You could swap out Red Herring for Head on.

Downside of Red Herring is that you actually waste alot of time. Also the others survs could be just at this gen.

  • "because there are just some matches you NEED to leave"

    Why?

  • Nothing better then watching the killer look for Pebble. You can Pebble everything. Gens, vaults, lockers, even useless Teammates.

Can be combinded with Red Herring. With Iron Will you can even try to lose chase.

  • I just had a Blight. Crazy angles, try that on console!

(Besides that, i really enjoy versing him)

  • Playing solo q only since 2017 and nothing really changed. You would be suprised how far you can get if you actually STAY IN THE GAME, not killing yourself on the hook or DC. Also now with MMR (when it works, the teammates you get are like a mirror of yourself), it's very time-depended WHEN you play. In the afternoon and after midnight i do very well with my teams. Could be that some of them are on comms, idk as there isn't an indicator for SWFs yet in the endgame screen, which i really would like to see.

The game isn't that complicated, the basics are quite simple. Do gens, always have Kindred, play smart. That's pretty much it. Sometimes things are happening which aren't in your control. Just except it and move on. And remember: It's just both sides doing their objectives. So if you had a really bad game, switch to killer... and it will be prob worse. LOL.

  • Why do you think flashlight clicking and tbagging is still a thing? BHVR could easily get rid of it if they want to, but no, they even made the animations better (they said this about tbagging). Does it add any gameplay for survivors or is it just a tool for bming? Compare it to a killer, hitting a survivor on the hook. The difference is: That's actually gameplay, countered by Borrowed Time and doing gens.

Overwatch has voice and text chat through crossplay between xbox, ps, switch, and pc. I think its just because the majority of the community doesn't want it.

Doesn't make sense then why PC has it. Remember: There's always the option to dissable it ingame.

  • BHVRs system can't see why you disconnected. Penalties are working as intended. The other 4 remaining players don't care WHY someone DCd aswell, it's always a bad thing, even for the stats. So either fix your NAT-settings (just google your router, i've done it many times before) or stop playing.

  • It's not about "hatchet hitboxes", it's about survivor hitboxes. Even after adding ranged killers, they never changed how hitboxes work.

  • Microsoft and Sony are the main reason we don't have crossprogression nor endgame chat i asume.

Works in Sea of Thieves, but that's just Steam and Microsoft.

  • Perfect example why you NOT want to balance for NEW and / or BAD players. Even when they're the loud, screaming mass.

  • BT belongs to Bill. No perk ever got base kit on both sides in 5 years, highly doubt they will change that.

  • Camping, tunneling and / or slugging are part of the game, esp. in high MMR. (nobody asked for this, but hey)

If you take it personal and can't deal with it, don't play. Simple as. Don't ruin the game for others by DCing or killing yourself on the hook.

You would be supprised, 5 gens aren't that hard to finish if 4 survs are just STAYING IN THE GAME.

  • Just watch the gameplay and don't listen for the voice. Do you think these are good survivors?

When your answer is "yes", you have no idea what high MMR looks like.

  • Tru3 has ~7k hours in this game. From what i've seen, he doesn't play killer any different as other veteran content creators. Most killers (besides nurse, blight and huntress) have a low-mid skillcap. Once you've reached that, there's not really much to learn anymore. Sure, you can increase your brightness, use filters and streched to see better and more, but it's not intended nor balanced this way, unfair with crossplay aswell.

At the end it's all about effiencity on both sides. DBD is killer-sided with bad survs, and surv-sided with good survs.

Veterans already knew that for years, now MMR opens more and more eyes. Hopefully.

  • From a rational point of view, tunneling (and i mean REALLY tunneling) one survivor early out of the game is still the most efficient tactic a killer can do to get a 4k. If you manage to find the weakest link of the team early, thats even better. There are only 4 problems: DS, Unbreakable, Boons and bodyblocking teammates. DS has obv the biggest impact, it's just a guessing game if they have the perk or not.

Gens will fly anyway in high MMR, so there's nothing wrong with both sides playing there objectives effectively. Survivors tunnel gens, Killer tunnels Survivors - It is what it is. Many survs will call you a camper / tunneler anyway, regardless how you play. So why not just do it. When it happens to me as surv, i'm more mad of my team not doing gens.

    Doctor can shock them

    Deathslinger shoots right through it

Clown can throw a bottle at it

Trapper can trap the snowman forcing them out

All killers can hit the snowman in the face to severely reduce the distance the survivor makes. Add stbfl to that and they won't make any pallet they wouldn't have made anyway.

Huntress hatchets into m1 especially after hitting snowman in the face also ensures they barely make any distance

You need to be a good distance away cause you can get hit during the jump animation

They can be annoying but they are far from insurmountable

Ghostface is one of the only killers that gets really screwed by the snowman.

    Twins get screwed in general

Didn't know about some of these details yet, esp. hitting snowman in the face. Need to test that.

But it won't change the fact, that in past events BOTH sides got something (besides the cosmetics).

Or can you tell any benefits from snowman when playing against good survivors, who know how to use them?

That's what i meant when i said "first surv-sided event".

  • As i said before, this is actually the first survivor-sided event, at least in high MMR.

Survivors can just use them to tank hits / bodyblock. And besides Bubba and Trickster, all other killers can't do anything about it.

  • The real issue with this event is the fact, that it's the first surv-sided-only event. Or can you tell me how it's not?

  • Do they get tournamented this way? If so, tx for sharing.

  • Ppl complain about the weirdest sh*t in DBD. I do whatever i want on both sides!

  • I stopped reading after "red ranks". At least OP understood that it just shows playtime. There are no ranks anymore, we have grades now. And as you can't really lose progression anymore, it's almost impossible to not reach iridescent (red) in a season when you just played enough in one month.

  • Hate is such a big word. In my exp most Mikaela just act cocky af, but in a solo team boons are more of a time waster for them if you know how to deal with it. And by that i mean PRIORITIES. Never go out of your way to just snuff out boons. Down and / or hook first, then kick the boon if you heard it earlier and only if its really close. And at some point they will waste more time re-blessing totems instead of just normal healing and doing gens, thats the snowball for the killer. Playing surv with totem hunter builds for a long time also helped me to know almost every totem spot. But you don't even need that, you can hear them quite easily anyway with headphones.

Boons are only strong with well coordinated survs on comms, most of the time.

  • Just the fact your penalty already added up to 6 hours shows that you deserved it. Stop with the excuses.

  • @Phasmamain said:

pro tip do a circular motion while wiggling

This is how i used it most of the time.

And now it seems some deadzones are "noodled out". (I'm from germany and this term fits fine for me)

  • Priority should be stable 60fps on ALL plattforms first, as they promised years ago.

A graphic/performance mode could help on consoles as we have no quality settings.

  • The only real counters i can think of are plague and legion.

Looks like boons aren't as bad as i thought. They're a big "timewaste" for survs, even more in solo queue.

I came to the point that boons actually help against the "rush gens injured" and DS, DH, BT, UB meta.

Except when they're really coordinated with matching builds, medkits and SWFs on comms.

BTW, does the blessing action (not the healing) negates DS?

If you didn't know, Inner Healing doesn't as long you cleansed the totem earlier.

  • In other multiplattform games just a simple graphics/performance mode is the solution.

But i won't expect that anytime SOON from a game which not even have brightness settings.

  • Using a flashlight as intended isn't toxic.

  • Even as the big SH fanboy i am, i'm not gonna spend almost 15 bucks just to play as James Sunderland in DBD.

BHVR, Konami... WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!

  • Why are penalties still off now they did the killswitch? The infinite loading screens won't give you a penalty anyway.

Solo Queue is like anarchy again, which ruins the whole event.

  • A bigger streamer really made me addicted to it, now it's even better. Very helpfull when playing solo to avoid deadzones or know when to run early. On indoor maps it can work as a killer tracker. Synergies very well with any exhaution perk. And in high level it also helps to see the map rng better, almost instantly. But my main reason i started using it were the map changes after 4.2.0. Some maps are really dark now (as intended, remember it's still a horror game!) and on console there're no filters/brightness options.

  • I just play solo without meta perks and no items. And yes, i think we all can remember how scared we were in our first game. Sneaking around until the first killer found us, panicking and running at the map corners, dropping each pallet instantly and not looking behind. I want that feeling back sometimes. The closest to this is playing barebones, without any perks and items (solo, maybe only with kindred). It really sharps your senses. Same goes for killer btw, no perks. Try it out for a few games, it will make you better aswell.

  • Played since 2017 and i can see if something feels off. Be it just a bit faster movement speed or whatever.

When i'm 100% sure someone is cheating, i'm hunting them down. Even as surv.

  • The longer you play DBD the more you'll realize there's not much toxic things left what can actually be done while in a trial.

The real toxicity comes in the endgame chat imo. Better turn it off, it helps.

  • Most survivors act toxic to annoy the killer in my exp, esp. when they're SWFs.

And when killers react or just play efficient, most of them just want to win.

The motives are the difference. Survs actually have the time to act toxic, killers not really.

  • Wait, i also thought all cosmetics from the Howling Grounds event, including Annas Wolf mask should be avaible for all players by now. I remember there was a problem back then, when ppl unlocked it but some of the cosmetics won't show up in their inventory. And i remember a blogpost (as seen in @Gay Myers (Luzi) post) where they announced these items are given out for everyone, as they couldn't track who owned them and who not.
