Actually I think there are steps the devs can take to minimize toxicity. They are already doing it wilt in-game chat
But they could also come out and speak out against it and say they won't tolerate it in their game.
There could also be in-game incentives to lower it. Like say one nice thing in the in-game chat and you get a certain number of bloodpoints or shards.
But ultimately they have to come mostly from the community we as a community has to take a stand against it and do what we would do in real life. If your a survivor and you see your teammate bullying the killer tell them to stop. If you see the killer being toxic speak up. I'm confident the game can be less toxic.
And to OP I would prefer a shirtless legion.
Shirtless Legion I can get. But, I just want this community to improve.

In my opinion, the "childish" stuff includes:
- teabagging
- flashlight spam
- endgame chat or direct message insults/raging
- facecamping and/or slashing on hook
Everything else, including tunneling, soft camping/patrolling the hook, bodyblocking and any other strategy, perk loadout, etc is fair game. Admittedly, it may not be fun to be on the receiving end of some of it, but it's still fair. Remember, this is a multiplayer game, so one person's "fun" and "enjoyment" is always going to come at the cost of someone else's. Learn to accept it, move on, and strive to improve (can't get camped or tunneled if you don't get caught).
I just want to see people be better to each other and improve the community.

Though it isn't EVERY survivor, I do agree. The moment they get a buff they rub it in the killers faces. The moment the killer gets a buff, it's all screaming about nerfing them.

I picked him up recently. I'm having a ton of fun and the people I play against have said so too. I know I'm not great at him, but it's still fun.

If I see more than one flashlight. Or a team with multiple items ( three toolboxes, a key and two flashlights) I'm out. I know that team is probably sandbagging and I avoid.

Because I don't want to be taunted. If the gate is open, leave. Or they do that thing where you try and hit them and they run.

Because it's kind of rude to camp someone. Other survivors know that and so do most killers. It ruins the game for everyone.

Wow. That's annoying. I understand why you're frustrated; I would be too. I play both sides, so I know what you mean. My goal is not to just chase one survivor. That isn't the goal of the game. I wish people like that would just stop being so obnoxious.

As a killer, I've gotten frustrated and said some not cool things. I've had some not cool things said to me. It's good that you realized what you said wasn't okay. Honestly, and I've shocked toxic people with this, apologize in a really mature way. They might try to insult you after, but we know who really got the last laugh.

No, people don't need a free amount of "I don't like [Literally any and all inappropriate reasons to Disconnect] so I'll just disconnect for free".
The penalties already do this by giving you a slap on the wrist for the first few penalties before it actually starts being serious about making you stop playing and wait.
Emergency? Well a 5-15 minute lock means nothing because you should probably focus on the actual emergency and making sure everything is okay before returning.
Outage? The power is off so you can't play anyways.
Bug/Glitch/Crash? Taking the proper time to figure out what went wrong or what the issue is then reporting it properly before attempting to play again would probably take a fair amount of time.
Fair enough. But you could've been more polite about your point.

As killer, I've DC a few times due to household emergencies suddenly arising (my brother falling into glass, my puppy chewing on electrical coards, etc.)
It would be nice if there was some kind of option to say there was some sort of emergency or there were some odd things going on with the game. Although I don't see too many people DC due to bugs. Of course, there would have to be a limit to that. Weird idea though.

Be a good person, you never know what someone might've going through. It just takes that one little instance to make someone's day better. Have fun, play fair, don't be a jerk. At the end if the day, we all just want to have fun.
I really needed to hear this btw. Not too long ago I had a group of extra toxic survivors streaming to give me a hard time. Good to know there are still decent people in the community.

Other then that, I know you ask for silly wacky skins, I just want a skin that ACTUALLY changes how hillbilly looks, hillbilly skins are always just him with stuff attached, a beard here, some mutton chops there, a vest, a hat, its just hillbilly dress up.
I want something that legit changes how he looks, like Wraith has many skins like that.

It is a shame that Demogorgon is a licensed character and can't really get too much in the way of skins. He's one of my favorite killers cause he is so funny and cute, and I'd love to see him with a variety of hats that he could wear LOL

Oh! Another time I was playing killer and I heard the noise of glass shattering downstairs and screaming. So, of course I leave the game to go see what happened. My brother had tripped over something and landed in some glass. I apologized to the team I had to leave. They all were perfectly fine with it, two even asked if my brother was okay.

ngl chief, if 10 year olds are playing this game and the problem is the R rated-ness of the game, at the end of the day it falls on their parents for not parenting. Call me old fashioned or whatever but if you don't want your kid doing something you tell them not to. Parents these days don't even enforce their own rules and that's why 10 year olds end up playing Dead By Daylight because Springtrap is cool to them.
I know. Parents really should watch their kids better. I guess I'm too much of a worrier when it comes to other people. Springtrap would be really cool, provided he doesn't make those awful screeching noise some of the characters in FNAF make. That's my only request there.

First off, welcome! My first killer game was pretty bad. It takes time to grow as a killer. I started out a survivor, which helped me learn killer. Watch videos, watch how the killer you're playing against plays. Experience is the best teacher here. I hope you have fun. Don't let anyone bring you down.

It would be neat for them to bring this in. However, and this is nothing against you, a large number of the fan base are younger children. Other than the fact that I really really don't want younger children playing this game because of the concept of the game (we love it, but be honest, it's crazy brutal). I also don't want this to turn into a game that welcomes ten year olds. It's just going to make things messy. I like your line of thinking, but I feel like it would bring more drama into the community.

I was having an awful day. Just a ton of jerk survivors. I just let a team go. They were being cool. The last one was really nice and, since everyone left, I wanted to show him the hatch. I grabbed him, but I guess he thought I was being toxic because he disconnected. The conversation went as follows: (Not sure if this is an instant where I would have to block their name since I'm hoping they see it.)
