    the correct question is: why did you quit dbd and are on the forums yet?

    @aregularplayer

    Preach.

    Don’t understand this one either. If I uninstalled I would have left a long time ago. Guess some people have time to kill.

  • I think saying the community would be better off if the game died is a bit of an exaggeration.

    First, if the game died there would be no community at all. Also, those players who you might consider toxic would just move onto a different pvp game and do it there.

    I have met some wonderful people through this game that I would have otherwise probably never met, and so I have no regrets and I still continue to enjoy playing both killer and survivor.

    If you have already uninstalled and don’t want to expose yourself to more toxicity I would advise to stay away from the forums. Lately this had looked almost like a post match chat in here.

  • I don’t think it’s virtually possible to fix 5 gens in 3 minutes.

  • @Zephinism said:

    Yep. Loaded into The Game last night and someone DC'ed about 5 seconds in. We were all killed as the killer played extra hard as to not depip.

    @Zephinism

    This is exactly what I mean. There needs to be a solution and my "slash 1 gen off" is just a suggestion.

    It isn't fair that everyone now has to sweat because of a player's choosing or accidentally dc'ing.

    They should do something for survivors to address the lack of a teammate, and adjust the scoring for the killer accordingly.

  • @ausanimal said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/125995/i-would-like-to-know-if-the-devs-will-ever-update-this

    Where is the fair trade for the killer in all off this if a survivor DC i.e they get hit first or don't like the killer why should the match become even more easy for the other 3.

    @ausanimal

    Why should it become harder? Why should survivors be punished for a player dc'ing?

    Would you rather the match just end/get cancelled? The killer is already only having to deal with 3 people. That is the trade off.

  • @I_Face_Camp said:

    I disagree. Many times players leave for unacceptable reasons amd the killer should be rewarded for making them rage

    @I_Face_Camp

    And yet many times it isn't. Also, I never said this is for survivors that a killer makes them "rage". The players I am talking about are players the killer never even interacted with.

    This is a flaw in the game because 4 people are suppose to be playing at the start of the match, not 3.

  • "more than half of the survivors in the payerbase are toxic and there isn't a clear cut reason as to why but I got a few theories as to why that Dead by Daylight."

    I don't know about that one... but I will answer not why but when I become toxic. What I mean by toxic is what most believe is "toxic".

    IF. If I ever see a killer bullying a survivor that is clearly a baby survivor. I will do everything in my power to protect them. Even if it means t bagging every time they miss a hit or blind them until their eyes hurt. In a way that is sort of my role already when I play solo, but at the same time I don't pull out every trick until that happens. Cuz I know what it feels like to be new and feel like a killer suddenly forgot other survivors exist.

  • There are a lot of things that BOTH sides say to each other that are not ok for the community.

    What I fail to understand if how the continuous trend of posting in game screenshots of post match chat is going to solve anything. I could very easily start posting every single time a killer has used inappropriate language and/or has called me the F/N word. That wouldn't solve anything.

    If you are really that concerned, calling them out on here isn't going to help you. You are better off reporting them and following the steps that are already in place for in-game guidelines.

  • If you want to tunnel a T Bagger just because it upsets you because you think they must die... be prepared to get gen rushed.

  • @Endstille said:

    This is not absurd at all. Did you never play as killer or what? At some point you know pretty damn well that the survivors are struggling and you could end the game right now but instead of doing that you take off a bit of pressure so you can have more points, potential double pip and more points for them too.

    As an example, you see an pretty unsafe unhook, do you tunnel the person or go for the healthy one? Depending on how pressure is, this usually would play a significant role in my decision, nowadays? Who gives a #########.

    That is the way it has been for me as killer depending on what I play, that is probably because why I do not get as much as hate/toxic comments on my profile but instead +rep from people that died in my trials.

    @Endstille

    I have trouble understanding the first paragraph. Or maybe you didn't understand what I said. I didn't say slugging was absurd. To turn Slugging into a perk is absurd.

    Not a killer main, I play both roles and I've actually been playing more survivor than killer lately and that's why I think it's ridiculous that people want more nerfs I mean the game is already hard as it is for killers honestly. Also I did try to explain to him/her why it was a bad idea and he/she insulted me, I insulted him/her back and now I'm jailed😀(btw I just called him/her a troglodyte, not even that much of an insult)

    I never said they hate killers, you're literally just putting words in my mouth that I never said.

    I don't care about the ruin change, to me it was a useless perk anyways because it always got destroyed in the first 30 seconds of the match.

    Thank you for showing us how much of an entitled survivor you are, let me know when you start playing both roles please.

    @AStupidDavid

    I think by him/her saying the entitlement goes both ways is correct.

    I saw a post of someone asking for survivors to fix 12 gens instead of 5. All due to the Ruin change. I'm pretty sure they were serious, but mocking them would not be my style.

    Playing both roles means you have an understanding of both sides, it doesn't however prevent you from being biased to one side or the other. I play both sides and try to have an open mind when killers suggest things (even if I think they are ridiculous).

    If all conditions where you are not tunneled anymore (what I mentioned above and more) disabled DS, then I would be 100% content with DS timer being paused while you are slugged.

    Because slugging someone immediately after unhook can also be considered kind of tunneling. But only when you are not forced to slug by DS working when it should not.

    @Archimedes5000

    Honestly, and I say this with an open mind...

    I think the timer pausing while being slugged is a terrible idea. I feel like it somehow "tames" the killer. When I should just rip through their bo-...😜😅 I mean when I should just be able to keep tunneling if I want to.

    Imagine how bad this would be if the last gen has just gotten done, a person with DS is on hook and you know you can't go back or else you will get hit because you can't slug them to run the timer off.

    I mean, as a survivor I'd enjoy this. As a killer not so much.

  • @Endstille said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049094#Comment_1049094

    Depends on how survivors play honestly. This were solos or just 2 friends playing together who knows about the others? 4man swf with OoO and ez pz. 4 good survivors will win in 90% the rest is with giving room for error and fuckups due to being human.

    @Endstille

    From what I can tell (and I can be corrected because they blocked out the perks) I don't see indication that they had OoO or the other two were swf.

    My main point is that I could report back here about all the bad matches I have had as a killer where I know I played bad and easily got "gen rushed". Because I understand that I didn't do my part, I can't really blame the survivors for playing well.

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049110#Comment_1049110

    Yeah, I know, just saying that DS hitting at bullshit times really can make you play less nice.

    I think DS could get a bit of rework.

    For example disabling when DS user is caught in a trap, starts doing gens, starts healing, starts cleansing, there are multiple other people hooked/downed, etc.

    @Archimedes5000

    The problem is that they made DS to have an anti tunnel feature. When in reality DS doesn't stop the tunneler. You can still tunnel someone even after you've been stabbed. I've done it.

    So with that in mind, even if they reworked DS. The fact that you can slug for an unlimited amount of time, would make the perk nearly worthless.

    Imagine this: A reworked DS player gets unhooked. You don't go back to the hook. The player accidently steps into a trap 4 feet from the hook, their DS deactivates. You are encouraged to go back because you know this information.

    Yeah we can discuss how the player should have watched out for the trap, but in the same manner we can also discuss how the killer can just slug to run out the timer.

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049062#Comment_1049062

    I agree about Ruin, but actually DS kinda works like that.

    When I play Trapper and someone, fully healed, gets caught in my trap, so I pick him up AND GET ######### BY DS just because I hooked him less than 1 minute ago, and it does not matter how many people I hooked in the meantime, then trust me, I feel intense urge to TUNNEL THAT ######### AND HIS FAMILY TO DEATH even if its not his fault.

    @Archimedes5000

    If they were to rework DS (Which I doubt since it's probably in the best spot it will ever be) Killers would still slug. I say this being someone who plays killer. I would still slug because it is a strat to slow down at times.

    So in essence what I am saying is that, if they have that luxury, survivors should have some type of luxury. They get it in the form of a perk, so they have to waste a slot to "possibly" use it. Killers get the slugging feature as a base. You don't have to do anything, literally just down them and leave them.

    I also play Trapper (he is one of my favorite killers) and I completely understand what you are saying. The best advice I can give you is hit instead of grab. Especially if you know a) They are obsession b) They were just unhooked. Even if you think you are wasting time, if you didn't specifically tunnel them, you might have 20 seconds max to wait. This is keeping 1 person off the gen and requires another to come heal them. I've gotten snowballs out of that.

    Also DS is only a one time use. Slugging is unlimited, so the difference is quite high IMO.

  • @Aura_babyy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1049065#Comment_1049065

    The only real difference here imo is that the spirit DCd.

    She could have had a chance because it looked like we were about to 3 gen lock ourselves at the time. I was playing with 1 friend and he was found almost immediately, so yea

    @Aura_babyy

    And exactly what you just said is the piece of the puzzle missing when I ask people why they feel like they got gen rushed.

    Sometimes I get it, map rng hits heavy and you have a group of survivors who are decent, and have toolboxes, but how you play as a killer matters.

    Applying pressure is not just a meme, it's a reality. Some people will ultimately suffer in their matches unless they know how to properly apply any kind of pressure for that matter.

  • While I agree that slugging as a perk is absurd, let's not pretend like slugging for a killer isn't a luxury. You wouldn't be slugging if people were getting right back up over and over with the unlimited amount of times it happens.

    I just don't wanna hear about how killers would play "nicer" if perks like Ruin weren't nerfed and DS didn't exist. Because that is just as absurd.

  • Personally I think its a fun/great outfit.

  • Does it need to be understood?

    It's a part of the game. Learn to deal with it.

  • @Hero_awesome said:

    Thanks to anyone who actually offered some advice and not just a sassy remark. I've been rank 1 multiple times I don't like playing dirty and tunneling but still had survivor mains criticizing me for misplays when I'm not a bad killer. No trutalent but I hold my own. And one more thing claudette followed for maybe 10 15 sec not the whole game. So she got back on a gen. S ok me people thought that she followed all game.

    @Hero_awesome

    So I guess telling you the devs don't care about killers was actual advice right?

    Lol

    You realize that if you base your argument purely on matchmaking and not provide with footage or a description of specifically what u did, no one can provide you with actual advice right?

    People thought Claudette followed you around because you didn't provide any information other than the substancial (/s) "the devs don't care about their game".

    Oh it will die soon. With a lot of exclusive games to be out this year.. It will die soon.. In fact I'm just waiting for RE3 to come out.. At least I can leave this game permanently and Play Resistance.. At least you got a better chance in that Game as Mr.X than this unbalance survivor sided game.

    @DragonOfPain

    It won’t die because you’re still here talking about it.

    The DS rework was a HUUUUUUGE buff to it not a nerf. Insta heals are still just as bad except now its a styptic instead of syringe thats causing problems. Pallets galore is still prominent on maps like Ormond where every tile has a super powerful pallet while yes its not double pallets, they replaced one tile being super powerful to transforming it into two insanely powerful tiles

    @kate_best_girl

    We used to be able to use DS almost at will (on first down) so all you had to do is make sure you were away from a hook. You didn’t need to have been hooked first and you didn’t have a timer.

    I don’t think it was a buff, it just became more conditional.

  • Whenever I get someone following me with a flashlight, I usually snowball because it tells me that they stay around hooks ALOT.

  • Bloodlust should have been nerfed when they started to create unsafe loops and putting them all over the place.

  • Huh?

    They didn't remove it. I just moonwalked a match ago.

  • I have over 1k hours on Friday the 13th, and I think that game is way easier than DBD.

    You can actually fight back for one. You don't have to deal with being bloodlusted, and can effectively use structures to protect you.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

    Both sides have their fair share of entitled players. You can call out the other side of the playerbase when your half does the exact same but add on the threat to quit the game all together. #RuinWasBadStopComplaining

    This can easily all be settled over a nice game of Left 4 Dead since there are only two entitled players in the world on that game.

    @DetailedDetriment

    I share your sentiment. People need to also stop acting like literally everyone who has negative feedback is asking for a nerf. That’s the whole point of the forums.

    There are people who will post constructive feedback on why Billy is not in a good place because of some of his add ons vs Nerf Billy he is too OP. Both are not the same thing.

  • Because Blendettes exist.

    They will never be seen or heard within the bushes so they are self dependant when in need of healing.

  • Switch to toxic mode.

    Watch me sandbag your hits while I blind you mid way so you will lose track of that other survivor.

    😈

  • Does anyone know if its a combination of specific add ons?

    I just played a match where no matter what I did to avoid the blind, it hit me immediately.

  • Waited out a DS at a locker thinking the person was still in there. Come to find out they were long gone as I opened the locker and nobody was in it. o.o

    It was a Claudette that snuck out before my eyes.

  • It’s called a learning curve.

    You can’t say you just started playing killer expect to understand their gameplay. It is completely different from survivor not to mention each individual killer plays different as well.

    Just because someone outplayed you doesn’t make them toxic.

  • Yes and No.

    As with many horror films/shows, sometimes the scare aspect is found in the intensity that is created when you are running from something trying to kill you. This doesn’t mean every survivor should be scared though, as part of surviving is also finding the courage to protect yourself and others.

    You can clearly get that from the very first DbD cinematic trailer. You see the girl running as someone steps into a trap and then wonders what she should do.

    The horror aspect is still there, it’s just not going to be as potent if you’ve put in a lot of hours into the game. I have over 3k hours and I still get jump scares and that feeling of being watched etc... but only on occasions.

    @Lucama

    Actually even the most optimal survivor will find it challenging against an optimal killer.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

    Straight up. The killer is a power role that has minimal power.

    Escaping should be fairly rare and nit this entitled thing.

    We arent playing Survive by Daylight.

    The premise is that u die more often than not. Of course theyve changed that thinking.

    @Dwight_Confusion

    Which killer has minimal power? Are we playing the same game?

    As far as I remember, good killers also don't want kills handed to them. It is a game afterall, not a science experiement where survivors are somehow guinea pigs.

  • @DoctorShockBoi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1035525#Comment_1035525

    But the whole slugging aspect is boring. When this happens to me, I let survivor B run and just hook survivor A.

    I've been rank 1 for awhile now and I have no problem keeping my rank. I'm confident in my ability to win. Now...

    I will say that ds needs to be more "anti-tunnel" and less "you cant get me"

    I've always hated slugging. It's boring for both sides.

    Downing survivor B and waiting for their ds is literally camping them AND the hook. That's boring.

    @DoctorShockBoi

    I'm just saying that, if all these people complain about it not being strictly an anti-tunnel perk, than they need to realize how sweaty killers play. Because slugging would then have to be addressed.

    Camping is boring, but it can become a strat... per the scenario I described. Many people camp even in red ranks. By camping I mean proxy/2-20 ft away/basically focusing on the hooked person no matter how far you are. Just making an observation of what it means, not that they can't do it.

    DS was already nerfed as it is. It was giving a bigger condition because you are guaranteed 1 hook before it procs. Whereas before you could use DS before your first hook. You can slug indefinitely and as much as you want... but nobody is talking about how this isn't an issue.

  • Killer camps hook.

    Survivor A baits a hit to get other survivor B unhooked.

    Killer downs survivor A. and tunnels survivor B.

    Killer downs survivor B, and proceeds to hook survivor A.

    Survivor B loses DS.

    Rinse repeat.

    DS is fine as it is right now.

  • Imagine being that sensitive over a correction of grammar.

    It's no wonder these forums have become what they have lately.

  • @undelord99

    If they are they all those posts are drowned by the people complaining about Ruin.

  • lmao why the heck is Whispers on this list???

    It’s not even a bad perk.

  • First I will say you are free to use whatever perks you wanna use, yes even No Ed.

    Second, while I get that those survivors were wrong in judging your choices, I think comparing NoEd to all those perks you listed I disagree with. They don’t land a punch as much as No Ed does. I’m specifically talking about the overall effect, because the only requirement no ed has is that one totem wasn’t cleansed.

  • @Aneurysm said:

  • Don't worry... the good killers and the ones who actually know how to play the game aren't worried about gen times.

    Oh wow, another "valuable" video from one of the most-biased Killer Mains.

    Totally worth to watch. /s

    @Aven_Fallen

    Gotta find any opportunity to bash and create a false narrative.

    We should start posting that the devs are killer biased because they mentioned reading the forums about DS. I mean, you've seen the amount of posts by the same handful of people about it.

  • They said DS already got a nerf and they aren't worried about it's power atm. They are reading the forums though. That's all. That doesn't mean it's going to be nerfed.

  • Another one of these... lmao

  • Keys are not toxic. They are part of the game.

  • I play both sides and for me the ruin change will be healthy for the game because it will help the new players who had to be stuck with killers bringing stacking perks (Thana/Dying Light) on top of old ruin and in some cases the nasty slow add ons.

    I only used Ruin on Myers but switched to Corrupt Intervention, because it fits my playstyle. I want survivors to scout around so I can stalk them rather than making my presence known right off the bat.
