Okay how is that bad? They are fun and interactive ;))
I didnt say it would be bad xD Just, the perspective of running them and them doing their job makes me laugh (as a clown coulrophobia Nurse's calling, i cant wait for Coulrophobia to have a purpose lmao)
Btw talking about Clown, reworking those maps would help him soooo much
Legion too would be better

Yes all hex perks not to mention surge probably CI maybe Thrilling or Brutal Strength. Many perks.
"CI" ? you mean Cruel Limits ? I dont think reworking Rotten/Cowshed would make it better, I think the perk itself needs a rework (terror radius instead of around the gen), and it would actually (lol) make Coulrophobia and Distressing stronger

what? no its not, meta is just about 1 build....the meta build, most effective tactic available...
Fun builds are fun but arnt the meta by definition.
ya mean facecamping noed is meta ?
well you're right on the boring point then

oh yeah Surgeveillance will be stronger, Dark Devotion more useful... that's all i've got in mind

I think its boring by definition, meta means everyone and their mother runs it, why even have perks when everyone runs the same ones all the time anyway?
Its just boring, variation is the spice of life!
yeah but sometimes, being meta is all about having a fun unexpected build soooo
look at the nemesis builds i mean, it's strong, and it's fun too !

Pretty much. They should use Coal Tower as an example for a good map. Small size, decent amount of pallets and jungle gyms.
I personally think Hawkins is one of the best maps (killer or survivor) as it's filled with, lockers, unsafe pallets, falls, mechanisms, vaults and even a second floor, on a good size.

It's a mobility problem not because of killer move speed but because of map size. We all know many maps need fixing.
true, maps like Rotten Fields, Cowshed or Grim Pantry are painful for all the slow/setting killers, but i dont see how reworking those maps will make people stop putting Ruin in every single build
-
They are all way too strong, like, you take them from bottom tier to op.
And Knock-Out and Third Seal arent useless really, they are not very good perks, but they are playable
-
yeah that one, thanks
never played it but looked hilarious just for that

I don't think that's the right way to defend totems. Obviously you run Thrill so you can simultaneously pressure generators and prevent survivors from popping your totem.
Give it a cooldown like Thrilling ? I dont see it being super strong with a 40-60 seconds cooldown

@Galklife said:
There wont be next slowdown perk like ruin, and you know why? because of the exact same reason why forever freddy was nerfed ppl instead of using 1 or another would use both which is overkill (as forever freddy was) and because ppl abused that, freddys slowdown add ons are trash (i liked to use at most 1 at a time)
even now you hear here and there from mods about killers stacking 3 or 4 slowdown perks in build, so i would rather see nerf on stacking slowdown instead of 2nd ruin
i dont use ruin on my mains since 1,5 year, and im fine with it, you just have to get used to it, 1 or 2 gens will pop on your 1st/2nd chase who cares after that (if youre not bad) you will make survs busy
I never said it should be a passive perk, or a full match long perk tho
but yeah, they would need to make sure you cant synergize with other slow down perks, tho freddy's add-ons were not too much of the problem here, it's more of everyone slapping 4 slowdowns (and well, even after the patch forever freddy is still a build)

wouldnt it be cool if there was a thrilling tremors for totems ? like, the entity blocking the totems for 16 seconds each time you pick up a survivor ?
would probably be a very meh perk but hey, that would be interesting (if they nerf noed tho, cuz argh, that's free kills right there)

There are hexes to protect hexes. I'm not bringing MORE temporary perks to try to solve the issue that one perk is temporary. Not to mention the two defenses either hinge on bringing ALL hex perks, or are a one-off effect that can trigger while someone's injured and do literally nothing.

They're not going to release two perks that do the same thing. For one, it's redundant, and for another, if a second perk were introduced that could truly replace Ruin, it would be no less bothersome to face. It wouldn't necessarily replace Ruin either, since killers would as likely as not just stack the two for greater effectiveness.
You're right that it should be a perk that cant have effects combined with ruin, or very risky to use with
well, just like corrupt intervention which makes me think seeing everyone that it's going to be the only alternative for a while

That's not what I meant you're getting it wrong
I want new STRONG slow down perks, that can do Ruin's job (since everyone always slap Pop with Ruin it doesnt count for some reason), it can be a challenging perk too, not a free slow-down for everyone
it would be like, i don't know, creating a strong Dying Light for example ? or something that makes each kicking stronger, something like that, that would be interesting
by the way, people are sleeping a lot on how strong Surge + Surveillance can be on some killers (but i wouldnt recommend it on everyone of course)
-

Ruin is needed on almost the entire roster. It's a passive slow down, no hooks needed (like pop). Corrupt intervention is only good on setting killers, if survivors are smart they can just hide the entire time, cleansing totems maybe, then start the match after 2 minutes.
That's what I'm talking about
I want the devs to create new "Ruins" to make Ruin less needed
-
Okay this is funny, but did you know there's a Last Yearish game on Steam from 2014 where you can play as a shark like in Jaws ?

Oh I did not know that, I'm a mobile beta tester right now borrowed time dosent have a owner. Its it's own perk in the beta
well that explains it, borrowed time was not a teachable when it came out on console too, it became one of Bill's perk after he got released on it
guess they're doing the same here

Spirit
that's the only one that is annoying by default to play against
the others are fine when the player is not playing super sweaty

Bud, 98% of the threads on this forum are subjective in EVERYWAY. Yes, it is an opinion post about this past year in dead by daylight. Most people do agree with the majority of my opinions as so it seems. It’s not wrong for you disagree, but dude don’t come in the post, tell me what I said isn’t factual as if that’s a bad thing, and continue to say your opinion as if it’s fact. GTOMF
i didnt
i just said i liked the new things and i talked about my personal feelings about the problems that are still there like matchmakings events etc
dont do like i rejected everything you said like a fanatic

a year or so ago the devs said:
1) ”IN DECEMBER MATCHMAKING WILL BE IMPROVED”. Still not the case.
2) “FPS on consoles and low end PCs will be improved to a CONSTANT 60 FPS by chapter 14”. Chapter 14 is here and there’s barely a difference, but at least it’s noticeable.
3) “Dedicated servers will release Late Summer 2019”. That didn’t happen. It got delayed to “Late Fall 2019”. Guess what December 21st was? It was the first day of winter. It’s winter and 9 days left in 2019. You guys still haven’t mentioned anything on the servers as of lately. So that’s great.
YOU KNOW WHAT WE GOT IN 2019:
1) Freddy doesn’t suck.
2) Nurse sucks.
3) More cosmetics?
4) The best m1 killer to never do anything, The Plague
5) The most unused killer in the game, The Demogorgon
6) IMO a kind of boring killer for what the hype led up too, The Oni
7) Japanese Nea (Yui)
8) BUGSSSSS
9) the rift. With more bugs.
10) rift challenges that are overly try hard and situational. They suck the ever living titty milk out of your brain until you can’t process anything else other than what face camping, noed using, basement killers pupils look like. Or worse, 4man SWF trying time deplete 9 (reduced 3) keys.
10) frames dropping on bloodlust is broken is a problem again for the 1000th time since 2017.
11) the mostly dead dbd platform... the switch
12) no real events since the Chinese New Years. The game can just stay stale asf forever now
I think 2019 really sucked for the most part in comparison to the 2018 year. It also didn’t really help the game much, honestly this year has only dedicated to improving the game, but such lack of improvements where they are most dire falls with consequences which personally felt like they hurt hard this year. The game did get a nice influx players due to the Netflix/StrangerThings agreement and Rift pass, but I feel as if the devs had slowed down the constant every 3+/- month release of a killer there would be more room to actually improve what has been promised. There are many variables that effect the game and it’s stability in all cases, so I don’t put all the burden on the devs. Praying for a good 2019.
Bud, half of your points are completely subjective
Freddy is cool now, Nurse is still cool, Plague is fun to play as (more when survivors cleanse but i dont mind her just vomiting around), Demogorgon is fun too and a pretty underrated killer, and Oni, well clearly they ######### up at some point but they will definitely change that again [i hope], Yui is a cool survivor too, the challenges and the rift is a good idea, just clunky because it's the first one, hopefully the next one will be more fun, and never had any bloodlust dropframe so just change your computer
obviously there would be more glitches, is there any online game with updates that have none ? most of them even are fun (but the gamebreaking ones are a shame hopefully a big part of them get corrected even if they shouldnt even have existed in the first place) and even if i think the events should be better, well, between that and new content, i would choose the new content too
Tho I agree not having chapter releases every 3 months would be healthier for the game to improve the matchmaking essentially, and the balance, just like mid-chapters do right now (not the matchmaking part tho)
-
almost about to go on the forum to ask for teammates to do the dark sense challenge together lmao

@Aven_Fallen said:
I would say escaping without being hooked while using Spine Chill is the hardest. At least I thought and still think that, even tho I did this in my first game.
For Tome Level 4, neither of them is hard. The one were I needed the most Trials was probably Six Feet Under with 6.
when the match is cancelled the "survive" challenges get done instantly that was a easy win
-
@HellDescent said:
Six feet under was the hardest one for me due to survivors trying to deny it. Completed everything else except dark sense one, not even gonna attempt it.
dcs and voluntarily annoying survivors are really awful for almost all the killer challenges
i dont even get how you can finish 4 gens yourself unless everyone is working on the same gen for 80% of the match, unless everyone runs it for the challenge, there'll always be a moment a gen will pop and you weren't on it
-
@TheRoyalOwl said:
The hardest challenge was decisive light. The challenge isn't really hard in itself as you just need to blind a killer during a pickup animation, you don't actually need to get the save, but either I had bad positioning or the killer looked at a wall while picking up. It took roughly 16 games just go get that challenge.
lmao, it's not the hardest challenge but clearly the most annoying when you are playing survivor and everyone throw the game away just to get the blind
-
@Boss said:
Done, toughest for me was 2 endgame kills with NOED equipped.
personally used Freddy with noed and Blood Warden, was pretty easy
all depends on the build, if you just slap noed and wait for the end of the match, sure it wont work a lot

cant do anything more legally
the game is Pegi 18, if a kid still play it, the kid knows it's not their age, cant do anything more, it's like children on youtube, you tell them to not do videos until they are old enough to grasp how dangerous it can be, and how to protect themselves, but they still do it. The problem exists with EVERY pegi 18 game, GTA, CoD, probably Red Dead, there's always kids to play those games, and well, there's nothing the devs can do about it. It's not their responsability.
-
...That game is rated 18+, legally everyone is aware the game is violent, you cant do anything more, the devs arent going to monitor who took the account of their big sibling to play dbd in their back.
Pegi is meant to say "kids should not play it" if they still play it, there's nothing more you can do about it.

But moris being used instead of hooking is an issue
I know, but isnt it the point ?
The big bad thing about Moris is the tunneling around it, no ?
You get hooked, a teammate unhooks you, and instantly you find yourself downed and inside a mori animation because the killer was camping from a reasonable distance so the others wouldnt be afraid of coming for you.
At least by making everyone hooked before, it limits the tunneling a lot, without making it completely pointless (i mean, Cypress Mori, who's gonna complain about that one)

You're somehow right.
But I think Moris needs to require a lot to use (Like MoM cause being able to get another hit needs to take a lot of work) but I will take your feedback into consideration!
MoM isnt the best example I'll say xD
Maybe working for your Autodidact would be a better one

@Dr_Loomis said:
Just completed the first Tome, all challenges levels 1-4.
Are you planning on buying the next Premium pass?
I personally think the majority of unlockables were pointless. I didn't like any of the charms except the Trapper's trap which is authentic. The majority of the other charms where just cack.
The Trapper mask was a good cosmetic, but that aside, pretty meh.
I also found some of the challenges irritating, but that was was usually down to the potatoness/saltanomics of some of the fellow players.
Personally. I'm not buying it again. I spend waaaaay too much time already on DBD. I spent all the accumulated cells on cosmetics too.
damn you did all the challenges of the level 4 already ?!
Personally i liked a lot all the cosmetics i got, and the next one will be kinda free since you get 1000AC during the premium pass
Also i think even if some of the challenges were annoying, some were interesting and fun (like the This Is Not Happening one, very fun builds to do with it), and they will probably change it to be funnier
Dont forget this was only the first one, we all know how each new thing in the game is, give them time and it will be better
-
I personally those ideas are good but maybe a bit too much punishing as a nerf
I think having hooked all the survivors at least once should be the only requirement for the moris, as you dont want to spend the whole game hooking survivors to use your mori, it would be basically like using Rancor, moriing someone grants immediate kill yes, but everyone else gets the time to escape.
For the keys, I think just giving time to use the key is fine, as a killer main the only thing that annoys me is when a survivor opens the hatch right in front of me in the middle of the chase, dooming the others (because generally it means 2 other survivors died) and denying me my down and potential kill like it's nothing, without any required skill.
-
I personally think that the only thing Trapper would actually need is default 2 traps
it's not like Trapper was a very bottom tier killer like Clown/Legion/Doc, he needs a bit of love, yes, but once you get good with him, believe me he can be strong. But 2 traps by default would make him way better and viable, especially at low ranks because it will permit new killers to experiment more with his power
-

BP amounts suggest them dying on first hook (or killing themself on first hook) not tunneling. 🤷♀️

Agree completely.
I always try to see things positive. But its really hard in this case.
Well maybe if the majority of the playerbase is red ranks they will balance around that. Would be something new xD
yeah but balancing around the 5% best (even tho with the new system it would soon be the 20% bests) would be pretty horrible for all the casual gamers and of course the new players which would give them even less reasons to play it, so well, that's definitely how you kill your game

The DC has really gotten out of hand. Over the course of the year I've seen it get worse and worse, yellow and green ranks are the absolute worst. Lobby dodging is mainly a red rank problem in my opinion but I feel comfortable saying that these game stalling actions are not as toxic as thought out actions that just want to ruin the game for others. While the DC does do harm at least I'm not gen rushing a killer standing still at the hook again unless of course the toxicity over exceeds itself and you experience one of these toxic actions because of another of these toxic actions.
Sometimes I question, where does it end?
You know, I feel like there's no real scale of toxicity, all of the toxic actions you can do have the same consequence : frustrating everyone else
so it can be pretty much everything it can even go to bad matchmaking and memeing as some people dont like having fun in the game and dont like to face someone who's having fun
tho i would say there's a difference between making a mistake and being toxic, as most new survivors for example will farm unhooks unvoluntarily because, well, they dont know the timing, it's not being toxic or something.
So toxicity would be doing something voluntarily to ruin the other side's enjoyment of the game
like facecamping, being annoying to the others, insulting other people, dcing on down, using the most broken combinations to get a 90% of 4Ks (like Spirit Prayer beads Noed facecamping Ebony Mori), tea-bagging in a not funny way etc
there's so much ways you can ruin the game for someone it's quite impressive actually, and most (even insulting in post-game chat let's be honest) wont lead to a ban, so it also asks another question, what could be done to prevent that sort of behaviour ?
-
even if it was supposed to make the game healthier, all it will do is encourage people to suicide on first hook instead of dcing and punish those who face a game-breaking glitch that requires you to just quit the game/the match
the penalty for dcing should be everyone else cant unpip so they have no reason to do so, as even if they did that to punish the killer, they wont unpip, and same for the survivors who were left behind to death (3 survs vs a killer at the beginning of the match almost always means death)
-
know i already voted for dcing on first down, basically dooming the match for the others survivors and not giving a good match for the killer, but post-game chat insults are pretty much the same level (or in other, the whole swf team dcing after one of them dcs, making basically the match end instantly with everyone unpiping, unhappy, losing items and add-ons and offerings thrown away for nothing)
i even encountered survivors that dc on first down, then wait the whole match to insult everyone in the post-game chat

Well lately I get faster queues as survivor. But almost always lower rank than R1 where im at. It doesnt feel fair on both sides atm. Tbh I can understand people pushing killer aside for the time being, so did I.
I agree. I also feel like it will get even worse. Its the first *new* rank reset and I already see negative outcome. And that ofc adds up with the matchmaking. Honestly I would prefer the old one.
Omg its so messed up. Makes me sad even thinking about it
glad to see everyone agrees the new rank reset is going to explode even more, not even talking about the fact that eventually everyone will end up in red ranks making lower ranks queues atrocious and match making even more tedious
i hope they change back to the old system soon, it's still better than having to play in a thousand unbalanced games with 10 minutes long queues (not even talking about how awful it must be on console)
the system clearly failed at making the matchmaking better, and will eventually take off the monthly goal off becoming a rank 1, with longer queues for new players
this was a bad idea, i hope they got it, and will go back to the old system soon so they can work on a new system that would actually work

Happened to me too dont worry, right now i cant tell if it's even more broken than before but sure i can tell you it's awful.
Feels like there's a shortage of killers in most regions, making survivors queues longer and longer (especially solo queues) and matchmaking more and more inaccurate
just a theory of mine tho, i didnt check the stats at all, dont even know if such stats exist
